I was there for all of 5 minutes - they were at the other end of the ground and they arrived late  >:(

BTW hard to train properly when the cetre square has the covers on

Didn't that happen last week at the SCG as well? Very convenient for the home side given our last training session is just a light one that goes for only 45 minutes. The 'Gabba centre wicket area is hard enough as it is so what are they protecting this week ::).

They normally train the morning of the day before a game Tucky. So Friday at say 10am-11am would be a fair bet. RFCO twittered the other day that they are still doing work at the Northern end of Punt Rd so I'm not sure if it's officially open to the public but sometimes you can squeeze in at one of the gates around the ground or just watch it from the other side of the fence along the Punt Road side of the ground.

About 30 players in that pic so more than a game squad. Notice Batchelor and Contin were there today as far as those who didn't play last week.

If you're passing Punt Rd today there's a training session at 2pm. Not sure how much you can see though as RFCO sats there isn't really any public viewing areas at the moment due to the reconstruction.

From RFC twitter:

Training this week at Punt Rd Tuesdays and Thursdays, however there is very limited space for watching due to construction.

Sitting here at Cazaly's in Cairns waiting for training to start. There's no stands worth talking about.  Wind blowing straight down the ground. The ground looks about the same length as the G, but doesnt seem quite as wide. The surface looks OK, like thick cooch(?) grass. There's about 300 people here to watch training.

It's about 24 degrees, humid and a warmish breeze.

Coaches, Whitey & Cotch first on the ground.  Dave Astbury walking (limping) around with a big compression bandage on his knee.  A few of the boys wearing gloves on one hand. Shane Tuck training. Lids doing the press conference.  Lots of Suns officials watching.

Starting with getting the feel of the ball on the turf and some well executed 30 metre passing and handball drills with lots of talking.  Now working on kick outs and transition to attack, one end of the ground to the other.  Pretty soon it degenerated into goalkicking at each end, which might be a challenge tomorrow if this wind keeps up.

All over in about 30 minutes.

Do they still have that concrete moat around the outside of the ground?

I remember one year they had to stop a game to get a big croc out of there.

Suppose that's one way to slow down rotations, gotta jump the reptile pit coming on and off the ground...

if the humidity over there is anything like the humidity we have up here today then it is going to be energy sapping on the players tomorrow arvo.

doesnt bode well when we have to front up against geelong next week
