« on: September 05, 2021, 03:13:29 PM »
Next up is Vlastuin.

Floss in his 9th year of AFL played 12 of a possible 22 games in 2021 to take his career total to 173. An injury-riddled year started in round 1 when Nick injured his knee. Despite some initial claims in the media that he was taken off the ground to exploit the new sub rule  ::), Nick would end up missing 6 weeks. He returned in round 8 against Geelong and played 8 matches straight before again injury hit in the form of a medial ligament in his knee and a severe corked quad. This would keep Floss out of the side for another month. He returned in round 21 against North and played out our final 3 games of the season. Nick finished equal 20th in our B&F with 25 votes.

Nick missing games cost us big time.

Missed his intercept marking, drive from the back half but most of all his leadership

But for the games he played

I gave him an 8

7 only because he got hurt and then had to work back into form.

If not for that, easily 8+

Never looked fit - finished off the season ok i guess
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

I gave him a 9, would be a walk up start in any team in the comp, great competitor, skilfull, realiable,  tough and fought his way with and through injury this season. Easily in our top 6 IMHO
