I couldn't find this on the net so I typed it out....
CROCKER'S CUPPA
By Craig Hutchison
Sunday Herald-Sun 06 SEP 2009, Page S32
DARREN Crocker had tongues wagging on Monday at a meeting with new Richmond coach Damien Hardwick.
Crocker, Hardwick and their manager Michael Quinlan met in Elwood for a coffee and discussion.
Tiger officials said the two were catching up socially and cast doubt on any move for the former Roos caretaker.
Crocker has a year left on his contract, but after most of the other Kangaroos assistant coaches were dismissed on Monday is believed to be open to offers.

Maybe he will get his old office back at Punt Rd.
Spent 5 years there under Spud.
-
was he any good?
do we want to bring back the frawley days in any shape or form?
-
crocker has been described and always comes across as the quintessential GOOD BLOKE in footy circles...bit like the danihers....dunno much about his cred when it boils down to coaching prowess...some of the roos efforts late were encouraging.....tough one really, dont really know whats expected of assistants

Worked with him , he is good.
No fluke that the Kangas won there last 2 games.
Great communicator is Crock :thumbsup
-
No thanks, this club needs fresh faces and fresh ideas. No more recycled rubbish, that goes for players and coaches. If he was any good the Kangas would have made him coach.

What about all the games he lost as caretaker?

Crocker, Good Cop, Hardwick, Bad Cop. ;D

Wasn't that impressive miked up in his last game, although I'm sure he perceived it more as advertising himself to the football world and had to second guess what he was saying all the time.
Seems like a nice guy, but pretty run of the mill friendly coach, but I'd hardly want to go into battle for him.

Every organisation needs good blokes and hard men. I doubt Hardwick is in the good bloke category.

Darren Crocker knows his footy, thus the Kangas want to keep him.
His last 2 wins show he has the ability to be a great assistant
-
The players would probably like to have different voices at different times. Hardwick cant run them into the ground 100% of the time all the time. Crocker would be a good get for Richmond. Norths players clearly responded to him late in the season as well. He seems like a terrific bloke to have as a number 2 coach.

They didn't respond to Crocker they were responding to the good news and genuine excitment in there getting of Brad Scott. It lifted the clubs optimism confidence and therefore out look and they played accordingly.

Funny how Richmond's win over Hawthorn last year meant nothing, however North's win over StKilda means something
Nice double standards

Unfortunately 2009 proved that our win against Hawthorn was in reality worth Nothing. Thats the truth of it.

No it meant the new coach in 2010 was looking at their games firsthand and wanted to see who wanted to do the hard stuff in a futile situation in order to remain on the list in 2010. New coaches do that to footy clubs and the playing list. Hence the playing list lifts its intencity especially fringe players and as a result you get a 5-10% increase across the board. Something our duds failed to respond to in the last few weeks of the season. Remember these two dud sides couldn't even beat each other in round 16. Heck even our duds were 7-2 after nine games in 2005.It's called winds of change and impressing the new coach. A new coaches honeymoon period. Once the rooting stops the new coaches worth is finally put to the test.

Darren Crocker is a great bloke and a very knowledgable footy person. Is a very good assistant coach
However, would he really want to come back to a club that gave him the stuff 5 years ago?

That is very funny Jack and hopefully you know why ;D

Crocker staying put at the Kangas. Good result for all imo.

Darren Crocker happy to play support role
Damian Barrett | September 08, 2009
NEW North Melbourne coach Brad Scott has made his first appointment, with Darren Crocker signed to assist him for the next two seasons.
Crocker, who coached North for the final 10 rounds this year after Dean Laidley's exit, had been considering his options for 2010 and beyond, and last week met new Richmond coach Damien Hardwick.
Crocker said the meeting with Hardwick was an information sharing session, and not an offer to join the Tigers.
