Pies' champ sex attack probe
Anthony Dowsley
Herald Sun
October 04, 2010 11:17AM
A COLLINGWOOD premiership player is one of two Pies at the centre of a police sexual assault probe.
The investigation centres around an alleged assault in the hours after Collingwood's drought-breaking premiership win on Saturday.
Police have confirmed a complaint was lodged with police on Sunday morning, which is alleged to have occurred in South Melbourne.
No charges have been laid.
Both players voluntarily submitted to interviews.
Several other players have been interviewed and more will be in the near future.
"It would be inappropriate to comment further,'' a police spokeswoman said.
Collingwood management were in crisis talks this morning.
The premiership celebrations lasted until early in the morning for most Collingwood players, most drinking at upmarket nightclub Eve in City Rd.
Other teammates, coaching staff, sponsors and supporters partied at a private gathering at Tonic bar at Crown on Saturday night.

Haha! I know who you're thinking of JJ. Different bloke with slightly different surname.
Mind you, he would have told everyone he was a general. He lied through his teeth.
Was a captain before becoming a senator and full-blown dirtbag.

Jenny might be a better clue for Jack ::) :lol

who were the players?
Don't think they've been made public yet :gotigers

Naming or hinting players can get us and OER in trouble so no names please even if a lot of us know who they are.

The victim at the centre of the allegations has been named. Nick Riewoldt.
Claims to have been been molested repeatedly by 3 Collingwood players over a 2 hour period on Saturday.

are we allowed to quote from an actual website OER?

daniel:
Based on the fact the the major new sites (eg HUN & Age) & Vic Police havent named the players our preference is No reference be made to the names of the players at this time (my legal contact who is OER's legal guru as well has told me this is the best course of action for this site)
I would hope everyone will respect our wishes on this one.
Yes we are aware that a smaller "news" website (not sure how reputable it is btw) may have named the alledged players and they have done that at their own peril

one of these things just doesnt belong here...

Edit: a bit too obvious references :shh.
I would say we all know who the two players being mentioned are so and this is for everyone keep it to yourselves and don't post the players' names or post hints to who they are on the forum. Legally it puts OER at risk.

ah well, live and let die, WP.

Neil Mitchell this morning on 3AW named the two players interviewed by police. Eddie of course is furious about it.

Well Eddie and the boys can sue him if they're not the ones - won't be holding my breath :rollin
And I understand the AFL is upset too - didn't hear too many protests from them when Brendan Fevola was named and shamed.
Why?

;D :thumbsup
I didn't edited your post Ox - Mr OE did ;D
But Neil Mitchell has made the names public we're free to do the same
What was interesting was the "Print Media" taking the high moral ground being critical of Mitchell

And the funny thing was that "'everyone "' in the know knew Fev wasnt guilty , but Brisbane went down a different path and suspended him,

Yep Fev and also Milne and Montagna who were named publicly before being cleared. One rule for Collingwood and another for everyone else. Eddie didn't have a problem carrying on and on ::) about Richmond that time when he was still host of the Footy Show when Schulz cost us our TAC Cup sponsorship.
