Father/Son
Mitch Wallis to the Dogs for #22 (Port offered #16)
Tom Liberatore to the Dogs for #40 (Sydney offered #39)
Not sure if we're allowed to chat about the trades done in here, but this will make it very tough for the Dogs to trade for any players now
They are going to have to trade some talent away if they intend to get anyone and they won't have any decent picks to bundle a less than quality player with to get their man

Personally prefer this thread to be kept for only confirmed trades. Makes it easier to keep a quick check of progress.
Plenty of other threads (and presume there will be specific ones about a certain trade) to voice opinions.
-
Instead of using the official trades thread at the top of the page for discussion, why don't we keep it all together in here and not clutter up the other thread.
Wallis and Liberatore are Dogs for pick #22 and pick #40.
I've been listening to Hutchy and Wallace on the AFL site (not as bad as it sounds), Wallace has said a few interesting things:
- 18 months ago Ben McKinley was in his lounge room, we wanted him but baulked at the length of the contract he wanted.
- He just explained what happened with the McMahon trade. He takes full responsibility for McMahon BTW. Morton wanted out at the Eagles and we had him lined up in the PSD. The Dogs wanted to trade McMahon for salary cap relief and we'd made a deal with them. An RFC official (didn't name him) apparently made a deal with the Eagles with Wallace having no knowledge of it. Pick 35 to the Eagles for Morton 'to keep things sweet if the Judd deal collapsed'. That meant we had to use 19 on McMahon. It was meant to go #2 Cotchin, #18 Rance, #19 S. Selwood, #35 McMahon, PSD #1 Morton

So why wouldn't we offer Western a Pick in the 50's or 60's? Stupid!

We'd already made an agreement with the Dogs.
I'm just guessing, but i'd say that the RFC official was Miller.
-
Dogs' first pick is now 57. So they need to trade some players with decent trade value out if they want to be involved in trade week.
The clubs mass-meeting is breaking up now so hopefully we get some news soon. First day of trade week is usually very dull.
Hutchy reckons Mackie will be put on the trade table.

Yep it was Miller. In any case even if it Jordie was picked up for pick 35 it is still a stupid trade. Jordie was playing VFL at Werribee and we as a lcub that had just finished with the wooden spoon were willing to give up a good pick for him instead of using our picks on youth. The recruiting philosophy as had been the problem at Richmond for years was all wrong. Too much short-term thinking and making it up as we go along year to year rather than a genuine long-term strategy.
-
Dogs very keen on Vezspremi
Gold Coast most likely to get Brennan for pick 15. Carlton can't match that.
Also GC to trade krakouer for a pick in the late 20s.
-
The clubs mass-meeting is breaking up now so hopefully we get some news soon. First day of trade week is usually very dull.
Not much happening yet.
Hawks interested in Hale.
Vezsepremi is leaning towards the Dogs. (Agree MT, not sure how they're going to get trades done with pick 57. Everitt and the Harbrow pick might have to be used)
Collingwood and Dockers dealing together for the Tarrant swap.
-
Adelaide and Richmond still meeting. Ricky Nixon is also in with them.
-
Everitt and Vezspremi looks like it'll be a straight swap.
Just heard Barrett mention that the Roos want Pick 12 and pick 32 for Hale and Pick 17 :o
That's one valuable VFL player!

Cats keen on Tambling apparently.

C'mon Adelaide, raise the Cats pick 14, then let's see if the Cats will come back with a straight swap for Selwood. :rollin

article on the AFL site named Three set for new homes by Wednesday is interesting.
ANDREJS Everitt, David Hale and Richard Tambling should all find new homes by Wednesday, their manager Ricky Nixon says.
Nixon said his players were looking for fresh starts and new opportunities during the trade period and expected all of them to generate strong interest.
"Tambling, Hale and Everitt will get somewhere, I won't go into which clubs at this stage, as soon as tomorrow maybe," Nixon said.

Tambling absolutely hates us.
If Nixon is telling him than he's getting booed because he was taken before Franklin, sounds like he's being brainwashed.
-
Tambling absolutely hates us.
to be honest i dont think thats right .... he just wants a new environment from what i can see.
-
RFC twitter page is saying our guys have now left and we're done for the opening day.
Stanton has re-signed with the Bombers. Essendon also out of the race for Jared Brennan.
-
Herald-Sun twitter saying Demons' 2nd round pick for Hale, plus swap of 1st round selections, is a sweet deal for North. And that Tarrant will emerge at chf nxt year.
-
However, midfielder Bachar Houli remains out of contract and Richmond has made a serious play for him.
It is understood the Tigers have offered Houli a contract worth $600,000 over two years.
Carlton's Shaun Grigg is also on Tigers' radar, and a figure of $1 million over three years has been suggested.

Geelong have 3 picks in the mid 20s so they have picks to play with. Good for us.

to be honest i dont think thats right .... he just wants a new environment from what i can see.
On reflection, you are more than likely correct. I see it now as more of a ploy by Nixon in 1. diverting the attention of prospective buyers to the supposed upset of not getting Franklin over Tambling as opposed to the supporters thinking that Tambling is a bad player and 2. Justifying Tamblings inability to play the game not because he himself is inadequate but because he has got bad coaches. Both of these scenerios draw attention away from Tamblings obvious flaws.
-
Tambling absolutely hates us.
to be honest i dont think thats right .... he just wants a new environment from what i can see.
Well it wouldn't be wise for Richie to be acrimonious as if no deal can be done that satisfies us this week, he's still contracted to Richmond for two more years. That's the other thing if he hated us why agree to a new contract only two months or so ago. He could have hold off contract discussions and walked to the Gold Coast. We would've got a similar pick in the 20s as compo so it wouldn't have made a difference to the RFC as it seemingly will turn out.
-
Damien Barrett just reckoned before a swap of Tambling for Mark Blake would be a good deal for Richmond as "he's a premiership ruckman" ::)

Mackie is 26 so too old for us IMO. He also plays HB so it's not a position we really lack nor can't find in the draft.
Geelong recruiter on 3aw said no club has mentioned Blake's name so Barrett is just being an idiot.

All the players supposedly targeted have been 24 or under.
Cameron said that 20-23 was the age group they were interested in so yes Mackie is too old.

I will repeat Tambling DID NOT sign a contract extension a few months ago
The Club extended his contract at the end of the 2009 season. Coming into 2010 the extension was signed and sealed

With the greatest respect what makes you on expert on Tambling, WP?
your mate there Ritchie is the softest player on our list. He gladfully signed the contract and took the clubs money and then when he hits the field he plays like he doesn't want to be there. He has played the last year like he doesn't want to be there.
He is a 2 faced fool that let a draft selection get the better of his football career. End of story.

daniel I am not talking about his performances this season - you've dragged that into it
The statement was "Tambling absolutely hates us"
I replied to that and that only. My view is and I posted it and that was that IMO and that is nothing could be further from the truth. I added that on top of that I wouldn't take what Nixon said as being what his client thinks... Ricky Nixon makes comments about things to get the best possible deal for .............. RICKY NIXON not necessarily his clients
End of story
When it's all said and done of the bloke wants to leave and people like you daniel want him gone then what does it matter how he goes as long as he goes

WHICH players is your club interested? Trade week began with little happening but here is the low-down after the opening day.
Chris Tarrant (Fremantle): Wants to be welcomed back to Collingwood but there are stumbling blocks. Freo wants a premiership player. Hawthorn and Carlton interested.
Leon Davis (Collingwood): Pies would entertain a trade but clubs aren't knocking down the door. Perth best hope but Fremantle not keen.
Mitch Clark (Brisbane): Wants to go home to WA but Victorian clubs very keen - as are the Lions. Manager says you better have the dollars.
Justin Sherman (Brisbane): Wants to go to the Bulldogs, and history says that means the deal gets done.
Bachar Houli (Essendon): Bombers want him but will trade. The Tigers have an offer on the table.
Setanta O'hAilpin (Carlton): Dogs are sniffing around the Irishman in what could be a surprise deal.
John Anthony (Collingwood): Part of the Tarrant talks - but remember, the Dockers want a premiership player.
Shaun Grigg (Carlton): Out of the Blues and has the Tigers and Suns hot on his trail.
Josh Fraser (Collingwood): Could be, would be, maybe ... no one really knows. Gold Coast a chance.
Jared Brennan (Brisbane): Big dollars required. Gold Coast on pole, Carlton second on grid.
Patrick Veszpremi (Sydney): Welcome to the western suburbs, Patrick. Dogs well placed.
Andrew Krakouer (WAFL): Tricky. Should be listed by Gold Coast, but then will be ontraded to West Coast or Collingwood.
Andrew Walker (Carlton): Adelaide firming. Dogs will struggle to get a deal done.
Sam Jacobs (Carlton): Wants the Crows but Carlton baulking at asking prize. Is he worth pick 14? Doubtful.
Andrejs Everitt (WB): Set to follow in footsteps of his brother Peter by landing in Sydney - Everitt for Veszpremi a chance. Freo sniffing.
David Hale (North Melb): Melbourne and Gold Coast out in front, Hawks emerging from the pack.
Nathan Djerrkura (Geelong): Western Bulldogs keen but if it happens, will be late in the week.
Mark Blake (Geelong): No interest yesterday for the disgruntled ruckman.
Ben McKinley (West Coast): Wants to come home to Victoria and live on either Arden St or Royal Pde.
Jonathon Griffin (Adelaide): Wants to live in Perth.
Matt Spangher (West Coast): Looking for a Melbourne home.
Sam Sheldon (Brisbane): Injuries and limited opportunities cruelled time up north - looking to come home to Victoria.
Daniel Motlop (Port Adelaide): Wants to head west for family reasons.
Brennan Stack (W Bulldogs): Has ties to Western Australia.
Josh Hill (W Bulldogs): West Coast the frontrunner.
Stephen Tiller (W Bulldogs): Wants out of Whitten Oval - mild interest.

The Age's possible trades
Bulldog Andrejs Everitt for Sydney forward Patrick Veszpremi and a late draft pick.
Lion Justin Sherman in exchange for the Bulldogs' compensation pick they received for Jarrod Harbrow's move to the Gold Coast.
Bulldogs could delist and then trade Will Minson, plus the compensation pick they would receive for him, to the Gold Coast, receiving pick 44 and one of the pre-listed players the new club is able to trade in return.
The Dogs may also do a late deal for Geelong's Nathan Djerrkura, possibly for Stephen Tiller.
Carlton wants in exchange for Sam Jacobs, the compensation pick the Crows received for the Gold Coast-bound Nathan Bock - at the end of the first round - but the Crows want only to swap first-round draft picks so they can give Carlton their No. 14 pick and get the Blues' No. 18. The Blues knocked back a straight swap for Adelaide's second-round pick, in the 30s.
Demons would trade their first and second-round picks in exchange for David Hale and North's first-round pick.
The Lions are seeking two first-round draft picks from the Gold Coast for utility Jared Brennan. Talks last night centred on a deal involving Brennan and pick 10 to the Gold Coast, with the Suns giving back pick five and a later first-round pick, possibly pick 20 they could secure from Fremantle in a complicated side deal involving compensation picks and pre-listed players.
Fremantle and Collingwood made no headway in negotiating a path for Chris Tarrant to return to the Magpies. The Dockers inquired unsuccessfully about premiership players Chris Dawes, Tyson Goldsack and Sharrod Wellingham. Collingwood suggested John Anthony, who is open to a trade, and Leon Davis.
Uncertainty over the future of enigmatic forward Carl Peterson and a decision to cut goalsneak Rhan Hooper after just one season has increased Hawthorn's push for out-of-favour Bulldog Josh Hill

First day is always quiet, its a good thing to be quiet. Everyone knows Carlton are finding it hard to keep Grigg and we are quiet. We're holding all the cards. If it came out we're pushing hard for him and offered someone like Collins it can come back and hurt you if it falls through ie: Campbell Brown up for trade then leaves for GC
-
Swans have made an aggressive bid for Sherman. Offered their first pick #21 which is ahead of the Dogs compo pick for Harbrow. Brisbane wants to deal with Sydney now but Sherman wants to go to the Dogs.
-
Ricky Nixon is a hero isn't he. Wanted to do a live trade deal on radio with Fantasia who had just been on the radio before him ::)
-
Fantasia came back on with Nixon and said he's spoken to Sydney and a deal of Everitt for Vezspremi plus the Swans' 4th pick will be agreed.

Swans offer draft pick 21 for Lions' Sherman
SYDNEY Swans coach John Longmire has confirmed his club is making a big play to win the services of Brisbane Lions midfielder Justin Sherman.
The 23-year-old has asked to be traded to the Western Bulldogs, but the Swans have tried to trump the Dogs' offer by putting their first-round selection in the NAB AFL Draft (pick 21) on the table.
"We've spoken to Brisbane and obviously we've got a lower draft pick [than the Dogs]," Longmire said on Wednesday afternoon on afl.com.au's Trade Week Radio.
"We really rate Justin. We understand that his first preference is to get to Melbourne, but we still think there's a bit of water to go under the bridge yet."
The duel to secure Sherman is in contrast to the recent co-operation between the Dogs and Swans which saw Andrejs Everitt and Patrick Veszpremi trade places.
However, Bulldogs general manager of football operations James Fantasia remains confident Sherman will end up at the Whitten Oval.
"We're happy for Sydney to do their due diligence and try and talk to the player," Fantasia said.
"We expect them to do that and also talk to Brisbane, but at the end of the day the player has to agree to a deal.
"I can't speak for Justin, but he's certainly made it clear that he wants to come to the Western Bulldogs, and I think the selection we're offering up is only seven or eight different [to the one put up by the Swans].
"It shouldn't be too much of a sticking point from where we sit anyway."

Is the Tambling deal confirmed OE?
Not officially Stripes but all parties (RFC, AFC, Nixon and Tambling) are happy for it to happen.
Ignore the earlier post about Hawthorn being interested in Motlop. Looks like Hutchy and his spies made it up. Pelchen was just on the radio and said they weren't interested in Motlop.
-
Hutchy now saying the Hawks are interested in Hale, Hill and Goldsack. Hawks are only saying they are interested in the first two.
-
North are interested in McKinley.
Peterson is on "personal leave" away from Hawthorn. The Hawks won't trade him so they've told him it's Hawthorn or no AFL career.

Day 2 summary in the papers this morning...
Collingwood will trade their first round pick 25 to the Gold Coast for Andrew Krakouer
Gold Coast will then ontrade pick 25 along with a swap of first round picks 10 and 15 to Brisbane in return for Jared Brennan
Josh Fraser may be delisted before the 2pm deadline for Gold Coast uncontracted players so he moves to the Suns and Collingwood receive a compensation pick in return.
The Dockers last night were no closer to finalising a deal with Collingwood, which wants Chris Tarrant back in the fold after four seasons with Fremantle.
Port Adelaide is set to sack enigmatic forward Daniel Motlop after receiving little interest in him.
Carlton has remained firm that it wants a pick between 10 and 20 for Andrew Walker, meaning it would require Port's first-round pick at selection 16, although Port's Daniel Motlop may shape negotiations. While Carlton is not interested in Motlop, were Port to trade Motlop to another club there could be a three-way arrangement.
Adelaide ruckman Jon Griffin will go to Fremantle for a third-round choice.
Contracted Adelaide midfielder Tony Armstrong has attracted interest from Hawthorn, North Melbourne and Sydney.
Carlton's Setanta O'hAilpin is on the Dogs' radar, but only if other plans fall into place.
West Coast will axe out-of-contract trio Ben McKinley, Matt Spangher and Beau Wilkes if there are no takers during the trade period. McKinley has attracted minimal interest from the Kangaroos, while Carlton and Hawthorn have a minor interest in Spangher.
The Blues also hold some interest in out-of-favour Collingwood key-position player John Anthony.
Bret Thornton, 26, has asked Carlton to help him find a new club and Hawthorn, which pursued him two years ago, seems his most hopeful destination.
Hawks are looking to offload Rick Ladson, who is contracted for another year, Beau Dowler and Beau Muston.

Gee that's a real win for both the GC and Brisbane.
Still think its strange that the GC can trade a player they've never had on their list. What were the club presidents thinking when they approved the GC concessions?
-
Am I hearing right?
Brisbane get pick 5 and the compensation pick for Josh Fraser
Gold Coast get Pick 10 and Brennan
Collingwood get Krakouer or something like that.
I actually haven't heard what the Fraser compensation pick is, but there is no way it could be an end of first round pick, could it?
-
Yeah thats what I read on big footy
GC get pick 10 + Brennan + Josh Fraser
Collingwood get Krak
Brisbane get pick 5 + JF comp pick (approx 35 I think)
Thats fraud in my book....compo pick for Fraser??? That was just abuse of the system to create trade currency, bit of mutual masturbation going on.
-
Looks to be a third round compensation pick.
Should have been a 6th rounder.
Brisbane move up 5 spots in the draft order and get a third rounder for Brennan.
Gold Coast win out of the deal again.
-
Ahh fair call Wayne, your probably on the cash there.

Sam Mitchel to Essendon for Hooker..........SEN Rumor :whistle
-
Yesterday a rumour on SEN was Pendlebury going to Essendon. Some deluded Bomber supporters making up crap around the traps :stupid
Anyway the Jacobs talks have stalled. Carlton want the Crows first pick #14 but Adelaide has said no. The Crows next pick isn't now till #33 which could be pushed out to #40 when all the compo picks are added.
Goldsack not on the trade table according to the Pies.
-
Carlton need to open there eyes and stop demanding a first round from crows. Jacob is going to walk so by them offering there 2nd round at least it gives them something.

Latest rumour from Adelaide on twitter
Port: Andrew Walker, Pick 53
Carlton: Pick 34 and 2nd Round Compensation Pick

wow GC killing it
It seems GC have exploited the rules smartly once again to give Brisbane more than what was in the papers this morning. GC got Brisbane to agree to release Brennan as a 2nd uncontracted player (remember it was meant to be only one uncontracted player per club) so they could also give Brisbane another compo pick along with Collingwood's compo pick. The trade of picks 5 and 10 were just thrown in to make Brisbane happy.
So the whole trade will be ....
Collingwood: Krakouer, John Ceglar (200cm, 19 y.o.) ..... for ...... Fraser, Pick 25
Gold Coast: Brennan, Fraser, Pick 10..... for........ Krakouer, Ceglar, Pick 5
Brisbane: Pick 5, compo pick (Brennan), Collingwood's compo pick (Fraser)..... for ...... Brennan, Pick 10
So the AFL giving these new clubs license to grab uncontracted players and players from outside the AFL is effectively a licence for them to print picks at will trading these players back to existing clubs. A loophole to the point of being a rort. Having said that GC seem to have some very smart cookies able to grab these new trade and draft rules and exploit them to the tilt.
-
That's not true MT. GC are only allowed to have 1 uncontracted player from each team. Risky was that player. The compensation pick that they're talking about is Collingwood's compo pick.
-

GC weren't allowed to grab/poach/take more than one uncontracted player from each club but because Brisbane agreed to release Brennan as a uncontracted player to GC it's all been allowed. Both clubs exploited the rules.
See here:
THE BRISBANE Lions and Collingwood will receive compensation from the AFL after utility Jared Brennan and ruckman Josh Fraser became the seventh and eighth uncontracted players to join Gold Coast.
Brennan and Fraser signed with the Suns soon before Thursday's 2pm deadline, although written permission was required from the Lions given Gold Coast had already acquired midfielder Michael Rischitelli from the club.
The Lions gave the go-ahead, and the details of the compensation packages are expected to be finalised before the weekend.

Welcome to the new world of the new clubs just printing draft picks out of thin air and pushing all our 2nd round and later picks back further down the draft order. It's clever by GC to exploit the loophole but it's a rort :P.

A slight clause that said only ONE uncontracted player per club whose compensation will be determined by the AFL unless a club agrees to release another uncontracted player at an agreed compensation between the current club of the uncontracted player and Gold Coast.
-
Carlton are ---- heads.
They wanted a first round pick for Sam Jacobs? Are they kidding?
They seem to be playing hard ball, who do they think they are?
I hope all those players leave and Carlton get nothing.
I hope we give Carlton nothing!
Grigg is not worth anything under 60!
Could we get Houli and Grigg through the PSD?
Obviously that means we have to use less in the ND?
:)
Edit: don't avoid the swear filter

That's a strange piece of language.
Where does the "agreed compensation" come from?
If it's from the overall draft pool, then the two clubs can just conspire to get what they want which goes against the idea that the AFL decide on the compensation pick.
Lovely to see this scam on the last second of the deadline for GC listing uncontracted players. :banghead
Presumably now Geelong, Adelaide, Port, Bulldogs and Hawthorn can now decide on picks with the Suns.
-
No problem with Brennen going to the Gold Coast.
He was traded to the Gold Coast, he didn't sign with GC.
He just happened to be uncontracted.
It was probably agreed ages ago that he would go to the GC, but Risha sign before him, so GC would of thought, give up a pick for him?
I don't like this "Pre-List" GC have!
I believe we should be compenstated for, considering we delisted him because he was going to jail.
But then again, he did play last year in the WAFL and we could of ask the AFL to resign him.
Just not happy with the "Pre-Listed Players"??? When was his established?
So that would mean ... GWS can sign one uncontracted player from each 16 clubs, plus "Pre-List" players???
How many can they Pre-List?
-
No, torch. It seems brennan is not traded to GC. GC do not loose a pick, but brisbane gain one, still to be decided which.
This is an extra pick pulled out of thin air that pushes all picks after back by one.
Big difference.

FORMER Hawthorn ruckman Robert Campbell says he still harbours hopes of a return to the AFL, despite being overlooked by Gold Coast as one of its pre-listed players.

New rules from last year allow clubs to swap draft picks without a player needing to be involved in the trade. It allows greater flexibility during trade week as two or more clubs can initially agree to do a trade in principle with most of the player swapping details sorted out immediately while the clubs then go and work on other deals. They then all come back together later on when those other deals are done and agree to exchange draft picks between them to balance things out and make everyone happy.
So the trade of swapping Brisbane's pick 10 for Gold Coast's pick 5 plus Collingwood's compo pick was technically done separately to Brisbane allowing Brennan as an uncontracted player to go to the Gold Coast for which the Lions receive a compo pick themselves. I hope that makes sense.

al, you are correct, which wil you said mate, we get pushed down the order.
Brisbane gave the "OK" for Brennan and The Suns(?) to sign Brennan as another uncontracted player.
Understand and have no issue, it is a win-win for both clubs i guess.
The loser is the clubs that have picks after Brisbane receive their "Compo Pick" for Brennan.

Trade week Day 3 summary
Blues utility Andrew Walker could be heading to South Australia. Port is understood to be considering handing the Blues its first national draft selection, pick 16, which Carlton would certainly accept.
Hawthorn is on the brink of snaring David Hale after trumping Melbourne's offer for the North Melbourne ruckman/forward. Melbourne offered up pick No.32, but the Hawks are prepared to give up the compensation pick it received for Campbell Brown departing to the Gold Coast.
Neither Adelaide nor Carlton was budging over ruckman Sam Jacobs, the Blues insisting on a first-round pick and the Crows offering a second-round choice (around No. 33). The Crows were hopeful a deal would be brokered by Monday.
Justin Sherman may finish trade week where he started it - as a Brisbane Lion - with the Swans told yesterday that he would rather see out the final year of his contract with Brisbane than move to Sydney. The Lions prefer Sydney's offer of pick 21 to the Bulldogs' pledge of a late-20s pick - their compensation selection for losing Jarrod Harbrow to the Gold Coast - but their hand may be forced should the Swans accept Sherman's reluctance and back away.
Talks between Collingwood and Fremantle on Chris Tarrant are also expected to stretch to the death. The Dockers want a player or, at the very least, a mid-range pick. Collingwood's pick No.25 is now gone in return for Andrew Krakouer.
Another player to be pre-listed by Gold Coast - North Ballarat defender Cam Richardson - has told the club he wants only to be drafted to North Melbourne, the Roosters' AFL affiliate.
Nathan Djerrkura remains likely to end up at either the Western Bulldogs or Hawthorn, with the Cats keen to get that deal moving soon.

Trade Talk after Day 4....
Bulldogs want a pick inside 40 for Josh Hill and have declared him a required player and are happy to keep him.
Brisbane will play hardball with Justin Sherman but have entertained a three-way deal that could have Sam Sheldon head to St Kilda and Kangaroo Gavin Urquhart join the Lions.
Fremantle has asked Collingwood for pick No. 43 in exchange for Chris Tarrant, who has said he would retire rather than join another club. That pick is Collingwood's first live choice in the draft. The third-round compensation pick the Pies yesterday received following Josh Fraser's move to the Gold Coast may come into play instead. Fremantle, which traded pick 55 to the Gold Coast on Thursday for VFL defender Peter Faulks, may also end up receiving that choice back from Collingwood, which got it as part of the Krakouer-Ceglar-Gold Coast trade.

Cant sherman just threaten to retire like Tarrant has that seems to be working for him no one will touch him.

Bisbane lose : Brennan + Brennan Compensation Pick (End of Round1) + Pick #10 + Pick #48
Brisbane Gain: Pick #5 + Pick #25 + Pick #27 + Rohan Bewick
not a bad trade there by the lions if you look at this way.
Pick #10 + Pick #48 = Pick #5
Brennan + Brennan comp = Pick #25 + Pick #27 + Bewick

5th Day Trade Talk.....
Collingwood has refused to part with draft pick No.43 for Chris Tarrant. The Dockers have requested the second-round selection, but look increasingly likely to lose the stopper for nothing if they don't accept the Pies' No.55 pick instead. Tarrant will retire if any other club, such as Hawthorn or Carlton, look to select him.
Port Adelaide need to move Daniel Motlop on to free up salary cap space before it can secure Andrew Walker from Carlton.
The Western Bulldogs are waiting on the Brisbane Lions to accept its Jarrod Harbrow compensation pick for Justin Sherman. Sydney has offered a better pick and more cash to Sherman, but he has refused to talk to the Swans.
The Dogs also look unlikely to move Josh Hill to Hawthorn. The Dogs wanted the Hawks' compensation pick which it gave to North Melbourne for David Hale. Unless the Dogs receive the Hawks' second and third-round selections for Hill, the deal will not happen.
Port Adelaide's Jacob Surjan has become the club's latest offer to lure Carlton's Walker west. But Carlton is playing hard ball.
Carlton is yet to finalise a deal with the Crows for out-of-favour ruckman Sam Jacobs.

Trade Talk radio saying Justin Sherman is off to the Bulldogs in exchange for their Harbrow compensation pick to Brisbane.
-
There's speculation today of a Walker-Surjan trade.
-
THE Western Bulldogs have secured Brisbane Lions forward Justin Sherman in a trade deal.
After days of negotiations, the Lions this afternoon accepted the Bulldogs' offer of the Jarrod Harbrow compensation pick in return.
The pick, recieved by the Dogs for losing Harbrow to the Gold Coast, is likely to be in the high twenties.
Sydney had attempted to lure Sherman, but he held firm despite the attraction of a four-year deal at the Swans.
-

Talk of Jacobs being a chance in the PSD for us.
Would be difficult to say no too if he was available. I know were intent on giving Vickery, Browne and Graham plenty of time and for much of the season Jacobs was the 3rd/4th string ruckman at the Blues, but i was extremely impressed with his performance against big Mumy and the swans in the QF.
-
He is hell bent on getting to Adelaide though, whats the point of ambushing a bloke who doesn't want to play for you ?
-
The Dockers have secured Perth player Tendai Mzungu. They traded their pick 38 for the running defender & the Gold Coast's pick 44.

-
SEN claiming the "unknown defender" Pelchen was talking about the other day that Hawthorn is chasing is Lion Daniel Merrett.
-
6th day trade talk....
Geelong defender Jeremy Laidler likely to move to Carlton today.
Dockers said yesterday they would not budge on their demands for exchanging Chris Tarrant because clubs such as Hawthorn and Carlton, who have picks before Collingwood, would pick up Tarrant in the national draft. They believe the Magpies will increase their offer or lose Tarrant. However, the Magpies claim Tarrant would be a handy addition to the club, but not a critical one.
A move for Andrew Walker to the Power also has been complicated by the fact Daniel Motlop could yet remain on its books. But there remained a possibility yesterday that Carlton could pay a portion of Walker's salary next season to get him a new home.
Sam Jacobs' move to Adelaide remains at a deadlock as the Blues refuse to budge on its demand for the Crows' first round selection - No. 14 overall. A deal involving a swap of first-round selections - the Blues have No. 18 - could still eventuate.
Setanta O'hAilpin, who has been linked with Sydney, has asked for a trade.
Other names still on the trade table include Geelong's Ryan Gamble, Hawks Rick Ladson, Beau Dowler and Beau Muston, North's Gavin Urquhart, Richmond's Will Thursfield, Sydney's Paul Bevan, West Coast's Matt Spangher and Bulldogs forward Josh Hill.

Cam Richardson from Gold Coast to North Melbourne for pick 35

Is pick 43 a compo pick otherwise why swap to move up one spot in the draft? ???
The Pies get Tarrant at bargain basement price for a late pick without needing to cough up anything decent. Hmmm so Tarrant has the same (RFC) or a whole round less (Ess) trade value than Houli ::).

Simon Phillips + pick 35 to Port for their compo pick that the Power got for krakouer.
Gold Coast just producing draft picks out of thin air so they can then ontrade them to gain back the compo picks. It's a farce.

-
Collingwood's compo pick for Fraser going west to the Eagles. Pies get pick 45.

unreal stuff with those compo picks...GC is ridiculously OP.
-
scott clayton just ripped 16 other recruiting managers. clayton head and shoulders above everyone else in terms of using the system and winning what he wanted. if we had a window 3 or 4 years down the track, Id suggest that the GCS will be shutting us out. Theres no way any club can compete with the youngsters theyll collect over the next 5 years.
-
GC have owned the trade period. The AFL gifted them 9 first rounders this draft plus all the other concessions and now they've loaded up on picks for future drafts as well.
-
and they just showed GWS how to do it right. So we can look forward to getting pumped next year and the competition can look forward to a barren 20 odd years with these two super powers trashing all comers lol.
-
Geez people going a bit overboard with thinking the GC are going to pick stars with 3 - 4 extra picks in the 20's, 30's over the next 5 years plus picks 50 +
Take a chill pill.
Good result, we have 5 picks in the top 50, have acquired Grigg and will get Houli for free.
Loss of Tambling & Collins negligible.

when your 15th you need to do more than that to improve IMHO. We had to do more but didnt or just couldnt because we're carrying to many dud players who arent worth anything.
-
Remember those compo picks GC traded back for will be higher picks when they finally use them. They now have a mid first rounder plus a couple of end of first rounders up their sleeve to use 2012-14. So effectively picks 10, 19 and 20 in the bank.
The one small positive about GC having hold of more compo picks is our compo pick, 2nd round and later picks won't be pushed as far back in the draft.
