MILLER TIME
Jon Ralph - The Buzz

Richmond's recruitment of Brad Miller, Shaun Grigg, and Bachar Houli this year can only be deemed an unqualified success.
The Tigers seem certain to take Adelaide ruckman Ivan Maric, but are unlikely to make any controversial delistings.
Shane Tuck will sign on for another year, while Miller is a chance to play on.
The club will wait to gauge his interest in playing on, with a role as a development coach also a distinct possibility.
Like most clubs the Tigers will wait until after their best-and-fairest award and maybe even the trade period to announce their delistings.
Don't expect many surprises, with Richmond keen to build their talent rather than trade it off.

I can see a supporter revolt if the likes of Jackson and co. are still on the list by the end of the trade period. A membership boycott could be on the cards.

I like you 10F hope that Jako is gone by October 31.
TBH I think what he is demanding on his new contract won't be fulfilled by the club and if his last 10 minutes on Sunday are anything to go by then he'd be lucky to be retained for a packet of twisties.

Yep the controversy will come from who ends up staying i reckon :lol
-
What is a controversial delisting? Our club is full of spuds, some young blokes and a few good players. Delisting a spud is never controversial...even if it upsets a few coteries ;D

Problem is the ones we think are "spuds" are usually the ones the media think are our better players eg Jackson or Connors...
De-list those types fans are happy experts call it controversial
And stop knocking coterie members ... I am one of those and darn good one too ;D
:yep :yep :yep

I miss the days when coteries were part time list managers :lol

Has to happen WP otherwise we will never be better than a bottom half of the table side.
Jackson got a fair serve this week post match throughout the media. I'm hoping his papers are stamped. Connors too. 20 games in five seasons is nowhere near good enough.

Agree with you Tucker
Point I was trying to make was:
We (fans) see a "spud" get de-listed and think it's great
The media seem to see some of "spuds" as our better players so if they were to be de-listed they'd call it "controversial"

I know WP what you meant. :thumbsup
Always making it worse than what it is. Let them in this case maybe some silly club might see through it and pick one of these spuds up.

Unfortunately this is not the year to be making wholesale list cuts :'( As I have wrote before I very much doubt if we will delist anyone who is under contract leaving very little that is actually out of contract.
The big one really is Jackson, out of contract this season and you would imagine he would be chasing at least a new 3 year deal. We would be mad to offer him any more than one so in theory the best option is to try and h=get a trade done if we can.
I would be furious if the club offered him a contract that exceeds next season.....

I would delist 20. :thumbsup

Agree but would you do it this season or hang out till next ;)

you already know they cant play.
We dont have a magic wand to wave and turn them into champions.
-
Bingo Jackie boy.
That is why what the club achieved on field this year gets a pass mark. When you take into account the state of the list we have done OK.
As for delisting 20, how the eff do you replace them. Use picks 70 -90?
LMFAO

you also said Dimma wouldnt let Tambling go and your mates with Conca.
I think IIRC you claimed he "had a role to play in the team"
Edited: keep the name calling and personal insults off the forum. Dont' agree argue the point - it isn't that hard

Graham
King
Hislop
Gourdis
White
Connors
Hicks
Westoff
Browne.
Miller
Dea
O,Reilly
McGaune
Derrickx ( too injury prone)
Edwards
Astbury.
There is 21 !
Will never ever play finals footy

Derrickx ( too injury prone)
How can a bloke who breaks an ankle when an opponent crashes into to him be deemed "injury prone" ::) ::)

past history says so
also playing 2nds at Claremont in 2009 is hardly a good grounding.
.Would be like playing 2nds at Coburg.
I actually like him , although his resume is hardly one that you would ""go off"' over
-
past history?
LMAO
when did he last have a broken ankle due to an opponent falling on him?
He really only started taking footy seriously a few years ago, but in those three or so years , despite being injury prone, he has found himself at an AFL Club?
WOW, what an effort!
I notice once again you didn't answer the previous question?
-
Guys, just pop into Beefcakes thread and be positive. K?

Yep Relton Roberts found himself at an AFL Club too, big deal.
Mate played with him at Claremont in 2009, hardly set the world on fire.
Got near the ball twice in a NAB game and people here go off, LOL
Before you comment again Al, find out how many injuries this player has had,
Include Margaret River Football Club and Claremont seconds please ::)
-

If he didnt improve he would be out the door,.
so maybe some players that u think are duds still have a chance to improve

Wouldnt think there are any better than average AFL players in my list of 21 above

WTF has that got to do with anything?
you made the statement he is injury prone.
what is his history of being injury prone? when was it ?at margaret river? three years ago?
so a bloke who goes through two seasons with out any significant injury and is then injured by another player is injury prone?
Why do you feel a need to make poo up just to bag the club and slander the players?
-

Just on 2 of them I reckon you're being incredibly harsh
Astbury - only his 2nd season and he has missed more than half the season with a dislocated kneecap and you think he should be de-listed - huge room for improvement in him IMHO
O'Reilly - again 2nd season in game that he to a degree is still learning...please ...if we applied your criteria on the like Keneally at the Swans he'd never played in a premiership
DerrickX - 1 season - deserves a chance to see if he can play
Also you are suggesting we get rid of all our ruckmen in one hit - we have enough problems in that area without willingly creating more...who do you replace them with ::)
-
we will possibly pick up 2 ruckman in the draft.
Also might have to ruck Vickery more often

Farmer - AGREE
Morton - TRADE BAIT, ST KILDA WOULD TAKE HIM
Tuck. - AGREE
Nason - AGREE
Jackson - AGREE
Graham - AGREE
King - COULD BE IN THE BOTTOM 6 PLAYERS ON FIELD ON A GOOD DAY
Hislop - AGREE
Gourdis - AGREE
White - AGREE
Connors - AGREE
Hicks - AGREE
Westoff - AGREE
Browne. - AGREE, ALTHOUGH STILL INCREDIBLY RAW AT 21
Miller - AGREE
Dea - NOT GOOD SIGNS AND ONLY EARLY, HOPE HE TURNS IT AROUND
O,Reilly - AGREE
McGaune - AGREE
Derrickx ( too injury prone) - DISAGREE, HE ISN'T TOO INJURY PRONE EITHER, I KNOW HIS HISTORY AND THAT INJURIES EFFECTED HIM BEING DRAFTED SOONER, BUT CLEARLY HAS TALENT, CAN TAKE A CONTESTED GRAB, CHASE AND TACKLE, INJURIES HAVE ALL BEEN UNLUCKY AND TO DIFFERENT AREAS, WITH A BIG PRE SEASON WATCH HIM IN 2012
Edwards - HAS TALENT & CAN BE IN THE BOTTOM 6 PLAYERS ON A GOOD DAY, DEPTH PLAYER
Astbury. - DISAGREE, STRUGGLED THIS YEAR WITH TOO MUCH BULK AND THEN A DISLOCATED KNEE
