With the Morris and Maric trades all done, what else would you like to see Richmond do at the trade table before the Monday 1.30pm deadline?
-
get a big name
Looks at the Hawks,
over the years they have secured Dew, Guerra, Hale , Gibson, Burgoynne and now Gunston.
-
I'd like to see us get a 2nd round pick back or another 3rd round. Which would probably mean we trade out one of the players that have been listed around the place us up for trade such as Mcguane Connors or even Morton but who know's not many people tipped last year Collins would be traded out.
-
If we can get a trade for Mcguane and Graham that'll top off a big week. Would prefer to keep Morton and Connors. We should delist Farmer and maybe Nason, with Taylor already gone too. Hopefully Moore, Miller and Tuck retire 8)
-
Find a club(s) stupid enough to take McGuane, Connors and Morton off our hands.
-

Dew is a big name? Maybe a fat name. Hale not a big name.
I agree that the Hawks have nailed the recruiting and trading mix.
Hats off to the Hawks, I says through gritted teeth.

Dew - you are kidding me but anyway
And what do we give up in return jack?
Seriously outside of pick 14 and 4 players (Cotch, Dusty, Lids & Jack) what can we give up that satisfy a trade for a big name?
You say we have a list of "duds" but then somehow think those "duds" will get us a big name player - you are dreaming
-
If we had given up what the dawks had ie our first rounder ( no way would they have accepted a second rounder) and downgraded our next two picks, would people have been happy with that?
Should our first pick be on the table for anyone else?
-
secure mcCaffer on the cheap in a trade
hopefully find a new home for the likes of McGuane, Graham, Jackson and Connors(dreamin i know)
get Toovey for free in the PSD
Maric, Morris, Toovey, McCaffer thats 4 new best 22 players for 2012 who are an upgrade on what we have and for potentially very little.
-

Josh Caddy - but pick 15 isnt enough.. and I wouldnt throw our comp pick in
-
i cannot see the club targeting toovey. If he had been on the radio the way he/his manager has played this through the media would turn the tigers off him i reckon.

Facts are that Stuart Dew turned the game in there Grand Final win..
As for trading our players, would look at any player that has a defining year.
I doubt whether Nahas will perform as good again
-
Josh Caddy. Pick 15 + Compo pick. Will complete our midfield and give us the extra grunt that we need.
Do it CC and FJ.
-
Surprise me
-
Need more draft picks. Trading for players should only be a very small piece of the puzzle - most of the work is drafting the right players and keeping a good number of young kids coming through each year - only way we'll really get there in the end. We need some more picks, even if it is a weak draft.
-

Ok I will bite
Tell me if they traded Nahas which "big fish" would that get us

Dew was picked up for free i believe and not a big name. Same as we got Cousins would say we got the bigger name.
Guerra a big name?
Hale cost a compo pick. Would u give ours up for him? Also not a big name.
Gibson cost pick 25 & 41. A second and 3rd rounder. Wasn't even that good before the Hawks got him nor was/is he a big name.
Gunston is a kid. He's not a big name at all. Cost a first rounder and 2 pick upgrades.
Burgoyne is a big name but cost 2 first rounders. If we could get a big name for our first rounder and compo pick then by all means go for it.
-
Happy we got what we came to get and for the prices we set. But I'd be over the moon if we could top it off with another 2nd round back and/or MaCaffer.

Its laughable that the RFC offer Connors McGaune and co up for trade , why ? at the others clubs think they are useless.
offer someone with a bit of currency eg Nahas etc.
And you will be amazed what the other clubs will put on the table ;)
The best trade we EVER done was in 1993/1994 when we traded out Captain( Hoggy) to Fitzroy, for Mick Gale and Paul Broderick.
-
lol.....Your are an idiot :lol :lol Conners and McGuane ASKED to be traded you twit :wallywink :wallywink
-
I'd like Gold Coast's pick 32 and Brisbane's 34
McGuane for 34
Jackson, Morton or Connors for 32
Can throw pick 55 into one of those trades as a sweetener
Gives us 15,32,34,73 + Maric + Morris
Offer Macaffer a juicy contract, pass with pick 73 and take him in the PSD
Thank you very much, thanks for playing
I can effing dream with the rest of you ferals can't I? :P

thought you were going into retirement, JJ? Please do. you're boring right now. delete your account and regroup. then we'll be ready for 'jack is back for the 7th time'.

Pretty spot on there gerks. Its doable and to be honest I can't see us getting a better trade week from what we have than what you've proposed there.
Only other option would be to offer Foley and our first pick for a top 5 pick to GWS.

I asked you if we offered up Nahas what would it get us, what big fish would it land us
As per normal you have failed to answer the question
So I will ask again: trade Nahas for who? Who, which "Big name", big fish would he get us?
Surely you have answer

Yeah but who? Name a decent player that in your opinion trading Nahas could land us
Can you answer it? I would have thought it is a simply question
So I'll ask again Nahas would get us who exactly

There's a few people in here who have too much to say about certain players. These people probably have double chins and kick like girls 8)

I could put up 2-3 players from all clubs, but you would still bag me.

...can we get involved in a trade for Caddy?
http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/young-gun-josh-caddy-keen-to-help-his-dad/story-fn69a32t-1226167500775
...obviously wants to come home & despite nominating Essendonks as his preferred option, might be able to negotiate something...would have to give up a bit by the sound of it but surely we've got some "experienced/bigger bodies" that we could use to sweeten the deal???
...thoughts??
-
I wouldn't mind picking up Caddy but they've rejected Bombers offer of pick 19.
Which would mean we would have to offer our first round or compo pick and at least still add a decent player to the deal to get him. unfortunately I don't think we are in a position to draft away a first round pick and player at the moment.
-
Gold Coast has also stated that Caddy is contracted, required, not on the table, and Essendon can go dildo themselves.

All right let me help you out....Nahas to Eagles for Naitanui. There, that wasn't so hard was it?? :rollin

I will bag you because you wont put up a name = you refuse to answer the question = cowardly
You keep saying Nahas will get us a decent player but refuse to name any player. Why?
I don't care who the players are, I just want you to have the courage to answer the question seeing you said Nahas would get us a decent player

Conversion rate still messing with his head

jackstar has no idea what courage is , everyone here knows that

I would like to see the club make a play for a GORILLA backman, im happy with what they have done so far and with the way in which they have done it.
Unfortuanetly it will be hard as what we may want to trade dont appear to have much value thus far :-[

Jason Gram for one.

Thank you, wasn't hard was it ;D
& Fair enough but I doubt Nahas would be enoguh to get Gram. Would need more I reckon
-
If we got a player similar to Gram, it would free up Lids to become a permanent onballer.
Big problem we have is that we have to play Lids down back, when he should be on ball..
-
Would rather we focus on bringing in midfielders. I think we have enough HBFers to free up Deledio already on the list. If we're going to trade away something significant then I'd rather we're going straight for someone that will immediately add to the midfield depth.
-
bahahahahahahahahaha

I agree but I doubt a Nahas would get you a Gram. It would need to be Nahas & a pick or another player
-
Pass on Gram. He turns 28 in April next year.
I was hoping we could at least trade our way back into the 2nd round or even gain another compo pick but not surprisingly other clubs don't want our rubbish fringe players any more than we do. We needed to offer up a Jacko, Nahas or Kingy who are expendable due to their deficiences but would have some trade currency. However it seems we have re-signed all of them up before trade week.
Going by Craig Cameron at the fan forum we are planning to be big players in next year's trade/draft period with free agency coming in rather than this year where it seems we are/were only interested in filling holes and presumably using our first pick on another midfielder where we need to enhance our depth.
