I warned rfc fans that when BEnny got the job that he was from a failures regime and that he was nothing but another scavenger coming to pick the last lot of meat off the carcus
He would fill the fans head with cheap political like lies and feather his own nest on his climb to the afl CEO job
I refuse to feed and listen to these rogues

Honestly, get your head checked.
Brendan has worked wonders since coming to the club. FTF income, new Punt Road facilities, new Punt Road oval, 50k supporters.
Anyone blaming the CEO or the decision to move the game to Cairns as a reason why we lost belongs in an insane asylum. 15 other clubs in the AFL would go to Cairns and beat Gold Coast 100 times out of a 100.
Players and Coaches responsibility for on field performance, regardless of where the game is played.
-
I reckon the RFC site may crash with user overload ;D

Hi guys, and welcome to the chat with CEO Brendon Gale. Sorry for the delay.

Comment From tigertough1980
The fans are shattered by what we saw on the weekend. Where is the club at right now?
5:20
Comment From Loyal Tiger
What is the mood like with the guys round the club after the weekend?
5:21
It was incredibly disappointing to get beaten last week and we totally understand how our supporters feel. However it doesn’t change the confidence we have in the path we are taking.
We are more competitive than we have been in a long time. We have won seven games and lost another seven by less than 21 points. We have beaten Hawthorn and Sydney so we have seen genuine improvement. There is a lot of football left in this season and we look forward to the challenge as I know our players do.
5:21
Comment From RT_73
Is the club happy with the decision to play in Cairns and give the advantage to the Suns?
5:25
In 2010 the Club opted to play home one home game in Cairns for the next three seasons.
The decision was taken for a number of reasons, one being our weakened financial position and the critical need for the Club to build its financial resources, and in so doing allow us to invest in our football department.
An improved financial position allows us to provide our players with the coaching and resources they require to build on the clear improvement we have seen in the past two years. It will also assist us to be active during free agency, to build the depth of our playing list, and retain our high-quality players.
It is in the best interests of the Richmond Football Club to build our financial strength now, and the decision was based on our needs.
5:26
Comment From Yok
Dissapointing weekend Benny. In all seriousness, how is the debt situation? We far away from a standalone VFL team?
5:28
The Cairns deal, coupled with the Fighting Tiger Fund and our improved operating performance will allow us to make significant inroads into our debt this year, make further critical investments in our football department and bring us closer to our stated aim of a standalone reserves team.
5:28
Comment From Leo Valk
I believe with Dustin Martin in the team, we would have beaten Gold Coast. Instead of suspending/sacking Martin/Connors, a huge fine would have sent them the right message. Do you realize the club punished themselves and the other players, but more importantly, the most loyal supporters of the comp, by suspending Dust and sacking Daniel Connors? Daniel actually gave us the win against GWS! What a way to thank him!
5:31
Another key driver of success is the culture the playing group set and the expectations they have of each other as a result. Dustin Martin did not meet those expectations and as a result has missed the last two games. As with the decision to play games in Cairns, it was a decision that was made with the future in mind and we have no doubt it will benefit Dustin and ultimately this Club.
The expectations of Daniel were made very clear. He has by his own admission had some well-documented issues to deal with off-field and we hope this provides him with the chance to deal with those and get on with his life.
5:31
Comment From Wookie
Is there any chance we could scrap the cairns deal for 2013?
5:34
The Club has made a commitment to Cairns for three years and at this stage we expect to play there next year. We have no plans to play home games interstate beyond 2013.
With the continued development of our playing list, we would expect improved performance to drive key business outcomes and moving forward home games will mean home games.
5:35
Comment From Dimmy
Hi Brendan, how has the club handled the feral so-called supporters today? I hope the poor girl on reception gets a nice cake for her efforts today. ;D
5:38
The disappointment of our fans is totally understandable. I traveled back with the entire team and coaching staff, and as you would imagine they were a very disappointed group. We all were.
The whole Club is bitterly disappointed with the loss last weekend and we won’t be making any excuses. The team had worked its way into a winning position and, as our coach Damien Hardwick said post-match, the players simply didn’t execute as they should have in the final minutes of the game.
5:38
Comment From Sammy_23
It seemed like we were exposed for depth on the weekend. Has our recruiting let us down in the last few years?
5:40
We have a very young playing list and have turned over more than 30 players in the past three seasons and replaced that with talent secured in compromised drafts. Despite that, we believe we have some very good young talent that we will continue to develop in the coming seasons.
Clearly our depth is being tested at the moment and we need to find opportunities through free agency and the draft to improve our list. Our improved financial position will allow us to be active in free agency and we have also beefed up our recruiting department.
5:43
Comment From shane quinert
There is no doubt Damien Hardwick would be furious he had to play in cairns his job is to win games of football and we are told one week at a time so i believe the administration of the richmond football club has let him down by not providing him with the best oppurtunity to win that game of football. We scrapped Darwin lets get out of cairns and get serious.
5:45
The Coach and the Football Department were well and truly involved in this decision understanding the need to invest in their part of the business. There is a very clear correlation between investment in football and the likelihood of success.
These games in addition to other issues gives us the best opportunity to provide them with those resources.
5:46
Comment From Tas
The players were those at fault, in my opinion, for being unable to execute the game plan and ice the game as a team aiming for finals should be able to do. What have they done since the game to address this with one another as a playing group? Good question imo
5:50
Any result is a shared responsibility, everyone has to get better across the whole club. For us to be a great club, everyone has to improve. The players are disappointed and not making any excuses.
5:50
Comment From CotchinBrownlow
Hi Brendan, what's the plan with freeagency approaching. Have we identified deficiencies and looked at available player
5:53
Over the last couple of years we've invested a lot of time, effort and money in to boosting up this part of the business. The recruitment of Grigg, Maric, Houli and Morris bear testament to this - all smart informed decisions.
We have an acute understanding of the profile of our list, and look forward to bringing more players into the club who can add value to our list.
5:57
Comment From Liam
I am fully behind the decision to sell home games as its in our best interest to invest in football and maximise the opportunity for our players to develop at a club where facilities and support are set a standard thats one of the highest in the competion. :shh
5:58
Clearly I agree with your comments Liam. The decision to take up the Cairns opportunity was made in mid-2010 – a season where we were winless until round 10. The latest TV rights deal had not been completed and the development of the Fighting Tiger Fund was just commencing. Given the circumstances, the decision to play in Cairns was the right one. :shh
5:59
Comment From nick
What sort of response do you expect from the team against North Melbourne next Sunday and how large a crowd are you expecting, taking into account the disappoint of Saturday's loss?
6:00
This Sunday is our FTF round where we thank our members and everyone who has contributed to the Fighting Tiger Fund. We would love to get a big crowd there, given our finals chances are still well and truly alive we would love to have a big Tiger contingent in attendance. I look forward to a spirited response from the players.
Just on that, I am going as per usual, Im taking my family and I urge everyone to get behind the club. I know that is hard to ask some of you who have given so much already, but we need to stick by them till seasons end. you will see changes I am sure of it EEA :thumbsup
6:03
Comment From Liam.T
Was Ivan Maric really injured or was he just rested? :o
6:03
Ivan certainly wasn't rested on the weekend. As Damien said after the game, he has had some groin soreness.
6:06
Thank you for your questions, hopefully we've been able to answer them appropriately. We hope to see you at the game on Sunday.
And thats a wrap, :shh

All over now
Don't think they let many tough ones through
I asked that although they banked $500k on the weekend are they concerned that as a result of the cairns game they may lose that in crowd numbers, memberships and FTF donations
Didn't get through but the one MT has highlighted did just makes you wonder :-\

The conspiracy theorists will think no one can get in and the club is pretending to answer questions :whistle
The conspiracy theorists will be too busy blaming god for the weekends loss. I'm just saying. :P
Benny must be really annoyed we couldn't beat GCS two years running. How much of the annoyance must be aimed at Hardwick?

yeah yeah the old cut and paste technique from the RFC
what a load of poo why bother
all fluff questions and the real ones were left out
-
I sent an email to the club replying to Dimma's video from last week.
I got a reply from Emily Moody from the RFC asking me to log on between 5-6 to have my q's answered.
All fair and good but I'm at work at that time.
I'll post my letter. soon. :thumbsup
-
So - this week is the FTF round. Let's hope they show up this time :pray
-
Dear Damien,
I love your work, same with Benny. I think the direction the the club is heading with your leadership is great.
After our awful result on the weekend I would like to make some suggestions.
1. Please never ever play Graham again. Would rather see Browne who has more heart and application thatn Graham play. Graham has failed the club for 6 seasons. Gone.
2. Webberley must never play again. The contempt he held the jumper in with the way he played was appauling.
3.Throttle Dusty's neck. It's one point having stupid footballers on the field but when a gifted and smart footballer on it is dumb as ado-do off it and as a result we lose by 2 points b/c of tough love thus forcing us to play a dumb footballer in a critical game such as this then that's unforgivable. It's like getting suspended in finals and losing the subsequent match which leads me to Daniel Jackson. How this bloke is in the leadership group is beyond me when his annual selfish brain fade costs us in a season fatal way as it did in Cairns for the second year in a row. SO when you throttle Dusty do it with one hand and with the free hand do it to Jako.
4. Connors already gone
Graham bye bye pay the KIng Island Cream Puff out don't ever want to see this heartless player in an RFC jumper again. Not even in the 2013 team poster even if he stays on.
Miller bye bye
McGuane bye bye
Webberley bye bye
Addam Maric bye bye
Matt White bye bye
McDonald bye bye
These players have failed us before and will fail us again.
5. The captaincy must be passed on to Cotch. Newman needs to concentrate on footy leave the leadership to someone who'll have it for the next 10 years.
6. Draft and Trade for a ruckman who'll give Ivan a chop out.
A couple of mids that can impact a game.
Another KPP.
7. I don't care what the Benny and the off field part of the club say and do this week but the on field ie you the other coaches and the players please do not mention us fans or the FTF that the loyal success starved fans have so kindly donated or anything else that you may feel the fans may want to hear after such a galling loss. Instead I have a radical approach to this.
Do something on the field that will return the smile to the Tiger fan's faces like lets say win the bloody game against North. Perhaps some points of inspiration may come from
1. Mick Martin game 2002.
2. Jason McCartney game 2003
See they seem to rise to the occasion when one of their own has a personal milestone or a personal issue.
If the FTF is not a personal RFC issue to the players then it is to the fans who forked out for it.
Furthermore if that doesn't inspire them show them the video of Karmichael Hunt kicking the winning goal for 3 hours whilst giving them plenty.
I hope that these suggestions help in our quest in defeating North Melbourne this week and providing the fans with some reason to smile not like last year when we lost by 103 points to Carlton.
No tokenism this week please.
Thanks In Advance
-
and please Dimma stop all our player copping injuries at the wrong time of the season.

Richmond CEO urges fans to keep the faith after shock loss to Gold Coast
Michael Warner
From: Herald Sun
July 17, 2012
RICHMOND has urged its shattered supporter base to keep the faith.
Tigers chief executive Brendon Gale fronted a fan forum on the club's website this afternoon amid the fallout from Saturday night's calamitous loss to the winless Gold Coast in Cairns.
"It was incredibly disappointing to get beaten last week and we totally understand how our supporters feel. However, it doesn't change the confidence we have in the path we are taking,'' Gale said.
"We are more competitive than we have been in a long time. We have won seven games and lost another seven by less than 21 points.
"We have beaten Hawthorn and Sydney so we have seen genuine improvement. There is a lot of football left in this season and we look forward to the challenge as I know our players do.''
Asked about the club's decision to play a home game in Cairns, Gale said: "In 2010 the club opted to play home one home game in Cairns for the next three seasons.
"The decision was taken for a number of reasons, one being our weakened financial position and the critical need for the club to build its financial resources, and in so doing allow us to invest in our football department.
"An improved financial position allows us to provide our players with the coaching and resources they require to build on the clear improvement we have seen in the past two years.
"It will also assist us to be active during free agency, to build the depth of our playing list, and retain our high-quality players.
"It is in the best interests of the Richmond Football Club to build our financial strength now, and the decision was based on our needs.''
Gale said the club was moving closer to fielding its own stand-alone VFL team.
"The Cairns deal, coupled with the Fighting Tiger Fund and our improved operating performance will allow us to make significant inroads into our debt this year, make further critical investments in our football department and bring us closer to our stated aim of a standalone reserves team,'' he said.
Pressed on the internal suspension of Dustin Martin and sacking of Daniel Connors, Gale said: "Another key driver of success is the culture the playing group set and the expectations they have of each other as a result.
"Dustin Martin did not meet those expectations and as a result has missed the last two games. As with the decision to play games in Cairns, it was a decision that was made with the future in mind and we have no doubt it will benefit Dustin and ultimately this club.
"The expectations of Daniel were made very clear. He has by his own admission had some well-documented issues to deal with off-field and we hope this provides him with the chance to deal with those and get on with his life.''
He conceded the club was being tested for depth against other sides.
“We have a very young playing list and have turned over more than 30 players in the past three seasons and replaced that with talent secured in compromised drafts. Despite that, we believe we have some very good young talent that we will continue to develop in the coming seasons.
Clearly our depth is being tested at the moment and we need to find opportunities through free agency and the draft to improve our list. Our improved financial position will allow us to be active in free agency and we have also beefed up our recruiting department.”
Suns coach Guy McKenna said before the match the Suns were gifted about a five-goal head start by playing in their home state, opposed to the MCG.
Gold Coast’s last start at the G ended in 97-point hammering at the hands of Collingwood.
The Tigers would now need to win at least five of their remaining seven matches to feature in September.

Stupid decision to play home games in Cairns. I said so at the time and will continue to do so until it is a bitter memory. The prospect of playing finals brought members and their cash in droves this year. This money is ongoing and growing but only on the proviso that a finals campaign is in sight. Gale has made a serious strategic blunder and it makes me wonder what other blatantly stupid decisions he has made that we don't know about.
-
Irrelevant where it's played. If you can't beat a fledgling team that hasn't won a game in a year, it's hardly the CEO's fault.
All this loss has done is highlight our poor depth. Personnel changes need to be made to the playing list.
-
Benny Gale's birthday today (turns 44).
I don't think he'll be wanting a card from the footy dept. :nope
-
You have to laugh though and it's laughable that at CEO says we have a young list
So do Gold Coast Benny
-
I love Benny.
Happy Birthday mate-hang in there,u poor bastard.lol.
Even Geez didn't perform miracles for the first 30 or so years of his life.
-
Benny Gale did some serious study when he was head of the ALFPA and it shows in his corporate management style.
The questions and answers were calculated without admitting fault, blame or acknowledging the problems.
I really admire Benny and think his regime is doing a good job - but I really hope that he does not get on the "spin" train, because most corporate spin kings start believing their own spin and lose touch with reality and ultimately fail.
I just want Benny's administration to differentiate themselves from other corporate spin doctors and be honest with the fans/supporters. That means being open & honest about the player's and coaches performances and where they need to improve. The performance last week was a culmination of playing poorly for a few weeks - however we don't get any serious information from the club in regards to what they are doing.
I suppose we put a certain amount of trust in Benny & Dimma to run things and if things are going well then nobody cares about the methods. But when things go awry then they need to be more accountable and explain what there doing or they will antagonize the fans - which is what is happening now. If they want our support then they need to explain the strategies and answer the questions - not put out spin.
I suppose that Dimma is at a disadvantage in that most Tiger fans recognise spin given the previous coach (bad luck to print his name) - and want to support and "stay on the bus" but I feel we need more open communication and information from the club.
-
Agree bpb, speak in normal language benny, it doesn't fool anyone and you will be able to manage just fine speaking more naturally.
