Who will take ‘Jack’ home in 2013?
By richmondfc.com.au
Friday, August 30, 2013
Can Trent Cotchin complete a Jack Dyer Medal hat-trick?
Will Brett Deledio become a triple Jack Dyer Medallist?
Could Daniel Jackson cap the finest season of his 10-year career at Tigerland by capturing his first Jack Dyer Medal?
Is Dustin Martin in line for an inaugural Jack Dyer Medal win.
Or, will it be another Tiger hero, who bobs up to take ‘Jack’ home this year?

Steve Morris
that way no-one except Danog will be embarrassed :cheers
-
It's going to be a tough B&F to predict. My top 5 would be Dusty, Jacko, Rance, Ellis and Houli. Jack, Cotch, Chaplin, Lids and Conca making up the top 10.
-
Ima going for Big Duzza
-
Battle between Houli, Jackson and Martin. Outside chances Rance and Chaplin.
-
theyll give it to jacko.

Can Trent Cotchin complete a Jack Dyer Medal hat-trick? No Dusty is my choice. For the cynical help him to sign up if he hasn't.
Will Brett Deledio become a triple Jack Dyer Medallist? As I said Dusty.

The Herald-Sun's top 5 for our B&F in no particular order ...
Trent Cotchin
Daniel Jackson
Brett Deledio
Dustin Martin
Alex Rance
Can Daniel Jackson beat superstars Cotchin and Deledio to win his first Jack Dyer Medal? He was certainly more consistent. It appears a race in three with Cotch aiming for his third straight B&F and Deledio eyeing a third of his own after going back-to-back in 2008-09. Martin had a super season while defenders Chaplin and Rance could easily make the top five.

Lids doesn't deserve it
Cotch either.
Rance should finish above dedildo.
Martin 4 Th or 5th
Jacko by opportunity.

If Houli finishes top 3 B&F I'll go follow another sport. He'd be warm favorite for 'least courageous' if they gave that award out. Dimma does enjoy the weekly meal Bachar's family drops over to him tho so you're might be right . He might get a few votes for that.
-
1 - Jacko
2 - Rance
3 - Deledio
4- Martin (*** I will accept the award on his behalf if necessary wearing the appropriate dead ferret on my scone*** ;D)

My view is Chaplin will finish above Morris. Morris has had a good year and deserves to be in top ten.

President Gary March has now taken to the stage
Record membership, number 2 in terms of attendance, we passed 1 million attendees for the first time since 1998, had the biggest ever Week 1 crowd of the finals, we are debt free and will record the highest ever operating profit in our history.
A great year in 2013 says retiring President Gary March.

Hardwick getting everyone fired up already for 2014.
Dimma on Richmond players not making All Aus squad: team "places more value on the collective than the individuals".
Single the players out who need to be better! Make us better!
Dimma talking about the crowd on Elimination Final day...amazing.
-
love to know who those players were.
Grigg/Edwards perhaps?

-
Well done and congratulation Dan.
Well deserved after a great season that put the Tigers back on the map.
-
Dustys speech was stuffed. So he wanted to go to gws to be closer to his dad and his dad is now going to move here with him.
If GWS said yes and gave him more money then I'm pretty sure he would've left our club. Dog.
-
Jacko - "Put your hand up if 12 months ago you thought I'd finish in the top 10?"
Questioned himself 18 months if he had what it takes to make it.
Footy isn't what identified him and winning the Jim Stynes medal was a big deal to him. However winning tonight is the best thing that has happened to him. Loves the Club and the people in it. Proud to pull on the jumper.
Praised Danny Daly - restored Jacko's belief in himself and got him kicking goals. Praised the other coaches as well.
Genuinely love pulling on the jumper and running out with the boys. Praised Tucky, Vickery and best friend Jakey King.
Real desire and hunger he hasn't felt before has developed since the Elim final loss.
-
Well done Daniel Jackson
An award to be eternally proud of winning and in years to come the trophy of elite premiership players :gotigers

If Jacko didn't have the year he had he was considering this to be his last year. Teammates got him through. Midway through the year started to relax because his form improved and he knew he would get a game each week and he started enjoying his footy.
Elim final - played tense and we didn't play our best footy. Wants to play in front of a crowd like that again.
-
Big Jacko :clapping never in doubt 8)

Congrats to Jacko :clapping

Congratulations to Jacko then.
Well deserved winner IMO.
Improvement was very evident and to those of you making mockery of him you should be ashamed. The guy has pushed himself hard to achieve more than what his raw talent would have us believe is possible. The guy probably gets peanuts compared to our 'big four' and also probably puts in more effort than 90% of the team. Never shirks his responsibility or goes to ground or fails to contest a loose ball.
You'd think some people hate to see middle-aged players improve the way they cut them down.

should have given the JDM to Troy Chaplin.

while a bit bemused that he won have to admit he did have a good yr so congratulations jacko lets see you you repeat the form next yr and not do the usual tiger thing of dropping back into mediocrity.

What is your point?
I was there listened to his speech, thought he spoke from the heart when it came to his family. What's wrong with that.
Thought it was pretty bloody obvious when called Richmond his HOME he meant it
If you were there maybe you were one of the mindless fools who booed when he mentioned his manager. It wasn't the time nor the place but some knuckleheads couldn't help themselves

Congratulations to him. Did have a very good year and deserved to win it. Need him to back it up next year.

Congrats on a great year Jacko.
Early on in 2013 I thought he was playing well, but was waiting for the old Jacko to rear his ugly head again and go back to the turnover king we all know.
He kept performing week after week though and in the end was a key in our victories.
-
Chimp should have won it. How does a loose man finish in front of our much improved full back.
Jacko did have a good year but it's about time.

Joel Bowden was neglected by the club & pushed out the door. Very sad when a club does that :banghead

So if it's a joke Jacko won it, who deserved it ::)
Its my opinion, get over it. Think Martin, Rance, Chaplin and Morris had better seasons and are more important to our side week in week out, but think he was in our top 5.

Joel Bowden was neglected by the club & pushed out the door. Very sad when a club does that :banghead
Bowdo was a champ. Can't believe the stick he copped/cops and then some of the same people turn around and talk about how good blokes like Houli are.

So if it's a joke Jacko won it, who deserved it ::)
Its my opinion, get over it. Think Martin, Rance, Chaplin and Morris had better seasons and are more important to our side week in week out, but think he was in our top 5.
Garbage. Glorified Ray Hall without the guts or the ability to throw 'em
You be a hater coach

You're hating on the red sack! And to make it worse you say Chaplin had a better season. I'm shocked...no, I'm outraged

EIGHTEEN months after he nearly gave the game away, Richmond best and fairest winner Daniel Jackson has never been more motivated to play a part in the Tigers' assault on 2014.
The 27-year-old said winning Monday night's Jack Dyer Medal in front of a 1550-strong sell-out crowd at Crown Palladium was "the proudest moment of my life".

Where did Brandon Ellis finish. I'm surprised at some of the names in the top 10 given I though Ellis had a very good second year at the club with some standout performances.

Brown low votes is a better indication

Is it? Grigg 3 votes from 6 clangers 20 possy's
I have been a big critic but IM dusty Jackson or Chaplin wouldn't been worthy winners
-
Yes
Total:
Cotchin 19
Martin 16
Deledio 10
AlexRance was superior to Chaplin imo
-
It's all opinion based
I didn't rate cotch as having a B&F type of year

Exactly umpires these days can't umpire the game let alone judge who was best on ground hence the Brownlow has become a midfielders award. I'd take a B&F over a Brownlow any day given the umps probably look at Superfooty to give votes.

B and f underdog and coach pet award
Cotch aint a coaches pet, Jako lamentably was our most consistent performer this year which means blokes like Cotch, Lids, Jack etc need to lift next year. Would love to see Cotch play to 2012 form, Jack to 2010 form and Lids to last years form given the natural improvement and development of our list and we will be a much better side.
When blokes like Vlaustin, Conca, Ellis, Grimes, Rance can finish top 3 in our B&F with Cotch and Lids having great seasons also then we can say we are a bona fide top 2-3 side.

This year’s Jack Dyer Medal winner, Daniel Jackson, has revealed that a mid-year break with some old schoolmates was the catalyst for a positive change of attitude towards his football.
