If McKenna get's the arse as expected, I'd offer him Hackson's job...surely after 4 years with the best kids in the land he'd at least have a pretty good idea of what to look for...

Would love him at Tigerland but as mentioned he is contracted - so he's not an option. Pointless discussion really
And now Sanderson's been flicked he'll probably extend. Have always said I reckon he wont leave the Crows, he is there next captain
But this time next year if he is uncontracted I'd be chasing hard
-
Would the contract clause Paddy Ryder is exploring stand up here is the question.
Dangerfield signed under the assumption Sanderson was the coach.
If he argued that termination had a negative effect on him as a player he can argue the same poor governance clause.
-
not unless he gets cancer in 2 years from Sanderson leaving

Got the feeling form2 Adelaide journos who were on 3aw tonight, some of the senior players and they stressed big name players are happy Sanderson is gone.
Reckon the out clause won't apply
-
It doesn't have to be a health related grievance.
-
forget it.
Who leaves after danger, cting they thought they were playing with him?
Exactly
-
That's not a club controllable issue though, Dangerfield makes the decision to leave, although you are correct, once one goes any can go which we are seeing at Essendon with the other clubs circling.

As Richmond supporters we always brace ourselves before the trade & draft periods. It's a reflex action when you anticipate a car crash.

we live in a constant state of brace

And how do you really think we can get a guy who is still under contract who is already on big money Bents?
Sounds like one of the main reasons Sando went is Danger wanted him out. Now that he is out, there is no reason for him to leave.

Whores, blow and the keys to east Melbourne

Lot of money for a guy who is pretty banged up.

Pick 11 & Vickery. Need a second fwd, post pods. The idea is, that its better to take an offer like that than lose him to free agency
-
Could we trade Hardwick for Dangerfield?

Highest bidder wins :shh

To think the hawks still have over a million dollars to burn this time next year

This is what I don't like about the salary cap changes. What they didn't use this year after not replacing Franklin, they can use next year over the cap.

yes dwaino imagine danger or cotchin at the hawks.

That was in the equalisation meeting things the clubs agreed on this year effective immediately. If a club spends only 95% of their cap this year then they can go to 105% next year, but obviously they can only use 100% max the following year. I think the idea was for junk clubs like Melbourne who don't spend (read: can't afford) their cap can buy a star player the following year. I expressed my dislike for it at the time because you will find top clubs will notice players like Dangerfield and Cotchin coming out of contract and spend unders. When the time comes they will have spare cash to chuck at these players then retain them the following years by delisting and retiring players. You can argue that every club can do this but all of the sudden clubs like Geelong and Hawthorn can join Sydney by offering a bit of extra coin and the opportunity of playing top 4 or a flag.

You don't think we haven't got $$$ in the war chest.

Crows won't rule out letting Dangerfield fly from the nest

ADELAIDE board member and powerbroker Mark Ricciuto hasn't ruled out trading Patrick Dangerfield.
The 24-year-old Victorian will qualify for free agency at the end of 2015, and a trade this off-season would ensure the Crows get appropriate value from their superstar.
So far Dangerfield has publicly indicated he wants to remain at the Crows, but speculation about varying discontent within the playing group has intensified since coach Brenton Sanderson's shock dismissal.
"At the moment we've got a few things going on. Once we get that right I'm sure Paddy Dangerfield will want to be a long-term player with the Crows," Ricciuto told AFL.com.au on Monday.
But asked directly about the possibility of a trade, Ricciuto was clear.
"I didn't say there'd be no chance, and I didn't say we'd trade him. What I said was we have to get everything right so that it's a fair call to ask him to stay long term,' he said.
AFL.com.au understands Dangerfield is not considering a move away from the Crows, despite the persistent speculation.
Dangerfield told the Nine Network last Thursday that speculation about his future - and that of teammates Taylor Walker and Rory Sloane - at the Crows was "ridiculous"
"In terms of discussing my contract ... it's premature. We're in a transitional period with our coach and it's not something that needs to be discussed," he said.
"I love the city, I love the club, I love playing there. And that's all that needs to be said."

ADELAIDE midfielder Patrick Dangerfield says it is completely in the hands of the club as to whether his name is raised as a trade option.
The 24-year-old Victorian will qualify for free agency at the end of 2015, and a trade this off-season would ensure the Crows get appropriate value for their superstar.
So far Dangerfield has indicated he wants to remain at the Crows, but speculation about discontent within the playing group has intensified since coach Brenton Sanderson's shock dismissal last week.
But the dynamic on-baller says many comments have been well off the mark.
"It's all speculation. Anything can be written but at the end of the day, what's said and done behind closed doors is a different thing," Dangerfield told AFL.com.au.
"It's up to (list manager) David Noble and the rest of the recruiting staff (whether I'm traded)."
Dangerfield said he understood conjecture about his contract would only intensify the longer he remained unsigned.
"It's only going to get worse," he said.
"I'm contracted for the next 12 months, as are Sloaney (Rory Sloane) and Tex (Taylor Walker) so it'll all work itself out."
