Title: What will it take to get you to go back to the footy ?
Post by: Phil Mrakov on April 12, 2015, 09:06:06 AM
After yesterdays circus act what will it take to get you to go back to watch the Tigers again? Will you be there against Melbourne or will you silently protest? In my opinion I think the OER forum tigers should organise to sit out the remainder of the season in an attempt to show the club we won't accept this shyt anymore. We all know what is coming, we will win meaningless games and finish 7th or 8th and lose the elimination final yet again. Claw was right we are a middling side at best with a full uninjured side to choose from. Not good enough. Various forum members should actually apologise to clawski

Benny Gale and Peggy be on notice and do something ! Richmond will never have success again unless we get aggressive

Have more of a sook mate ^. We are all Richmond supporters here. After travelling a couple hours to get to the game yesterday, I was extremely disappointed. I guess the sad thing is that I wasn't surprised. Talk ourselves up saying Dimma feels something special this year and the players feel it too... Go out on the field and actually make it happen. Not much has changed at tiger land

Play on play on tackle, jack R poos me, every top team when they take a mark 40 out they turn quickly to look for a better option, jr is insipid, trade his ass, we need a total cleanout.

I went with my son, he just looks at me and we wonder how to break the "team you barrack for "contract,

dogs played with passion and intensity, something is wrong at tigerland, players dont respect the coach? Players dont respect the selection panel? Players dont respect each other?

Who knows?

I think ivan has lost his leadership role (although not official) , our turnovers were shocing, if we didnt have dusty and rance and if the dogs had kicked straight would have been 60 points.

The final scoreline was very flattering to Rfc.

I will be playing golf sat and sundays from now on.

I'm going to the game. Still love my club still love the sport even if it's not as aesthetically pleasing anymore.

Gets my brother, dad and I together too. We all live separately now so it's good family time 😊

Instead of bypassing games and choosing not to support the club why don't you all protest by deleting your OER accounts? That could work...

It's called freedom of speech. We still don't have your take on the game HRT. Your happy to pump us up after a win but always very quiet after a loss.

Why don't you be honest with what you watched yesterday, or are you going to keep on hiding behind labeling others?

The Lions will beat us. and if we do beat them then so what? Not like they're a good side. It will take a lot to get me to go and watch them again this year.

We are going nowhere. I laughed at claw but now I agree with him, we are forever a middling side. Time to act

I have no problem with the sentiment behind the criticism of players, coaches and at times the club.
I'd be regurgitating most of it - I tipped the Bulldogs and ostensibly the reason Hardwick would say why we lost.
So it's not that hard to see - a moderate interest in the Tigers and anyone can see the challenges.....
The abuse that comes with it is just rubbish and the baiting of supporters who don't buy in (for whatever reason - it's a forum Dooks) is unnecessary.

I'd say quasi intellects post with the knowledge we are not that good because it satisfies that narcissistic need to be right.

But it's not that hard to see......

Have you ever been out with a girl or the missus & your having a great time downing a few drinks & she's letting her hair down & starts to tell you how hot you are & how horny she is & your getting pretty excited at the prospects on how's she's gonna perform once she's taken you home.....

Then you finally get home & she's throwing up out the passengers door & you carry her to the bed & she passes out.....

Situations like these is when you just have to take matters into your own hands...

Richmond FC are the ultimate cock-tease.

I suggest going to your favourite man cave with your Richmond socks, RFC doona & a box of Kleenex and wack in the '80 GF in the VCR and enjoy yourself.

Yeah I know that your one of the ones who accepts mediocrity and just likes going to the footy to get out of the house. You don't care to much about result

We need to take action and put a stop to this rubbish being served up now. Imagine the players playing infront of opposition fans only. Now that would be a statement. Us supporters we own the club

It was a game we had to win. It was a game that we should have won. It was a totally unacceptable performance. It showed up clear defects in this side. I admire your attitude. I just hope the club show some respect to its supporters by putting in for the rest of year.

I'll be there when I can. Last year I only went to a few games due to other commitments and priorities.

This year I'll go to more than last year. A win is always good, but personally a loss like yesterdays is like a train wreck - I can't look away. Dissecting the reasons why we win and lose is important to me and I'll continue to call champions champions and poo trucks poo trucks. The club has to be held to account.

Anyone don't like that, tough poot

What I cringe at is when people get personal.....damn it we are here for the same thing ,we barrack for the same team.If we unite just maybe the club will listen to just a little bit of what we say.
We the supporters have put our hard earned into theclub in droves once again,we cant do  anything more.Itsnow time for Benny and the gang to  turn the heat on the players and the football department. We the supporters  have done our bit.Its your turn now RFC

But it's not that hard to see......
i actually agree here. most people can see the weaknesses the short comings the lack of talent. the lack of intensity  the lack of effort and on and on. yet far too many see them but go out of their way to defend them when people rightly criticise whats going on.

not sure if your having a go at me with the quassi intelectual comment or not. personally i just comment on what i see  ive never ever seen us as a top 6 side we have always been middling to worse imo and that wont change on the back of a few wins or scraping into the 8, even finishing 5th in a yr doesnt mean your a top 3rd side other more important factors determine that.
it will all  only change when get our recruiting right our list management right and we actually build a list with ENOUGH QUALITY AND DEPTH  TO MAKE US A CONTENDER.
a blind man can see the holes in the list yet people defend the club after how long. a blind man can see how poor recruiting has been under fj yet people defend him. and it goes for everything about the club. the poor thats been there for a long while and  very obvious is for god knows what reasons vigorously defended by far too many.

personally i dont care if i upset people with my observations i call it as i see it and i will continue to do so. i am attemting to not get roped into slanging matches with certain posters because at the end of the day all it does is 1 get me into strife and 2 most importantly detract from the points being made.

The truth is and its been the case for many yrs, we play a poor brand of footy . we are clearly front runners  and back yard bullies, we struggle to play pressure footy and we fold when its applied. we have half a dozen or so players who are expected to carry the side and usually when they are  held  we fold.  its been the case for as long as i can remember.

just to finish the most annoying part of it all is this. we all know sides like us have had to go thru rebuilds but i am yet to see us complete a rebuild in the last 30 odd yrs. i am yet to see us build a list capable of sustaining any sort of success.  build the list then look at the results. not the other way around.

What id really like to see is some rule interpretation that makes flooding, zoning back and other soccer like defensive measures useless or weaker than they are now. But at the moment stopping the other team scoring is the prime concern of most teams cos it wins flags. Last years finalists only port were playing attacking footy.

Up for my morning constitutional and thought I'd drop by. I've been RFC free for 2 years now and never felt better. The AFL and RFC fraudsters aren't really to blame ......it's like jumping into a snake pit and complaining when you are inevitably bitten. It's the sheeple who continually show up for this punishment (and part with their cash) who perpetuate this swindle

But in the end it's just a a bunch of egoists organising a game where the inflated skin of a dead animal is kicked around a circle....there is more to life than this...move on.

Agree no more until we make some personnel changes, people who keep going and keep paying to "support the team" just perpetuate this whole vicious cycle by not making them accountable for their actions. Tiger supporters are too loyal and it's done more harm that good ultimately

I thought since your tanty a few years back you would have went and supported another side.

You seem like the type, Hawks are going well at the moment

Where's the tantrum? I liked it better when you were gone.

I get much more enjoyment out being involved in local footy than this, and have for a while now.

was planning to go to melb later in the year to catch a game, but after last night not sure, though the main reason for heading down may still apply .

Not spending the money just to watch this mob live though, as you cant even pick a game that they should win and be comfortable about it happening.

what you only go to the games you know we will win. That's taking the excitement out of the game AL. Richmond v Collingwood would be the game to see. l pray we will beat them this year  :pray  :pray :pray  :snidegrin

when you need to fork out $500 odd dolars for the airfares, yeah I selectively pick my games. Even then, there was a period of time where i had not seen a richmond win live for a bloody long time.

Poor old smokey got burned this weekend, but he also had a good reason to be down there besides the footy

Win lose or draw will be there.
Players are mentally weak as is the coach.
Club is a failure, however will be there nonetheless.
I'm not a martyr or a warrior far from it.
My support is not conditional.

Lol TM.  Worst game of football I've seen them play in a long long long time.  Thankfully the rest of my weekend home was well worth the effort and money!

I'm not sure AFL is enjoyable anymore. Definitely not for the players in 17 of 18 clubs. Flooding, zones, high rotations are killing the game as a spectical. The hands in the back rule has been the best rule in 10 years, since the 50m penalty.

But all this protecting the head, no sliding in to the ball type rules are just crazy and these rules are being put in because of the way the game is played and coached now. If anything they should be have a raising the arms rule so when Joel Selwood raises his arms and the tackle slides up then he doesn't get a free. Like the ducking the head rule.

Maybe that last moment didn't come out right. My point is the rules on endless rule changes are a response to the coaching and it's the coaching that's crook

Enough is enough, I've made a decision to not go again until we have a new coach and I'll stand by it. I don't care if we do another 3-10 and 9 in a row, I'm not going until D.Hardwick is out the door

Either sack the coach or play the kids. Preferably both.

TRUE TOUGHNESS.

Haven't seen anything close to it since 1994/95 besides Howat vs Barnes in '96.   :thumbsup

It makes me sick to the stomach now how soft we are.

Eliminate flooding!
Go back to 20 V 20 with just 2 interchange players & 4-5 interchanges per team, per quarter.
Endless waves of refreshed players & a sub make it too easy for 36 onballers to follow the ball around for the whole 120 minutes!  It is ruining the slower strong bodied but highly skillful footballers, destroying forward play & making ruckmen into a liability!

No chance. Time with my kids wins out over watching these flogs.

This club can get stuffed and I hope they get 25k there today to realise how much of a joke they would be without the supporters

I'll be there too.
Looking forward to seeing McBean. I really hope he has a long career and can help Jack out and they become a real foil together for years to come.
I just hope Dimma plays him deep and let's him do what he does best and that's lead up at the footy. He isn't going to out muscle guys so he need space and he needs the ball coming in quick.

4 quarters every week like today's '2nd quarter' will get supporters turning up. The problem has been we've dished up too many 'first quarters' like today most weeks which turns supporters off.

stuffen like whoa , that's one for the ages , knocked off a top 3 side and out the, on their backside with 6 players that haven't played 10 games. We can build on this and if we can win our next three, we re back on track  :bow

Back on track??  If we win our next three we will be flag favourites and that ain't gunna happen in anyone's deluded world.  We still made a shedload of juvenile mistakes today, let's not get carried away.
