Me. I like watching Richmond play

Must win game! :lol

I'll watch and I'm expecting the performance of a side capable of winning a couple of finals. That is where the club thinks we should be at, is it not?
TIGERS BY 36 PTS PLUS OR WE ARE POO MERCHANTS

geez dookster thats being a bit lenient. if we were a genuine top 4 side we would win this by 80 plus points coming off an unforgivable loss.reckon if hanley and rockcliffe play they would run us pretty close. they also lack tall fwds and they have lost their two most promising ones in close and freeman.
-
Yep anything less than 50 is just poor. They're too quick for us which will hurt but surely we'll have the skill to get over the line
-
C'mon, surely the round 1 win against the cheating scum is enough to have us on cloud 9 for a few weeks.
My feet haven't touched the ground. :dancing
Lets not expect anything from this mob, accept mediocrity & the odd win against the scum cheats when it doesnt count.
:rollin

Match preview: Lions v Tigers
Michael Whiting
afl.com.au
April 15, 2015
SUMMARY
It's still early in the season, but it's already desperation stakes in this battle of the big cats. Richmond has split its first two matches but is coming off a disappointing loss to the Western Bulldogs, while the Lions have been soundly outplayed in both of their contests, particularly the last-start hiding from North Melbourne. Brett Deledio is racing the clock to return from a calf injury for the Tigers and would be a huge boost, while the injury toll is starting to mount for the Lions following the season-ending ACL injury for young forward Michael Close. Richmond has owned this contest over the past decade and will start warm favourites again here.
WHERE AND WHEN: Gabba, Saturday, April 18, 7.20pm? AEST
LAST FIVE TIMES?
R16, 2014, Richmond 12.7 (79) d Brisbane Lions 7.12 (54) at the MCG
R5, 2014, Richmond 15.16 (106) d Brisbane Lions 9.9 (63) at the Gabba
R20, 2013, Richmond 14.13 (97) d Brisbane Lions 11.8 (74) at the MCG
R19, 2012, Richmond 20.12 (132) d Brisbane Lions 12.12 (84) at the Gabba
R13, 2011, Richmond 18.17 (125) d Brisbane Lions 14.10 (94) at the Gabba
THE SIX POINTS
1. Richmond easily accounted for the Lions in both 2014 contests. In round five they won every statistically category with ease on the way to a 43-point win, and despite having equal scoring shots in round 16, dominated the disposal count 438-376.
2. There was a statistical anomaly in the Tigers' round two loss to the Western Bulldogs. The won the disposals 403-326, marks 113-83, free kicks 30-13 and inside 50s 54-48, along with a heap of other stats, but still rarely looked like winning.
3. Richmond has dominated this match-up, winning 24 of 42 games, with one draw. It has won the past seven matches in succession over the Lions.
4. It wasn’t pretty for the Lions against North Melbourne last weekend, losing every major statistical category. They lost disposals 401-305, marks 91-78 and inside 50s 58-45 in the 82-point loss.
5. The Tigers have their time at the Gabba, holding a 9-8 head-to-head advantage, including the past six. The Lions have not beaten the Tigers there in more than a decade.
6. Alex Rance just gets better and better. After his 28 disposals and 13 marks against the Bulldogs, the Tigers' key defender jumped to a career-high 66th in the Official AFL Player Ratings. He is fourth amongst key defenders, and closing quickly on Josh Gibson, Harry Taylor and Michael Johnson.
IT'S A BIG WEEK FOR
Dayne Zorko. The Lions' vice-captain gave his teammates a real serve after last week's 82-point loss against North Melbourne, saying they couldn't follow instructions and weren't playing like a team. He is likely to captain against the Tigers in the absence of Tom Rockliff, and after his own poor display against the Kangaroos, will be desperate to lead by example.
PREDICTION: Richmond by 17 points

We win disposals, marks, free kicks and inside 50's and lose. North do it and win massively. If a nothing club with no heart like North can blow a team out why can't we? Can't even win FFS
-
Every team has bad games. Every one though hawks were the best going round raving how they smashed geelong and then they lose to Essendon.
It's about how you bounce back. Thats what matters. You can bet hawks will have a good one against the doggies because good teams bounce back strong, lets see what we are made of.
Expecting a huge win against Brisbane, wouldnt be happy with anything less than 40 points really, but more importantly we all wanna see us playing well.
We wanna see direct, fast footy. No chipping around bull crap. We wanna see Cotch taking the game on, dusty kicking goals, jack taking speckies etc.

8 point game. Must win this

BRISBANE LIONS v RICHMOND
(http://s.afl.com.au/staticfile/AFL%20Tenant/AFL/Files/Images/Rd26.jpg)
HOT: Dayne Zorko is the Lions' top-scoring player against the Tigers, averaging 14.5 points from his eight games against Richmond. Star Tiger Dustin Martin was the fifth-highest scoring player in round two with 24.4 points. He kicked one goal, had three score assists and laid six tackles to complement his 31 touches.
COLD: Lions onballer Jack Redden reached a career high of 38th overall, but currently sits at 109th in the competition and ranks 14th at the club for points scored this season. Tigers spearhead Jack Riewoldt places 92nd in the overall standings – well down on his career-high of No.23.

maybe just maybe the indicators are right and we really are a poor side as well. just a thought.

Brisbane Lions and Richmond eye off redemption after last week's disasters
Vince Rugari
The Age
April 18, 2015
If good teams respond immediately to bad defeats, Saturday night's meeting between Brisbane and Richmond at the Gabba should answer a lot of questions.
After both suffered stinging losses last weekend, the Lions and Tigers are both keen for a dose of redemption.
Of the two, Richmond lost the most stock with their 19-point failure against the Western Bulldogs, which has again raised perennial questions over the mental strength of Damien Hardwick's outfit and the legitimacy of their top-four aspirations.
Assistant coach Ben Rutten is not just hopeful, but expectant of a completely different performance from the Tigers.
"Reviewing the game, we were really disappointed with just some of our fundamental errors and basic sort of mistakes," he told Fox Sports. "The good teams respond really quickly and we're going to be no different.
"Brisbane are going to be hungry. It's a good chance for us to get away as a group and we're looking forward to a much more aggressive, physical response from our boys.
"It's a great opportunity for us to be able to respond on an interstate trip."
The Lions, meanwhile, are still reeling from a belting at the hands of North Melbourne and in just two weeks, have gone from genuine finals hopefuls to potentially staring down the barrel of another forgettable year.
History suggests their fortunes won't flip this week against Richmond, who they haven't beaten since 2009.
But then again, the Tigers have won just one out of nine games without midfield star Brett Deledio, who will miss the trip north due to an ongoing calf complaint.
"It's not as if they've belted us in any one particular game over the years, but we just haven't been able to get over the top of them," Lions coach Justin Leppitsch said. "One thing we have to instil in this group is consistency.
"A lot of the things we do, a lot of other teams are doing as well. They're just doing it a little bit better.
"I think the planning itself is fine. We just have to make sure the implementation is good and under pressure we can still think through that."

Just want to see some overall intensity, workrate on the spread and in transition both ways, plus directness going forward tonight.
Game about to start.
-
Morris starting in defence. Well that thnakfully is the end of the forward experiment.
-
Free to us and it ends up with Griffo outside 50. BOOOOOOOOM = GOAL! :gotigers
Rich 6
Bris 0
-
12 nil :gotigers
-
Ivan dominates Stefan Martin. Edwards to Cotch off to McIntosh who snaps a goal :gotigers
Rich 12

We get it forward again but Brisbane clear and go coast to coast through the centre of the ground for a goal. Where's the pressure Tigers? :banghead
12 - 6
-
Newy inside 50. Ellis can't keep his feet. Brisbane clear.
Vlastuin gets it back and Hunt goes towards Jack but it's spoiled.
A Lions' player handballs straight to Newy 45m out but he's kick to the top of the square is spoiled.
McIntosh gets it back and Ellis' snap hits the post.
Rich 13
Bris 6
-
Stupid miles
-
A bit of a barny. Christensen gets 50 but his kick from 20m out misses :lol.
Houli to Newy spots up Grigg. To Jack. His kick to Gordon is contested and Brisbane clear.
13 - 7
-
How are we not in the lead?
-
Brisbane goal.
13 - 13
The defensive pressure switching back to defensive transition is non-existent. It's a shootout at the moment.
We get it forward but Brisbane rush a point.
14 - 13
-
Redden tagging Dusty.
Flossy gives away a dumb free off the ball. We get it back. Dusty to Houli to Hunt to Chaplin to Edwards. He tries to hit Knights but it's spoiled out of bounds.
Cotch to Hunt and Morris marks up forward now. 45m out directly in front. Goal :gotigers
Rich 20
Bris 13
-
Morris running back to defence.
Free to Grigg for being held. Inside 50. Jack comes from a long back but can't mark. Brisbane clear.
Hunt to Knights who goes for it but it falls short and is marked by a Lion on the line.
Batch to Houli to Grigg on the wing to Cotch who chips to Jack. Cops some late attention but no 50 ::). Outside 50 kick lands just short and is rushed through.

Shocking Brisbane turnover (grubber kick) gifts Cotch a goal :gotigers
Rich 27
Bris 13
-
Under pressure but it's a free to Morris in defence. Off to Batch but his kick to Grigg is intercepted. Thankfully Brisbane turn it back over toe Chaplin. McIntosh pumps the ball long and Jack marks on the boundary 45m out.
Cotch and Gardiner going at each other but the ump sees nothing. Tiger Army not happy.
Jack goes to the top of the square. 3 Lions go up and spoil each other and Griffiths snaps it through for goal but the Lions claim it was touched. Hardly definitive ::) it was touched but the review said it was.
Rich 28
Bris 13
-
Sounds like a highly skilled match of football as played by two of the Giants of the modern era.
-
Now in Brisbane's forward line. Flossy's kick is smothered but we blindly boot it out there. Brisbane gets it back but Rance marks the kick deep in defence.
Dusty to Miles across HB. Up the line to Gordon. Goes long and Jack flies but the ball hits the ground. In dispute with sloppy footy and it's a free to the Lions.
We get it back and Cotch goes long but it's marked by Stefan Martin. Beams kick is terrible. Flossy goes long but Brisbane end up with the ball again in our forward line :scream.
Brisbane kick into their forward line is marked by Chaplin. Off to Grigg who almost turns it over. Cotch passes inside 50 isn't great but the Lions' defender deliberately out of bounds. Free to Griffiths but his shot misses everything.
Brisbane go forward and it's a free to them just outside 50. Wobbly ball ends up with Dusty to Cotch to Knights. Back to Cotch (shouldn't have called for it) who goes to Jack but he's hot and Brisbane clears. Brisbane forward again and from the throw in with 23 secs left, Zorko marks it just before the siren. Goal to Brisbane :banghead.
Quarter time.
Richmond 4.4-28
Brisbane 3.1-19
Goals: Griffiths, Cotchin, McIntosh, Morris
-
How are we not 6-7 goals in front?
-
Ivan 'No Impact' Maric.
-
Sadly, Ivvy is getting touched up again
-
Brisbane are rubbish. If we were cleaner into our fwd 50 we'd be 4-5 goals up.
Cotch had been good as has Hunt.
Maric is a worry. Just looks really slow and no spring in the jump whatsoever
-
Ivan 'No Impact' Maric.
NIMP- ACT for short
-
Stats:
Cotch 12
Hunt 9
Grigg 8
Gordon 6
Edwards 6
Chaplin 6
Newy 5
Miles 5
Ellis 5
Up in most of the stats except hitouts and handballs.
16 to 9 inside 50s and 5-1 in centre clearances.
-
If we were cleaner into our fwd 50 we'd be 4-5 goals up.
This!
2nd quarter has started. Brisbane go bang out of the centre but thankfully it's just a point.
28 - 20
-
Flossy does the kick but Stefan Martin edges Ivan out of the way.
We get possession back from the kick but then kick it straight to a Lion 45m out :banghead.
28 - 26
-
Brisbane has lifted and we've gone to sleep :banghead.
Grigg to Edwards. Blind kick rolls out of bounds. Dusty kick to HF goes to Rich. Brisbane get it forward but it spoiled by us and it's a point.
28 - 27
-
SEN bagging our coaching staff for allowing Rich to set up all alone behind the ball at HB as a 'quarterback'.
-
It's all Brisbane this quarter. We can't clear it out of defence. Back to going in our shells ::).
Batch stupidly dumps Zorko off the ball. Gives them a set shot. Kick is shanked luckily.
Cotch to Chaplin to Ellis in the centre. To Knights and he gets one against the run of play :gotigers. Welcome back Knightsy.
Rich 34
Bris 27
-
I don't normaly bag the umpires but we are seriously getting shafted on the 50/50's and getting doubly shafted in the obvious ones.......sheesh!!

12 to 6

Should be quite an even match considering they're bith poo teams.
-
Miles to Morris in the centre but Brisbane gain possession.
McIntosh gets it but kicks it into the man on the mark and it's goes out of bounds.
Houli hurried kick into the middle but Brisbane have the numbers. Ellis intercepts back in defence sitting in the hole. Towards Newy but it rolls out of bounds.
Houli to Cotch under pressure handballs to space. Brisbane get it but they muck around with it and the final kick is marked in defence by Houli.
Geez both sides are playing kick to kick :banghead.
Houli free and finally we find a teammate in Edwards. Miles to Edwards towards Newy off to Astbury to Dusty inside 50. Brisbane though get it and clear.
Cotch crunches Robertson. Newy down as well.
Morris to Miles out wide to Chaplin to Hunt to Astbury who has gone forward. Towards Gordon but it's spoiled out of bounds.
Miles wobbly kick to HF. Astbury to Knights to Gordon down the line to Dusty and it's out of bounds again.
Grounddog day this quarter.
-
Martin needs to do more.
Any danger gordon could hang onto a mark?
-
Houli goes wide to McIntosh off to Hunt (smothered). Gets it again to Newy who misses to hte left.
Rich 35
Bris 27

Poor kick-in by Brisbane but Beams plays for a free that wasn't there and we get robbed of a certain goal as we had a set shot. Thanks ump :banghead.
-
Knights might be injured again :(. Limping and walking around the boundary.
-
Knights injury who would have thought that would happen ::)
-
Rance to Astbury inside 50. Griffiths and Jack fly but Brisbane clear again at ground level ::).
Brisbane run it down for a point.
35 - 29
-
Grigg to Griffiths. Inside 50. Jack edges outside his opponent and Dusty goals :gotigers. Finally a cost-to-coast to us.
Rich 41
Bris 29

Inside 50s this quarter: 8 - 12 but we've kicked two goals to their one.
Bad mistake by a Lion defender (Maguire) who drops a sitter and Newy gets another :gotigers.

So Lloyd subbed in.

Our footskills are poot

Flossy free at HB. To Griffiths on his own. His pass to Edwards bounces and misses the target and Brisbane clear. They get a point out of it.
53 - 29
27 mins Q2
Blood rule - McIntosh off.
-
Who's on beams?
-
Edwards to Grigg to Dusty. Goes long to the square but the Lion defence gets to the boundary 15m out. A clearing Brisbane kick from the throw-in goes straight over the line but not paid deliberate. Now a ball-up.
Finally we get a free. Maric on the wing. To our HFF and it's out of bounds.
Dusty bowls Robertson over and gives away the free. Rance however marks the kick at HB.
Throw-in to us at HF/wing. Siren!
Half-time
Richmond 4.4 8.5-53
Brisbane 3.1 4.5-29
Goals: Riewoldt, Griffiths, Cotchin, McIntosh, Martin, Morris, Newman, Knights.

53 to 29. Probably about where it should be.

Who's on beams?
What's on Rich?

53 to 29. Probably about where it should be.
Agree Dooks 1000000000000000%............... :whistle
-
Kicking efficiency of 62%, only thing saving us is that they are kicking at 58%. Shocking stats and almost not at AFL standard, dont think i have seen before so many missed targets and kicking into the man on the mark in one game. We are definitely a mid table team on what i have seen tonight. Still no class once the ball hits the ground in the forward 50, we need to beg, borrow and steal to come up with some $ next season for a decent small forward although the recruiters probably think the answer is Newman :lol

Stats:

It'd be nice if those rumours about Collingwood's Elliot were true. Still we also need more a Eddie Betts type.
27 degrees tonight in Brisbane. Both sides seemed out on their feet already in the 2nd quarter. That's probably making the skills even worse than they would be normally.
-
Stevic has been working those numbers over don't you worry
-
Well Stevic clearly thinks Brisbane needs more frees. Another at the start of the 3rd quarter.
-
Edwards intercepts and JUST gets it to Hunt across goal. To Rance to lloyd to griffiths at HF. Jack on his own but goes short to Grigg. Grigg sees the same mismatch and gets it to Jack in the pocket (when he could have kicked to the 'vee" for the same result). Jack cleverly nails the goal anyway :gotigers.

Brisbane has now put a spare man behind the ball.

Griff having a decent game, goal some nice assists, marks, now just go on with it for the rest of the game.
Busting the game open now
-
Cotch wobbles a kick out of defence. Astbury gets there first to Gordon and kick up the ground is contested out of bounds on the wing. Jack picks it up and is slung to the ground - no free. Ball up. Now another free to Brisbane ::).
And another free. 10 - 20 now ::).
-
Griff having a decent game, goal some nice assists, marks, now just go on with it for the rest of the game.
Got a rocket a half-time apparently.

Deliberate against the Lions. Cotch with free. Towards to Griffs but it's spoiled out of bounds 55m out.
About 5 free kicks to us them. Finally we get paid one to Edwards on the boundary. Pops it to the top of the square and Big Benny Griffiths marks it 20m out. Misses badly :P.
72 - 37
-
Lucky there. Younger Beams dropped a sitter right in front and then the snap went OOTF.
-
Maric with the free (ironical cheers from the Tiger Army). To Newy who goes to FF. Rushed for a point.

Dusty to Edwards back to Dusty. Down the line to grigg (touched). Lloyd now to Edwards. Kicks long but it's spoiled. We gets it back to Edwards to Gordon but stuffing aroudn with it we turn it over. Rance saves the day with a great run down tackle. Morris to HF but Brisbane clear and run it down to get a long goal :scream.
79 - 43
-
Houli in defence to Hunt to Newy. Back to Hunt but is squeezed and his kick is OOTF.
We get it back via Rance. McIntosh to Dusty to Houli to Gordon spears it to Grigg and he dribbles through his 2nd goal :gotigers
Rich 85
Bris 43
Houli in our best 3 tonight.
-
Cotch up and under. Ivan crashes through and it's contested out of bounds. Brisbane get it but the siren goes.
3/4 time
Richmond 4.4 8.5 13.7-85
Brisbane 3.1 4.5 6.7-43

Geez, hard to win a free tonight, still harp back to the first game vs Blues and we were pinged every time we were tackled with the ball. Tonight i have seen at least 3 tackles we laid where the ball was illegally disposed of and nothing, diddly squat.
-
Wonder if they can go on from here for an 80 pointer
Pretty hot out there with a quarter to go. After last week, I'd be happy with a decent win.

Im struggling to stay awake, poo boring game.
Brisbane have been terrible, more than we've been good. The heat has affected the game also. Both sides have looked stuffed since the early in the game.
-
Miles to Batch. Goes long to Jack. Hits the grond but Dusty's handball is too hot for Cotch. Cotch gets it back futher up the ground but Gordon has been wrapped up for a ball-up. McIntosh hurried kick to HF. Edwards there first but the ball bounces awkwardly. McIntosh gets a free 35m out. Goal :gotigers
Rich 110

Griff having a decent game, goal some nice assists, marks, now just go on with it for the rest of the game.
Got a rocket a half-time apparently.
Think that was jack at qtr time
-
I think as much as Sheds has been the mainstay of criticism on this forum he is no doubt one of the most important members of this team, no doubt missed him last week, clean hands whilst many struggled to handle the ball.
-
Yep, he lacks polish with his footskills but got great hands and reads the ball well off the pack, has become an important player
-
Sorry. I said 80.
-
Good
melbourne next week, don't come out 100% another meltdown moment.
I'm actually worried.
Were 2-1 I'm happy for now
-
Nice to see the penny dropped for Hardwick with Morris.
Newman may have something to offer as a defensive forward.
-
Good to see griff get some cheap ball to go with his usual contested work, ended up with 19 touches, 10 marks and 2.2. Keeps on improving
-

Newman may have something to offer as a defensive forward.
? Doesn't tackle or place pressure
-
I still thought it was a poo house performance, a better side would have butchered us with our turnovers. Though they couldn't sustain it but when Brisbane put the pressure on we went to water, we are still way to soft at the ball, to many by standers just hanging around the outside😔

You don't necessarily have to tackle to be defensive.
It's hard to tell on TV but I thought Newman went to Rich after he had a heap of ball at half back in first half and dried him up.

I agree, melbourne play hard tough footy under roos, we'll need to be tougher

Definitely not a finals winning performance.

First one and half quarters was terrible. Our starts in all three games so far this year have been off.
However, we smashed Brisbane for the remaining 2.5 quarters and it was good to finally see us show no mercy and put a side on its knees to the sword in the last quarter. In the past, we would've coasted to a 5 goal win giving up cheap junk time goals. Tonight, we, for once, didn't stop until the final siren's gone as our theme song says.
Agree with others that next week is the test. We've owned Brisbane for a decade, whereas Melbourne has been one of those bogey sides that we fail to turn up with the right mindset and intensity even when we've beaten them.
-
hard to be negative or positive . nearly all of em had decent games. conditions and the opposition makes it hard to judge though.. reckon the only clear loser we had was maric. they all made mistakes and the fumbles were constant for both sides.
they won and they won well against a side we should win well against. i suppose thats all you can ask. no real complaints. as i said certain factors makes it hard to be too critical or overly optimistic.
next week we will see. melbourne will be a much sterner test and a real challenge imo.
i personally cant wait until we play some of the better sides.
-
Can't complain a 13 goal win.
Could have cruised but we kept the foot down and had an 8 goal last quarter. :thumbsup
Leuenberger would be handy for us next year given Martin has the top job in Brissy.
My highlight of the night was when Robinson outran Floss slipped and got nailed. Could watch that over and over again. Love to see that A D D maggot fail. ;D
-
Up to 4th on the ladder tonight thanks to this percentage booster :thumbsup

we could have had martin ourselves. in fact a certain poster suggested we take both him and moloney.
been thinking about leuenberger myself. i was a huge wrap for him as a junior. what puts me off is hes from wa. if he leaves brisbane he will go home most likely.
-

Absolutely spot on
He was sensational this evening.
Set us up in the first 5 minutes when he started in the middle.
Will be interested to see when I watch the replay if the TV coverage picked up all is work.
Never, ever underestimate his importance to this team
BOG for me....
Cotchin was excellen too, led from the front :clapping
-
About as flat as a 13 goal win gets. Lets not get ahead of ourselves, Brisbane are awful and we love not facing sides which apply pressure and keep us accountable.
Ox wanted an 80 pt win and we fell short
Otherwise it was good to bury a side for once. I liked Cotchs game and thought Griff showed more again.
-
good to nail a side finally but does anyone really give a stuff. They have proved are flat track bullies at the best of times.
-
Still need a ruckman.

I enjoyed his leap into a pack in the last quarter which gave him cramp and to then run off the ground like he'd been given a decent rodgering.
-
I feel for knights I really do. To be honest I think we all do.
Shane Edwards, my summary is : you don't know what you got til it's gone. Well last week showed and this week proved.
My next view on things is that we need a ruckman. Maroc will not lead us to a flag let alone many more finals.

Or in the first his telegraphed kick intercepted by Cotch for our fourth goal.
Saw that head after that and couldn't stop giggling. Real hard obnoxious laughter.
Had my wife and daughter looking at me quizzingly.
Error, after error after error. No fist pumps today. ;D

Spot on WP. Edwards is all class and loved his game last night.

Glad to win. Did not let up on them in last quarter. Hope gives us a boost for new week.

I was pretty happy overall. It was a crap game of footy by what seems like 2 pretty average sides. I liked Griffiths game (someone wrote he got a bake at half time ... I actually thought he was pretty good even in the first half). I liked Miles game, I thought that this was his best game from the first 3 rounds of the season. Morris down back and Newman up forward may work, Maric is a warrior but we need to be preparing for the future here, Edwards was excellent as was Houli. We still have a long way to go but It was good to see them put a team away. After half time was a very professional performance.

Nah the dees gameplan would beat ours if we play like that. Roosey is too smart and Leppa is a disciple of Hardwick. Says a lot really

U didn't even watch it u troll , who got first kick of the game?

you know she's a Hawks supporter, BJ?

Some people tend to forget. It's not easy playing in the QLD conditions against side that is used to it. It will be a better performance next week.
enjoy the win & a great team effort :gotigers

Tigermonk
It was very humid
Ball would of seemed like a cake of soap at times
Very difficult for visiting teams
We had 10 players cramp up
They had 2

Houli was good. Not as good as Cotch tho. 38 possies, most of them quality. Goals, species, tackles, hard ball gets. 3 votes.
-
so the consensus is houli had a good game. id say one out of the box. how many times has he clocked up 30 or more possies for us.
i think hes played a fair few good games for us but he mixes them up with probably more very ordinary games.
-
I might be getting old and my memory may be fading but I thought Bacher was pretty good in round 1 .
-

he has paid us back in spades since coming across has Houli. Even the griggster has had a descent start to the year by his lofty standards.
-
Just on a side note, Malceski, who many rated as the best HBF going around, was woeful against the Cats. Looked worse than Houli on a bad day. Missing targets and no impact.
-
Great to catch up with Jackstar and WP at the game

Ive never understood the bachar bashing, have always thought hes a very good player. One of the few that tries to(and does) break lines consistently. Biggest issue was his lack of hardness and defensive accountability, but that's improved year on year since he came and is now of a pretty decent standard

Houli and Cotch made the AFL website's Team of the Week ...
BACHAR HOULI (Richmond) - Earns his first selection this year after a terrific performance off half-back, helping launch a number of scoring chains with nine rebound 50s. Used the ball well with his 32 possessions.
TRENT COTCHIN (Richmond) - A more attacking display from the skipper saw him rack up seven inside 50s and a goal among his 37 disposals. Kicked more often and was damaging, earning him a spot across half-forward.
