Channel 7’s call of Fremantle-Richmond clash sparks reaction from fans on social media

RICHMOND won the match but some footy fans believed commentators calling Friday night’s AFL clash could only see one team during their call of the Round 10 opener.
Twitter lit up at different periods throughout the match, with some fans believing Channel 7’s commentary team — spearheaded by the calling team of Basil Zempilas and Dennis Cometti — were too focused on Fremantle as they tried to generate excitement among viewers.
The Dockers, unbeaten from nine matches leading into the clash, were stunned early — trailing by eight goals to one and falling behind by as much as 49 points.
Urged on by their home crowd, Fremantle did fight back and managed to get within 20 points.
But many fans were upset by the commentary team’s constant talk of a Fremantle comeback.
Zempilas’ Twitter feed was obviously running hot throughout the match.
The broadcaster responded to some fans after the match.

at one stage a clearing kick form our backline went straight to a freo player.

sounded like he was going to cry just before the end, which made me happy.
Carey was about the only one talking up the tigers rather than constant freo nut swinging from the others

How was Commetti's repeated first quarter comments (when devoid of anything to say about our 8 goal start) about "the Tigers, of course, playing in what looks like the WA state jumper"
Yes Dennis, anyone over the age of 30 got it the first 10 times. And no, it's not WA out there.

Thankfully I had the good fortune to be watching it in the bar at Cooinda Lodge and couldn't hear the commentary at all. Made for a very pleasant experience watching the smashing and not having to listen to any flog bags drone on with their personal vendettas! :dancing

Watched the replay a couple of times .
The commentary has ruined one of our best wins in a decade.
I normally don't mind Basil - but FMD.
Bloody Cometti and his continuous reference to the North / pies game . 3 goals to 1 is not the same as 9 straight Den !!!!
