we dont need him and he's definately not worth a pick 40

Nothing to get real excited about. I reckon his rep was overblown by a couple of really good games in 2003. This season, I think he missed a few games with injury, but his season was not wrecked by it. Average footballer and if we are giving up pick 40, we are mad.
-
never given a chance and had a few injuries, he has a great kick and skill level which we lack! all those yrs ago he should have stayed and tiv go
-
Haynes is a good honest VFL player - nothing more than that.
Got towelled up when playing for the Bendigo Bummers in the VFL finals against an opponent with more desire.
Not worth 40, let alone pick 80.
-
Agree Darth. Haynes would just become another Coburg player.
No fringe players thank you. We made the right decision the first time around.
-
The fact that i don't even remember him playing for us says a lot IMO.

He was an elevated rookie along with Vardy in the 2000 draft. Played about 5 senior games for us.
-
Why on earth would we go there. Especially not for that pick.

bec the majority of teh draft is crap
-
The Age claims we "are speaking to Essendon about Ben Haynes, the midfielder who started his career in yellow and black before re-emerging at Windy Hill as a rookie in 2003".
-
Richmond shoudnt be countenancing either Green or Haynes which have been muted. The bringing back of Haynes in particular would be a dead set joke and an embarrassment to our club.
-
We already have recievers like Raines, Roach, Tivendale, wtf could Ben Haynes offer us? I wouldn't give up an 8th round pick for him.
-
Take this with a grain of salt as it comes from a Bombers' forum but a guy on bomberblitz said Haynes was a Punt Road Oval yesterday morning and Haynes said he was meeting with Wallace and doing a medical/fitness test.

Agree John, why do we need another flanker and one who will spend his whole time at Coburg :banghead. We need KPPs!

what an absolute disgrace it would be if we were to get him. Please tell me this is all crap talk???

so tell me just say, ok its a what if, but what if haynes did come over and be part of our midfield rotation and kicked arse! would he be a disgrace then, i remember quite vividly his first yr at bomberland, he was one of teh most improved players in the afl, and was teaching the tigers a lesson because we cot rid of teh wrong player( should have been tiv, chaffery or another tool)
i hope we get him and i hope he shows all u doubters wrong as i have faith in him

-

i really hope we get him and he shows u a thing or 2
-

its getting silly , esp bec we havent even picked him up and now that we have picked of bowden with a late pick i doubt we will

Haynes, Alvey, Hunt, ... have been delisted by the Bombers so hopefully that will kill off any thought of us picking up any of them in the PSD. If they couldn't make it in the worse Essendon side since Sheeds' been their coach then they don't belong at Punt Road.

The other Bomber de-listing that caught my eye was one Ty Zantuck - all I can say is "what a surprise" :rollin

Yes, Z is dead (in the footballing sense).

On the RFC site Miller says he was interested in Haynes along with Green and Gaspar. I think Gasper would be a good pickup but he will either be re-signed by the eagles or go before our pick 5. NO WAY for Haynes! :banghead Now there will probably be two Haynes in the PSD now that David has also been shown the door at the Cats and neither of them are any good. I'm still struggling to see where Ben Haynes would fit in our team for 2006. He certainly isn't a KPP that we so desperately need. ???
