TRANSCRIPT
McGuire: In fact I reckon we should start the campaign for a one-person slide next year. Caroline Wilson. And I'll put in ten grand straight away - make it twenty. [laugher] And if she stays under, fifty. [laugher]
What do you reckon guys? Who else is up there? I know you're in JB?
James Brayshaw: No, yep, Straight in.
Danny Frawley: I'll be in amongst it Ed.
McGuire: Is Duck there?
Wayne Carey: Yes, I'm here mate.
McGuire: Duck's in. Danny's in - already spoken up.
Frawley: Yeah I'm in Ed.
McGuire: I could do an auction here today.
Frawley: I'll actually jump in and make sure she doesn't - I'll hold her under, Ed.
McGuire: I reckon we could charge 10 thousand for everyone to stand around the outside and bomb her.
Damien Barrett: I'm on Caro's side now, Ed. I'm on Caro's side these days, Ed.
[indecipherable]
McGuire: She'll burn you like everyone else, mate. She's like the black widow. She just sucks you in and gets you and you start talking to her and then bang! She gets you.
Brayshaw: If you ran that auction from down there, I reckon you'd start grabbing some bids out of the seats too. There'd be money piling in everywhere
McGuire: It's be magnificent. I think we should do that next year. It's all good for footy.
Brayshaw: Bloody oath.

"The image of a woman being held under water against her will while people jump on her body is a horrifying picture of violence. It is nothing less," Sydney journalist Erin Riley wrote in her blog.
lol stupid cretin. You dont actually jump on someone when you bomb them
:facepalm

So Rank!
Frawley was totally pathetic.
McGuire proved the King Kong incident was no fluke and he is actually a bigot.
But then, who honestly listens to "The Rub" anyway?
-
Another appalling cover up by Gil and head office, the Eddie McGuire comments were last Monday and Gil waits until Sunday night to condemn them!
It would have looked farcical if he had of addressed the comments immediately and then announced his decision to award Collingwood a female licence. The football public who keep this competition financial and the very people you're going to rely on to support the women's league, don't deserve to be treated this way.
It's time Gil either operated as a fair dinkum CEO or move on, this is as disgraceful act of boys club than the actual incident itself.
The uproar would have been huge so Gil decides to protect his decision.
Very poor Gil, very poor

So women are now like blacks, if you say something derogatory about them it must be some sort of prejudice, therefore so you cannot dislike them? we must like someone just because they are black and now we must like someone because they are a woman?
If they had said the same thing about a muck raking male journo no one would have batted an eyelid.
No time for any of the idiot heads involved, but stuff me sideways.

Was forced to listen the apology today
God shoot me

Politically correct Australia has gone mad

DISMAYED rival clubs have hit out at the “irresponsible” comments made by Collingwood’s Eddie McGuire and North Melbourne James Brayshaw in which they “joked” about drowning football journalist Caroline Wilson.
Richmond president Peggy O’Neal said sports clubs must use their “privileged position” to stop violence against women.
“We at Richmond have promoted gender equality for many years and it is a key value of our club,” O’Neal told the Herald Sun.
“We are dismayed that anyone in a senior position in an AFL club would make irresponsible comments about women in the football community and fail to see the ‘joke’.
“The link between gender inequality and domestic violence is well known and all AFL clubs must use their privileged position as elite sporting organisations to stop the violence.”

This whole thing is just mental.
Here's a bit of perspective.
" My kids often skylark in our pool with their mates, they wrestle and fight, often dunking each other (forcing someone's head under water, for the ignorant). their intent is not to drown each other, there is no real malice. They also often bomb each other, or anyone in the pool for that matter. It doesn't worry me, why should it, we did the same things as kids.
what does worry me, is the bombardment of adds for betting they have to endure when we watch the footy. to them it is normal, something I never had to endure when younger. It concerns me that when discussing games they talk about the prospective teams betting odds, that they are told that betting on a games makes it better.
It seems that i have a different set of principles to the AFL and Gill the Dill, they probably think i am a bad father"

Tigers boycott Triple M over drown ‘joke’
Herald-Sun
22 June 2016
RICHMOND players and officials will boycott Triple M’s coverage of Saturday’s clash against Brisbane at the MCG in support of football writer Caroline Wilson.
A group of senior Tigers players approached club bosses about the move on Monday afternoon in protest to the radio station’s botched Queen’s Birthday broadcast.
Triple M will broadcast the game from noon.
Requests for pre- and post-game interviews with Richmond players and staff have been officially rejected.
Richmond forward Jack Riewoldt told Fox Footy’s AFL360: “The football club is not going to partake in anything to do with Triple M this week and it hasn’t been set - a final date yet - and so it may continue on.
“There have been discussions had at the footy club in terms of how we felt about it and how everything went down in regards to Caro, and I think the club is pretty strong in their stance.
“Our club is a real leader in supporting women’s rights and we’ve done a lot of things with (chief executive) Brendon Gale being a (Male) Champion of Change as well.
“This has come from a couple of senior players. I was sitting in the car speaking to my partner Carly about it, and the way I look at it, and the way we’ve spoken about it is, if it was her in that situation and I was the partner of her - and Caro has got a husband - how would you feel about that?
“You’ve just got to put yourself in her shoes, and it was pretty much a no-brainer for us in the end.”
A Richmond spokesman on Tuesday night confirmed the club had backed the player-driven black ban.
“I’m so proud of my football club to be able to do this and be a face of change and stand up and say you know what: ‘We don’t think this is the way to go about it, we don’t think it’s right’,” Riewoldt said.
“I’m really proud of the club and the people who have made the decision.”
Triple M stars Eddie McGuire, James Brayshaw and Danny Frawley have all apologised for a Queen’s Birthday radio segment where they joked about drowning Wilson in next year’s Big Freeze at the ‘G.
Brayshaw, the chairman of North Melbourne, will front Saturday’s Triple M coverage alongside Frawley, an All-Australian selector and St Kilda assistant coach.
McGuire is not a member of the Triple M football team but headlines the station’s weekday Hot Breakfast program.
Triple M is yet to issue an apology to Wilson for airing the botched June 13 segment.
As of 5pm Tuesday, Brayshaw, unlike McGuire and Frawley, had also failed to make contact with Wilson to apologise for his involvement.

Wow the media are giving Richmonds stance headline coverage this morning.
No doubt this whole issue will continue til our game is over. Its 4 more days.
The actual game itself is completely incidental and of low secondary importance it would seem.
-
Lucky people don't know what she was copping during the height Of the drug cheating saga by fan boys
-
The issue has become about forcing Eddie to apologise because of who he is, nothing more.
FWIW, he said the wrong thing people are allowed to dislike each other but you have to be careful how it's articulated in public - particularly when it involves groups of people who have historically been been treated poorly. Women, dark skin whatever - you can disagree all you like but that is 2016.
Eddie should've apologised or clarified what he said that day - which is what Wayne Carey apparently did. That has been lost in all of this.
Having said that, the media led by SEN and the Hun have created a story to fill papers and build hysteria which is what they do.
I'm still chuckling at Robbo frothing on SEN with Andy Maher on Monday. It was stuffing hilarious.
The Richmond ban just shows how easily people can be manipulated - this story is over, people have learnt their lesson and the media got their grovelling apology from Eddie. Move on.
If we want to know the real story, let's talk about the shift in power happening in Melbourne media with the King being dethroned this week.

Ashamed RFC member right here
What a joke
When very similar jokes were occurring on 3AW, Caro was laughing and taking part.
All this PC garbage is because it's Eddie and he's a massive name for all the femmos to gain some BS traction for their crappy agendas.
If he cracked the identical joke about a male nothing would have been said.
Equal rights my lemon and sars

Audio of a conversation between Dwayne Russell, Tony Shaw and Caroline Wilson has since emerged which aired during 3AW's Queen’s Birthday Footy broadcast.
Dwayne Russell: We’d have to sell tickets for those who want to push you, Caro, I reckon.
Caroline Wilson: That’s very funny Dwayne. Hysterical.
Tony Shaw: And hold her under Dwayne.
Caroline Wilson: Oh, boys.

Wow

Yes and this was addressed by Shaw, Russell et all when Triple M & Channel 9 I might add went with this little "curve ball"... in both cases need to hear the entire grab not just the selected bits to suit an argument. Although one goes for a lot longer than the other...
If he cracked the identical joke about a male nothing would have been said.
I actually disagree here Damo in that if the comment was made about an indigenous male for example there would be a far greater outcry than this.

Agree with your comment here
It is very well documented and known that Brayshaw has issues with Caro (can't stand her actually); since she was critical of his presidency and his failed promise of the $3mil white knight all those years ago
More recently, Eddie copped a whack from Caro and his been issuing snipes ever since..
To use a footy term, they played the (wo)man and not the ball. They didn't attack her criticisms of them in the their roles as presidents, they decided to get personal and attack the person. Maybe the truth hurt(s) ;D
-
We gotta stuff this female president right off
-
OK WP.
Agree outcry for an indigenous male would be enormous.
I notice you needed to clarify it though.
What about a white Aussie, let's say Hutchy or Robbo or Wayne Carey or Dermie etc.
Just to nominate a few examples
Actually , Sam Newman?
-
How about we RFC act and achieve like a football club first and foremost!
FMD the afl now has an inclusion manager, I give up!
Colours of the rainbow and everything in between just because......
-
Unless White Ribbon can provide me with an opinion I dont have one at the moment
-
All comments must first be submitted to Rose Batty for approval.
-
It looks as though the male pseudo intellectuals of the football journalist world are going with the justification,
"If my wife was involved."
How stuffing ironic that these self important imbeciles would issue such a chauvinistic, sexist comment and have no stuffing idea.
-
I'Ve always that Eddie commentating as well as being president of a football bulb was a conflict of interest. Has it come back to bite him? Will Caro have the last laugh?
-
Eddie could buy her. I doubt he's overly concerned
-
Caro is the daughter of one our greatest presidents & I'm glad to see the club sticking up for her! :thumbsup
Stuff Triple M, we don't owe them anything! We have the right to support our people!
-
Ian Wilson was the president who first allowed the rot to set in...
-
Sticking up for her?
Hahaha.
They don't give a stuff either.
It's about responsibility to ones sponsors and affiliated foundations.
Once again the Tigers have misread the play and reacted with a predictably useless counter punch.
-
Caro is the daughter of one our greatest presidents & I'm glad to see the club sticking up for her! :thumbsup
You mean one of the worse? It was the John Pitura deal, the player wars with Collingwood and repeated coach sackings which left the clubs finances and list in the absolute sewers. All on his watch
-
OK WP.

I think you are right about a white Aussie male, which doesnt make it right
Ive made it clear i reckon violence against anyone, bullying against anyone should not be tolerated

Caro is the daughter of one our greatest presidents & I'm glad to see the club sticking up for her! :thumbsup
Stuff Triple M, we don't owe them anything! We have the right to support our people!
Ian Wilson who sent us broke and almost out of business that resulted in us rattlingly tins to save the club?
That president?
-
Ian Wilson, the one with an alco's face and looked as shifty as a poohouse rat?
-
Ian Wilson, the one who is a dead spit for the character in Dio's Avatar?
-
Sam Newman quote last night
“Now, you can understand if you’re going to want to be equal and treated equally the point is don’t complain when it’s too equal,”
-
All animals are equal
But some are more equal than others
-
What would of happened if Caro said she would pay an extra 30k to drown albert?
My guess human rights lawyers everywhere

Hardwick: Triple M ban has 'served its purpose'
Jon Pierik
The Age
25 June 2016
Richmond coach Damien Hardwick says a club boycott of radio station Triple M has "probably served its purpose", and it appears likely to only be a one-week ban.
Tigers forward Jack Riewoldt instigated the move for he and his teammates to refuse to be interviewed by the network during its pre and post-match coverage of Saturday's clash against the Brisbane Lions at the MCG.
The boycott came in the wake of an on-air discussion between Collingwood president Eddie McGuire, North Melbourne counterpart and Triple M caller James Brayshaw and special comments man Danny Frawley, where they made derogatory comments about The Age's chief football reporter, Caroline Wilson, joking about holding her under water as part of a fundraiser for MND research.
Hardwick said on Friday that the Tigers stood by their decision.
"It was a club decision. We stand by that decision but we are looking forward to moving on this week," he said.
He said the Tigers would continue to "monitor" whether the ban extended into a second week but admitted "it has probably served its purpose".

the obvious, but unasked question is "what purpose"?
-
The purpose of grandstanding and probably trying to to show up the AFL over their choices of clubs for the inaugural Women's League by acting in a passive-aggressive manner more fitting of females.
