Audio of a conversation between Dwayne Russell, Tony Shaw and Caroline Wilson has since emerged which aired during 3AW's Queen’s Birthday Footy broadcast.
Dwayne Russell: We’d have to sell tickets for those who want to push you, Caro, I reckon.
Caroline Wilson: That’s very funny Dwayne. Hysterical.
Tony Shaw: And hold her under Dwayne.
Caroline Wilson: Oh, boys.
Yes and this was addressed by Shaw, Russell et all when Triple M & Channel 9 I might add went with this little "curve ball"... in both cases need to hear the entire grab not just the selected bits to suit an argument. Although one goes for a lot longer than the other...
If he cracked the identical joke about a male nothing would have been said.
I actually disagree here Damo in that if the comment was made about an indigenous male for example there would be a far greater outcry than this.
The issue has become about forcing Eddie to apologise because of who he is, nothing more.
FWIW, he said the wrong thing people are allowed to dislike each other but you have to be careful how it's articulated in public - particularly when it involves groups of people who have historically been been treated poorly. Women, dark skin whatever - you can disagree all you like but that is 2016.
Eddie should've apologised or clarified what he said that day - which is what Wayne Carey apparently did. That has been lost in all of this.
Agree with your comment here
It is very well documented and known that Brayshaw has issues with Caro (can't stand her actually); since she was critical of his presidency and his failed promise of the $3mil white knight all those years ago
More recently, Eddie copped a whack from Caro and his been issuing snipes ever since..
To use a footy term, they played the (wo)man and not the ball. They didn't attack her criticisms of them in the their roles as presidents, they decided to get personal and attack the person. Maybe the truth hurt(s)
