Dusty insurance...
-
For goodness sake lol.. Moneyball again lol
-
No way
-
Didn't he almost go to jail after a nightclub incident ?
-
Balmy weaving his magic already.
-
I would be open to this if it means NV can play as a mid which is what he is IMO. We need more depth in the middle with players who win their own ball.
-
Wow...surely not
Holy hell
-
Better than grigg
-
Dusty best mate
He will come to punt Rd
-
Anyone knows how he trains?
-
Saves us money by letting us keep Dusty for unders! :shh
-
Better than grigg
Jeez i reckon it would be neck and neck
-
Better than grigg
Hardly an endorsement, especially from you! :lol
-
aw gee
-
Keeping Dusty happy.
-
Recruiting good player's dud mates just to keep them from leaving? Great strategy that will no doubt foster a great culture of selflessness and team unity. :gotigers
-
Upgrade on Morris. (minor one)
-
(https://i.imgflip.com/101lwn.jpg)
-
And guess what....Dimma will play him in the fwd pocket :lol
-
Will be a seriously good get, just you wait
-
I love how they're trying to recruit more stability.

Who from the Tigers has publicly stated this? Pure speculation at this stage.

-
what is this? Everyone wants to empty their slops buckets out at punt road? And get paid for it .. lol
-
Statistically better than floss. No surprises thanks to dimwit
-
Not sure how he went this year as Dimma put me off watching too much footy but going off previous years he is a handy defender. Tough and doesn't mind giving it out. We need to be harder as a club and if it's a choice between this kid or BEllis or Houli across HB, I'd take Marley. As someone else said it might free up Vlastuin to play more mid.
Player swap would be ideal.
-
I agree BT. In a team full of softies it would be nice to have someone with a bit of grunt who likes a bit of bif
-
lets cross everything we don't get Williams is very average we have enough of those players Collingwood were like us this year and he was playing 2s footy so he will be another townsend, moore recruit
-
Straight swap for batchelor or hunt nothing more
-
Better than grigg
Jeez i reckon it would be neck and neck
Lol u reckon
-
back half of him and hunt or even morris :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead
-
The Big names are shuffling into Punters road now,my friends !!!!!! :gotigers :clapping
-
Connors speculating his client Marley Williams could be a good fit for GWS. Setting the table for a potential WHE/Williams trade between the Giants and Collingwood.
https://twitter.com/AFLTradeWhisper/with_replies
-
kidding Collingwood WHE for Williams gee whizz be a massive win for them there Williams a dud wouldn't get a game at gws
-
GWS already have two Marley Williams "types" who are actually good.
-
that's right and we have houli yazza on half back stuff so no room for him mate wouldn't get a game behind hunt and morris :rollin :rollin :rollin :rollin

Told my mate at work (Pie supporter) that RFC is interested in Williams.
'<chuckle> You can have him. Bloke has been figured out. Had one good year being a left footer but now that everybody knows he has no right foot he's useless' was his response.
Says it all really.

But If we have two of them, it'll be like having one

Mmmm but can he defend? If so see if we can get a straight swap = slight upgrade ;D

would much rather we spoke to Garrick Ibbotson from E/Freo.

Do we really need top up players though?
-
Always rated Ibbotson, very underrated and can still play - was bog v Footscray in r.23....don't have a problem with getting good players...

I like him too. Could slot straight into our backline and play Vlastuins role with ease. I guess it depends what we give up for him. Free agent?

Tendai Mzungu delisted

No doubt he is a better player than Houli, Grigg and Hunt but we need to aim higher if we are to try and catch the good sides. Lets not draft anymore average players, let's get rid of them and draft kids that could potentially become very good players. I'm happy to have some misses in the draft in the search for better than the players mentioned above.
-
I agree but think he's better than average - would be our second best defender by some margin...
-

He's not up against much! :lol
-
Hence why I said "by some margin"....he'd be a considerably better pick up than Chaplin was for a start...
-

He is average and that is being kind.
Pretty sure Rance and Grimes both have him covered. Plus I think we have some pretty decent kids coming through in McIntosh Short and Marcov that will be good hard defenders over the next few years.
We don't need to be trading for HBF types IMO.

It was stupid enough last year to trade away two second rounders for a HBF in Yarran.
To compound it by trading for the exact same type again shows Hartley, Richardson and Hardwick should go now.
Williams 23 yo 181cm 80kg HBF
We only have EIGHT for the two (HBF/Pocket) spots
Houli 28 181 83
Hunt 26 184 78
Yarran 26 !80 83
C Ellis 20 184 75
Drummond 21 182 80
Castagna 21 181 78
Butler 20 182 80
Short 20 177 72
Forget looking for:
Rucks - we have Hampson.
Key Forward - Riewoldt and Griffith for the two spots
Key Backs - Rance and Astbury for the two spots.
We have NO spares for the key spots but we are going to trade for ANOTHER small flanker to add to the eight we have?
-
:gotigers
-
Marley williams seems posed to move to Richmond in the trade period.
3rd or 4th [round pick] at most.

The Tigers continue to be linked to Collingwood's Marley Williams but AFL.com.au understands the out-of-contract defender is not a high priority for Richmond.

There is about 25 players and more if a good percentage of juniors dont come on who we could move on. While i am firmly in the draft kids camp we will have to also take our fair share of mature types.
Over the next 3 yrs say we do turn over 25 -30 players not unrealistic imo then we will need to bring in around 8 or more mature types as well as the 16 or more kids.
I think you underrate Ibbotson he is a better player than Grimes and by some margin imo.
He is a consistent performer at the level and has shown he can stand up in big games of footy. He may not be a superstar but he is no mug either.I think he is a F/A thus would cost us nothing but his contract.
We have so many weak pricks who play of h/b get in a decent performer and get rid of the outright duds.
Our trouble is we bring in iffy players and hardly ever value add there is nothing wrong with value adding as long as you get it right.
A question bt do you think we should only target kids or do you think it is okay to take a percentage of mature players as well if so what percentage.
-
Don't watch much freo
But have doubts he betterthan grimes
You reckon grimes is soft so might be time to stfu ?
-
if we are going after Williams then that must mean Yarran isn't coming back?

Self flagellation tour around Punt Road for everyone involved in the worst trade in RFC history. One that most astute followers saw coming a mile off.

But I'll bet he wont quit so he can still cash a pay cheque, poor diddums with his "depression"

The only mature players I would take must be A or B graders at their current clubs OR a ruckman.
No more looking for a diamond in the rough like the Townsend's and Moore's of this world.
Tom Mitchell should be our number 1 target.
I wouldn't care if we missed on Prestia if we get in a quality player like Mitchell.
Like you I think KPP are a must too. We need to load up on them in the draft.
Getting a player like Darling out of the WCE would be a good start. And he is clearly a B+ player.
As for Ibbotson being better than Grimes, I think we will have to agree to massively disagree.
-
rumours still strong that the tigers will land Williams not sure if that's someone we really need to be honest we should be looking for someone to help jack kick goals..... Get hayden I tell yah get hayden ballayntne

Hindsight on Yarran?
It's called a common sense approach to due diligence which a few punters on here and the fools running the club couldn't see

I would like to see posting proof before anyone claims they were right, i do not think the original poster claiming credit actually has posting proof

Carlton pulled a swifty, they did it to us before. Why we bother trading with these stuffing con artist scumbags is beyond me. They wanted to offload the dodgy bastard and we rope a doped. Just like the Saints got boned by Essendrug. Pick 5...gee they coulda used that on something good....
-
JFC - This guy seriously?

I should learn to just stay given up from all im hearing so far.

Waiting for Colon wood to demand pick six for Marley Williams
:lol :lol :lol :lol don't say that after just signing conca for 2 years who knows what we will offer here future round 1 pick ..
Another dud to add to a growing list of them we look like we are going back to the old days clearly there must be some better players out there..
1) we need another forward to kick us like 30-40 goals chase someone
2) need another back up ruckman chase someone
3) we need someone with a bit of grit and grunt find someone
4) Mitchell is going to get offered 400K a year throw him 500k get him and preista enginee room is completed give dusty a bit of time up forward
