Title: All I want for Christmas is.....
Post by: Hard Roar Tiger on December 20, 2016, 06:09:02 AM
Well here we are again, quiet time of year on this forum save for the odd angry shot.
So, in a Tiger sense, what do you wish for Christmas?
I'd like an out of the box year from Shai Bolton. Say 30 goals, 300 possies and a couple of contenders for mark of the year.
He reminds me of Michael Mitchell, I'd like to see if bit of that action in 2017.

A premiership. If not, finish low on the ladder and give plenty of game time to the future instead of your Griggs, Houlis and Hampson types.

Sack Hardwick. Clean out remaining recruitment dinosaurs, and hit 2018 with two more early first rounders (with Geelong finishing bottom).

Dusty Martin"s signature on a long term contract at tigerland.

That's not being too greedy, is it?

No but gee I am wondering how much $ it is going to cost.

would 4 years at 4mill be out of the question?

I was thinking $750k for 5.  Surely $3.75mill is enough for a guy like Dusty. Isn't Dangerfield on $800k?

Dusty signed long-term.

Nankervis becomes a bone fide ruck.

Astbury + Griffiths stay injury-free and actually live up to their potential.

Rioli continues to improve.

Graham turns out to be ready-made, slots into the inside midfield, and makes everybody look silly for overlooking him.

Cotchin finds his 2012 form.

The coaching staff change their game plan to something fast, attacking, and suitable to Jack.

Continued improvement from Markov, McIntosh, Short, Castagna, Vlastuin etc.

Is this too much to ask? :(

Have you got a link for that? Not that I don't believe you. It's just that I've never heard that.

You do realise if we get your 1st one - flag

Then there is no way in hell you get your 2nd request  :lol

I'd say if that happens, we finish top 4.

Well.....I can assure you of two things WAT:-

1) I am a man.
2) Despite your gender fearing comment, even if I was a 'she', it wouldn't have any bearing on my intelligence. It may however intimidate you a little more me thinks  ;)

No. Just saying it's unusual and not practical.
Hopefully, if you can actually elect all members of the board, you can trust them to vote in the best person to lead them.

You taught me that people who can't 'do', teach instead.

A PM still needs to face the voters within his own electorate every three years to keep his seat in parliament. As Stanley Bruce and John Howard found out in the end, that's not always a certainty. Once you win the approval of the local voters to represent them, then your party caucus can vote you as their leader and, if in government, PM as well.

The ability to appoint directors was argued by its proponents as being a means to attract people with certain skills onto the Board who would be reluctant to do so if they had to face a election to gain position on the Board. It was never mentioned as being a means to enable existing directors, and in this case the club president, to bypass the scrutiny of a members' vote.

Your club’s 2016 Christmas wish

News Corp Australia
24 December 2016

DID Christmas come early for your club or will it have to wait until 2017?

Bulldogs fans have been celebrating since October so they’re well looked after but Geelong and Sydney fans might be hoping for more next season.

From unlikely finals campaigns to a simple gameplan, we’ve worked out exactly what each club wants for Christmas.

RICHMOND

Dustin Martin’s signature would be perfect. Dusty is the Tigers’ best player but a restricted free agent when he comes out of contract at the end of 2017. How many times have we heard clubs say they have a war chest ready to throw at a high-profile star? The Tigers also have money to spend after the depatures of Brett Deledio and Chris Yarran but Martin’s future is closely tied to Damien Hardwick’s fortunes - if Richmond jumps back into September calculations, both are likely to stay in yellow and black.
