Nick Daffy was a good Mt Gambier boy.

Hopefully he was good enough to donate all that unearned contract money late in his career to local charities.

Richmond has named another strong squad for this Sunday's JLT Community Series match against Port Adelaide at Mount Gambier's Malseed Park.

Star defender Alex Rance is a key addition to the 29-man squad.

Rance has been managed in recent weeks with hamstring tendinitis, but will line-up for his first pre-season match on Sunday.

New recruit Dion Prestia has not been named in the squad, as the Club manages his workload.

The Tigers opened their JLT Community Series campaign with a 19-point win over Adelaide last Friday night.

They will round out their pre-season campaign next Saturday, March 11 when they travel to Moe's Ted Summerton Reserve to take on Collingwood.

Short, Menadue and Drummond need to lift as others could be going past them. Competition for spots is great but I am a big fan of Short and Menadue and believe they are needed in the 22 for us to improve. Lift boys!

It's hard to lift if you are not playing. Yet they keep playing BEllis even if he averaged 7m gained per possession in the last game....

Agree... can't be an attitude issue as they are both very driven individuals and i don't believe they are injured. They can lift their performance during every session throughout the week to force their way back. B. Ellis needs a complete overhaul as his current style is inept in every way.

Not sure why you'd have a favourites policy when you jobs on the line. Like the ending to the movie Thelma and Louise

That's the scary thing maybe it's not playing favorites but an inability to see the obvious.

One of the reasons why Dimmas time should be over but he has one last hurrah to save his bacon

RICHMOND has made two changes to its 29-man squad for Sunday's clash against Port Adelaide, withdrawing developing key forward Mabior Chol and defender Jake Batchelor.

The pair has been replaced by wingman Connor Menadue and forward Kane Lambert, who are in line to play their first JLT Community Series games.

Both Chol and Batchelor were training with the main Richmond squad on Friday morning and the Tigers confirmed there were no injury concerns.

Batchelor played solid minutes in the Tigers' opening pre-season game against Adelaide.

Chol, however, is yet to feature in the pre-season competition and has one more match – against Collingwood on March 11 – to push his claims.

The rookie has impressed in a strong summer on the track and is a contender for elevation to the senior list spot made vacant by the retirement of Chris Yarran.

Alex Rance will line up against the Power after overcoming hamstring tendinitis, but defender Bachar Houli has been left out as he manages a hamstring injury.

Midfield recruit Dion Prestia will miss the clash but emerged unscathed from his Tigers debut against the Crows last weekend.
