One forced exclusion with Floss out with a shoulder.
Nanks available after suspension.
Fire away with your changes ...

Think our small forwards need a rest Castagna looks a bit tired. I'd like Lennon in, he provides a contest which is what we are picking Elton for (which I agree with, but he's just no good unfortunately). Dogs let Elton free multiple times to double team Jack and it didn't hurt them. Need someone up there that is going to hurt opposition on scoreboard.
Out: Ellis, Vlaustin, Soldo
In: Prestia, Nank, Lennon
-
I still reckon the guy from Franga is better at the minute than the spoilt brat from Nothern Knights.
Who wants senior selection more? I'd give lloyd another crack.
-
Prestia won't play or at least very unlikely
OUTS: Vlastuin, Castagna, Elton
INS: Nankervis, Lennon, Bolton
Ellis C and Ellis B survive solely because of the Vlastuin injury. I'd keep Solo in, think against Freo and Sandiliands playing 2 rucks makes sense

Like the Bolton selection. I don't like the idea of not having a 2nd tall forward, we did that against Adelaide and worked out pretty quick the long balls go to Jack and can double team him. Sandi will monster Elton and Soldo. May as well play Elton and use his small use of marking a contest up forward.

Nank can play FF (2nd tall) so I think this works :thumbsup

I'd like to think the days of dropping a kid after one game are over. I'd like Cellis another couple of games to see how he goes
-
Outs- Houli, BEllis, Vlastuin- big loss structurally
Ins- Nank, Lloyd, Stengle (upgrade this kid, more ready than Bolton imo)
Every week we play 2 short playing Houli and BEllis. It would be nice to have 18 v 18 at some stage this year.
Through in Astbury as another defender that does more harm than good and it just shows how good Rance and Grimes are.
Backline of
Short Rance Grimes
Markov McIntosh CEllis

The only thing surer of them not being outs is your call every week for them to be outs

(an answer would be good without some stupid joke)

I think their intensity at the contest is better this year but for me I could do without both

BEllis for Garthwaite....Ellis is useless as a HBF. Garth can play small/tall and is tough!
Vlaustin for Bolton....Watch this kid set us alight.
Castagna for Stengle.....This boy is skilled and clean by hand/foot.
Nank has to come in and can play as a forward so It would seem that Elton will have to make way for him. Soldo was very impressive in his first game.

no chance Elton gets dropped.

from Nothern Knights.
Which one?
The one that thinks he's owed a spot and would rather play for the cheats.

I'm hearing some good things about Garthwaite, sounds like he's developing nicely.
I agree with you as to Bolton, from the little I seen he will be a stuff. Kid has major X factor.
-
Elevate Stengle for Castagna - Bolton will be a gun but will barely give us a half of football at this stage.
Nankervis for Soldo.
Elevate Moore for Elton.
Lennon for Ellis....deserves another crack....his susposedly "poor" AFL games were still miles better than anything CElllis, Morris & Menadue have served up since.
Anybody but Hunt or Morris for Vlastuin.

Yikes, I think that backline would struggle against any decent team. Astbury may make plenty of mistakes but he structures us up and allows not only Rance but also Grimes and Vlastuin (when he's back there) to do their thing. Pull him out and don't put in another KPD and it'll all go to poo

Has anyone heard any news regarding Floss?

Was due to have further scans today I believe
I'm expecting to hear something on Ch7 news tonight, they hang around the AAMI park where the clinic all the clubs go to is ;D

Fair enough.
I know in reality both will keep their spots as they are in Dimma's "untouchable" class.
It's a shame they are so durable as i would love to see a game without those two playing.

ON THE BLOCK: Nick Vlastuin started strongly against the Bulldogs but his night ended early in the second quarter with a shoulder injury. Scans will reveal how bad it is. Corey Ellis was barely sighted in his first game for the year and Ivan Soldo will go back to the VFL to keep learning the game after doing a pretty good job filling in for Toby Nankervis.
ON THE CUSP: Nankervis will return from suspension and Dion Prestia will be monitored after missing with a hamstring issue. Top draft pick Shai Bolton is a chance to make his AFL debut after kicking two goals from 21 disposals in the VFL. Ben Lennon and Connor Menadue also kept their names in front of the selectors.
AL PATON’S FORECAST: Plenty to like in a five-point loss to the premier but another win is urgent as the ladder tightens. A home game against a suddenly in-form Fremantle is a must-win before travelling to Sydney to face the Giants. A week off might have done Toby Nankervis the world of good, and he’ll need to be on top of his game giving up 12cm to Aaron Sandilands.

Out: Vlastuin, Soldo, Elton, Castagna
In Nankervis, Lennon, Bolton, Prestia
-
Reckon he'll go out but would like to see how Soldo would go against a genuine ruck and they don't come more genuine than Sandi
-
I guess Vlastuin will be out injured. I would like them to retain Soldo in the side but believe they will keep Elton rather than Soldo in the side. Nankervis is a must inclusion. Believe club will be conservative regarding Prestia's injury but it would good if he could play. Would like to see Lennon and Bolton brought in at expense of EllisB and Elton but doubt that it will happen.
-
Time to end the Elton experiment and elevate Moore.
-
just gonna have to read the hit outs off of the giant stuff, what can you do?

They should have had some good object lessons seeing Bomp do it all last game

In the Mix - Round 8

The Tigers are certain to recall ruckman Toby Nankervis after a one-match suspension, leaving them with a decision to make on talls Ivan Soldo and Todd Elton. Soldo is most likely to make way, despite an impressive debut, with Elton starting to find his feet as a marking forward. It is unlikely the Tigers would play all three.
Midfielder Dion Prestia (hamstring soreness) is a chance to return, but the match committee will need to replace Nick Vlastuin (shoulder), who has played a mix of midfield, forward and defence.
If the Tigers need another defender, Taylor Hunt is available after being named as an emergency last week.
If forward reinforcements are called for, Ben Lennon (three goals and 23 possessions in the VFL) and Sam Lloyd (two and 20), are next in line.
Corey Ellis had just six possessions in round seven against the Bulldogs, but the Tigers might give him another chance to make his mark.

You just know Dimma would be fighting against the intelligence and logic of Balme and Caracella to gift a game to Hunt, being one of his dud mates. Fair headed, short, low skilled footballer who remind Dimma of Dimma. Just like Morris.
Probably gives them a participation trophy after the game too.
Talent wise, the Craig Biddescombe and Mark McQueen of the 2010's.

Prestia only a 'slim' chance of facing Fremantle

RICHMOND looks set to enter its clash with Fremantle on Sunday without star midfielder Dion Prestia, who is battling a hamstring complaint.
The Tigers had said the former Gold Coast Sun was a "50-50" chance to return to the side after missing last week's loss to the Western Bulldogs.
However, coach Damien Hardwick indicated on Wednesday that the 23-year-old was unlikely to boost Richmond's on-ball brigade by returning this week.
"He's touch and go this week. We probably think we'll be very cautious with Dion," Hardwick said.
"It's an injury that, if it happened on the game day, he'd be every chance to play. It's not a significant injury, it's very minor, but he's an important long-term player for us so we'll make sure he gets it right.
"The chance of him playing this week is slim."
Prestia was among the rehab group doing light duties at the start of Wednesday's main training session at Punt Road Oval dealing with the "tightness".
In better news for the Tigers, Shane Edwards is available to play after a stuff stint on the sidelines with a hip injury.
Hardwick said Richmond would most likely name Edwards on Thursday night, with a decision then to be made on whether he was ready to come straight back into the senior side or whether he requires a game at VFL level before returning.
The Tigers will also have first-choice ruckman Toby Nankervis back from suspension, and Richmond will consider keeping his replacement, Ivan Soldo, in the side to combat Dockers giant Aaron Sandilands.
"We were pretty pleased with Ivan and what he brought to the table with his pressure around the contest. It was a real learning curve for him and we were thoroughly impressed with the way he went about it. He certainly looks a player of the future," Hardwick said.
"Whether we go in with the two rucks … we'll have a look at that come selection, but we were really pleased with what we got out of Ivan on the weekend."
