We got through last night unscathed.
Fire away with your changes, if any, after our 71 point win?
-
Castagna will likely be back - probably for Jiggins which would be a bit harsh on the kid as he played a pretty good game
-
Don’t think anyone warrants to be dropped but if Georgie and Rioli are ready to go you think they come straight in. Higgins the obvious one to go out just based on position and he could use a rest not sure who the other would be.
-
Higgins came in for Castagna two weeks ago. For Rioli to come in as well then an outside flanker will have to make way unless Butler gets dropped. If it's last in first out then that's Menadue.
It's a tough gig picking the 22 these days after our wins as players dropped aren't necessarily having bad games :-\. We've still got to fit Prestia and Houli back in the side as well after the bye.

Butler played a good game and doesn't deserve to be dropped.
-
Higgins out. Menadue out. Cant see any other obvious potential omissions.
Would like to see Rioli, Miles and Houli (if fit) come in. Georgie stiff. Tough to find 4 spots from last night's performance.
-
Port will put up more of a fight so I would love to see one of Prestia or Miles in. Don't know who to omit though based on last night's demolition. Tough choices ahead
-
Going by the club Prestia & Houli wont play until after the bye
I wouldnt play Rioli. I'd bring him back for the Geelong game and then he has a week off for the bye
INS: Castagna, Miles
OUTS: Menadue, Higgins
-
Thought Menadue was good that second half receiving the ball and breaking the lines, whether that was because Essendon were effectively defeated or he just gained some confidence I’m not too sure but like to see him get another week.

Houli out for another 4+ weeks.

Did he knock out Jed Lamb again?
-
I think the pace of Menadue is a real asset to the team and he gets some continuity learning about his teammates and gets some confidence he will be a weapon for us and that’s why I wouldn’t drop him I’d give him games and assess him after the bye. Ellis was good in Houl’s position and Conca was better than last week.
I think we maybe should rest some of our guns on a rotation basis. Dusty or Cotchin this week.
Outs:
Cotchin (rest)
Macintosh(0 touches second half and only 1 after quarter time - not good enough for a wingman)
Ins:
Miles, Castagna
-
given its a 5 day break to the port game theres no way we'll bring in Rioli, reckon he'll play against geelong then have the week off for the bye - perfect way to bring him back.
Miles was huge today, he'd have to be a chance and George is an automatic inclusion, he'll be in no matter what if fit
-
In
Rioli
Out
Higgins
Happy for Miles to play at the expense of McIntosh.
-
George in for Higgins
Miles in for Conca (must reward Miles efforts)
I think the beauty of having players in our twos ready to step up is we can rotate players even this time of the season to keep guys fresh but more importantly hungry.
Conca out (or Ellis/Higgins) doesn’t necessarily mean they aren’t good enough, it simply means
we can see others in their roll, and give these guys a rest. It’s a long year.
The other position I would like to see experimented with is Griggs. Could Bolta come in and play a similar roll with the help of a few others?? Could Caddy play that roll and we bring in another manic pressure player??
Grigg isn’t even going up in the ruck these days, he is basically just another midfielder (but slow) that isn’t great at the most important thing in our game style-pressure.
Regardless of who is in or out, I’m enjoying this season immensely, especially knowing we haven’t even played close to our best footy yet.

Conca out after 26 disposals and 7 tackles?
Think everyone being very kind to Lambert. Horribly out of form the last 2 weeks. Injured or needing a rest?

Last 3 weeks, been a non contributor

While I agree Kane's been down, it's been suggested he's missing Prestia taking a lot of the load.
That's why I want to see Miles in rather than simply dropping Lambert.
We need more grunt in the middle, especially while Martin is not getting much time in the guts.

This could work should Graham be rested or demoted.
-
Those wanting Conca dropped are off their chops!!
Would rest McIntosh & Graham for Miles & C Ellis. Good to start rotating these younger lads.
Prestia can come back through the 2's now.
-
CEllis needs to string together at least half a dozen matches of genuine quality before he's even remotely considered again....and if & when he does back come in played on ball not off half back....would play Baker& Miles in that order before him.... :shh
-
Conca was in our top three.
Anyone who says otherwise can go stub their toe on a couch.

He wasn't top 3 and I'm more impartial with him.
Players better than him were:
Edwards
Caddy
Short
Nankervis
Dusty

Despite how well Baker may be going at VFL level, he is no chance to play this year

Agree, would put him in our top half dozen. Needs to keep working and improving

The Barometer - Round 12
Herald-Sun
4 June 2018
ON THE BLOCK: Hard to see too many changes being made to the Tigers’ outfit that so comprehensively dismantled Essendon in the Dreamtime game. Even without important players Dion Prestia and Bachar Houli, Richmond is still getting the job done with a minimum of fuss and with plenty of intent.
ON THE CUSP: Sadly, Mabior Chol won’t be among those considered in the coming weeks for the Tigers after he broke his foot during training this week. In his post-match press conference on Saturday night, Damien Hardwick explained how Chol was one of the most exciting players at the club, but he now faces a long period on the sidelines. The Tigers had another big win in the VFL yesterday with Anthony Miles collecting 43 disposals and kicking three goals. Sam Lloyd had similar numbers and Daniel Rioli also kicked one as he nears a comeback from a broken foot. Is this the week?
GLENN McFARLANE’S FORECAST: Richmond’s ‘Triple H’s’ played a role in the club’s 2017 premiership. Hardwick is convinced the flag defence is being fuelled by two more ‘h’s’ — humility and hunger. He said two of the hungriest players for more success were skipper Trent Cotchin and Dustin Martin, but that is gently balanced by their humble personalities. The Tigers have owned the MCG for a year-and-a-half now, but face a big challenge this Friday night on the road against Port Adelaide.

Can include in that list Rance. Conca did play well against the Bombers but needs to do this on a consistent basis.
-
Conca needed that performance, had been down on his run of form. Also take it with a grain of sand, as they were shyte and we were really solid all over the ground.
Thought Lambert was down, but keeps his spot.
-
Maybe Higgins goes out and Lambert plays more as a half forward, allowing Miles to come in for a run?

Think you need to go lie down on the couch..... :shh

RICHMOND
Get them in: Daniel Rioli impressed in his third game back – his first full hit-out since the Grand Final – and appears ready to come in. There isn't much more Anthony Miles can do at VFL level, he had 43 disposals and kicked three goals on the weekend, while Sam Lloyd and Corey Ellis also impressed.
Under the pump: Hard to individualise here after the Tigers' 71-point win over Essendon. No one stands out as a glaringly deserving omission.
Medical room: Bachar Houli won't play until after the bye while Dion Prestia remains a few weeks away. Jason Castagna was rated a chance to face the Bombers and will again come into calculations this week.
Verdict: If Rioli's ready, it's hard to see the coaches going past him. Who he comes in for is another story; Jack Higgins perhaps, although Kane Lambert was uncharacteristically quiet against the Bombers. Jacob Townsend had his time managed in the VFL on Sunday so he's possibly in consideration having impressed with the contested side of his game. One thing's for sure; there's a selection squeeze at the Tigers and you don't want to lose your spot.

Rioli could be a like for like swap for Higgins. I am hoping Miles gets a crack for his consistent VFL performances and you would think McIntosh could be on the chopping block as 8 possessions for a wingman is pretty poor but Miles doesn't really have the body or the tank to be a like for like swap. Maybe give mountain dew a stint in the VFL?

Mark Stevens on Ch 7 tonight:
* Richmond had a closed session today. No cameras were allowed.
* Rioli trained strongly today and has put his name up to play in the seniors this week.
* Following on from YaBB's scoop in the injury thread, Stevens said a top 5 Tiger is unlikely to make the trip to Adelaide.

Late mail tonight ... as it stands, a big name out for the Tigers ... no name, but player in doubt a biggie ... all will be revealed at airport tomorrow ... old-fashioned tick the names off action ... @7NewsMelbourne

Wonder who??
Also I don't see the rush in Getting Daniel Rioli back in, gun player we can afford to take our time with him surely?
-
Toby out
-
It’s going to rain in Adelaide.
Ins: Miles. :lightning :thumbsup
-
Was thinking the same about Nank, he looks tired and sore
Shouldn’t have played against the Saints
-
It's not Nank as he was interviewed on Ch 7 tonight saying he's looking forward to taking on Paddy Ryder in the ruck.

Wonder who??
Caddy is the rumoured player out going by our injury update thread:
http://oneeyed-richmond.com/forum/index.php?topic=27245.msg631022#msg631022
Possible calf tightness in one of our top players.....
Hope it settles through the week.... :shh
Did he do it leaping from tall buildings?
No. Has been playing out of his skin down the other end..... :shh
I’m going to lock in caddy YBB
:shh
-
@sharpbrewer: "Is the player actually out or just in doubt... which one is it?"
Mark Stevens: "Out ... unless massive curveball overnight, big name won’t fly"

If it's Caddy, Townsend will play. Rioli for Higgins and we are ready to go :gotigers
-
Balta for Caddy.... :shh
-
Dusty out
Damm
-
Surely miles in
-
Yep, no Dusty
-
Will be interesting to see how we go without him.
-
Whoa, I heard top 5 player was injured and was praying it wasn't Ellis :shh
Caddy is a huge out still.
-
http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-06-07/off-to-nz-dusty-out-of-power-clash. Calf injury apparently reason for Dusty not playing. I would bring in Miles and Rioli and rest Higgins. At a guess believe Caddy will play more in midfield against Power in absence of Martin.
-
Whoa, even worse.
Fyfe & Martin are in my dream team FFS :shh
-
Actually think this is a good thing, Miles in good touch and wet weather in Adelaide should make for an easy decision for selectors.
-
Hope he wears compression socks on the plane to N.Z. Flying bad for circulation in your lower legs
-
Whoa, I heard top 5 player was injured and was praying it wasn't Ellis :shh
They said top 5, not bottom 5..... :shh
Whoa, even worse.
Fyfe & Martin are in my dream team FFS :shh
Maybe swapping Ellis for a good player will help compensate for the loss... :shh :shh
-
Miles for Duz
Rioli for Higgins.
Game on!
Edit. Looks like Castagna in for Higgins as hes flying over.
-
No chance of Rioli playing. He wasn't on the plane. Nor did Towner or Lloyd.
George and Miles went over.
-
Give it poo Milesy :thumbsup Pretty much a make or break performance for his career. I hope he plays so well they can't even consider dropping him.
-
I'd say miles Castagna in for Martin and Cal Moore.
-
Rested in the last today...is a big chance :lol
yeah ok :lol
