Out:
Vlastuin (knee)
Astbury (suspended)
In:
Cotchin
Houli
-
Hopefully only a fine for Dave. It was more a stupid act especially from a senior player. The Carlton player got up & played on.
-
Out Caddy

Out Caddy
He wasn't good that's for sure. Absolutely not best 23.

I think a fine too, but who knows? Round 1 and we have 3 flags now. They might want to make an example...

Out: Caddy, Broad and Flossy(inj)
In: Dow, DES and Cotchin

OUT: Vlastuin

Surprised people are calling for caddy to be dropped. Didn’t he think he set the world on fire but thought he was more than serviceable.
Think astbury should get a week. Silly action and he’s lucky he didn’t connect with the point of his elbow.
Assuming both vlas and astbury miss, cotch will obviously be one inclusion then you would think the other would be a tall defender to fill the role of the 2 outs. Maybe biggie makes his debut?
Other than that I thought broad was anonymous, ditto baker until the second half, Rioli and to a lesser extent aarts also anonymous for large parts but both ended up with 2 goals so can’t really drop them. Thought Ross was excellent when he came on and would prefer him in the side to Pickett who I thought was good in patches but made silly mistakes.
-
out: floss, caddy,
in: cotch and houli.
if astbury misses he has only himself to blame
as for caddy, small sample yes but he and pickett in the same team, well that is a pass for me
-
Out Astbury, Vlastuin
In Cotchin, Chol
-
Astbury fined.
So probably just Vlad out, Cotch in.
-
Is Caddy the new scapegoat, 17 possessions - anyone remember when Rance , Jack and Ashby were the wipping boys
-
Baker still a big concern size a real issue many times last night.
Caddy lol continues to be gifted games. Rioli ah to have a famous name only reason he continues to get games imo.
Lastly if we dont have a better option for the wing than fumbles McIntosh then we are in strife.
Changes well depends on injury and suspensions.
Someone is coming out for cotchin for sure, for me that would be Rioli. The other thing id like to see is maybe RC-D finally be given a game in place of Caddy and somewhere along the line sooner than later we get some games into a tall or two.

What to make of this post. Baker is part of the best back 6 in the comp. He doesn't need to be taller (although he constantly puts his body on the line in the hole) as he mops up and delivers amazing offence.
Caddy is solid and you must not really watch games closely enough to see what Rioli delivers during games. Regards to fumbles, his ability to runs the arcs makes him very valuable to how we play.
My tip would be to start looking at all the positives as there are many :shh

RCD has had opportunities to get a game ahead of others (Ross, Dow, Pickett, Caddy Aarts etc) especially during occasions when we had injuries with Cotchin Prestia Edwards etc. but for some reasons the match committee haven’t been persuaded by him ahead of anyone else which would indicate he isn’t doing the things they are looking for consistently enough.
My tip is that you especially won’t like RCD when ever and if ever we get to see him. Some have it and some don’t have it and I’m not convinced he has got the actual spice required for the real stuff.
I would love to be wrong though and enjoy watching him play 200 games.
-
Richmond has the luxury of waiting,RCD got injured at the wrong time , he will get a chance if he keeps on improving
Why do some supporters spend so much time potting players that play their role so we win premierships, I’m pretty sure the selection committee knows who’s playing ok better than us

From Foxsports:
TIGERS
B: M.Pickett, D.Grimes, N.Balta
HB: L.Baker, D.Astbury, J.Short
C: D.Prestia, T.Cotchin, K.Lambert
HF: J.Aarts, S.Bolton, J.Castagna
F: T.Lynch, D.Martin, J.Riewoldt
FOLL: T.Nankervis, K.McIntosh, J.Caddy
I/C: D.Rioli, N.Broad, J.Graham, S.Edwards
In: Cotchin
Out: Vlastuin (inj), Ross (sub)
Team Tips: Richmond will get a big boost when captain Trent Cotchin returns to the team after being a late withdrawal due to illness. Marlion Pickett was his replacement and played across half back, which could prompt the Tigers to keep the two-time premiership player in the team to replace the injured Nick Vlastuin (knee). Jack Ross impressed in his burst as the medical sub, which could see the Tigers bring him into the 22 at the expense of another player such as Josh Caddy.

In the mix, R2: Who's pushing for selection, who's under the pump?
Damien Hardwick said last week that Bachar Houli would be close to selection in round two after ramping up his return from his lingering calf injury. That would give the Tigers a readymade replacement for Nick Vlastuin if the three-time flag winner doesn't get up for his knee injury he suffered in last week's season-opener against Carlton. Or, with Trent Cotchin coming back into the line-up after illness last week, the Tigers could send Marlion Pickett to half-back and structure their side that way.
R1 medical sub: Jack Ross (replaced Vlastuin)
Verdict: Cotchin for Vlastuin.

How the f is Houli a replacement for Vlastuin. The former is a squib and the other leads from the front. Ones basically a reciever the other a bloke who competes and reads the play and doesnt need team mates to constantly get it out to him to get a bit of ball.
The real question is, is there another player on the list who plays like Flossy who can come in. The honest answer is no.

So you didnt see Baker brushed aside on numerous occasions i suggest its not me who needs to open his eyes.
On thursday a poor part of bakers game was his inability to stay in a contest constanly being brushed aside in tackles. But hey he did everything else right so we shouldnt critique what he did poorly. Yep it sums up blinkered ferals.
Lol Caddy is ordinary i make no apologies for your blindness or more likely one eyed blinkered outlook on the hack.
My tip would be to start looking at everything which includes the bad and not focusing on what you think they do well :wallywink

This is literally the complete opposite to the ethos of the club now which the players and coaches have preached non stop to have been the driving force in leading us to 3 flags.

Would need to roll players back like we did in last year's GF when Floss went down. IIRC Kmac was pushed back into defence and the rest of the back six adjusted accordingly. Grimes most likely would takeover Floss' intercepting role.
-
Broad can do the Vlastuin role.
Grimes, Astbury and Balta tall backs.
Baker and Short smalls/rebound.
No problem!
-
Dimma says Floss is still doubtful while Cotch will return.

I 100% disagree. This from another poster, juss on the Daniel Rioli thread on big footy, best sums up what i want to say.
It went like this.
I am always surprised people think that every player doesn't have significant development areas that they are being asked to work on with the coaches.
This is professional sports every player would have focus areas, From Dusty down to the rookie picks.
I'm very sure Rioli's would be more than to just run around and pressure act. end quote
How can anyone disagree with something that is so logical and clearly happens.
You think players haven't improved areas of their games and that the club doesn't ask for it. Unbelievable.
Just to finish up here are some of the criticisms i have read on three different tiger sites this week and it seems the majority are saying it.
Poor contested player, soft, Never gets to the right spots, doesnt get to the drop of ball, No intensity, low disposals, second to the ball which pumps up his pressure acts, Limp armed tackles and on it goes.
The main response from his defenders has been oh i trust the match committee they know best. Know one knows what the match committee think but im pretty sure they do have key improvement areas for each player.
I think the match committee is doing what it has always done with Rioli and that is give him heaps of time hoping he can improve in certain areas. For me right atm he is keeping others out of games and does not deserve his spot.
Rioli has been dropped several times before for just these type of things, he has lasted inordinate amounts of time in the team before the selectors bit the bullet. unfortunately Rioli has usually only been dropped for a week before getting his spot back not having shown that hes worked on anything and improved in areas. That continues to show.
My opinion atm is if he was dropped he would not be missed one little bit. That he does have areas he needs to significantly improve in.

Yeah just what is the club doing....going nowhere fast persisting with these glass half-full types...been nearly six whole months since we last won a flag and they're still just sitting on their hands...... :banghead

Dimma today said Floss won't be back yet.
There will be 1-2 changes to the side.
Houli will come back via the VFL.
Ross won't be the sub again. He'll also get some 'development time' in the VFL.

Here's the actual quotes:
"Nick (Vlastuin) won't come in, he won't play. Bachar Houli is probably a guy we could probably push but he hasn’t played any minutes at game level," Hardwick said on Thursday.
"He's another player we’ll push through the VFL, there might be a couple of changes."
"Jack Ross has been a sub for the past two weeks, so he'll go and play some development minutes. Someone will come in, there'll be at least one change," Hardwick said.

Poorly enough to be a starting 6 week in week out. All players have deficiencies Claw, I choose to look at what they bring which obviously pleases the coaching group ;)
And regards to the hack Caddy, decent Premiership hack id say. :lol

Ralphsmith will debut. Just a guess.
I think you'll be proven right pmac. Dimma said there will be changes even with both Floss & Houli still absent. Hugo to debut on a wing for one of Caddy or Pickett. Given it's going to be a hot day, I'm guessing Caddy will make way.
-
Caddy would be stiff, maybe someone has an injury we dont know of.
I guess you need to play and reward the well performing kids sometime
-
Well he runs like he is stiff

Yuck yuck yuck😁

Why don't we post the line up anymore :(
or do I have to wade through 700 Claw posts to find it
