We will be playing the Pies next Sunday afternoon according to Barrett on the Sunday Footy Show.
-
2:10 Sunday?
-
Pies will destroy us if they pressure us like they have the Saints in the first.
Can't see us winning another game unless we improve this area which is as bad as I've seen it.
-
This game might be a nil all draw. Neither team can score
-
2:10 Sunday?
Sunday games never start at 2.10.
So no, likely to be Ch7 game, 3.20pm start
More interested in seeing what the crowd cap is
BTW Tom Morris is saying the same thing on Fox Footy
-
Considering previous announcements, if we continue current trend of 0 cases there really is no reason why we aren’t up to 85%
But who knows.......
-
The way both sides are going, it could be one of the ugliest games in history.
-
This game might be a nil all draw. Neither team can score
I’m backing Castanga to come through for us and kick a bag of points
-
Our boys looked checked out for the year.

talk is cheap
-
I think Jack is buying into this stuff the switch mentality which has probably been part of our problem to be honest, players just expecting things to turn around without putting in 100% effort and execution.

Burning question for Round 17
Ben Waterworth and Ben Cotton
Foxsports
8 July 2021
Tigers’ burning question: Have they lost their biggest asset?
According to Champion Data numbers revealed On The Couch, yes. Richmond’s premiership era has been built off its pressure and ability to force turnovers and turn them into scores. Over the past month, the Tigers have been ranked 18th for forward-half intercepts. Melbourne champion Garry Lyon suggested the Tigers had been playing with a “sense of entitlement” for weeks. Three flags in four years means that entitlement had been well earned in the past, but after three straight losses and a slide to ninth on the ladder, there’s alarm bells ringing at Punt Road. Most will still tip Richmond to beat Collingwood without much hesitancy, but the Tigers have only won one of their past four games against the Pies, who could be released from their own shackles by caretaker coach Robert Harvey this weekend.

Got tickets. Now just hoping we don't dish up the same rubbish as the past two weeks as there's nothing worse than being at the ground and losing to those B&W ferals :chuck.

-
With our outs Pies by 40, no ruck, outmanned in defence, outmanned in midfield, happy to be wrong,
Will you put your money where your thoughts are?
May be lucrative :rollin
-
No holding the ball there for Sidebottom was a disgrace. Was spun 2 and a half times
-
There have been 4-5 non-decisions on incorrect disposal.
-
Patrick Naish, just a bloody contest.... :banghead
-
Good pressure that quarter. Hopefully the boys can sustain it for 4 quarters. Lynch started well.
-
Rich 4.0.24
Coll 1.1.7
-
Sometimes even though you are against a bigger body you have to at least compete and make a contest.
Naish take note :banghead
-
Mansell playing well in defence.
-
Baker, have a shot…
-
Mansell playing well in defence.
I like him. :thumbsup
-
McIntosh is a terrible kick of the footy even Grigg was better than him :rollin
-
Now everything is incorrect disposal.
-
Great to see the tenacious defending. Loving Astbury getting round the young boys
-
They are well on top. Bad miss from McIntosh. 12 point turnaround.
-
Lynch has his arm held, no free.
-
Jack actually uses both hands and surprise, takes a mark.
Goal #700 congratulations buddy.
-
Slack last 10 mins. Switched off defensively allowing the Pies to play on forward of the mark.
-
We should never, ever play Houli again. Let alone over the likes of Mansell, Stack and even Rioli in the backline.
Garthwaite showing a bit but still not convinced I'd keep him.
-
Garthwaite showing a bit but still not convinced I'd keep him.
Really? Thought he was excellent that half. But he is limited as a lockdown defender.
-
Have said this many, many times
Jake Aarts play to bloody limitations :banghead
That was crap on the member's wing
-
Repeat of the 2nd qtr. Allowing the Pies back into the game in the last 10 mins. Too much overpossing by hand & our fwd entries are ordinary. Small forwards out of position (hello George!).
-
Please don’t cough it up :pray
-
Geez Jack you could have chased that
-
Some of Riewoldts efforts tonight have been amateurish and half arsed.
Slowed down and let the bounce of the ball play him and let the pies waltz it out of defence.
-
Do we know how to man up?
-
Getting a sense of déjà vu
-
Lucky they missed because that was pathetic
-
RCD, clean bowled but poor effort to collect that ball. Nearly cost us a goal.
-
Umpires are willing Collingwood over the line :banghead
-
We are cooked. Lack of composure and work rate this quarter.
-
We’re cooked
-
Garthwaite not up to it
-
Our decision making in the forward half has been brutal. Slow to move the ball. Riewoldt needs to retire.
-
Absolutely disgusting.
We have been embarrassed by 3 basket cases.
-
I told the missus, the umpies were paying us some frees in the first so we were really gonna pay for it later. several fifty metre penalties later I can just laugh
-
How many times have they been able to score direct from in front and we can’t even take a mark in our 50?
-
Season over.
Why we keep putting Cotchin in the middle for centre square bounces is beyond me. 12 possession… zero leg speed to defend.
-
7 goals in a row.
Sorry but this is either a coaching or leadership/mental issue. We aren't this bad.
-
Typical Cotchin possession. Finally found space and shanked it.
-
They know exactly how to screw us, don't reward the tackles and hard work so it is for nothing and we will get tired, pay the bs frees against us and we look bad.
-
see why wasn't that a 50 for tackling after the whistle for our free, what have they given them 3 of em for rubbish
-
I said the same thing. Definitely 50 to Grimes.
-
How does everyone stand there and watch Grundy mark uncontested.
-
They nearly tear a hole through space and time to blow their whistle for them the bent bastards
-
Mabior Chol can get in the bin.
-
Season over
-
we better tank this year out coz we sure are poo right now
-
Still got major issues in our forward line. Miss Nankervis and prestia/lambert
-
Trade put chol for a packet of samboys. Hopeless and uncompetitive. Overall a garbage performance.
-
well this one sickens me and proves these arseholes are just tankers
-
We look so unfit and haven’t been able to run out games the last 4 weeks.
-
With the season on the line we really did just stop, bent over and took it. A really embarrassing performance tonight and in reality the season has been a disaster from start to finish.
I picked the result about half way through quarter 3. You could just tell we looked cooked around then.
The Jack R effort in the last about the 5 min mark sums up the game. He was quite honestly soft as water.
Anyway, were done so rest everyone. Don't play Prestia, Lambert or anyone else all season.
Something is wrong at Tigerland
-
Rest Cotchin for the rest of the year.
His year has mirrored the teams.
He's probably done.
-
Just a very soft 'effort'. No fight or intensity when it mattered.
Our forward of centre play was amateurish after quarter time and the Pies just fed off them all night.
-
Talk is cheap jack and you proved it. Worst game I've ever seen him play.
Pathetic
-
Collingwood had 100 more possessions then us. Let that sink in for a minute. That's what our midfield is delivering right now. Pathetic.
Need some mids who can get 30+ weekly
-
Why our senior players avoiding criticism ?.
Umpires this and injuries etc yeah there a factor not why we lost. You can say we ran out of gas that last quarter, but there was enough senior players out there to get us up not one stood up honestly passengers that's what I'm filthy about not the loss.To many excuses here.
How many tackles we had last quarter or what happened to the pressure basics.
-
We have basically no mids anymore.
Graham, who has never been a ball magnet. Bolton and Dusty who are better playing forward. Cotchin who is cooked. RCD, Dow etc who are young and fade/don't show at all.
And Chol. FMD I wanna slap him. Weak as pee in the backline and ruck. Just watches blokes like Cameron and Grundy take marks. Honestly I could swat this guy away like a fly he's that soft. FHO.
-
Chol was good in the first half. Went to work after that and didn't see the 2nd half. Interesting posts in here
-
7 goals in 14 I50s in Q4 Collingwood ... i don't get how that's happening?
-
Garthwaite not up to it
Your suprised? And you didn’t already know this? :rollin
-
7 goals in 14 I50s in Q4 Collingwood ... i don't get how that's happening?
Just spit balling .. but I would think no Balta, Broad and Vlastuin wouldn’t help ..
Combined with losing some of our harder running mids like Lambert and Prestia, thus creating less midfield pressure, allowing the opposition to waltz forward wouldn’t help
-
Gutted,f…..g umpires cruelled usour boys played really well, anyone who bags McIntosh you have to fight me, well done boys but we were fingered by umpires….imho
-
That loss stings like a severe urinary tract infection...
-
Gutted,f…..g umpires cruelled usour boys played really well, anyone who bags McIntosh you have to fight me, well done boys but we were fingered by umpires….imho
Mate, our mids got destroyed in the last.
Bolton, Dusty, Cotch couldn’t get near it.
That was the difference.
-
Magpies’ ball too much for Tigers
While Mabior Chol wasn't horribly out-muscled by the much more experienced Brodie Grundy (although the hitouts sat at 45-19), the Tigers' engine room – featuring the likes of youngsters Thomson Dow and Riley Collier-Dawkins – considerably faded as the game progressed. The Pies had 96 more disposals, and nearly doubled the total marks, 122-64.

Ran out of puff. Too many kids and fossils.
KMac played well except that he butchered the ball again all night at 56% DE.
-
Garthwaite not up to it
I thought he was solid given the hiding our midfield took and the constant supply coming into the Pie's forward line with zero pressure.
They basically walked it in after about the first half of Q3.
-
not the worst Andy by any means but he is of VFL standard.
Sadly he wont make it and you could see it from years back so god knows why he is still on the list
-

I agree. Thought we should have delisted him 1-2 years ago.
I was hoping he'd knock a bloke or two out knowing that he's finished. Otherwise he did a solid job on Mihocek.
-
Take 8 of you first 18 out of any team and you will have these sort of results. That said some of our more experienced player were either hardly sighted or performed badly (can I say lazy).
Hoped we would see a bit more from some off our kids but unfortunately some of them won't make it. Also some of our border line top 18 players are in terrible form and should be dropped, I just don't see who we have left to replace them. Think we only had a few listed players running around in the twos.
Go to the draft now and thank God we got to see these last few years.
-
Nank is the most important player on our list. Chol gets beaten up week after week. His defensive efforts are deplorable :banghead
-
Collingwood had 100 more possessions then us. Let that sink in for a minute. That's what our midfield is delivering right now. Pathetic.

It is no surprise. They play a high possession game. They chip, they retain possession so in nearly all of their games they have higher possession numbers than the opponents.
We lost the game due a complete lack of leadership in the last qtr. Why did Jack not move the ball quickly when Lynch had so much space on his opponent?
But for, me there were 3 more defining game changing moments
1/ in the 3rd with all the momentum we have Aarts on the member's wing thinking he is Dusty or Prestia or Lambert tries to be too cute and causes a turnover. Said it many, many times Aarts has to play to his limitations. Everytime he refuses to do that he costs us...it's just selfish
2/ Pies have an almighty run on and we are up by 3 points. Centre square and Cotch pushes the ball into open space rather pushing it towards congestion. Open space to the Pies advantage and the surge it forward and goal. Pies up by 3
3/ rinse and repeat number and 2 and Pies goal again 9 points up.
Game over.
Now I am not going to condone Chol's non competitive efforts that allowed Grumdy to mark. BUT after it happens I expect to see the Captain or another leader go up to him and talk to him, encourage him. Not one player did... the Captain just jogged back the square and said nothing but at least he slapped Bolton's hand on the way back >:(
During the last 4 years someone would go to a Chol or any player in that situation and say something ..
That's what wrong with our team right now, the care, connection appears to be non existent now the season is spiralling out of control
-
Even at 5 goals up it felt like The Filth were just playing cat & mouse with us...looked cooked from halfway through the third... :shh
-

Tend to agree with this
We've become a very arrogant team
When you are horribly out of form your can't afford to be arrogant because you just won't win

AFL Report Card: Round 17
Max Laughton, Ben Waterworth, Ben Cotton and David Zita
Foxsports
12 July 2021
RICHMOND
The Tigers will be licking their wounds after coughing up a five-goal lead against the Magpies to slump to their fourth-straight defeat. Yes, they are missing some big names due to injury, including Noah Balta, Bachar Houli, Nathan Broad (all syndesmosis), Shane Edwards (ankle), Kane Lambert (hip/calf), Nankervis, Nick Vlastuin (both knee) and Dion Prestia (hamstring). But what will disappoint Richmond fans is that when Collingwood challenged them, they laid down and showed no fight. It puts not just their flag defence but also their finals chances in peril.
In the votes
Jayden Short (31 disposals at 83 per cent efficiency, 841 metres gained) was Richmond’s best, taking more ownership of kicking duties out of defence in Houli’s absence. Liam Baker (19 disposals, two goals) and Shai Bolton (26 disposals, one goal) were solid, while Tom Lynch booted a team-high three majors.
Room for improvement
Still without Nankervis and coming up against dual All-Australian ruckman Grundy, it was no surprise that the Tigers got smashed in several key midfield areas, including disposals (-97), contested possessions (-25), clearances (-5) and inside 50s (-4). And as they have shown in the past, it mattered not for three quarters, able to play their normal scoring off turnover game. But it might be time for Damien Hardwick to retool their game plan, particularly considering they were scored so heavily against in the fourth quarter — conceding seven goals and putting through just one of their own.
