Just spit balling .. but I would think no Balta, Broad and Vlastuin wouldn’t help ..
Combined with losing some of our harder running mids like Lambert and Prestia, thus creating less midfield pressure, allowing the opposition to waltz forward wouldn’t help

That loss stings like a severe urinary tract infection...
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Mate, our mids got destroyed in the last.

Bolton, Dusty, Cotch couldn’t get near it.

That was the difference.

Magpies’ ball too much for Tigers

While Mabior Chol wasn't horribly out-muscled by the much more experienced Brodie Grundy (although the hitouts sat at 45-19), the Tigers' engine room – featuring the likes of youngsters Thomson Dow and Riley Collier-Dawkins – considerably faded as the game progressed. The Pies had 96 more disposals, and nearly doubled the total marks, 122-64.

Ran out of puff. Too many kids and fossils.

KMac played well except that he butchered the ball again all night at 56% DE.

Garthwaite not up to it

I thought he was solid given the hiding our midfield took and the constant supply coming into the Pie's forward line with zero pressure.

They basically walked it in after about the first half of Q3.

not the worst Andy by any means but he is of VFL standard.

Sadly he wont make it and you could see it from years back so god knows why he is still on the list

I agree. Thought we should have delisted him 1-2 years ago.

I was hoping he'd knock a bloke or two out knowing that he's finished. Otherwise he did a solid job on Mihocek.

Take 8 of you first 18 out of any team and you will have these sort of results. That said some of our more experienced player were either hardly sighted or performed badly (can I say lazy).

Hoped we would see a bit more from some off our kids but unfortunately some of them won't make it. Also some of our border line top 18 players are in terrible form and should be dropped, I just don't  see who we have left to replace them. Think we only had a few listed players running around in the twos.

Go to the draft now and thank God we got to see these last few years.

Nank is the most important player on our list. Chol gets beaten up week after week. His defensive efforts are deplorable  :banghead

Collingwood had 100 more possessions then us.  Let that sink in for a minute.  That's what our midfield is delivering right now.  Pathetic.

Need some mids who can get 30+ weekly

It is no surprise. They play a high possession game. They chip, they retain possession so in nearly all of their games they have higher possession numbers than the opponents.

We lost the game due a complete lack of leadership in the last qtr. Why did Jack not move the ball quickly when Lynch had so much space on his opponent?

But for, me there were 3 more defining game changing moments

1/ in the 3rd with all the momentum we have Aarts on the member's wing thinking he is Dusty or Prestia or Lambert tries to be too cute and causes a turnover. Said it many, many times Aarts has to play to his limitations. Everytime he refuses to do that he costs us...it's just selfish

2/ Pies have an almighty run on and we are up by 3 points. Centre square and Cotch pushes the ball into open space rather pushing it towards congestion. Open space to the Pies advantage and the surge it forward and goal. Pies up by 3

3/ rinse and repeat number and 2 and Pies goal again 9 points up.

Game over.

Now I am not going to condone Chol's non competitive efforts that allowed Grumdy to mark. BUT after it happens I expect to see the Captain or another leader go up to him and talk to him, encourage him. Not one player did... the Captain just jogged back the square and said nothing but at least he slapped Bolton's hand on the way back  >:(

During the last 4 years someone would go to a Chol or any player in that situation and say something ..

That's what wrong with our team right now, the care, connection appears to be non existent now the season is spiralling out of control

Even at 5  goals up it felt like The Filth were just playing cat & mouse with us...looked cooked from halfway through the third... :shh
