Give this mob a right old fisting and the season would be nicely back on track. Won't be pushovers though!
-
Sheesh, not sure I would be comfortably putting any hard earned down at $1.52. Crows better value here
-
A $1.50 winning bet is always better than a $2.50 losing bet
-
First road trip of the season :clapping
-
A $1.50 winning bet is always better than a $2.50 losing bet
True but I'd like to see a few more wins before I'm ready to trust. Let's not forget we had fewer scoring shots on the weekend. If we kicked poorly and they kicked well, we would be 1-3

I've been following the Tigers for 40 years and I don't ever trust them to win a game :snidegrin

Crows are improving and play to the final siren

Crows are improving and play to the final siren
Yep the Crows aren't pushovers anymore especially over there. They've only had one poor defeat so far. The other three have all been decided by less than a kick.
The pressure and intensity we brought to the Dogs game needs to be our standard. We need to back up our wins with a consistent effort and build some momentum as a team.
-
It will be a tough one, plus prepare to get fisted by the umpires
-
Prestia makes a huge difference when he’s in the team. So clean with his hands he doesn’t fumble like Ross and Aarts and makes excellent decisions in the heat of the moment unlike Ross and Aarts.
As long as we keep players in the middle that are willing to influence the contest like Prestia and the new kid Dow and not be bystanders like Ross and Aarts we should do very well.
-
Just get the 4 points thats all that counts.

Adelaide v Richmond Preview
Andrew Slevison
SEN
13 April 2022
The Crows host the Tigers in a twilight fixture at the Adelaide Oval on Saturday.
Matthew Nicks would be loving what he has seen from his youthful side in recent weeks, especially against Essendon when they were in it up to their eyeballs but fell short late.
They will be buoyed by the form of returning veteran Taylor Walker, who booted four goals last week, while gun midfielder Rory Laird and first-year forward Josh Rachele have been impressive of late.
The Crows are likely to lose Mitch Hinge to a corked hip which somewhat weakens their strength around the ball.
Damien Hardwick’s Richmond side was super against the Bulldogs in Round 4, picking up a 38-point win to momentarily get things back on track.
After welcoming Dion Prestia and Jack Riewoldt back into the fold last weekend, the Tigers should have star defender Nick Vlastuin back. He will most likely replace Ben Miller who has done little wrong in his two outings this season.
The Tigers have won the last two meetings with the Crows after the two sides traded results in the preceding five encounters. The last nine matches have ended in a winning margin of at least 28 points for the victorious side, so it’s more than likely this one will be comfortable on the scoreboard.
But the Crows are proving a tricky outfit to overcome and the visiting Tigers will certainly have their work cut out for them.
Richmond should win, but it might just be a grind.
Tip: Richmond by 18 points.

Not sure who Mitch Hinge is but must be a big out
Hinge is critical to them opening up the corridor

One might say their midfield Hinges on him

Adelaide have only won one game so far this year, but Hardwick believes they could easily have won three of their first four games and he is “bullish” about where they’re headed.
“It’s going to be a really tough contest on their home deck and I like the way they’re going about it,” Hardwick said.
“I think they’re going to be a good side, not only this year but moving forward.”
Hardwick said the recent inclusion of Taylor Walker will only make them harder to beat.
“Him coming in is a good get for them and we’ve got to make sure we’ve got adequate defenders to take him out of the equation because he’s such a dominant player when he’s playing good footy,” Hardwick said of Walker, who kicked four goals in his first game back last week.
Source: The Age (https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/vlastuin-set-to-return-for-tigers-mcintosh-forced-out-due-to-covid-19-20220414-p5adhw.html)
Dimma added that Adelaide on offensive like to possess and move the ball forward quickly with short passes. So it will be up to our team defence to hinder that and force the Crows to kick to contests.

Tiges by about 6 goals

Adelaide's Walker an AFL key: Tigers coach
Steve Larkin
AAP
Fri, 15 April 2022
Richmond coach Damien Hardwick says his side's ability to curtail Adelaide's attacking ace Taylor Walker will be pivotal to the outcome of Saturday's AFL clash.
Walker booted four goals last week on his return from a six-game suspension for a racist slur.
And Hardwick has no doubt about Walker's importance to the Crows ahead of their Adelaide Oval fixture.
"He's one of those guys who knows how to play the game," Hardwick said.
"He kicked four (goals) last week and won a lot of possessions inside 50, which is really damaging.
"We have got to make sure that we've got adequate defenders to take him out of the equation because he's such a dominant player when he's playing good footy."
Richmond sit in 10th place with two wins and two losses this year while Walker's Crows are 12th with just one win - but two of their defeats have been by one point to Fremantle and four points to Essendon last start.
"I'm really bullish about where they're at, they could quite easily be 3-1," Hardwick said of Adelaide.
"They had close losses to Essendon and Fremantle, they've got a really definable style of play that they're trying to implement and they're doing it well.
"They've got some great young players that have stepped in and are playing some good roles.
"It's going to be a really tough contest on their home deck.
"I like the way they're going about it and I think they're going to be a good side, not only this year but moving forward."

THE CERTAINTIES FOR THE REST OF ROUND 5
Andrew Slevison
SEN
15 April 2022
Adelaide v Richmond
Laird and Keays to gather 50+ combined touches and 10+ clearances
Rory Laird and Ben Keays have started well together in 2022.
After Laird missed the opening two rounds, the pair have combined for 121 disposals and 31 clearances in the last two weeks, at an average of 60.5 and 15.5.
Against a Richmond midfield that doesn’t win a huge amount of contested ball, Laird and Keays are expected to rack up the stats once again.
Banking on them to combine for at least 50 disposals and given their ability at the stoppage, they should also finish with 10 or more clearances as a duo.
Bolton to collect 15+ disposals and kick at least one goal
Shai Bolton has been one of Richmond’s very best in the opening four rounds and looks in the mood to take that form into the clash with the Crows.
In his last six outings (including two last season), Bolton has kicked 14 goals and picked up 98 disposals at averages of 2.3 and 16.3 respectively.
This year, his possessions/goals tallies have read 16 and 3 (Round 1), 17 and 2 (Round 2), 14 and 3 (Round 3) and 20 and 2 (Round 4).
Historically he has only played two games against the Crows, one of which was back in 2018 (his eighth game overall), before finding it 23 times and kicking a goal in Round 11 last season.
Bolton to pick up 15 touches and kick at least a goal should occur in Saturday’s meeting.

Touchwood we don't need to use our sub :P :pray.
We need to be switched on from the start as a team and bring the pressure of last week. We can't underestimate the Crows especially on their home ground.
:gotigers
-
Aarts.
Why?
Effing why Dimma?
-
Nank won the toss and is kicking to the right of screen (Riverbank grandstand end).
Aarts.
Why?
Effing why Dimma?
Only Dimma and the match committee know :-\.
-
All Adelaide in the first few minutes but we finally get it inside 50 and Balta marks 25m out. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 1.0-6
Adel 0.0-0
-
Hit your targets Tiges :scream
-
Down the line intercept mark to Tarrant. Hands off to Ross who goes long and Lynch is paid the free for the jumper being pulled. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 2.0-12
Adel 0.0-0
-
Out of the middle. Sheds 1-2 lace out to Lynch 30 out. Misses.
13 - 0
-
Ross picking up where he left off.
-
Why is Ross out there. Kicking is pathetic. No pressure misses target by 10 mtres. Goal them. Momentum killer.
-
Missing open targets again :banghead causes the turnover. Gifts them a goal on the rebound :banghead.
13 - 6
-
Ross + Castagna are liabilities
-
Get Castagna off as well. 2 poor efforts
-
Play in front Tiges :scream
-
Add Parker as well.
Play the kids.
-
Mids and HFs need to lift.
13 all.
-
Ross + Castagna are liabilities
Add Miller and Parker and we play 4 short every week. Dimma is a dumb campaigner
-
Crow fumble. Bolton to George who snaps a goal :gotigers.
Rich 3.1-19
Adel 2.1-13
-
Miller hasnt done much wrong mate.
-
Parker costs us a goal again.
-
Another fumble then turnover kick gifts them a goal. Inside the last minute too :banghead.
19 all.
-
Where Paul Roos again and his worst last 45 secs?
Dumb dumb dumb Tiges :banghead
-
Parker... :banghead
-
Parker costs us a goal again.
Yeah that was disgraceful.
No pressure at all. 1 minute left on the clock and we should have found a way inside 50.
Instead we conceded 2 goals in 60 seconds. Disgusted.
-
Selectors, match committee need their heads red. There's blokes that simply shouldn't be out there. It's infuriating.
Walker kicks his 3rd and were in trouble as they lead by 6.
Tackle pressure is off from last week..
-
Im not wstching or listenung how did cop 2 goals in the last minute.
-
Say what you like about him but Walker is a great forward. Would have to be the best set shot in footy these days
-
Parker 5 touches at 20% DE
-
Walker is a pig, but on his day and tail up very good. Difference at the minute.
I'd like to get the ball out of the hands of Parker and Ross. Just poor disposals. Missing KamMac on the switch.
-
Whose on Tex?
-
Quarter time
Richmond 3.1-19
Adelaide 4.1-25
Goals: Lynch, Balta, Castagna.
3 goals to them off our unforced turnovers :banghead.
Dimma needs to give them a blast. We're shooting ourselves in the foot being too casual and sloppy :scream.
Game summed up by our pathetic 29% inside 50 "efficency". Lazy long bombs and sloppy short passes that keep missing the target.
-
Whose on Tex?
first 2 goals were on Tarrant and the last on Miller
-
Parker... :banghead
2 goals from direct turnovers. :facepalm
-
Im not wstching or listenung how did cop 2 goals in the last minute.
We had the ball on the wing. Graham fumbled. Contest. Ends up with Parker who kicks it at Sheds feet at HF. Turnover. Adelaide goal on the rebound.
Centre clearance. Mark to Tex. Goal to Adelaide on the siren.
-
Dow isn’t doing too well today like the rest of the team giving away stupid free kicks :banghead
-
4 for walker FMD
-
Say what you like about him but Walker is a great forward. Would have to be the best set shot in footy these days
Actually you can't just say what you like about people. That's what got Big Tex, the Texan, Texas Ranger, TEX! in trouble.
That said I think we're on the end of some bogus feral fairytale today. Redemption Tex.
-
4 for walker FMD
Isnt this why we got Tarrant?
-
Another poor tackle. Can't blame the umps for the lop-sided free kick tally. Gifting the Crows (Tex) another goal.
19 - 31
It's beginning in the guts. Getting beaten in contested possies. Mids workrate needs to lift.
-
Lol not 15 my aaaaaaaaaaaahs
-
4 for walker FMD
Isnt this why we got Tarrant?
Nankervis at fault. Your mate Miller soundly beaten by him for one too
-
How about we pressure the ball carrier you’d think that’ll work considering we won 3 premierships with that as a basis of our game.
-
If it was Geelong it would've been 15m and a mark ::).
-
Miller is a 4 gamer ... you dont put 4 gamers on Tex. Its Tarrants job.
-
Can we not keep fumbling the ball today? :banghead
-
Miller is a 4 gamer ... you dont put 4 gamers on Tex. Its Tarrants job.
Miller is poo. Dimma is a stuffing idiot for playing him
-
Cotch long and a great contested mark by Balta against two Crows 30 out. Misses :scream.
Two gettable set shots missed by us :scream.
20 - 32
-
Who is the moron commentator on Fox? Not Gary or Jason, the main caller. He sounds surprised by everything that happens. He should commentate whack-a-mole instead.
There it is! Now it's there! Its there! He whacks it! Unbelievable!!
-
Miller is a 4 gamer ... you dont put 4 gamers on Tex. Its Tarrants job.
Miller is poo. Dimma is a stuffing idiot for playing him
Your opinion hacking a 4 gamer. Gee your a gutsy individual.
-
That's not 50. Laird had played on and was handballing the ball ::).
ps. Our tackling today has been woeful :scream.
-
This sport is so poo now. Overumpired. Uncontested. Pedantic. No pressure. Gill and his unaccountable crooks can all eff off to pastures new--the KPIs might look good but the spectacle sucks.
-
Dwayne Russell is commentating. All of them sound like Crows cheerleaders today.
-

Dwayne Russell, Broadsword
-
Yep with the exception of dunstall.
-
Free kicks 11-4. Add in the 50 to them and the Cotch kick called not 15 and it's an umpiring bloodbath.
I don't mind losing (I'm a 33 yo Richmond supporter--I know how to lose) but this constant daylight robbery from the umpires is ridiculous.
-

you're taking the pee surely

Laser pass to the fat side by Prestia to George in the pocket. Finally a goal :gotigers.
Rich 4.2-26
Adel 6.3-39

I find it hard to believe that in a 50/50 contested game the adjudication is 75/25. That is seriously skewed and I just don't see it on the field. Himmelberg dropped the mark eh?
I wish Dwayne would throw himself in the river.
-
Don't have to mark it now for it to be a mark?
-
Another goal to them off our possession :banghead.
Today = SHOOT - OWN - FOOT :facepalm.
-
Jack on the run from 55 and goes for home and misses. He didn't pass it to Lynch and Tom's not happy.
27 - 45
-
I can’t watch Tarrant anymore.
He is old and poo,
-
We're in trouble here
-
Miller is a 4 gamer ... you dont put 4 gamers on Tex. Its Tarrants job.
Miller is poo. Dimma is a stuffing idiot for playing him
Your opinion hacking a 4 gamer. Gee your a gutsy individual.
Yet has a soft spot for Biggie who hasn't earned a game.
-
Dimma can you get us to have someone to defend the defensive side at stoppages and front and square at contests :facepalm.
You can't defend 3-4 Crows streaming with the ball through the centre of the ground.
-
That's not 50. Laird had played on and was handballing the ball ::).
ps. Our tackling today has been woeful :scream.
Wasn't even a mark only went 10m ffs
-
I'm noting down my summary of this match in my journal.
"Free kick Adelaide."
I wish our forward line looked as open and potent from center clearances as everyone else's. We don't seem to take advantage of the 6-6-6 setup. You'd need litres of Drano to unclog our forward 50.
-
We're in trouble here
We've been soft, reactive and dumb today. Not desperate to work hard enough to win the ball. Getting what we deserve.
-
Nank free and 50.
Goal to Cotch. Understatement to say we needed that.
Rich 5.3-33
Adel 8.3-51
-
Another fumble under no physical pressure (Balta). Came off second best too :-\ (edit: he's okay).
Rioli free at HF. To the pocket where Parker marks 25 out. Kicks it OOTF! :P.
-
With all respect to the young men involved (much better footballers than I) can we put a name through a few now.
Parker
Ross
Aarts
Just for starters.
-
Risky kick back into the corridor but it pays off and open the ground. Jack ends up with it 20m out. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 6.3-39
Adel 8.3-51
-
Another fumble at the initial stoppage and then we don't protect the defensive side of the second stoppage and gift them another easy clearance goal :banghead.
Dumb dumb dumb. Story of our day :banghead.
-
Riewoldt looks disinterested
-
Someone teach our boys to buckle at the knees when they feel pressure in the back so we can at least even out these bogus in the back frees.
-
Geez our backline is a liability tonight
-
Tarrant has been slaughtered today
-
Another set shot to Adelaide off our fumbling/missed possession :banghead :banghead :banghead. Lucky Tex misses.
U10s stuff! :banghead :banghead :banghead
-
Geez our backline is a liability tonight
It's our midfield's fault. I could get a mark inside Adelaide's F50 today given how easy the ball is coming in.
-
Well we can't keep wishing for the senior guys to come back in. If they're all around 30 and their bodies aren't letting them all get on the park at the same time then this is the new reality.
We need to keep getting kids into the team (not mid-season draft 26yos) and beef up the footy department because we look way off the pace and fading by round 5, 2022.
No more Tarrants and Parkers and Aarts. No more 5-coach football departments.
-
Half time
Richmond 3.1 6.3-39
Adelaide 4.2 9.4-58
Goals: Castagna 2, Lynch, Riewoldt, Cotchin, Balta.
Pathetic dumb soft slop! :scream
-
Not sure how it looks on the TV but Tarrant has been shocking
Biggest liability in our backing
-
Writing is on the wall here.
If we're not beating Adelaide, were not finals worthy. All the good teams put these sides away with a minimum of fuss.
Were not good enough anymore unfortunately
-
Ross Castagna Miller Aarts WTF do people expect. Dimma is dumb
-
Feel like we’re playing 3/4 players down at times. The way they’re able to break in groups with not a tiger in sight is amazing.
Also do these guys work on tackling in training? Pin the bloody arms.
-
Who's gonna start the Sack Dimma thread (jokes) :p
I haven't felt like this watching Richmond since the (in)glorious Brad Miller years.
Patchwork quilt non-competitiveness.
-
Ross Castagna Miller Aarts WTF do people expect. Dimma is dumb
Yep. When I saw ross and aarts I knew what we would be getting today.
Ross has not let me down.
-
And the story of today so far is ....
1. MISS OPEN TARGET
2. FUMBLE
3. MISTACKLE
4. DON'T PROTECT DEFENSIVE SIDE OF CONTEST
5. REBOUND GOAL TO ADELAIDE
6. GO TO 1
:banghead
-
Not sure how it looks on the TV but Tarrant has been shocking
Biggest liability in our backing
he tries but is slow and getting a hiding
-
Get rinsed and repeat.
-
Ross Castagna Miller Aarts WTF do people expect. Dimma is dumb
Hes won 3 flags for us so hes smarter than you lol
-

Another 50. :help
Why don’t we learn :banghead
-
Lynch is hopeless at getting ground balls
-
Fumble by Balta.
Cotch and Floss both fly for the same ball and it goes over the top.
Stupid 50 by the ump but dumb by us. Didn't need to touch the ball on the ground :facepalm.
Our heads have not been in the game. Turned up not focussed and not willing to work as a team :thumbsdown.
-
Prestia to Short who goes long and Lynch marks in the pocket. Misses.
40 - 64
-
Great goal Shed. Chimp been good today and Shed improved as well
-
Finally we have a crumber in front of the talls.
Short long and Sheds crumbs and snaps a goal :gotigers
Rich 7.4-46
Adel 10.4-64
-
Great by Ross at half back. :thumbsup
-
Fair play to Ross there that was good courage.
-
Jack Ross earned that goal
-
Transition goal. Not perfect but it paid off. Goal to Baker :gotigers.
Rich 8.4-52
Adel 10.4-64
-
Too many hands. Bolton off snap is touched.
53 - 64
-
LMAO! Jack fumbled the ball onto his boot and it grubbers through :gotigers.
Rich 9.5-59
Adel 10.4-64
-
Free kicks 2-4 this quarter, which has helped. Has Edwards been put behind the footy to get some ball?
-
Beautiful finish from Baker on his left.
-
Dow free at 50. Goes long stoppage. Rushed by the Crows.
60 - 65
-
Baker brilliant goal :gotigers.
Puts us in front! :o
Rich 10.6-66
Adel 10.5-65
-
Coach killer. How can we not take a contested mark at one end of the ground but leak them like a sieve at the other?
-
**** Tiges!
-
Set play. Lynch ran up to the wing and passes it to Jack. Bomb from 55 hits the post.
67 - 71
-
Two sloppy tackles. Keep the focus Tiges.
-
Again we give up possession (Graham too slow and kick smothered) and they score from it :banghead.
67 - 77
-
What do you do when Miller and Tarrant are your key defenders?
-
5 free kicks in a row to Adelaide and they kick 3 goals.
You can't make this stuff up. Soft game these days too. 10 years before non-contact version?
-
Groundhog day! The most frustrating thing tonight is every goal they've kicked has been off our possession :banghead.
-
Our tackling is trash. :banghead :banghead
-
Back to fumbles, mistackles and dumb frees :banghead.
-
A heroic moment from Tom Lynch ruined by the pedantry of the modern game.
-
7 free kicks in a row to Adelaide now. From 15-11 to 22-11, but apparently Adelaide have "lifted."
-
Parker :P. Why the banana when it was a drop punt kick?
68 - 83
-
Th umpiring is also trash. :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead
-
11 free kicks in a row to Adelaide, who, again, have "lifted."
-
Short long on the boundary goes for a point.
69 - 84
-
The worst kick in Australia
-
George 50 but misses from 50 out.
70 - 84
-
3/4 time
Richmond 3.1 6.3 10.10-70
Adelaide 4.2 9.4 13.6-84
Goals: Baker 2, Castagna 2, Riewoldt 2, Lynch, Cotchin, Balta, Edwards.
-
A heroic moment from Tom Lynch ruined by the pedantry of the modern game.
Umpires that don’t understand the game at all.
That rule was brought in for slide tackles and players deliver taking out the legs not for players diving for the ball and punching it off the ground and free loaders trying to get an easy free kick.
Rubbish umpiring.
-
I honestly feel like I'm living in Stalinist Russia surrounded by official apologists when I watch any footy match these days--not just Richmond. One team is under the pump and coughing up goals then the umps go 11-0 for that team and nobody mentions it as a factor--just them "lifting"--even though that is as good as 500 meters gained (an extra BoG back flanker).
11-0!
26-12 for the match!
They didn't lift. They were lifted!
This happens in so many games. Teams get robbed left, right and center and the paid "special" commentators just blab on about their own sycophantic hyperbolic blah blah and miss the nose on their face--which is an elephant! In a room!
-
Tackling like turnstiles again..... :banghead :banghead :banghead :facepalm
-
I didn’t put much thought into the free kick count in the first half as the crows were generally on top so you’d expect them to be drawing more. But geeeeezzzz we can be absolutely dominating and can’t buy a free kick yet will give one away if someone’s arm hair makes contact above a crows player shoulder.
-
The 50/50 calls against us, and then the 50/50 that's not paid to us make me want to 🤮
So many incorrect disposals by the crows and then a tickle to them high and it's a turnover.
Kissed on the d1ck these crows. They've played well, but we have copped it hard from the boys in blue.
-
I honestly feel like I'm living in Stalinist Russia surrounded by official apologists when I watch any footy match these days--not just Richmond. One team is under the pump and coughing up goals then the umps go 11-0 for that team and nobody mentions it as a factor--just them "lifting"--even though that is as good as 500 meters gained (an extra BoG back flanker).

I’m not one to bash umpires but this is true for this game. Ridiculous to the extreme that quarter.
-
Someone send Ralphsmith Tivendale's left foot.
-
We need Reiwoldt to take mark of the year again
-
Someone send Ralphsmith Tivendale's left foot.
:lol
Well said
-
Ballwatching! High ball at HF and not one Tiger goes for it :facepalm.
That was soft, Tiges!
The review of this game on Monday is going to be ugly for the players. Embarrassing "efforts".
-
Our tackling and pressure is rubbish. :banghead
Three premierships and they don’t know how to do it anymore
-
Let's be honest, even if we pile on a few and get over the line here it's just papering over the cracks. Serious concerns.
Tackling
Fumbling
Skills
Loose defense
Constipated attack
Contested ball
Sloppy frees
-
Castagna is rubbish
-
Castagna cannot take the stuffing ball cleanly and it murders us
-
3-0 free kicks to start the quarter.
29-12 overall.
I will say in defense of our boys that it must rip your heart out to put in so much effort and be disappointed like that repeatedly. So hard to build momentum and belief (and stay disciplined) if you feel like it doesn't matter what you do anyway.
-
We need to stop umpiring crap we been poor skills , composure, kicking and tackling to many passengers.
-
So cheating pricks like Weightman, Selwood and Kossie Pickett can duck into tackles and get high paid, then we do it and we get pinged, which is the rule, but we seem to be the only team they umpire correctly for. Same as studs up, we're the only side I've ever seen it paid against. Then McHenry has hands above his head, spun a few times and no call.
-
Just go for goal bakes.
As for george :facepalm.
-
Time for Castagna to drop down to the 2s. Learn some composure or don't come back.
-
Why give it George when you’ve got an open goal is beyond comprehension
-
Our 50 entries are rubbish.
-
Out forwards habe stopped leading since half time. :banghead
-
We're not fit.
Letting them finish like winners (like Carlton and St Kilda).
-
Hugo subbed off.
Aarts on.
-
Here comes Aarts to save the day
-
True. Not fit as we used to be. Way off the competition.
-
Castagna cannot take the stuffing ball cleanly and it murders us
A blight on our side. Some work so hard to get it forward and he just waste it over and over. Must be down heartening.
-
When you fail to do the basics well then you deserve to lose. Only got ourselves to blame tonight.
-
The most obvious sign that our reign is over.... we're back to letting spuds have breakout goalkicking games against us...
-
Lynch contested mark against two 35 out. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 11.10-76
Adel 15.11-101
-
The most obvious sign that our reign is over.... we're back to letting spuds have breakout goalkicking games against us...
Lol this. It feels like the good old days when we made everyone else's dreams come true.
Richmond 'Make a Wish Foundation' FC. :p
-
Nank centre clearance. Dow to Graham = goal :gotigers.
Rich 12.10-82
Adel 15.11-101
-
umpires can still stop our late run here
-
LOL there it is
-
LOL there it is
it was there, blame tarrant
-
32-13 (6-1 last quarter)
It's been an umpiring masterclass. It really has.
-
Wow...
-
you get an a full 5 minutes in a tackle if you are a crow
-
I feel like adding those two missed holding the balls to the Crows' stuff column.
-
The first half the frees were out fault.
After half-time the umps have been wearing Crows jumpers ::).
That was HTB twice in our forward line and not paid ::)
-
LOL there it is
it was there, blame tarrant
Tarrant has had a shocker. Umpires have been worse though
-
Two clear holding the ball / incorrect disposal efforts on our 50 meter arc and neither paid.
-
2 sets of rules, they don't pay the same both ways
-
It's been 18-2 since we hit the lead halfway through the third.
But boy have Adelaide "lifted" and showed "character!"
-
and throwing the ball backwards over the head thing they have done all night..fmd
-
Sums up our night. Sloppy! Just not switched on.
-
Let the umps have it Dimma
-
Let the umps have it Dimma
He cant. He needs to be politically correct lol.
-
Time to clean out and play the kids, we are not close to top 8 material this year.
-
For sure we have our own stuff to work on but that was abysmal and deserves a please explain to the AFL.
Since halfway through the third the umpires adjudicated that 90% of infractions on the field were in their favour. That is bordering on utterly implausible and indefensible in a 50/50 contested game. Shocking.
-
Who ever made the call to recruit Robbie Tarrant can go.
Slow and pretty average let's be honest, with Miller coming through, a shocking recruitment. To also not go after a experienced mid with our depth issues last year and the unknown of Dusty's kidney is just unacceptable.
-
Lets do what Eagles are doing. We need a stint at the bottom, collect some good picks and come back stronger.
-
At 50m a kick the differential of -20 is 1000m gained. 1 kilometer gained!
There's no point voting for BoG tonight.
-
AFL managed this.
33 free kicks.
Leading disposals.
Plenty of dropping the football not payed to us.
They duck, free kick, we duck, holding the football.
-
Time to clean out and play the kids, we are not close to top 8 material this year.
This. Yes please
-
Two clear holding the ball / incorrect disposal efforts on our 50 meter arc and neither paid.
Yeah was shocking.
-
Final Score
Richmond 3.1 6.3 10.10 12.10-82
Adelaide 4.2 9.4 13.6 15.11-101
Goals: Baker 2, Castagna 2, Riewoldt 2, Lynch 2, Cotchin, Balta, Edwards, Graham.
Threw away a winnable game by failing to do the basics and the hard work needed :thumbsdown.
ps. just 2 goals (and scoring shots) from 16 inside 50 in the last quarter :help.
-
Let the umps have it Dimma
He cant. He needs to be politically correct lol.
You are correct he can't spray them but he can in public ask for a full review with the umpires board as to the holding/dropping the ball rule. He can say he doesn't understand it and would like it cleared up as it doesn't seem to be applied consistently. It's like spraying them without spraying them.
-
That we were blantantly cheated against and lost by 3 goals is amazing.
-
We were worse than the umpires. We didn’t lose because of them we lost because we played crap and can’t tackle or defend anymore.
-
That we were blantantly cheated against and lost by 3 goals is amazing.
This made me laugh. Cause it's funny and absolutely true.
-
Lucky for us there's not a "insufficient attempt" rule in relation to tackling.... >:(
-
Umpiring was terrible, but our lack of clean hands was worse.
-
I will watch the replay only to see if it was as bad on the telly as it was at the ground
A pathetic effort TBBH
Bad Richmond turned up thinking they'd win. Bad Richmond doesn't win
Good Richmond wins that game easily. We seem to switch on when we are playing good sides.
But Just turn up against the poor/average and go through the motions and show them zero respect
Tarrant was shocking. Ross was terrible, yet again twice refused to go in for the hard ball :banghead
Felt sorry for our forwards again....
Can't think of any positives at the moment
-
As biased as the umps were in the second half, we only have ourselves to blame for tonight's loss. Our first half was pitiful. Summed up by the last 45 seconds of stupidity in the first quarter that gifted Adelaide two soft goals. That was what cost us the game. Margin was 19 points at half-time and that's what we lost the game by.
If you ...
1. Can't hit open teammates 25m away by foot and hand under no physical pressure
2. Can't nail tackles because you're careless or you don't watch the hips or you don't pin the arm of the opposition
3. Don't have someone as sweeper on the defensive side at stoppages
4. Don't have forwards playing in front
5. Don't have small forwards front and square to crumb at the fall of the ball
Then you deserve to lose.
We lost because we failed at doing the fundamentals. Too many Hollywood chasers tonight and not enough doing the bread and butter stuff right.
I haven't seen the stats but I would reckon at least 80% if not more of Adelaide's goal tonight directly came from our fumbles and U10s skill errors. It felt like 10 years ago when we use to play Norf and despite winning us getting first possession and winning the clearances they would win the game via sucker punch goals off flooding back and rebounding from our butchered F50 entries.
In the Carlton and St Kilda losses we were beaten up in the midfield. Tonight, we won enough of the ball but just softly handed it back to the Crows on a platter. We didn't respect the opposition tonight and they gave us what we deserved.
Signed one still peeved Tiger supporter >:( :banghead :rant :pullhair :damnpc :thumbsdown.
-
Great summary MT :clapping
-
Spot on MT
-
Nailed it MT.
I think also a bit of credit to Adelaide they certainly wanted it now than us. Also defence was a big fail tonight aswell. Himmelberg 4 goals and Tex dominating is a fail. Beaten everywhere in fact.

Ball carriers for Adelaide allowed to run and kick inside 50 unimpeded doesn’t help our defenders at all. But it’s true also that a punching spoil or two wouldn’t be a bad idea if your a key defender.
-
It why Macca is so important to our side, Lambert and Macca have been the most courageous in this area, it hurts when you keeping running when your body wants you to double up
-
We gave up 10 goals from stoppages :help.

Round 5 Report Card
Catherine Healey and David Zita
Foxsports
19 April 2022
RICHMOND
The Tigers are sitting in the middle of the pack at 2-3 after the loss to Adelaide. Their forwards looked good in patches but were unable to put in a four-quarter effort. They finished +10 in inside 50s, +6 in centre clearances and +12 in hitouts but couldn’t make the most of their first use. The 33-13 free kick count against them didn’t help the cause at Adelaide Oval.
In the votes
Nick Vlastuin found plenty of the footy in his first game for season 2022. The defender finished with 21 touches, nine marks, 10 intercepts and five score involvements. Nathan Broad also made a welcome return with six intercepts and 15 touches. Shai Bolton was unable to hit the scoreboard but was impressive in the middle with 10 clearances.
Room for improvement
Robbie Tarrant couldn’t go with Elliot Himmelberg in the second half. Himmelberg had both a height and reach advantage that the Crows made the most of. Jack Riewoldt had a rough day with just seven touches. He managed two goals from his three shots but was ineffective when down the other end, Taylor Walker had five.

Finally got around to watching the replay
All I will say is the TV makes it look better than what it actually was live
-
Disgusted seeing Walker 10 votes. Understand we have had a lot of success but that loss should hurt on multiple levels.
-
Yeah especially when they took the 2017 Premiership off us and gave it to them after the match.....oh wait...... :shh
-
Power Ranking 10. RICHMOND (2-3, 99.3%)
Last week’s ranking: 7
After years of being remarkably consistent, we’re back to last year’s early-season Tigers, who alternated wins and losses for two and a half months and reached 7-5 before winning just two games for the rest of the season. Their potential is still there, and on expected score they should have beaten Adelaide - and even losing that game isn’t a disaster, since it was at Adelaide Oval - but it’s another sign that this side is middle of the road rather than anything spectacular.

Bottom line as well as they are getting games into young blokes Adelaide are not contenders and even for an injury riddled team yet alone us to lay down and play such soft footy says it all.
