Not sure who Mitch Hinge is but must be a big out

Hinge is critical to them opening up the corridor

One might say their midfield Hinges on him
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Adelaide have only won one game so far this year, but Hardwick believes they could easily have won three of their first four games and he is “bullish” about where they’re headed.

“It’s going to be a really tough contest on their home deck and I like the way they’re going about it,” Hardwick said.

“I think they’re going to be a good side, not only this year but moving forward.”

Hardwick said the recent inclusion of Taylor Walker will only make them harder to beat.

“Him coming in is a good get for them and we’ve got to make sure we’ve got adequate defenders to take him out of the equation because he’s such a dominant player when he’s playing good footy,” Hardwick said of Walker, who kicked four goals in his first game back last week.

Dimma added that Adelaide on offensive like to possess and move the ball forward quickly with short passes. So it will be up to our team defence to hinder that and force the Crows to kick to contests.

Adelaide's Walker an AFL key: Tigers coach

Steve Larkin
AAP
Fri, 15 April 2022

Richmond coach Damien Hardwick says his side's ability to curtail Adelaide's attacking ace Taylor Walker will be pivotal to the outcome of Saturday's AFL clash.

Walker booted four goals last week on his return from a six-game suspension for a racist slur.

And Hardwick has no doubt about Walker's importance to the Crows ahead of their Adelaide Oval fixture.

"He's one of those guys who knows how to play the game," Hardwick said.

"He kicked four (goals) last week and won a lot of possessions inside 50, which is really damaging.

"We have got to make sure that we've got adequate defenders to take him out of the equation because he's such a dominant player when he's playing good footy."

Richmond sit in 10th place with two wins and two losses this year while Walker's Crows are 12th with just one win - but two of their defeats have been by one point to Fremantle and four points to Essendon last start.

"I'm really bullish about where they're at, they could quite easily be 3-1," Hardwick said of Adelaide.

"They had close losses to Essendon and Fremantle, they've got a really definable style of play that they're trying to implement and they're doing it well.

"They've got some great young players that have stepped in and are playing some good roles.

"It's going to be a really tough contest on their home deck.

"I like the way they're going about it and I think they're going to be a good side, not only this year but moving forward."

THE CERTAINTIES FOR THE REST OF ROUND 5

Andrew Slevison
SEN
15 April 2022

Adelaide v Richmond

Laird and Keays to gather 50+ combined touches and 10+ clearances

Rory Laird and Ben Keays have started well together in 2022.

After Laird missed the opening two rounds, the pair have combined for 121 disposals and 31 clearances in the last two weeks, at an average of 60.5 and 15.5.

Against a Richmond midfield that doesn’t win a huge amount of contested ball, Laird and Keays are expected to rack up the stats once again.

Banking on them to combine for at least 50 disposals and given their ability at the stoppage, they should also finish with 10 or more clearances as a duo.

Bolton to collect 15+ disposals and kick at least one goal

Shai Bolton has been one of Richmond’s very best in the opening four rounds and looks in the mood to take that form into the clash with the Crows.

In his last six outings (including two last season), Bolton has kicked 14 goals and picked up 98 disposals at averages of 2.3 and 16.3 respectively.

This year, his possessions/goals tallies have read 16 and 3 (Round 1), 17 and 2 (Round 2), 14 and 3 (Round 3) and 20 and 2 (Round 4).

Historically he has only played two games against the Crows, one of which was back in 2018 (his eighth game overall), before finding it 23 times and kicking a goal in Round 11 last season.

Bolton to pick up 15 touches and kick at least a goal should occur in Saturday’s meeting.

Touchwood we don't need to use our sub  :P  :pray.

We need to be switched on from the start as a team and bring the pressure of last week. We can't underestimate the Crows especially on their home ground.
