Reebok rumours have appeared on various websites. Have they signed with us for next year? Anyone in the know?
-
Maybe that explains why all the hummel stuff is on special at the moment
-
its a shame, i like hummel, we as i recall are the only clyb sponsored by hummel, i think reebok sponsor teh saints
oh well if it means more money 4 us why not
-

If this is true I will be a bit peeved because about 3 weeks ago I spent $220 on a new jacket ( it's an excellent jacket btw) plus I'v bought a new polo this season (even though I didn't like that desgin) and they'll become out of date.
But from a marketing perspective I've always been of the opinion that when it comes to apparel if you are the only club sponsored by a company (like us with hummel) and there quality is good that you have a distinct advantage in promoting your brand because your merchandise can be unique.
I think the biggest hurdle we've had this season with our gear is the polo in particular looks ordinary colourwise. The screen printed logos are a new concept to Australia (but the norm in Europe) and looks cheaper than they are. I have it on good authority that to screen print costs more than to embroid. But if Reebok is the new apparel sponsor we better get used to the printed on logos because that's what they do too
also....
Reebok currently sponsor Freo & North. A long time ago they sponsored the Bombers.
-
No comment from the Club at this stage but an announcement will be made in the next month or so as to the arrangements for both the Tiger Den and apparel sponsor going forward.
-
From same BF post:
"Reebok will be the gear sponsor next year and beyond, replacing hummell. They will also assist in fitting out the new gymnasium."

Richmond runs with Reebok

Reebok, one of the world’s top sporting brands, has joined forces with Richmond.
The Tigers have signed Reebok as their new apparel partner on a two-year deal, which will take effect from the end of the 2006 season.
Reebok, which was founded around the same time as the Richmond Football Club in the late 19th century, has long enjoyed a reputation as an innovator in the global sports arena.
“I’m very pleased to announce Reebok as our new apparel partner for the next two years,” said Richmond CEO Steven Wright.
“Reebok is a global brand, with a very strong presence in the sporting and leisure industries and we are excited about the technological opportunities they’ll be able to provide our club.”
The Managing Director of Reebok Australia, Michael Hendler, said Richmond was an ideal fit for Reebok to be associated with.
“Reebok is delighted about the new partnership with the Richmond Football Club. We are proud to be associated with an AFL club that has such a rich history and bright future as the Tigers, and look forward to sharing many successes together.”
Meanwhile, Richmond has also confirmed that its retail store at Punt Road, the Tiger Den, will return to a situation of being managed by the Club.
“I’d like to acknowledge and thank our existing apparel partner, Concept Sports International, for the support they have given us over the past four years,” Wright said.

I didn't realise this - What does that actually mean ? Who is it run by atm ?

CUB
As per the RFC annual report from 2005 - the tiger's den is currently run by Concept Sports - they pay the CLub a guaranteed fee for Merchandise sales the contract expires at the end of the this season. Check out any receipt you get from the Tiger's Den and it will say Concept Sports.
:thumbsup
-
If we are smart, we will turn the den into a sports superstore not only carrying Our stuff, but soccer kits supplied by Adidas and Reebok. International kits like Greece and Italy and England and Australia for example, the best known English Premier League Clubs etc, some of the top Italian and Greek clubs. Further we should also sell some Rugby tops especially when Melbourne stages Rugby Internationals, Videos, Scarfs, Flags etc etc...Richmond should do it properly. The market does not end with Richmond supporters. It begins with Richmond supporters and ends with anyone who has an interest in these other sports.
-
Thanks WP, shows how much attention I pay to these things.
Good idea rampaging, the Den gets a lot of supporters through on match days and not just tigers, I actually saw skunks the other week. Usually lots opf kids as well, with things like the world cup of soccer just recently. I am sure they would of sold stuff like that when it was on.
-
Just poped over to the tiger den as saw some of the hummel stuff going out extra cheap.
Was speaking to the girl in the shop and got a description of the new jumper designs, They are along the lines of the white and black one's of this year (no silver) with a bigger tiger head in colour and the claw marks re the 1998 - 2003 jumper. Sounds pretty good. Will be out around november.
The polo's etc should be out around start of october and are basically the same as north but in yellow and black (captain obvious).
Much better than this years stock so looks like some Xmas shopping on the cards in a few months time :thumbsup

Does that mean the silver top taxi sponsorship is over?
I like the idea of adding the claws back.
-
Just a note on Reebok they screen print the logos on thier clothes like hummel did.
I know I was critical of hummel doing it because I reckon it looks cheap (plastic like)- much prefer the embroided look myself. And just another point I've been told that it actually costs more to print the logos than to embroid :-\
It seems to be a European thing
And on the mocked up top MT's done - hmmm maybe just a touch too much yellow ;D
Does that mean the silver top taxi sponsorship is over?
Probably up for renewal - October is drawing close :thumbsup

:clapping :clapping :clapping agree!

The reebok logo is now up on the mainpage of the RFC website but they still have Hummel on the sponsors page ???. The RFC doesn't yet appear on the Reebok website either as yet.
As WP mentioned Joel is wearing the new reebok polo:

Can they get Tiger logo any bigger - and just by looking at the photo - the logas are all screen printed :chuck :rollin
Actually surprised to see them wearing reebok today (31/10/06) thought they didn't come on board officially until 1/11/06 ;D

That's good but.....
It's a pity that the RFc haven't made a huge deal about Reebok like Port Adelaide has.... :-\

That clash jumper is a shocker :chuck
it was revealed that Reebok’s exclusive Play Dry™ technology will be incorporated into the on-field kits for 2007. The fit of the guernseys – both home and clash – will change to be closer to the body, and the hemline will be altered to allow for the specifics of the AFL athlete.

Will the Tiges also have a similar close-fitting guernsey?

The Tiger Den now has a few of the new Reebok gear up on the stands. The polo tops are selling for $80 for men and $70-75 for ladies.

Well it shouldn't be too hard for them Ramps seeing they are the apparel supplier to the A-League.
Just take the Victory's top and swap the blue bits for black and the white bits for yellow and you have lift off :thumbsup ;D

The current Tiger Den is too small. I can't remember if the redevelopment plans include a much larger Tiger Den shop.
-

I reckon it's a bit early to say to be honest. I don't think you can blame the Club for the design of the polos for example - all clubs sponsored by Reebok would have the same design - just the colours would be different
With a new apparel sponsor/supplier and it being the "off season" the stuff for the shop will come in "dribs & drabs". Reebok's priority at this stage would be to ensure all the players are decked out in the sponsors gear
Guarantee you though come the family day just before Xmas and the shop will be full.
As for the "On-line" shop - well that's another story
-
Online line shop not bad now. Got my pre season guernsey today. Still not on display in shop as big launch next week (Thursday). Maybe the reason it's not in the online shop as yet also, so wont post any pics yet.
I like it, may get one for myself too later (yeah I'm a big kid) :thumbsup
-
Actually had a look at the online shop yesterday.
Quite funny - under training gear there's a couple of items that someone has litterally taken out of the packet and photographed - all the fold lines are there ;D
-
The Chrissy catalogue has been sent out with the reebok gear. If you buy a polo top you get a free cap.

They must think us tiger supporters are so tough we don't need long sleeves ;D.

Reebok have finally added the RFC onto their site - reebok.com.au (about reebok -> athletes, teams, celebrities)
-
Check out Rainesy in the new catalogue that comes with the latest edition of the Fighting Tiger Bulletin.
In the first pic with the long sleeve jumper he looks like a Auskick kid at half-time lol. In the second pic where he is wearing the white training top I thought it was Geoff for a second. That is scary! :gobdrop

Gotta say the pic of young Tyler Fishlock modelling a jumper (a few sizes to big ;)) in the catalogue is a gem
-
I couldn't get over how much Rainsey looks like his old man. Strong genes in Geoff! How's Polak - 2 secs in the club and already he's modelling stuff.

Itneresting though both Adelaide and St George-Illawarra were both sponsored by adidas in 2009 .... adidas owns Reebok ;D

The 2010 merchandise is arriving in late November. So by December the Tiger Den will have a lot of the "summer" stuff I was told. Polos and that sort of thing.

I didn't see any of the 2010 gear hanging up though in the Tiger Den today as I walked past it. Seems you can only get some of the new gear online.
Auslab is still one of our sponsors TA going by the RFC website. Only Connex is gone as it obviously no longer exists.

This stuff has been on order since August. There are no excuse this year. The player stuff only turned up in time for the photos in the last week of Jan
The Xmas catalogue said Media Polos due 1st Feb, Media Caps due Jan 2010, White training caps were due Dec 09 arrived late Jan. It is now coming up to the 2nd week of Feb.
I wanted my Polo which I ordered pre-Xmas for the game in Tassie
I suppose we should be grateful the jumpers have arrived and at least we have some 2010 stuff to sell :-\
