Bauer (hammy) sadly will be a forced out.
Fire away with your changes?
-
Full strength team. Need a % booster to try and get ahead of g-town
-
Nank will be a forced out too
-
Nank will probably get weeks so there's another forced change. I am struggling to see MJR keeping his spot, he really looks lost with the ball, it's as if he is scared to make a mistake and therefore either doesn't take possession or gives it off. Then again a couple of goals might help so therefore a game against WCE might help.

Mansells suspension over now? Coaches seem to love him although I doubt they’d bring him back in after 3 week suspension + 1 week bye without any footy.
Hard one this week. I would have been all over dropping Graham but saved himself with that last qtr and 2 clutch goals. Also still don’t like Pickett as a fwd although was more involved today. with jack Ross excelling on the wing it’s gotta be either him or kmac in the team for me personally.
Haven’t read/watched the vfl game but given we lost to the bottom side I can’t imagine there were too many stand out performances so take my ins with a pinch of salt.
Out: Bauer (inj.), Nank (susp.), Pickett (omitted).
In: Brown, Ryan, Cumberland

Andy, you seriously believe Ross should be dropped? Soldo will come in and i believe Mansell will be straight back as a small forward.

He also has Ross coming in…

In: Soldo, Dow and Brown

Agree with this.
-
Ryan plays better when Nankervis isn't there and he's the first ruck. Club will likely go with Slomo though. :shh

Out as sub into full team I meant didn't explain that well

He also has Ross coming in…
The Maxwell Smart old ‘out in’ trick.
-
OUTS: Bauer (inj), Nank (stupidity & susp)
INS: Soldo,
**Ross as sub remains in first 22
-
Ryan destroyed that Eagles ruck last time, bring him in.
-
Does Riewoldt make the trip? I suppose we don't have much option, but I bet it would have been part of the plan this year to rest him for this one, possibly Cotch too.

Named my son Maxwell haha
Wife has never seen the show...

I know it’s the eagles but last week they showed that any team which takes another lightly has the potential to get upset.
Even saying so I wouldn’t be totally against resting jack and/or cotch however we just had the bye 2 weeks ago. Prior to that they played like 10 games straight or something. Trip doesn’t really align with when they should be needing a rest.

In: Soldo, Cumberland, Ross (into 22)
Out: Nank (susp.), Bauer (inj.), Banks (to sub).
-
Cumberland doesn't deserve a recall yet
-
Problem is no one in the ressies performed to replace Bauer. Trezise was arguably the best, but he plays in defence and we don't need another interceptor. I only chose Cumberland to try and maintain the same sort of structure.

Fair point but Ryan can play fwd and alternate with soldo in the ruck.. give Jack the second tall roll
-
Agree that Ryan has looked good as first ruck. Would like tonsee him play there against the witches hats.
Pretty soon he will have more games under his belt than Soldo anyway.
-
Soldo and Mansell in with Pickett to continue playing as a marking forward.

Your turn :shh

In: Soldo, Cumberland, Ross (into 22)
Out: Nank (susp.), Bauer (inj.), Banks (to sub).
Be good to give Bradtke a go, before we're forced to... regardless of his vfl form
In: Soldo, Bradke, Ross (into 22)
Out: Nank (susp.), Bauer (inj.)
Sub: Banks.. or Riewoldt to come on late and kick 5
-
Reckon Mansell might come straight back in
-
Surely Ryan comes in to ruck for nank? Do we rest prestia seeing as we need his Italian ham hocks when we go against melb?
-
Maybe Biggie will get a shot??
-
Soldo in for mine. Reckon Ryan needs a spell in the twos.
-
The only reason you'd bring in Slomo is that if he kicks a goal it guarantees a win...other than that he's a useless lumbering lump...Ryan on the other hand has shown that he thrives as first ruck and when Nank isn't in the side, dominated WC's rucks last time and was at least clunking his marks in the VFL even if his set shot kicking left a lot to be desired....so it's Ryan for me - for now & the future...MC however will likely go with the big Croatasaurus because they just itch to play him whenever they can and they generally don't trust the kids - last week's selections notwithstanding (where they still dropped more kids than they brought in)..... :shh

Sound argument but Ryan was looking tired to me and was being pushed around at will. A match hardened Soldo for mine during the big boy month. Agree Ryan is the future though.

Soldo and Mansell in with Pickett to continue playing as a marking forward.

Ivan Soldo is set for just his second AFL game this year after missing most of the season with a plantar fasciitis issue, replacing the suspended Toby Nankervis in the ruck. Rhyan Mansell is available for selection after his own three-match ban, while there's a spot forward on offer after Jacob Bauer's hamstring injury. Jack Ross played so well on the wing after coming on as sub, there's a chance the Tigers will persist with Marlion Pickett in attack, or bring in Mansell or Noah Cumberland. The other asterisk is on whether the Tigers will rest Jack Riewoldt (with Samson Ryan in the wings) or Trent Cotchin for the trip to Perth to face West Coast.

Can't rest Jack.
Forward line would be who, Ryan and Miller? Eek, not sure about that. But if Jack is busted up we might have no choice since WCE are our best opportunity to rest him.
Would consider resting Cotch for a week given that Hopper and Prestia are back.

Out Nank, Bauer, Cotchin (managed)
In: Soldo, Ryan & Mansell

Don't think we should be taking them lightly - not sure we have the composure St.Kilda had to fight back if they jump us and put us under scoreboard pressure with the crowd & the umpires behind them. :shh
-
St kilda are bereft of more than just composure
-
Yeah they're a shytetruck but on that occasion they showed composure - will we if put in the same situation? Recent history suggests it's no certainty we will -bearing in mind doing it against sides you're expected to easily account for brings a pressure of it's own. e.g. v Norf & GC in recent times. :shh

I think under Mini they will respond if under the pump. Have seen some good results in close ones so far.

Tigers ponder ruck replacements for suspended skipper
By AAP
13 July 2023
Andrew McQualter is considering fit-again "big dude" Ivan Soldo to fill the Richmond ruck void left by suspended co-captain Toby Nankervis for the clash with West Coast.
It has opened the door for Soldo or Samson Ryan to return to the senior side, while Ben Miller served as Nankervis' ruck partner in last week's win over the Swans.
Soldo, who featured in the Tigers' 2020 premiership side, has been limited to just one senior match this season because of a battle with foot injuries.
"He's just struggled to get some continuity, which three weeks in a row now he's been able to get," Richmond interim coach McQualter told reporters on Thursday.
"(His form) is improving. When you miss a lot of football like Soldo has it takes a little bit of time to get your touch back.
"He's certainly in great physical condition - he's a big dude - and with three weeks of footy hopefully he's been able to improve his touch."
Versatile ruck-forward Ryan has played 14 senior games this season but was dropped last week and played back-up to Soldo in the VFL, where he spent most of his time in attack.
The 22-year-old played one of his best AFL games as the lead ruckman in a win over West Coast back in round eight.
"Long-term we think Samson's going to be a No.1 ruck but we also know how hard it is for a young kid to carry the ruck," McQualter said.
"He's shown he's able to do it and he's been a great second ruck at times, as well, and we're really excited about his future."
