INS Thomson Dow,
A well earned reward for going back the VFL and still being shyte for two weeks running... :clapping
-
Did Campbell play last week? Look at what happened when we played Ryan!!!! are these guys that good that we can just rush em straight back in.
Im a Campbell fan but he had clearly ran out of steam and form yet he doesnt have to find some confidence and touch in the two's
Just no logic.
How does Tyler Sonsie keep his spot after a 3 disposal game. This kid shows a distinct lack of like for contact.
How did Shortsteps escape again after so many soft as butter non efforts.
Samson Ryan after a typical horrible one handed 6 disposal game where we might as well play with a cardboard cut out.
Skinny no inside game Dow instead of the bigger bodied McAuliffe who would have at least been a like for like replacement for Taranto.
Or why not both its not as if we are brimming over with mids.
No Blight you have to scratch your head and wonder what the hell are they thinking. No Bauer either
Really am starting to question if Yze knows what he is doing.
I have wanted Smith in the team for months but i think it would be best if he didn't play this week. You just know it will the likes of him who cop it in the neck.
Anyway with those outs what i think we should have gone with.
Broad - Miller - Trezise
Smith - Blight - Rioli
HRS - Hopper - Brown
Nankervis - McAuliffe - Prestia
Bolton - Balta - Bauer
Mansell - Kossie - Green
Baker - Dow - Campbell -Banks.
Taranto inj = McAuliffe, Vlastuin inj =Trezise, Graham inj = Dow, Sonsie omit = Campbell, Short omit =Smith, McIntosh omit = Bauer,
Ryan omit = Blight,
Vlastuin and Taranto can't be replaced but the rest of the replacements are mostly upgrades based on form.

The tank is on

Well who would have thought the kids would get such a good go , it’s great , kids get experience and if they haven’t go it, the door and we get the first pick , sounds like a good plan

Why is everyone so excited about pick 1 in an even draft. None of our premiership players came from pick 1.
It's like dancing with your sister.
I'd rather not finish last, but that's me.

Young trio return to line-up
By Richmond Media
Richmond has added three youngsters to its line-up for Saturday night's clash with Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.
Talented forward Seth Campbell returns to add to the 15 career games he's played this year, after the second-year Tiger was managed in Round 18.
Meanwhile, Thomson Dow and Kaleb Smith have been recalled to the senior side after strong performances in the VFL Tigers' win over reigning premier Gold Coast last Sunday.
Nineteen-year-old defender Smith racked up 22 disposals, nine tackles, seven rebound-50s and five marks in the victory, an outing VFL coach Steve Morris described as "a class above".
"The work that Kaleb is putting in at the footy club each and every morning is certainly paying off," Morris said.
"His cleanliness with his hands really stood out... He's in great form."
Midfielder Dow also amassed 22 disposals, to go with four clearances and three marks.
"Thomson was really good again for us. I’m loving what he's bringing to our team," Morris said of Dow.
"He's a great teammate, and he certainly got to work on the inside with 14 contested possessions."
The inclusions replace Nick Vlastuin, who is out with a back complaint, Jack Graham, who will miss with a minor hip issue, and Tim Taranto, who suffered a concussion in last Sunday's loss to GWS.
Vlastuin will be fit to return to face Collingwood in Round 20, while Graham is also a solid chance to be back for the MCG clash.
Richmond’s three emergencies are Noah Cumberland, Matt Coulthard and Jacob Blight.
Speaking to the media on Thursday morning, senior coach Adem Yze said Saturday night's match was an opportunity for the Tigers to "test (themselves) against a finals type-team in a hostile environment".
"(Port Adelaide's) strong in the contest and their stoppage numbers are top four in the comp," he said.
"We understand that's something we need to be mindful of... We're going to go over there and try to match them in that area.
"Their ball movement is really fast... and at home, they're obviously in really good form.
"We can't wait to get over there."

Graham - Hip
Floss - back

Would’ve liked to see sonsie get midfield time and not bring in Dow. The club must see something in Dow to keep playing him… I just don’t see it unfortunately.
Would also like to find a way to get Blight in the team but that won’t happen with Balta and Miller down back.

Totally agree. Wooden spoon is not something to aim for.

FMD Jayden craps his pants shortsteps across hb and Smiffy named on the bench. Kid can look forward to another 5 minute cameo from the sub bench.
Coaches comments from the weekend
looked a class above. His cleanliness with his hands really stood out and he had a huge nine tackles as a defender, He's in great form.
That to go with his 7 rebound fifties and 22 disposals. and he plays with a hardness that Short can only dream of.
He has pace to burn and he doesn't panic.
What is wrong with this MC.
Freakin flappers McIntosh back to a wing wtf how poor does he have to be before he gets scrutinised.
Sonsie just three disposals and fair dinkum if he cannot find some toughness because he plays scared then he is done.
Samson freakin Ryan who can't take a mark at the level and can't find the ball. Another game that was so far off the standard it was not funny. Yet we drop Blight. for him never to be seen again.
Fair enough we copped the three injuries somhow. But fairdinkum Ryan, Sonsie, McIntosh and Short should have been dropped.
Only good thing about all this is Smiffy has been picked i only hope he starts and they show semblence of common sense.

Yep agree.
Still would be nice to somehow split the #1 pick add another pick to it for say pick 4 and 8.
Reckon one of Langford, Smillie, Lalor, or smith and Armstrong at pick 8 would be ideal for us.
Supposed to be a very even strong draft past 30.
-
Stoopid. Let’s get pick 1 and get it done. Rumour is Jagger Smith is playing ressies for us soon. Super exciting.

Because you get the kid you want, period.
I never buy this crap about it being an even draft, great top 5 then all the same 6-30, shallow this, deep that. It's garbage. They get it wrong every stinking year.
There's always blokes top 5-10 that are trash and blokes who have fun careers of 200+ games down in R4.
My biggest gripe with P1 is that a lot of kids struggle with the expectation IMO but we may as well get it if we can and split it up.

Its not a rumour, its fact.
He will be 23rd man for a few games coming up. :thumbsup

I don’t think finishing last has the same stigma attached to it anymore.
Someone said something on here that I agree with - top 4 or bottom 4 , everything else is a waste of time .
-
I’m not excited about finishing last , but when your side reads like the seconds side that’s the reality. Either go with it or start stabbing the senior players in the back to vent your frustration like so many others.
The only benefit is that we get the opportunity to pick the best player available as other clubs seem to be able to nail the pick, maybe like me you think we will waste it on some skinny flanker regardless of where our pick is.
-
Have we seen the best players in the draft the last few years?
Daicos, JHF and Harley Reid.
We have had 1 pick 1 in my memory and it was Brett Deledio. We haven't drafted anyone decent in first round since Dan Rioli. It's OK to get excited we have the first hit at the entire draft of which is strong. We have a variety of players that we can choose to begin our rebuild with. Could go with Jagga Smith a Lachie Neale, Rozzee type accumilator or a Josh Smillie big sized Bont, Fyfe type or go with a Lalor, Trainor depending.
18th - 9th is the same, if you get upset because someone teases you for being last, it'll be OK. Give us best pick possible lease or play finals.
