Thanks Norf! ;D
In: Norf's F1
Out: Our F2 + pick 27
-
Haha! Riley Beveridge just said North went to every club in desperation offering their F1 starting from pick 8. We said thank you very much ;D.

If that’s true, then pretty unreal we were the 1st ones to accept, especially after say a pick 15 or so.
-
Seems a strange deal from Norths point of view, what's pick 27 worth? And their F1 is likely to be a top 4 pick
-
Yes and we give them our f2 likely to be mid 20's
Essentially 2 mid 20's for a pick that could be 5-10. Is it really that good?
Let's see where they finish next year
-
Yes, 2 picks in the mid-late 20s for a pick in the top10 really is that good.
If they somehow become a top8 side, then we can have another conversation.
-
History would suggest North won't be bottom 4. Think they've now equalled the most bottom 4 finishes in a row. I think this pick will be picked 6-8. Which is still a huge win.
-
Pick 27 + F2 (pick 20) = Pick 7 in terms of draft points.
Pick 27 + F2 (pick 22) = Pick 8
Pick 27 + F2 (pick 24) = Pick 9
Pick 27 + F2 (pick 27 or 28) = Pick 10
https://www.draftguru.com.au/pick-value-calculator
What our F2 is worth next year depends not only on where we'll finish (likely last) but also on how many Academy & F/S bids there will be in the 2025 draft.
-
not that much of a godfather deal IMO. Also it doesnt factor in what we are giving up in this draft, vrs a weaker one next year.
guys like Shanahan, whitlock and dodson. North is a safe bet for a top 5-7 pick. Any other club is not so i hope we dont give it up and choose one of the boys mentioned esp the former.
-
If another club offered a F1 around 5-10 pick for P28 I'd be considering it.
To have another 3 in the top 10 for 2025 would be sensational.

which club andy?
i would be very careful giving it to a club like cats or pies. In fact on principle tell them to fo. Dogs, eagles have the next 2 so you would think it not them. Suns have enough talent so its not them.
keep the pick Richmond.

West coke for example, any club we think is a bottom 4 chance really.
Elsewise I like the 3 you mentioned but I'd be quite reluctant not to take a ruck ie Dodson.
-
I’d certainly consider trading for a top pick next year. We’ve already taken 2 key position forwards, not sure we should be taking another. Maybe a key back if there’s one we still rate highly like a Jack Whitlock (although he’s listed as a fwd), or a ruck like Dodson. I’m not a big fan of drafting rucks, they are such a coin flip which almost always don’t pan out at their original clubs.
-
Think it depends if there is a player that fits the mpuld we need.
Do we need a 3rd KPF in the draft? Jack Whitlock and Jobe Shanahan are still there. Unsure if we pick 3.
Do we take another mid which we only have drafted 2 but 2 elite mids. Gross and Moraes are there.
Can't see us taking Dodson the ruck.
If we aren't taking another Key Forward, which I'm open too but 3 in 1 draft is rare. Id trade the lock to any bottom 12 club for a F1.

same.

What about the bombers? They’ve got their own as well as demons 1st rounder next year. They do have a pick only 4 or 5 spots down from us so maybe they don’t really need it but their forward line sucks so maybe they want to garauntee they get Shanahan.
Bombers absolutely cooked up this draft. Gambled that a bid for kako would come in before their pick 9 so traded it away and then it never came. Could have got a player with pick 9 and kako :lol
-
Taken enough talls this draft. Reckon we'll try and get another F1 & try get back into next year's 2nd round as well and either take Davidson -who I don't rate- with a later pick and leave the last spot free for pick 1 in the rookie draft or the SSP. Personally hope we take Gross. I like Gerryn but as I I've said reckon we've already taken one tall too many for my liking. :shh
-
Let’s grab another mid this year,
2 x top 10 picks next year is likely so we’re going to end up with 4 top 10 picks across 2 drafts

Reaction on the Norf forum.
Stupidest thing xxxxxxx ever. Seriously wtf.
Are we off our ****?
I can't believe we just did that oh my god there's no way thats anything but a disaster.
Who wants to form a lynch mob for Brady right now? This is the dumbest draft move in history!
Brady this is a completely horrible deal. We have traded pick 1-5 for pick 27 + probably 20ish.
This is horrible.
Ok just when I think Brady can't do anything stupider, he manages this trade. A potential top 5 pick for 27 and a pick in the 20s.... if F1 was going to go and you get 27/28 I kinda get that but we backed ourselves into a corner after trade week and we just continue to cave on trades, especially with Richmond. Like, what kind of incriminating photos do they have to continue to make us /Brady roll over?
And it wasn’t even the best Whitlock.. my God
Are we giving them CCJ back at least

Is Jason McCartney father son next year?
He's tipped to be top 5 pick I think. It might be why Roos want to trade out of first round.
-
Am away and missed the draft but awoke to a mate’s thunderbird laughing gif which surprised me as I thought perhaps we’d done something stupid but ahhhh nope. Lolnorf.
-

LMAO
-
If North finish bottom 3 next year they will not be giving us that pick, they would most likely shop it around to get multiple picks and give us the latest first round pick they get.

It's tied to their ladder position but it's our pick now and they can't do shyte with it, we can though. :shh

Nice one. thanks Dio

Now it makes sense
-
Just followed up Aiden McCartney is in All Aus U-16 team so 2026 draft and rated best tall in draft. So not impacting next year lol

Looking at the fixture, I can't see where norf pick up many games this season.
Going to be so fun watching them this year.
If Richmond land Dyson Sharp via the norf pick it'll be best thing since sliced bread
-
For their part, Richmond were happy with the trade deal which landed them an additional first-round pick for 2025, as they seek to build on this year's bumper draft haul.
"It's a good result, but trading of future picks is always dangerous," Tigers football talent manager Blair Hartley told Fox Footy.
"We've given them our future second, as well.
"You just end up death-riding every team in the competition if you give up too many picks for next year, which we kind of had this year.
"But we're excited the position we're in this year ... but having the two first-round picks for next year obviously puts us in a good position going forward."
