Caro named the players tonight on Ch7 news and then again on the agenda setters

The Age have published their names as well and of course the HUN has jumped on board now too

So we can’t name players that are on every news outlet in the country

Why bother with the thread ?

When I posted that at 6.30 last night the names hadn't yet been made public in the media.

Anyway, Caro went with 5 names. One of them denied they were interviewed by police. So, the rest of media are now going with the other four having been questioned by police while also covering themselves by stating, "There is no suggestion that the allegations are true, only that they have been made". All 5 have apparently driven back to Sydney in a hire car.

Don't forget Meatball, FJ! Some drunkard starts a fight, saw a stocky Mediterranean bloke at the pub earlier, so tried to go after Prestia's money.

Unbelieveable that the police actually tried to charge him, then later admitted there was zero evidence to even confirm Prestia was even there at all.

If there's CCTV footage of these Swines then by all means, go ahead, charge them, throw the book, and they should do jail time if it's a genuine assault. Until the police review the evidence and lay said charges though, they should be free as birds, and not trial by media and activist/virtue-signaling groups.

Agree with the latter
Until charged it shouldn’t have even entered the media etc

Their reputations are stuffed now regardless of guilt, which isn’t right

And for any female rights left nutters on the forum, my Mrs has been raped twice and struggles with it .. and make no mistake , if they are guilty of assault, I’d be one hoping they get the toughest penalty possible

But until then

Innocent until proven guilty

On Wednesday it was announced five Swans players - Riley Bice, Nick Blakey, Isaac Heeney, James Jordon and Chad Warner - will not be picked for the rest of the season, including finals, after the club ruled them out for breaching club standards and behaviours.

Sydney has not ruled out further sanctions once the outcome of the police investigation is clear.

The five banned players are expected to release a statement later today.

Flag aspirations over, you'd think.

I have heard quite a detailed rumour of what happened. Not surprised at the players being ruled out if it's true.

And if it's true I would anticipate that at least one high profile player will be successfully charged.

Five banned Swans break their silence

In a joint statement, Riley Bice, Nick Blakey, Isaac Heeney, James Jordon and Chad Warner said:

"We are deeply sorry to everyone involved. We know that our behaviour has fallen well short of the standards expected of us and the values of our club," the statement read.

"We know we have let down our partners and families, members, supporters, teammates, the AFLW team, corporate partners and everyone at the club and the wider community.

"We accept the club sanction and apologise for the impact this has had on those involved.

"Our focus will now be on rebuilding trust with the club and the community."

What does her occupation have to do with it? Are you suggesting it somehow mitigates what has allegedly occurred?

As for what he has  allegedly done,  there's been speculation in the media that's all but nil comment from the police. Which is as it should be when it's an ongoing investigation

just answer the question its not that hard. By the way its okay for you to insinuate and cast judgement but then when others do its an insult. :lol You are really not that bright are you.

Anyway to other posters which 4 do you take. Id be very keen on Blakey if he leaves. We have the money to take him and he would suit us perfectly.

then nek min just read this in the HUN  :lol

The Herald Sun can also reveal Swans footballers are alleged to have referenced Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s controversial “melons” comments about Japan’s first female Prime Minister while they were taking lap dances.

One player is alleged to have referred to another as having “done an Albo”.

In a highly criticised appearance on the “Bush Deep” podcast, Mr Albanese talked about “melons” gifted to him by Japanese PM Sane Takaichi.

Why do you always have resort to insults, when you are asked a reasonsble question?

Why the need by you to bring up and I'll quote your here "She is a stripper right", you know her occupation. It has absolutely zero bearing on what the allegations are. You raised that and I asked why? Instead of answering you have as you always do gone the attack and thrown in a few insults for good measure.

Your constant need to unsult and belittle others (e.g. "You are really not that bright are you.") is duly noted.

I answered your question or did you miss that :huh

So here you go this is my answer to your question which you have conveniently ignored:

"As for what he has allegedly done,  there's been speculation in the media that's all but nil comment from the police. Which is as it should be when it's an ongoing investigation"

Or is it a case of you not liking the answer?

And in answer to your last sentences, you know the question

I wouldn't be taking any of them. Why? because each player even though are not the person under investigation for the alleged sexual assault were on the room and allegedly did nothing to stop what was taking place. They may not end up being charged but they are still guilty.

So taking on any of them by extension is condoning their behaviour. Happy to call it guilty by association

Don't give poo if anyone agrees or not.

Pretty simple
Innocent until proven guilty

People are pretty quick to pass judgement on rumours.

Nobody knows what happened in that room apart from those that were there. And certainly nobody in this forum knows.

Might not be anywhere near as bad as people think

It might be worse

I see it’s taken less than a week for them to come out and say they are going to sue

How predictable

And saying they thought they were carpenters ??? Give me a spell

As I’ve said in another post, my Mrs has been raped twice. If they’ve copped it bad, I’ll be the first saying I hope they get their right whack.

The Sydney Swans supports the action taken by Victoria Police in releasing today’s statement regarding the investigation.

The Sydney Swans categorically confirms that no member of staff is involved in the investigation. This includes being in the hotel room central to the police investigation.

The Club reiterates that no player has been interviewed by police at this stage.

------------------------

Victoria Police said in a statement “a number of people” have been spoken to as detectives continue their inquiries.

“Detectives from the Sexual Crimes Squad continue to investigate a report of a sexual assault in East Melbourne on 17 August,” Victoria police said.

“The incident occurred at a hotel on Wellington Parade in the early hours of the morning.

“The exact circumstances of the matter are still being established and a number of people have been spoken to.

“As the investigation remains active and ongoing, we will not be commenting further including providing information on the specific circumstances of the matter, movements of detectives and any statements or interviews taken.

“Where there is information that it is appropriate and beneficial to release then we will do so.”

‘Entire world turned upside down’: Woman in Swans sex assault claim explores civil action

Euan Kennedy
News,com,au
August 22, 2026

A third woman in the Sydney Swans alleged hotel sex assault incident has engaged legal representation for a potential civil claim.

Slater and Gordon senior lawyer Jackson Pannam said his client, who was involved in the alleged incident at the Pullman Hotel on Monday, had her world “turned upside down” by the “incredibly traumatic experience”.

He said his client was the woman who called police on Monday morning, and was continuing to speak with officers investigating an alleged sexual assault.

“At Slater and Gordon, we see the profound and long-lasting impact that serious injury, loss and abuse can have on people’s lives,” Mr Pannam said.

“Everyone deserves to be safe going about their life, at home, at work, and in public spaces without risk of being assaulted or harmed.

“We’re standing with our client to support her during this difficult time and to help her get the justice she deserves.”

Any civil claim would be separate to any criminal proceeding.

On Friday, two other women involved in the incident at the Pullman hotel confirmed through their lawyer they were also planning to take civil action against the Sydney Swans “sooner rather than later”.

Carbone Lawyers personal injury head John Karantzis represents those two women and labelled what allegedly happened to his clients in the hotel room the most “disgusting and degrading” thing he has heard in his nearly three decades in the job.

“I can’t go into detail but what I can say is the behaviour that the three women were subjected to are probably the most degrading and disgusting acts I’ve heard of in my 28 years as a lawyer,” he told the Herald Sun on Friday.

“What makes me say that? I’m the father of 22-year-old daughter and I wouldn’t want her or any female to be subjected to what they were subjected to.”

Just so I'm clear Andyy and Damo, the players are innocent until proven guilty and we should wait for all the facts, right? But you both appear to be saying the women involved should not be afforded the same standards?

As you've both inferred that they are lying re them saying they thought the players were carpenters despite the women saying that is what the players told them.

Damo, you suggested that if some of the rumours you've heard are true then "the furore is a joke". Understand your point there but....

I'll counter that by saying there was a 4 page spread in yesterday's HUN giving a timeline and details of what they are reporting as what happened. The Age also ran something similar. After reading both papers if only 50% of what was in those articles is true then the furore will grow at a rapid rate.

And just as another thing why weren't or haven't these players been drug tested? AFL & ASADA where are you? Don't hide behind the police investigation. You are entitled to drug test any player at any time. So why haven't you?

Title: Re: Sydney Swans hotel incident (10 news)
Post by: Andyy on August 23, 2026, 12:05:49 PM
@WP

Not suggesting they should be afforded anything.

Based on probability and deduction, I just simply do not buy that three separate women in Melbourne failed to recognise six established AFL players, including some of the biggest stars in the game, and thought they were tradies out on the beers in the early hours of a work day for regular blue collar people.

I am confident something inappropriate happened and have heard about it several days ago in detail, but the above is a part of a larger narrative that will have a bit of truth and a bit of mayo.

It’s amazing how paid strippers are being treated as the saints in all of this .. let’s not forget that these angels allowed coke to get snorted off their bodies

Do they deserve any wrongdoing, NO, NOT AT ALL

But let’s not pretend that working a profession that they do, didn’t play a role .. I find it hard to believe that two library clerks would nude themselves up for money and have coke snorted off their bodies and put themselves in the position that these woman did

If boundaries are crossed , it’s unacceptable

But I will wait and see what comes of it before making judgement ..

They knew the players were footballers .. they knew there was a chance for a huge payday

If there is criminal wrongdoing, players should be charged and pay the full penalty for their actions

If ANY of the five are innocent, they should be able to reverse sue the strippers for the amounts they are attempting to sue the players for .. plus legal fees, plus damages

We don’t know what went on as I mentioned previously. For all we know, one or more of the five didn’t assault the women.

It's not sex workers' fault that the male players ...
* went on a binge after only beating the bottom side in a meaningless game right before the finals.
* decided to cheat behind their partners' backs and left their partners publicly embarrassed and humiliated with the paparazzi media scum like the Daily Mail splashing their photos everywhere for clickbait.
* hired the sex workers to the hotel.
* allegedly had possession of the drugs.
* allegedly were the ones doing the snorting.
* got caught.
* destroyed relationships.
* got suspended by their club.

If they had just gone to bed, none of this would be happening. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!

And all that's only if everything is legal. If it's proven there was non-payment to the sex workers, then not playing footy will be the least of the players' worries.

https://www.theage.com.au/national/victoria/a-man-lied-about-paying-this-woman-for-sex-he-is-now-going-to-jail-for-rape-20260806-p60m0q.html

From AI Google:

Yes, it is strictly illegal to not pay a sex worker in Victoria. Refusing to pay or falsely promising payment is a serious criminal offense that can lead to severe penalties, including prison time.

Following the full decriminalisation of sex work under the Sex Work Decriminalisation Act 2022, sex services are legally recognized as standard commercial business transactions.

The legal consequences for non-payment are treated with extreme severity under Victorian law:

1. Criminal Charges for Sexual Offenses (Rape)
If a client falsely promises payment or misleads a sex worker to obtain sexual services without intending to pay, the law considers this a violation of consent. In Victoria, individuals who refuse to pay sex workers or lie about sending money transfers face prosecution for rape and sexual assault, resulting in custodial prison sentences.

2. Theft and Fraud
Because sex work is treated the same as any other occupation, withholding payment for services rendered constitutes commercial fraud or theft. As confirmed by Victoria Police, falsely telling a worker they will be paid or misleading them is a reportable criminal offense.

3. Civil Liability
Sex workers have the same legal standing as any other business operator or independent contractor. They have the legal right to pursue clients through the courts for breach of contract to reclaim unpaid debts.

For all we know, one or more of the five didn’t assault the women.

spot on. I Hope we get an explanation as to if they allowed coke to be put up their nose from their bodies.

I wonder how many times these girls allowed this in the past. They seemed pretty quick to go civil legal as well. :shh

Unless someone was punched or handled in an area that was off limits how can it be any worse than Balta?

Should be play on for at least 4 of the 5 players. They havent even tested positive for cocaine have they?

You can bet the lawyers headhunted those girls as soon as they saw 'AFL player accused' and pushed for civil, taking 50% of whatever they can get etc

As for the coke, not sure we'd even know, as the first strike is confidential, isn't it?

Not confidential if it is an in competition breach

Dopey Dillon confirmed yesterday that none of the 5 have been drug tested due to the police investigation

I was of the understanding it was still confidential and we wouldn't even know if they had been tested or not, irrespective of what Dillon says. Not aware of how a game day breach would be reported vs this. Clubs are still at liberty to make players unavailable if they are likely to test positive and breach anti-doping laws.

Additionally, it would not be considered an in-competition breach.
Governed by Sport Integrity Australia following WADA rules. It targets performance-enhancing drugs and substances banned in-competition (from the end of a game until 11:59 pm the night before a match). A positive test here is an official anti-doping breach

so when is the court case? :lol

Gee i hope the media and even some people on here didn't go early once again. Starting to smell a lot like chopsticks to me.

Apparently he left before the incident happened but again who knows if that's true, as Vic pol are still very busy investigating while sudanese run riot and blow up tobacco shops.

Compare that to how we treated Dusty after that BS chop sticks saga. He was given 2 weeks for that connors rubbish and nothing after the chop sticks. Balta copped 4 for knocking a bloke out who probably deserved it.

all 5 have had their name tarnished and we don't even know why.

No wonder Blakey left. Hope he smashes it at North who seem to have done their DD and found no issues at all with his character :shh media and some pundits on here know better though

If true, his crime was being out late on the beers, which he had permission to do.

Will make some on here look really silly if that’s the case.

I'll continue to wait until the Police investigation is over

Hope that's OK with any who are going early with there being "nothing to see here"

There might very well be plenty to see here

But if this is true , then Blakey has been extremely hard done by and having his name dragged through the mud is appalling

People judging him like some sort of sexual predator when it appears like it isn’t the case

The saddest thing for him is that this will stick with him forever .. what I’ve noticed with you over the years WP, is that for situations that suit , it’s “innocent until proven guilty”

With the Pullman Five (which is now looking like the Pullman Three, you are definitely “guilty until proven innocent”.

Bice and Blakey have had their names tarnished forever.
