August 22, 2026 A third woman in the Sydney Swans alleged hotel sex assault incident has engaged legal representation for a potential civil claim.
Slater and Gordon senior lawyer Jackson Pannam said his client, who was involved in the alleged incident at the Pullman Hotel on Monday, had her world “turned upside down” by the “incredibly traumatic experience”.
He said his client was the woman who called police on Monday morning, and was continuing to speak with officers investigating an alleged sexual assault.
“At Slater and Gordon, we see the profound and long-lasting impact that serious injury, loss and abuse can have on people’s lives,” Mr Pannam said.
“Everyone deserves to be safe going about their life, at home, at work, and in public spaces without risk of being assaulted or harmed.
“We’re standing with our client to support her during this difficult time and to help her get the justice she deserves.”
Any civil claim would be separate to any criminal proceeding.
On Friday, two other women involved in the incident at the Pullman hotel confirmed through their lawyer they were also planning to take civil action against the Sydney Swans “sooner rather than later”.
Carbone Lawyers personal injury head John Karantzis represents those two women and labelled what allegedly happened to his clients in the hotel room the most “disgusting and degrading” thing he has heard in his nearly three decades in the job.
“I can’t go into detail but what I can say is the behaviour that the three women were subjected to are probably the most degrading and disgusting acts I’ve heard of in my 28 years as a lawyer,” he told the Herald Sun on Friday.
“What makes me say that? I’m the father of 22-year-old daughter and I wouldn’t want her or any female to be subjected to what they were subjected to.”
