You can now vote on the RFC site for the clubs alternate clash stip.
See link:

IMHO it's a no branier - design 1 for me :thumbsup
-
Design 1 looks like the traditional one, but i voted for 2 because it has cleaner lines.
No. 1 looks like a mess to me
-
Im glad they went with MY DESIGN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
design 2 is clearly the better jumper.
its just a reverse strip, simple and not messy like design 1.
my question re/ design 1, is ...does it have a black back or yellow back???
i have a feeling both jumpers wont be accepted by teh afl as iirc , they both dont fit the criteria. i though ur alternate strip had to be something totally different foe eg. if ur jumper has a sash , ur alt jumper cannot have a sash, if ur jumper has hoops or stripes then ur alt jumper cannot have hoops or stripes.
but if tehse get through, design 2 for me
-
I cant vote unless I see what the back of the jumper looks like. I get the feeling however that Jumper 1 will win coz its closer to our original. That being said, I wouldnt discard the losing jumper from the battle. Id use the original jumper for most games, the clash jumper vs Essendon and the losing jumper of the 2 shown today in the Pre Season Cup. Everyone then wins lol ;D
-
Design 1 will win because its closer to our original strip, but I voted for design 2 afterall it is supposed to be a clash strip.
-
100 % with you WP - Design 1 by the length of the field - keeps the tradition of the famous yellow sash.
Just my little biatch but I reckon it should only be paid up members who should be able to vote, and we dont clash with Essenscum anyway :gotigers
-
I cant vote unless I see what the back of the jumper looks like.
That's the problem for me. If the back of the jumper is as busy as the front of the jumper, you add a number then it makes it difficult for the sight challenged (me) to see the numbers clearly. The less clutter, with just a number, is easy to see. Don't like a yellow strip, but there's not many options to pick from unfortunately.
-
Design 1 at this stage as the reverse is too dull and unoriginal. The clash jumper should make kids pester their parents to buy them one. I can't see that happening with what is essentially the old WA state of origin guernsey. I can't believe the AFL accepted the first design mind you. It isn't really a clash strip. If you were a bombers fan you'd be spewing that Richmond got to keep the black with yellow sash :thumbsup.
-
I hate the WA state of Origin jumper. HAAAAAATE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's ugly and unoriginal.
These designs are so dull but at least number 1 is close to the original strip so it'll get my vote.
Surely they could have provided a creative alternative to these conservative options. :P

The back is the same as the front - mainly black, yellow sash with the yellow on the sides showing a few inches on either side with the AFG logo and player numbers.

Design 2 is the old WA state jumper isn't it?
As for the AFL - I think they have seen both ;)

Sorry WP. I should have rephrased it better. I will be going for design 1 because design 2 (WA s.o.o. jumper) is dull and unoriginal.
Personally I think the club tried to appease the traditionalists too much and missed a golden opportunity. The simplicity of the designs is good but as Magic said there's hardly any creativity in either design. These clash strips are mainly for those under 20 who will buy and wear them.
As for the AFL - I think they have seen both ;)
That would make sense. The AFL are thick as two planks (Andy D and AA lol). The RFC have pulled a swifty basically keeping the traditional strip intact :clapping.

Help decide new Tiger guernsey
1:03:01 PM Thu 13 July, 2006
richmondfc.com.au
Richmond members and supporters have the opportunity to vote on-line for a new Tiger clash strip.
There are two options, which have been designed at the request of the AFL to avoid a clash when the Tigers meet Essendon.
The Club considered some more radical designs, but in the end opted to preserve Richmond’s heritage with respect to the colors and sash.
Design 1 is very similar to the traditional Tiger guernsey design, but there’s a lot more yellow incorporated. There are yellow side panels, a yellow collar, yellow around the sleeves, as well as a wider yellow sash.
Design 2 is a reverse of the normal jumper, with a black sash on a yellow background. It’s reminiscent of the old Western Australian State guernsey.

I voted for Design 1
-
I voted design 1 too. I wouldn't be too concerned with the side panels, as I think they'll appear no bigger than the ones on this years pre-season guernsey. So really we are only changing the lining around the neck and arms. :thumbsup
-
I voted for Jumper 2 in the end, coz i read the fine print of Jumper 1, i dont like yellow collars and I dont like yellow sleeves etc. Jumper 2 is also a cleaner look for our sponsors. VOTE FOR JUMPER 2!
-
Jumper One for me. We are not Claremont
-
#1 gets my vote as well
-
Tings often look different in reality to whats on a computer, I reckon Jumper 1 wont look as good as it does on the net. Reason is the side panels will probably be much bigger that what is shown.
-
number 2 , voted 10 times as i have 10 memberships lol. of course not all in my name , but i have a huge family lol
-
Vote and Vote often you reckon then X?
-
Vote and Vote often you reckon then X?
:lol i have lol, spent about 30 minutes just entering votes lol, hope they all count
-
Just looking at Various polls around the place its gonna be a really close vote. Looks like a 52-48 51-49 type count in % terms. Anyone ;D in here got some early poll information....you know the type...the type that just falls of the back of a truck and ends up on your desk lol...
-
Jumper One for me. We are not Claremont
Claremont are not real Tigers as the have Navy Blue jumpers with a yellow CFC symbol in the middle.
Urrrrghhh ! Cannot support them in WA, so go for the Perth FC that have provided Richmond FC with Wiley & Coughlan. :thumbsup
Go the Redlegs !

Wasnt this to be announced today...and the winner is ....

From the RFC site:
The Alternative Jumper Survey is now closed. The club will soon announce the new alternative playing Guernsey.
http://web.richmondfc.com.au/rfcjumper.htm
-
So what won? ;D
-
I asked about the clash strip today and they said a decision hasn't been made yet which is a bit strange given it was a members vote which finished a week ago. Anyway no news as yet and I was told the winning design will be posted on the RFC site.
-
I get the feeling that no2 won but the club wanted no1 design and there thinking what they should do about it lol.
-
the silence is deafening lol... :scream
-
I heard it was a draw, it was unamimously decided that they both sucked. :P
-

Truth in jest Magic :rollin. A missed opportunity by the Club.
-
And the winner is Design 1.
From what I was told it sounds as though the club is waiting on the release of next year's draw to see if we play Essendon away. If we don't then there's no need for the clash jumper in 2007.
-
thats a shocking decision, I will boycott next year if we dont get another 1st round pick to make up for this fiasco and farce! ;D
-
We've pulled a swifty on the AFL with that clash strip that really isn't a clash strip. It is a farce. Carlton and Essendon must be spitting chips ;D.
It would be good to see a real-life version of it on a player in full kit before giving it the total thumbs up.
-
that jumper is a joke, the reverse strip was better, that jumper looks to messy and just not right.
our original strip is the best, but this modified version is poo

Each to their own X. To me those side panels look no different to those on this years pre-season jumper, so essentially we've kept our jumper in tact. What shorts would you wear with option number 2? White, yellow, black? All seem pretty ordinary with that option.
-

I would think that's perhaps it's not possibly at the moment seeing the new clash strip will have Reebok on it and they don't official start until October. I think they have to be fair to their current apparel sponsor

Fair enough too WP but the person at the club who told me said she had seen the accepted clash jumper so maybe the club got one made up for the selection process.
-
I think someone reminded the club about it :shh. OER with the scoop :thumbsup.
It was 4231 votes to 2172, with the winning design attracting 67% of the total voting from Richmond supporters.
The Club designed an alternative guernsey at the request of the AFL, to specifically avoid a clash in away matches against Essendon.

-
black number on white backing...interesting :shh
-
We should also use it in the pre season cup. I like the numbers.
-
We won't see the clash strip in the NAB Cup are those silver preseason jumpers are part of our Silver Top Taxis sponsorship.
As for Saturday night, I'm not against a clash strip but it was fairly easily to tell the teams apart in their traditional guernseys with our bright yellow standing out in the lights. Essendon should just wear red shorts home and white away and we always wear our blacks shorts with yellow sides.
-
The Age says the Essendon clash jumper has got the tick from the AFL so we'll be playing against this when it's our home game against the bombers:

Ho hum :sleep
-
Shame Rioli's retired now, he would have looked great in that. Very slimming. ;D
-
Ho hum :sleep
I think we can say that about all of them :sleep. An opportunity was there to exploit a new line merchandise with a good different design and every big Vic club baulked at it and the AFL have ended up with a farcial situation :sleep.
-

Just a reminder we'll get to see us run around in this little number in round 21 against the Bombers. The Dons wear their clash jumper against us in Round 9.
-
What do we all think about our clash jumper and would you like to see us use it again next year?
-
As I have said previously I say it looks great.
Perhaps we could wear yellow shorts with it instead of white.
Maybe we should wear it for every away game. We have a 100%
strike rate wearing it. :thumbsup
-

Personally I far preferred the PRE season strip with the claws and Tigerlogo
-
Seeing the Tiges win in it always helps but the class jumper looked better than I thought it would.
-
Are we wearing our "clash" strip this weekend or has that idea been scrapped?

Isn't it heritage round this weekend?
If so and we aren't wearing the clash strip what jumper are we wearing.

Nah it's rivalry round. What that means for Brisbane vs North who knows ???.

Brisbane Bears played North Melbourne in rd 1 1987 and the Brissie Lions played North in the other Prelim of 1999. :lol

Ah now there's proof of traditional rivals ;D. Tucky you can add Buckley rejecting both of them to play for the Pies lol.
The AFL obviously still hoping North end up on the Gold Coast lol.

Perhaps the AFL are regretting not merging Fitzroy and Northso to compensate they have scheduled them for rivalry round.
Honoring the career of Martin Pike? Mark Roberts? Paul Spargo?

I beleive we are wearing the clash strip this weekend
Certainly hasn't been scrapped - been selling very well at the den the clash strips

Cheers WP :cheers

John Blakey, Matthew Armstrong, ?
I remember Richmond being one of chief blockers of that merger. We didn't want to create a superteam in Melbourne and rightly so given North were reigning premiers at that time.
-
Undefeated in the clash strip. That's 3 from 3.
We should wear it every week from next season. :thumbsup

lol
And twice wearing it ended Essendon's flimsy finals hopes - the Sheedy/Hird farewell and today.
The guernsey itself looks good with the white shorts
