Backchatting an umpire for lack of frees just before 3/4 time according to Ch 10 :scream. It worked for him though in the last quarter.
-
Ch 10 were also saying the match review panel may look at Sarge for doing a "Barry Hall" to Brian Harris as well as Staff's arm when taking on a Bulldogs :P.

Seemed to get Pettifer all fired up. What's the penalty for something like that? A fine? Reprimand?
-
If he excepts an early plea , its 20 minutes of washing your mouth out with soap. ::)

It wouldn't be much normally. A reprimand at the most unless he called the ump a cheat. But in Petts case he already has points towards his next suspension from that ridiculous report against Freo. Another 50 points might push him over the 100 point mark = 1 week suspension.

Staff and Sarge escaped any charges. Petts was fined.

The AFL wishes to advise the Match Review Panel has assessed the following incidents from the weekend's round of matches.
Charges Laid:
Kayne Pettifer, Richmond, has been charged with a first offence for abusive language towards umpire Ray Chamberlain at the end of the third quarter (after the siren) of the Round 18 match between Richmond and Western Bulldogs, played at the MCG on Saturday August 5, 2006.
In summary, he can accept a $900 sanction with an early plea.
A first offence for abusive, insulting, threatening or obscene language towards an umpire is a $1200 sanction. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to a $900 sanction.
Other incidents assessed: No Charge Laid.
Contact between Richmond’s Jay Schulz and the Western Bulldogs’ Brian Harris from the second quarter of Saturday’s match at the MCG was reviewed. The Panel said the vision was inconclusive and therefore no action could be taken.

Good news and that's all it should've been.
