The AFL wishes to advise the Match Review Panel has assessed the following incidents from the weekend's round of matches.
Charges Laid:
Kayne Pettifer, Richmond, has been charged with a first offence for abusive language towards umpire Ray Chamberlain at the end of the third quarter (after the siren) of the Round 18 match between Richmond and Western Bulldogs, played at the MCG on Saturday August 5, 2006.
In summary, he can accept a $900 sanction with an early plea.
A first offence for abusive, insulting, threatening or obscene language towards an umpire is a $1200 sanction. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to a $900 sanction.
Other incidents assessed: No Charge Laid.
Contact between
Richmond’s Jay Schulz and the Western Bulldogs’ Brian Harris from the second quarter of Saturday’s match at the MCG was reviewed. The Panel said the vision was inconclusive and therefore no action could be taken.
