Title: How do we rate Kel Moore?
Post by: one-eyed on January 25, 2007, 04:13:52 AM
How do you guys and gals rate Kel Moore?

In the past he's been very injury-prone but so far so good this preseason. Is he part of our future back six?

Seems to of been round for a while - Wallace seems to have a lot of faith in him, be interesting to see how he goes bar injuries.
last chance this year - injury or not ....

not his last chance.
this kid has the skills, speed and height.
once he matures and his body is fully conditioned for afl, he will become one of teh best defenders in the afl. wallce knows this, thats why he kicked out chubba and will perservere with moore

He is rated very highly.

Reads the play very well and has that ability to drop off his opponent and go for the ball rather than always worrying about is direct player.

Hopefully his injury free pre-season can continue and he will be a very handy player.

No, I don't rate him either Jack. He's only there because of our lack of backs or he's well connected some how.

Hopefully on last contract. :thumbsup

Might add that guys like Will Thursfield would be well ahead of him,
Even JON

I worry about Kel because he seems so injury prone and wonder if that's a conditioning thing or just his body cannot handle the rigours of AFL

As I haven't been to training has he put on any muscle, increased his body size?

He's got the height but never seemed to have had the muscle and I've always wondered if that's the reason he's had so many injuries. He seems to cop a bump and get injured :-\

I don't rate him at all, I think this will be his last season...

If he has a relatively injury-free season, then I think he might finally show us "something".He has the raw ingredients, he just needs a good run with injury, and then greater confidence will follow.

Another injury-plagued season will see him out the door.

IMO Kelvin's a very good chance to be part of our back six as the third defensive tall.

Kellaway's dismissal opens up a real chance for him to really establish himself in the back half.
He turns 23 shortly and must be just about ripe to have a break out season.
The club & TW clearly rate him or he would have been delisted last season and AK retained.
*Importantly if he can hold down a defensive role it gives TW more flexibility on how he can use the Bowden Bros. :)

Like Schulz, Moore needs an injury free run before he can be fairly judged.
Hopefully he gets that in '07 because he's running out of lives.

I have a feeling he could well be this season's big surprise packet. 8)

Not saying Kel hasn't added any but not enough to be noticable and make you go wow like with Foley, Tambo and even Matty White.

Just as an aside, it'll be interesting to compare the current heights and weights of the young guys when they are published to last year's.

k moore has put on some size but thats not the be all and end all. silvagni was never huge but one of the greatest defenders ever.
the kid has not had as much chance as many are stating.  Geez, he is still young and as soon as his body matures watch out.
talk about injury prone, well i guess we should get rid of cogs too!
all those who say he has had too many chances, well what about tivendale, hall, hartigan ets etc

3 yrs ago most were calling for pettifers head, saying the same crap, that he has had too many chances bla bla bla.  at the same time, most were saying hyde had enough chances and nothing to offer

moore has height, pace , good skills and can play at both ends........look out he will be as good if not better than thursfield.  along with polak, they will become the best 3 tall defensive combo in the afl

Just noticed on our contract list Moore is contracted until 2008.

Not expecting too much from Will this year coming back from an ACL but fingers crossed for his and our sake he won't have any long-term detrimental effects from it in terms of acceleration, pace and turning.
