Definitely not match fit without playing in any preseason games.
-
Plough reckons Kingsley and Razor will be back in action by rounds 3 or 4.
We expect Simmo and Richo to be available the week before the season starts. We haven’t got a practice match scheduled that weekend, so the coaching staff have got to work out what to do with them then.

From the RFC site:
Richardson (hamstring) and Simmonds (ankle) are yet to prove themselves ready to start the premiership season.
The Tigers acknowledge both will be underdone if they play against the Blues, but are hopeful their natural athleticism will make up for a lack of match practice.
Richardson did not take part in skills work at training on Wednesday, while Simmonds continued his rehabilitation from a fractured ankle indoors.
"Richo's training form will dictate whether he plays in round one," Armstrong said.
"Simmo is pretty fit by nature and he's slightly ahead of schedule, so we're hopeful he can play round one.
"They will both be a bit underdone.
"Richo will have only missed three weeks so it might freshen him up.
"Simmo has had longer off with his ankle, but it won't take him too long to get up to full fitness."
Hall (hip) and Kingsley (ankle) will miss at least the first two games of the premiership season.

I have too laugh about Arma saying about it wont take long for Simmo to get fit., and he is fit by nature ::)
It took him 12 months to get him fit in 2005 for the 2006 season :lol
I am tipping he wont play Round 1 or 2

Tigers won't risk Richardson
15 March 2007 Herald-Sun
Michael Stevens
RICHMOND will not risk star forward Matthew Richardson in tomorrow's final practice match against Collingwood at Mildura.
But the Tigers are confident he will be fit for the opening round of the season proper against Carlton on April 1.
Richardson, sidelined with a hamstring strain since the NAB Cup loss to Geelong on February 25, was restricted to sprinting and light kicking drills as the Tigers went through their paces at Gosch's Paddock yesterday.
"We think it's pointless playing him now if there is any risk of him aggravating his injury," football manager Paul Armstrong said.
"Richo's been in the caper a long time and understands his body as well as anybody.
"His training form has been terrific and I'd be staggered if he didn't play Round 1."

wrong jack!!!
being a stregnth and conditioning coach myself and a personal trainer i know exactly what he means and you are dead wrong
simmo took 12 months to change his body shape and his style of fitness. at freo they baulked him up and didnt worry about his stamina and agility as he was used more as a kpp up fwd.
there are different forms of fitness and when he came to the tigers he was a fit strong and ripped mutha, just wasnt the right body structure to run all day. you cant reverse yrs of conditioning over night.
stop being a sour pussy and bagging everything at tigerland , even things u dont understand. sure u have worked at the club, do we blame u as partly a reason why we have been so crap, tell me . is it ur fault too...........everyone else who works there cops it from u but u never gave it to urself when u worked there. im starting to smell a rat, maybe there are other reasons why ur no longer there, not just the ones u explained.
sorry if that offends you, glad im not ur wife, u r so pessimistic , are u sure ur not suffering from depression?
-
Hey X. I have barracked for the tiges for 46 years, I am very depressed in whats happened to the club since probably save our skins days. All I will say, lets just leave it there. See what happens this year.
-
that may have been the case, but the 2007 version of jackstar does nont resemble 1% a tiger supporter. i have said it b4, its a free world, u dont have to be a tiger forever, u can easliy support another 1 of 15 clubs, my bet is u r already a bomber
-
Well X , you are wrong.
Already have a tiger membership as well as the kids.
I bleed yellow and black pal! The people who know me know this!
I am hoping the tiges have a great year and make the finals but being realistic ,I think it is beyond us.
Thats my opinion and I sticking too it.!

I am very sad to say X, I agree with you.
I love jack, but since he no longer works for the club he has become very negative/bitter towards the club. While working at the tigers he was a big wallet and miller fan, now all of a sudden, he reckons wallet is a fake, and miller hasnt done anything since he got carey to north.
Give it a rest jack, your posts are becoming far too predictable. You seem to relish the thought of all these injuries. FFS its march, you are starting to remind me of the darksiders like claw and diggler on pre.
-
I hope the tiges have a great year

Wallace: Richo fit for season opener
AAP
COACH Terry Wallace is adamant star forward Matthew Richardson will be fit to play in the opening round of the premiership season.
Speaking after the Tigers seven-point win over Collingwood in their NAB Challenge match in Red Cliifs near Mildura on Friday, Wallace said the fans' favourite would be ready to go against Carlton.
"I guarantee he's fine," he said.
"He will be absolutely right for round one - there's no problems there. We'll just have to balance our side as to who's in and who's out after a good effort today."

If we get to R11 with 5 wins its been a fair effort, but some are suggesting 3-8 or 2-9 by round 11 and that'll be it for the season and most on here will be drawing up draft lists again by the half way mark of the season.

That's what we both said Ramps this time last year lol ;).
With still a young side so we'll probably be up and down again like a yo-yo.

Richo was back today training with the main squad :thumbsup.
Simmo was in the rehab group doing some running and kick to kick (wearing footy boots).

Simmonds fit and raring to go
by: Paul Gough
Sportal
March 22, 2007
Richmond ruckman Troy Simmonds says he is on track to make a successful comeback from his broken ankle in a huge boost to the Tigers' prospects in season 2007.
Simmonds was one of the dominant big men in the AFL last year and finished third in the Tigers' best and fairest in what was his best season since debuting for Melbourne way back in 1999.
But he has been unsighted throughout the pre-season after fracturing his right ankle in mid-January, raising doubts about his ability to re-capture last year's form.
However Simmonds, speaking exclusively to Sportal, said his recovery was on track and he was a chance to even be available for the Tigers' season opener against Carlton on April 1.
"It's coming along well," he said.
"I am running well so hopefully I get a solid week of training this week and next week and we come up for round one."
Simmonds said even if he misses out on round one, it won't be long before he is back in action and he is confident there will be no lasting affects from the injury.
"I did this six years ago (at Melbourne), the same sort of injury and it didn’t affect me jumping wise then once I had strengthened it up."
Simmonds says it took him 10-12 weeks to regain full fitness the last time he injured his ankle and it will be ten weeks since he suffered the injury by the time the Tigers face the Blues in round one.
"You can't overdo (the rehab) and get too keen (to come back) but I am feeling good now and I am running well," he said.
"I have been doing my marking and jumping and been doing a lot of work in the gym also to strengthen the ankle."
But Simmonds admits he will go into the season lacking match practice.
"I have been doing a lot of touch work and a lot of kicking out on the ground but there is nothing like match practice is there," he said.
A fit Simmonds is vital to the Tigers' hopes of a finals appearance this year, after last year's rise to ninth place, after he overcome his tough first year at Punt Road in 2005 to amass 386 hit-outs, 344 disposals and 25 goals last season.
The 28-year-old said the chance to finally play in the ruck full-time last year - after spending his first year at Richmond and much of his time at Melbourne and Fremantle playing as a key forward - was the key to his best ever season.
"Playing in the ruck, the confidence came back and I was really enjoying my footy," he said.
"I enjoy that ease of just running around the ground (as a ruckman) and using my strength and mobility and my running capacity."
Simmonds admitted the pressure on him also eased last year, after much debate as to whether he should have been given a five year contract when he first joined the Tigers in 2005.
"The first year I did feel a bit of pressure but I expected that but I am loving being back in Melbourne (after spending 2002-2004 playing for Fremantle)," he said.
But while he has now established himself as one of the AFL's best ruckman, Simmonds is looking forward to some added support this year after virtually carrying the Tigers ruck stocks single-handedly last year.
"Certainly this year hopefully Trent (Knobel) can have a good year because he is back fit (after missing most of last year with leg injuries) while Adam Pattison and our young rookie Angus Graham are coming along really well."
"It will certainly help me to have that support because it's not good for the body when you are rucking all day."

Raring to go: Richmond forward Matthew Richardson in action yesterday.
Richardson ready for Carlton
24 March 2007 Herald-Sun
Michael Stevens
STAR Richmond forward Matthew Richardson showed he was on track to play the season opener against Carlton with a strong training performance at Gosch's Paddock yesterday.
"He trained the house down, he was terrific to be honest," coach Terry Wallace said.
"I was really pleased. We did some match-practice work in training although it was a fairly average day to be doing it.
"But he worked really well . . . kicked a bagful (of goals) . . . and did everything over and above what we would have expected."
Richardson has been sidelined since straining a hamstring in the opening NAB Cup game against Geelong.
Wallace said ruckman Simmonds, third in the club's best-and-fairest last season who has been battling an ankle injury, was only a 50-50 chance of completing the Tigers' main training session on Wednesday.
"That would make him less likely than more likely to play (against Carlton)," he said. "And (fellow ruckman) Trent Knobel will train on Wednesday and it's obviously how he gets through that whether he plays or not."
The Tigers are likely to elevate at least one rookie to replace the injured Mark Coughlan.
A decision on Angus Graham, Cameron Howat or Jake King will not be made until early next week.

he will miss rnd 1, so he wasnt far off , thus is just about fit
he just isnt match fit, there is a difference, u off alll should know that, so terry is deciding whether or not to play him in coburg after rnd one to gain MATCH FITNESS
if he was not FIT he would not be even playing for coburg
