Definitely not match fit without playing in any preseason games.

Simmo and Richo back a week before round 1 - Wallace

Plough reckons Kingsley and Razor will be back in action by rounds 3 or 4.

We expect Simmo and Richo to be available the week before the season starts. We haven’t got a practice match scheduled that weekend, so the coaching staff have got to work out what to do with them then.

From the RFC site:

Richardson (hamstring) and Simmonds (ankle) are yet to prove themselves ready to start the premiership season.

The Tigers acknowledge both will be underdone if they play against the Blues, but are hopeful their natural athleticism will make up for a lack of match practice.

Richardson did not take part in skills work at training on Wednesday, while Simmonds continued his rehabilitation from a fractured ankle indoors.

"Richo's training form will dictate whether he plays in round one," Armstrong said.

"Simmo is pretty fit by nature and he's slightly ahead of schedule, so we're hopeful he can play round one.

"They will both be a bit underdone.

"Richo will have only missed three weeks so it might freshen him up.

"Simmo has had longer off with his ankle, but it won't take him too long to get up to full fitness."

Hall (hip) and Kingsley (ankle) will miss at least the first two games of the premiership season.

I have too laugh about Arma saying about it wont take long for Simmo to get fit., and he is fit by nature ::)
It took him 12 months to get him fit in 2005 for the 2006 season :lol
I am tipping he wont play Round 1 or 2

Tigers won't risk Richo (Herald-Sun)

Tigers won't risk Richardson
15 March 2007   Herald-Sun
Michael Stevens

RICHMOND will not risk star forward Matthew Richardson in tomorrow's final practice match against Collingwood at Mildura.

But the Tigers are confident he will be fit for the opening round of the season proper against Carlton on April 1.

Richardson, sidelined with a hamstring strain since the NAB Cup loss to Geelong on February 25, was restricted to sprinting and light kicking drills as the Tigers went through their paces at Gosch's Paddock yesterday.

"We think it's pointless playing him now if there is any risk of him aggravating his injury," football manager Paul Armstrong said.

"Richo's been in the caper a long time and understands his body as well as anybody.

"His training form has been terrific and I'd be staggered if he didn't play Round 1."

wrong jack!!!
being a stregnth and conditioning coach myself and a personal trainer i know exactly what he means and you are dead wrong
simmo took 12 months to change his body shape and his style of fitness. at freo they baulked him up and didnt worry about his stamina and agility as he was used more as a kpp up fwd.
there are different forms of fitness and when he came to the tigers he was a fit strong and ripped mutha, just wasnt the right body structure to run all day. you cant reverse yrs of conditioning over night.
stop being a sour pussy and bagging everything at tigerland , even things u dont understand. sure u have worked at the club, do we blame u as partly a reason why we have been so crap, tell me . is it ur fault too...........everyone else who works there cops it from u but u never gave it to urself when u worked there. im starting to smell a rat, maybe there are other reasons why ur no longer there, not just the ones u explained.

sorry if that offends you, glad im not ur wife, u r so pessimistic , are u sure ur not suffering from depression?

that may have been the case, but the 2007 version of jackstar does nont resemble 1% a tiger supporter. i have said it b4, its a free world, u dont have to be a tiger forever, u can easliy support another 1 of 15 clubs, my bet is u r already a bomber

I am very sad to say X, I agree with you.

I love jack, but since he no longer works for the club he has become very negative/bitter towards the club. While working at the tigers he was a big wallet and miller fan, now all of a sudden, he reckons wallet is a fake, and miller hasnt done anything since he got carey to north.

Give it a rest jack, your posts are becoming far too predictable. You seem to relish the thought of all these injuries. FFS its march, you are starting to remind me of the darksiders like claw and diggler on pre.
