When do people think Simmo will be ready by in the worst case scenario?
BTW, didn't Thirsty play in the praccy match against Collingwood or am I thinking of someone else ???

Miller said this morning that Simmo could be playing a half for Coburg this week.
Browny is at least another week away at best (didn't sound too confident) while Thursty is 2 weeks away.

Why are these lists, for RFC, almost always incomplete? eg Brown not listed this time. Surely it's not that hard to list all players that are injured. Is it someone at the club that keeps stuffing up, or is it the fault of the person compiling the list?

And Connors as well. Hasn't trained or played for 2 weeks. It must be the club's fault as they aren't listed on the RFC site either.

Richmond to face ruck shortage
April 3, 2007 - 4:10PM
Richmond will again face a ruck shortage in their AFL clash with last year's grand finalist Sydney on Saturday at the MCG.
Richmond coach Terry Wallace said number one ruckman Troy Simmonds is out for at least another week while back-up Trent Knobel is sidelined indefinitely with an ankle injury.
Both were absent from Richmond's seasoning opening 17-point loss to Carlton last weekend and were badly missed.
Wallace said Knobel's ankle injury was a mystery and he was likely to have more tests this week to determine the problem.
"We've just got to have a real look at him over the next few days and find out exactly what is going on with his ankle ailment," Wallace said on Tuesday.
"He played reserve grade level at the weekend and pulled up sore again.
"I don't think he'll play anywhere on the weekend and we'll have to do some further investigation to see whether it's a long term issue."
But in better news for the Tigers defender Chris Newman said he had pulled up well after his first AFL match since breaking his leg badly last season.

have a feeling knobs will be on the long term injury list asap and gus will get elevated, whether he is ready or not, he did real well v the swans in that praccy game
-
I can't see Knobel surviving this year. Too injury prone so he's not much use as a back-up ruckman and he's not going to be part of our future anyway. Ironically ex-Coburg boy Rix is rucking for the Saints.
Good to hear Newy got through the game okay. Fingers crossed there.

irony yes, but rix wont be any good, gus will be better value tan rix
he may be an inclusion , he played well a few weeks back in canberra

In the long run probably yes but right now Graham needs time to develop. He struggled against Jeff White in the practice game against the Dees. In hindsight we should have got Rix (or rookied him) instead of using our PSD pick on Knobel. We need our back-up ruckman now but he's injured again :-\.
-
yeah ..
put Knoble on the Long-Term Injury List and get Angus to play ...
what have we got to lose ???
we are out of ruckman !
-
I thought Matthew White was on that list too...

I thought Matthew White was on that list too...
I think Matty played for Coburg on the weekend DC. Cogs and Petersen are the two on the long-term injury list.

Did anyone else hear Nathan Brown on the radio over the weekend? I think it was on Friday night and he was asked about Cogs hurting his knee in the shower.
I didnt hear it but from what i have been told he didnt know nothing about it and then when someone said that's what the club said happened, he went all quiet.
As i said i only have this second hand.
Did anyone else hear it?

Didn't hear it but Browny must have been living on Mars if he didn't know Cogs and the Club had said he slipped in the shower ???.

Richmond's injury list formula
If a player is listed as out for 6-8 weeks then they'll be playing on the weekend;
If a player is listed as test or 1 week then you won't see them for 2 months

Or is that 2 (weeks) :rollin
-
I remember once Staff was going to be available in 1 weeks - which last about 5 weeks ???
-
Collins pulled up sore during the ressies game and didn't play the last quarter :-\. He only had just come back from a groin problem.
-
Does anyone know the state of Newy's rib injury? Hopefully it's only a corky and nothing is broken :-\.
Whitey too?
Apparently Tivs dropped out today due to "family reasons". Not sure if the black armbands were for that or that a cousin of Cambo died in the Kerang train crash :(.
-
Whitey has concussion according to Plough. So he should be okay with 2 weeks until we play Melbourne. No further mention of how bad Newy's injured ribs are.
-
Very very sore are the ribs ;)
Will know more today :thumbsup

Re White - in the 5-10 mins before he got hurt he put his body on the line more than I've ever seen him do before. Well done Matt, keep that up.

Wez on y&b asked Terry yesterday - punctured lung, but should be right for Melb.

So why didn't simmo have a run on the weekend. ???
Jeff White is going to have a field day - Lucky he is in my Dreamteam at least :scream
-
No mention of Polo and his shoulder nor Collins and his groin problem :(. A question mark over Connors too.
Simmo should play VFL this week otherwise we are just plain tanking having two totally underdone blokes in the one team on Friday night.
-
Craig McRae in EOTT said Connors should be right to go this week. Tas also injured his ankle early on last weekend but his hoping too he'll be right.

MT or WP, do you reckon he will be ready for a full preseason at years end?
Cogs' been doing some straight line running. I was told about a month a go that the knee is fine and stable this time around. Given he redid his knee in January he should be ready to go by the start of preseason training in November.

Trent Knobel has changed his name to 2 weeks by deed poll.

Razor was interviewed prior to game yesterday. He's had the op on his troublesome hip but can't do any training except some upper body weights as most body movements affect the hip. By his tone you'd say he's resigned to the fact he's gone.

I asked today about Sugar. The trainer said he has "general soreness" which is why he doesn't train much. I then said there was talk around that he had OP. The trainer said he has a slight mild case of it but nothing that won't stop him playing every game for the remainder of the year. So Sugar will reach his 200th which is the Sheeds-Hird blockbuster jammy-jam game.
-
Young forward Jack Riewoldt also withdrew before the game because of a tight calf muscle, while young ruckman Angus Graham injured his ankle during the game.
"We'll just have to see how it progresses and comes up," Wallace said of Graham.

At least they got all the injuries right. e.g. Gus and Meyer.
Although Meyer is still Test, while the other says season. :-\
I'd expect Danny to be back this week or next at the latest unless the knee was worse than classified.
-
I was told at training last week that Meyer was still on crutches.
Knobel played for Coburg ressies going by the VFL site so not sure why he's listed as test ???.
