I hate this dog more than any other journalist in the country.

I had to ring up Seven once to get some info on him for some work i was doing.
It was the day after he made one of his momentous stuff ups and he was in big trouble
Got put thru to their sports department and he answered the phone
So i thought i may as well ask him the questions straight to him.
Never met a more paranoid man - why do you want to know, who are you, what's my info to you
I explained what i was doing - which i won't here - and he relaxed a bit.
But he came over to me as a scared little rabbit lol
I don't like him much - or not dislike, cos i don't know him - more like i don't think much about his work because i think he''s trying too hard to get big stories that aren't there - and he seems to stuff up quite a bit. I think he's said some quite libellous stuff not once, but a few times.
If i was Seven I'd give him the old heave-ho!

You could say that about Channel 7 in general. They are really struggling to find their place in the tv world of Melbourne since they lost the footy. Seven seems to desperately try to crack the big breaking story even if it's not there so they can say they're still a footy channel.

When's the next TV rights deal up for grabs? What will it mean for the clubs? Should be quite a lucrative battle between 9 & 7 which the AFL and, hopefully, the clubs will benefit from.

The TV rights deal is up around the end of 2006 I think. The problem for Channel 7 money wise is that they are competing against the combined efforts of 9, 10 and FOX although I think they still have that clause (forgotten what it's called) which gives them still a chance.
I would suspect Kerry Packer would want finals for channel 9 in the new deal. Bet he's not happy 9 is losing out every September.
It's going to be interesting to see what that means for the ten Vic clubs. Hope we are in better shape on and off field by then.

7 have the last reply in the negoitations, so they can outbid fox,9,10, it cost them heaps to have it written in a contract.

If 7 really want the footy back badly this could drive the bid price up substancially again. I can't see the 9/10/FOX giving up the footy without a fight.

think the 7 network will bid very hard to obtain them possibly get into bed with another network.
if it means not having to put up with that a..hole maguire pushing collingwoods barrow all time hopefully they might pull it off.

I couldnt agree more Tigers80. Is it just me but I continually come across people who have had an absolute gutful of Eddie Everywhere.I would happily put up with Hutchison knowing that I wouldnt have to switch on to Eddie calling a Cwood game and plugging his beloved bunch of tossers on the Footy Show.It fair dinkum makes me sick.
Give me Tim Lane calling anyday.Glad he had the balls to stick it to Nine.

About 1.5 years ago I was playing indoor soccer at Oakleigh and we played against Hutchy and his team *must add that he is a fairly tall and large man as opposed to the little runt that he is perceived on TV/Radio*. Anyway, I was doing my proverbial antics on the court and milked the odd-free kick, and I played it up a bit, to which he turned around bumped me and goes get up Richo you softy....*it was about the time Richo was complaining to the umpires about frees*
So I thought His time will come.......I tried my best to clean him up, but a yellow card and some help from his mates kinda put an end to that.....
