Any news on Tambling / McMahon?

Any news on Tambling / McMahon?
Tambling didn't play at all this week due to his hammy.
Jordie wasn't mentioned in WP's bests during the game so I'm not sure.
-
I read elsewhere that Cogs had 40 touches.
hem must have absolutely dominated to get those numbers. Is that correct?

Well we can only hope.

A detailed match report on Y&B. Cogs wasn't in R8's best though.

Ta cyclops. If indeed he did get 40 possessions perhaps he should have been..
-
My greatest concern with Cogs comeback is exactly what R8 pointed out - his pace. No matter how good he is at ground level and in the packs, if he can not run with or away from his direct opponent he will become a liability.
Great to hear Thomson, Post and Patto played well. I expect we will see Thomson in the side very soon.

Bartel & Mitchell aren't much quicker.
Cogs is as hard as nails and knows how to find it in a pack where pace matters little.

tambling didn't play
McMahon played that's about it really ;D Didn't do much
Best game I've seen JON play, his tackleing and 2nd & 3rd efforts were fantastic

How did Browne go WP and do you know if Cogs played a full game? Last week Rawlings said he played 60% gametime.

With mid-field rotations he isn't going to play 100% of the game but I'd say he played around the 75-80% mark this week. I thought he got better as the game went on. His hands are great and his kicking seems to have more penetration these days... I thought he was better last week than today but he is moving very well compared to where he was at the end of last season
Browne & Patto rotated in the ruck. I liked Browne's game as he taps to advantage well, rather than just straight down at everyone's feet. Probably a better way to put it is he works hard at getting it to advantage rather than taking the easier option of hitting it straight down. He is clearly a very good thinker and reader of the game in that he instinctively drops back in the whole in the back half and he does it quickly. He didn't get alot of it around the ground but I couldn't fault his 2nd or 3rd efforts (clearly a message has got through at richmond). I think he is a long term player for us

Cheers WP :cheers. I know the club thinks Browne is a long term player for us too :thumbsup. Good news about Cogs :pray.

Interesting comments about JON.
I honestly believe it was the best game I've seen JON play.
I reckon his disposal effeiciency was high. Did he turn the ball over? Yeah he did. Did he drop his head when he did? No he didn't and to me that was a key to his game today - 2nd & 3rd efforts. He actually kicked it into the man twice and both times he back up with a 2nd effort and in once case won the ball back and gave of a really slick h/ball to advantage that resulted in a goal and the other time he tackled well enough to ensure a ball up. he played as a lead up forward across HF and did it well. The delivery at times to him was terrible (suggest he has a coffee with Richo during the week to discuss how one cipes with it ;D). He giving it off more by hand to today and he did it really well.
Hughes was the interesting one. When Cleve is "switched on" then he does everything well including the defensive stuff, when he isn't he just looks disinterested....
-
Good reports WP, thanks mate. I don't really ever think that Hughes will make now and thats a shame, I thought he would turn into a really good forward but it hasn't happened.

I should have finished that by sayng I thought his 2nd half was alot better than his first

So WP would you think Cogs could come back in to the team next week??

So WP would you think Cogs could come back in to the team next week??
Seeing he missed a fair chunk of the pre-season, I'd be surprised if he came in next week, especially at Etihad which is such a fast ground. Personally, I wouldn't play him I think he needs at least another week to get some more fitness.
But I'll be honest and i've said this before last year I doubted if he'd play again, now I am confident enough to say he will play again

Cheers WP... ;)

Ta for the feedback WillyP. :)
If Cogs won 40 touches(?) he's a no brainer to come back surely. Even if utilised off the bench.
Hughes is weak as pee so forget him, could Post debut?

Not based on his last 2 games, doens't seem ready at the moment, you'd be throwing him to the wolves. His disposal by foot is the concern at times but he's certainly is great mark (contested especially)

Did you see yong Rhett Jordon on Sunday?
-
And is Jacob Hislop having a run-around yet?
-
Did Will Play? How did he go?
-
Did you see yong Rhett Jordon on Sunday?
Yes 1965, going by the team list I was given at the gate (still staggered I had to pay to get in) he was wearing number 36.
And is Jacob Hislop having a run-around yet?
Didn't play seniors - perhaps played in the ressies - not sure I wasn't there for that game
Did Will Play? How did he go?
yes Will played. I posted somewhere else I don't think he did enough for a senior recall. Actually I hardly noticed him. Personally, I thought he lacked intensity and didn't try to stamp his authority across the backline unlike Silvestor

Snippet's from Rawlings' report in EOTT
Cogs - 40 possies, 5 clearances, 7 inside 50s, 11 tackles
Post - 21 possies, 4 inside 50s
Thomson - 18 possies, 6 clearances, 2 goals
Patto - 15 hitouts, 7 tackles
Rawlings gave JON and Silvester praise for their 4-quarter efforts.
