Title: I'm over it! Lets stick together
Post by: Go Richo 12 on April 20, 2009, 09:03:13 PM
I'm over all this! Its enough of the told you so crap!I am disgusted that some people seem to be revelling in the failure of our team to win a game so far just because they hate Terry Wallace! I joined this site as i like to seek solace/ revel with fellowTiger supporters. Instead the topics are just a slanging match that success would probably not stop! Why can't we stick together and get behind our club when they need us most?

Yep, your right, Terry Wallace is a fantastic coach and deserves another 5 years contract. Instead of the $600,000 a year, he should get $750,000 for the next 5 years, Also give his side kicks Royal and King another 5 years also. ::)
Play Jordy each week as well. :banghead :banghead.
mate, I dislike Terry Wallace why ? As I can see through him, he has ruined OUR football club. With the Gold Coast getting priority picks soon, we will never climb the ladder unless hard decisions are made NOW,

The above is example no.1, i expect no.2 soon! I never suggested an extension of contract, just some loyalty.

I agree.  I was looking at Bigfooty this arvo and some bloke put conditions on his support for the club.  "Like, if you don't do what I want I'm not going to any more games"  ::)  Well, as far as I'm concerned, don't go, the club needs people who support them unconditionally.  Voice your concerns, get mad, get angry, but do it in a way that's beneficial to the club, not harming it.
I've been on message boards for about 10 years now and some of the crap is unbelievable  :banghead

Struth give it a rest Jack ... do you have to hi-jack every bloody thread with your tirades against the RFC? Because whether you realise it or even want to acknowledge it your constant moaning, sooking and on going bagging of TWallace is a kick in the guts to the RFC ... Seriously.

Anywhere in GR12's initial post was there a mention of a contract extension, that TW was a great coach?

There was none but you had to again turn it in to TW bag feast because you cannot help yourself....

Whatever.....

I'm over all this! Its enough of the told you so crap!I am disgusted that some people seem to be revelling in the failure of our team to win a game so far just because they hate Terry Wallace! I'm with ya... my support of this club has always been and will continue to be unconditional

And I reckon sadly if we were to have success people would still not be happy.

What I find staggering is there are people who want us to fail this season because it means Wallace goes. Their greatest fear I have no doubt was/is us making finals ... heaven forbid if that happened and Wallace stays.

Now they are actually getting what they want, losses and they still are not happy

Which makes one ask what the hell do they want exactly :-\

I am coming back to Australia in a couple of weeks time :thumbsup and will be there supporting the Tigers through thick and thin .... unconditionally!!! I have been away for several years and paid my membership (player sponsor) each year even though I couldn't go to a single game!! ;D
The club selected TW, gave him and his support coaches the responsibility to succeed, they now need to stand by that decision.
I listened to Mick Malthouse on Sunday (Australian Channel) and he made a lot of sense  .... maybe someone with his experience, knowledge and ability to get the very best out of people is exactly what we need. :pray
You know the more I think of it the more I reflect on a comment one of my sons mates made (he is a current Tiger player and absolutely committed to making the Tigers a success), "I wasn't approached by anyone from Richmond for 3 years playing juniors, it was only when the draft was on that they approached me and the thing they focused on was my results at the draft camp. I do not believe they had seen me play apart from the promotional video that was prepared by my manager!!" ??? ???
We have to improve our knowledge of the capabilities of all prospective players, we simply appear to not do enough homework off season.

I think they're relevant points.
The bit about the promotional video sounds true.  I remember seeing the Krakouer tape when I was friends with one of the directors, and I reckon that's all they saw of him.  I don't think we've had the recruiting resources like other clubs and we've been miles behind as a result.
Sponsored a player myself.
good on you for your support even though you don't go and see games  :thumbsup

sick of this 'joke' too.

4 matches in and our season is over??? for some people???

supporters, the media, the rumors ...

Terry stays untill the end, he leave mid-season, etc etc ...

does not help Richmond and Terry at all ...

i personally think, this pressure and talk and this and that is hurting Richmond.

i've been to three matches, all but the Geelong match to which we played 'ok'.

so i've seen the worst of us so far.

and to me, the body language of the players is low, and confidence is very low.

i kept thinking '04 and '07 during the Melbourne match.

and personally, it really hurts, i love Richmond too much.

i get really 'cut-up' at people i know, who don't know AFL or anything, and say 'Richmond are s***t'

the stero-type Richmond. we probably deserve that, and i can see why, but hearing our own Yellow and Black supporters saying what they say, is very disappointing.

look ...

i predicted Richmond to only win 8 matches in '09, in fact 13th.

Melbourne's loss to me was more the players confidence.

that match we had penciled in a 'win'. and it didn't happen.

honestly, do we really know if its Terry or The Players???

i will admit that, our game plan does not suit us and our forward line is a massive problem!

thats Terry's fault.

however, The Players are out there for under 120 minutes in the match!

and i see 'no-heart'.

know ... my turn to have a b*tch!!! about the players, and where i think they are at!!!

Nathan Brown - ever since that broken leg, its be a bad story, not his fault, a talented player, however, over paid, and needs to be shown the door. Nathan, you are set for life (we think) with your 'BlackBryd', focus on that and give football up. or at least tell Terry, to open the forward line and crum, crum, crum, crum, crum the football. not try to hit you on the chest at 180 cm on a 185 cm defender! our skills aren't good remember!!!

Troy Simmonds - getting slow.

Matthew Richardson - DO NOT STOP! DO NOT QUIT! KEEP PLAYING. who cares if he is 34. yes, he is our best player at '34' and it is shocking, but no need to retire him, is there???

Kane Johnson - a lot of supporters 'hate', this knee injury might finish him!

Ben Cousins - we just got him!

Joel Bowden - play him back, and leave him there.

now ...

Shane Tuck - fantastic in '05 and second half of '08. why? because he would get the football and kick long! now, he has stopped. game plan or not, he just gets the football in contested situations, and goes to ground! YES, we need a tough player to get it out, but after that, he is an liability! i can't remember when he has brust through a pack, run through the lines. Tuck for me, should be gone! he is wasting space. sorry Tuck, prove me wrong!

Jordan McMahon - why? why? why? why? skills? his run? what about his chasing players, tackling, sheparding??? nothing, no one percenters??? the girl at Richmond. Delist! or give him to Gold Coast! sorry Jordan!

Daniel Jackson - still young, but where is his best position??? Tagging??? you have end of '09 to prove us wrong ...

in fact everyone, has the end of '09 to prove us wrong!!!

Mitch Morton - can you please chase harder! tackle at least!

Jack Riewoldt - stay deeper in the forward line and work on your kicking!

Jay Schulz - you have been a disappointment!

Richard Tambling - stop crying over the '04 draft! Richard, that Brisbane match last year! bring that form back!

Chris Newman - you go quiet in matches we need you the most. on sunday you looked like you didn't want to be on the ground. you are better then that!

Tom Hislop - you are joking me Richmond, you drafted him. can't kick, can't mark, seriously. sorry Tom.

i could go through the whole list ...

i don't want to go to matches knowing we aren't going to win, because we are 'worried about Terry staying or going'

its up to you players! bloo*y believe, believe in yourself!

finals in not out of the question!!!

13/9 will make it ...

5 more losses and its over!!!

try try try try try try, believe, believe, believe.

and Terry ... do you really want it to end it as a 'joke'???

because it is heading towards that ... and that, is the problem with Richmond.

Terry probably is the problem, like i said before, but do you really think he is doing this to Richmond to p*ss Richmond people off???

the Players are a disgrace if they say 'we don't want to play under Terry'.

120 minutes, 120 minutes, 120 minutes!!! on match day - do the players come together and say, "lets get Terry sacked???"

Brett Deledio - you know what people, he is not what you think he is! does he chase? have you seen him chase a player with his pace? have you seen him tackle? have you seen him do any one percenters??? do you see him talking on the ground???

what i see is him getting easy touches and looking 'flashy' around the ground. he can kick, he can mark, he has pace. what is his problem??? Brett, you aren't a Star! you have the power of Richmond's future in your hands!

the way Brett Deledio plays, is how Richmond play!

Brett, you play with 'passion' and Richmond will play with 'passion'

you take the match on, Richmond will take the match on!!!

80+ matches Brett, and now Richmond are back to how you entered it!

its not your fault, but you have 'the power and talent' to singly guide Richmond to success! (as well as many other players)

:)

Trent Cotchin ... is our midfield in years to come!

Yeh I am not the biggest fan of his chipping sideways possession harvesting crap, but I thought last weekend he actually went forward with his possessions.  As long as he plays like last weekend, I reckon kick out McMahon and leave Bowden in the back line.

The point here is is that we are having too many possies in the back half of the ground,  while the opposition has ample time to push back to man up thier own 50 metre defence even getting thier forwards back to block our forwards 2 on 1. Thats the coaches fault for letting it happen if l was coaching all them type of players would be out playing for clubs they came from. And not laying all the blame on the coaches the players should know better than to do that & push opposition teams back, its so dumb what they do even kids games are more balanced these days

Watch the game better  ;D you can see how teams are getting 2 back on Richo all the time because our going forward is so slow you could go to the bar get a drink & miss no action cause Richmond are so predictable they aint changed in years

Melbourne didn't give him an opponent for a reason you know, he's not damaging with his disposals. Just like that Port Adelaide match last year when he had a simiar game, Williams didn't play anyone on him either. We won that one and his fans thought he was brilliant, but he was still the one holding up the game and getting Port back into the game. We lost against Melbourne, so clearly a standout game like that meant sweet FA in the scheme of things. Loose man in defence is the only position Bowden can effectively play, because it suits his unaccountable, selfish game, that's why he's crap everywhere else and Wallace has to resort to playing him back again to let him get a bloody touch. I'm sorry, but he's 30 and not part of our next generation of success and he has nothing to teach the kids, get him out of the side.

Bowden was good IMO on Sunday he was going straight and long at times and most to good effect. Not the biggest wrap for Joel but he was OK Sunday.
McMahon on the other hand was doing 'only just' 10 metre passes to players under pressure.
He is pitiful.
I have said on Bowden I think it is time to move on but if he remains should stay down back or nowhere.
Players in their best possies atm and when JB is going OK it is down back.

agreed Joel plays down back best cause he has control. But kicking it short will never win games of football in this era. The pace of the game & fitness of the players enable them to get back much quicker, (example) flooding much easier. We need to move the ball long & quickly to forwards like Richo & Shulzs & save them energy instead of having them leading & then not being honored them fast leads, having to do several more fatigues them quickly in todays game. Its the coach who is giving the players instructions to chip it around otherwise it would have been out of the gameplan after Frawley left. We turn the ball over in our backline because of overuse of the football & allowing oposition to get back giving our forwards limited room to lead pushing them deep into pockets requiring them to use another possie to set up goal or take a harder shot on goal
stuff if l can see that & l have coached most levels of football, then why cant players follow simple instructions & why cant the coach & coaching staff instruct a differnet gameplan & change the pattern. l can sit there & watch Richmond & predict their moves so easy its the same each week. If l was coaching against them l would have more time to spend with my family cause they are so predictable. Grant Thomas even mentioned this once,  His aying it because Richmond need to take note of what people around them are saying but its not happening as l said you cant coach that type of football in todays game we get flogged every week till someone down there realizes slow football in a fast game is doomed.
l'm a huge Bowden fan as everyone here knows, but Joel should know this himself & needs to move the ball longer & quicker overwise he may well pack his bags & go play elsewhere outside AFL. Also this slow pace does not suit players who have arrived at the club & will damage them. Cousins & Cotchin will drop off because they will be moving the ball too quickly & again is why we are failing cause we are used to slow football, Its the reason our players look rushed & make simple mistakes cause they train that way & when they get out in the game the pace is faster than they are used too. It dont take much to really work it out. Any level coach or hard supporter can see it plain as day. Thats why our assistant coaches need to go.

Decent post TM, I agree with a fair part of it.

The players and coaches can turn all this crap around very quickly by changing 1 basic thing - attack, don't defend - and here's the context I mean that in:

The one thing that is glaringly obvious to me is that our first, instinctive reaction both as an individual and as a team, is to stop, look up, assess and then react with caution.  It doesn't matter if we have possession or the opposition do, every single action on field is based around this response.  While this might sound good when read from the coaches manual it has only one possible outcome - reduce the pressure on the opposition and increase it on yourselves.  Just by reversing this single action we would be fundamentally improving the performance, spectacle and result of each match.  When they have the ball, run at them, harass them, never ever zone off, reduce their available reaction time.  And when we have the ball the exact same thing applies - run at them, take them on, take away their time to regroup, kick forward before they have time to zone, keep them moving backwards all the time.

Give the team a safety net so they apply this with confidence - excuse every single attacking mistake, condemn every single defensive one.  Give the team 100% support in every attacking attempt they make, succeed or fail.  Simplify the game plan to this one basic tenet and then implement a few plays around it.  Let the match evolve around the instincts of the players rather than the robotics of the 'book'.

Everyone might just be amazed at how quickly this dysfunctional list of 'recruiting blunders' and coaching 'dead men' could turn their collective season and fortunes around by simplifying.  We all know the KISS principal - there has never been a more appropriate time in our recent history to apply it on field.

until wayne campbell coaches , no one knows what he is like

no one can say he useless as a coach coach you dont know

we should trade deledio

So he can go and coach another club until we find out. If he's good enough, which he is not.

We'll see how loyal he is if he makes it.

Still waiting for your brother to call Eade and tell us what he thinks of Campbell.

My pennies worth guys. :gotigers

I'm don't think you should pay too much heed to what this player says. After all he wouldn't know if Francis or one of his underlings was in the crowd watching a game. From the draft preview nights I've been to believe me, each player is extremely well researched and thouroughly looked at.

Good topic and post Go Richo12!

I'm with you too GR12! They reckon women are bitchy! Some men on this sight would give them a run for their money, such nasty bitchy revelling in failure just to say I told you so >:(  Rumours and winking and innuendo with absolutely no back up except , I heard from a friend of my brother who played with someone once.( I think thats called gossip) If even 20% of past rumours and hot tips and watch out its going to happens came true, there would be some credibility with these people, but most of their bullshyte is just that...
If Wallace does get the heaveho, dont believe the I told you so's, they know no more than us even though they like to believe they do  ;) ;) ;)

I don't know anyone, never sat in the coaches box, don't wanna say I told you so. I just want someone who can lead our club well and TW is not the man.

Hopefully they are discussing his sacking right now.

Malthouse has clearly stated that he will not coach at a club that has sacked its coach! Let  go or sacked it adds up to the same thing! My mail is that TW will see out the season as that is what everyone in charge at Richmond has said and at the end of the day, they really are the only ones in the know!

Crawl back under your rock Jack, today just goes to show how wrong "Your mail" is.  No way this can happen after comming out today and saying what they have said all along.

God I hope we win some games in the next few weeks, I love to see it but more so because it might shut you and daniel up for a while.

That could mean anything, it could have been 6-1
I wouldn't imagine Tony Free would vote in favour of Wallace

You know what the sad thing is fluffster - The last half of 2008 when we were going OK The Jackstar went awol. Not a great supporter one that wants to revel in the bad times but ingores the good. Must be a massive chip the guy carries.

And before you bite my head off Jack, No I am not a Wallace lover and the first 4 rounds this year he has just about lost me also, but I stick by the club and their decision whether it be right or wrong "in the end" to see out the 5 years.

Also said IMO don't think Campbell is the man BUT if he gets the gig he has my support , that's just the type of guy I am.
