this is bs, nothing to do with terry wallace, he coached very well today, and that f head derrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrwaybe russell keep going on that wallaces future relies on this result, rubbish.
deledio morton riewoldt and white cost us the game, they should be dropped. at least foley in the second half was much more efficient
pee poor 4 quarter effort by the above mentioned, lazy and no real desire
tambling jackson, gus, patto, nahas, tuck, joel our defence all good, even very good, cogs efforts fantastic.
captain newman should be dropped as captain also , he just is not good enough, once again rfc has made a mistake with our leader
when will we learn to win these games!
-
Morton, Newman, Riewoldt should be dropped. Deledio and White should not be dropped. Honorable losses this season is the way to go now. There will be no finals action. We need the best picks possible.

we bottomed out to get deledio and co, that didnt work, bottoming out does work, losing does not work, creating a winning culture works, we lost today again because we dont know how to win, you cannot coach or teach that, it comes from within
we have too many passengers and downhill skiers, ppl bag guys like bowden, he once again proved is is in our best 5 players, and well done to tambling , i have said it many times, when their careers are up, tambo will be better than lids

No such thing as an honourable loss here :banghead

yep 100% agree starting with another this week against the Lions.
new coach will have a few more picks at his disposal.
and yes TT the coach is part blame here because if after 4 years we still dont know how to win games.
Whose fault is that you dweeb, Dwayne Russell??

I hear you tigertime....Im sick of honorable losses too. :banghead

if we had have won today and v geelon this yr we would be right in this season, but we are not because we cant finish teams and games off, and ramps reckons bottoming out will help, bs it just ingrains further a losing culture
-
So this year whats the point of finishing 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th - for mine there is deadset NO POINT. Get an early pick, Get Butcher or Scully or whoever you want with the early pick, and instead of coughing up picks for players- keep the picks and just pick the young kids from the draft.
-
u r wrong ramps
no team has won from bottoming out, they have won by bringing winners to the club
the blues have not turned their team around because of draft picks
they brought in 3 people , the 3 most important people in the club that are winners
1/ captain judd a winner
2/ coach ratten a winner
and
3/ the late pratt, a president another winner
put all the best pics in a loser team and they also becoem losers
hawks are the same
1/ president kennett , is a winner
2/ clarkson a winner
3/ to win a premiership they brought in dew ....another winner
tanking is bullsh.it
-
I dont recall Clarkson being a premiership player or senior coach before getting appointed at Hawthorn. And I distinctly recall one Lance Franklin, one Jarrad Roughhead, one Jordan Lewis and one Xavier Ellis atleast being called by Hawthorn in drafts where they had tanked to get picks.

clarkson the person is a winner, he was a major player behind the ports granny

you can add Gibbs, Judd, Murphy and kruzer to that list all of which will help them into the finals while we will sit out yet again because of our pathetic and meaningless 9th finishes.
-
gibbs murphy and kruezer would not be as good without a judd around them or a ratten. deledio was meant to be a stuff but he isnt but if he played at carlton i bet he would be
judd pratt and ratten changed carlton, not bottoming out
-
If we tank this year, we get the last chance for a number of years at the best talent available at both the national and psd drafts, we cant waste that chance, we are already at R6 there are only 16 weeks left, we wont make the finals, get the picks, and give the new coach a chance to pick the players he needs.

losers mentality

maybe but its the best chance we got of getting some success.

mate bottoming out helped them to get Judd or has your memory lapsed. What picks do you think they used to give to Eagles??
It was a signed deal halfway through the season and they were very smart with their honourable losses whilst we weren't.
My issue is i dont want a new coach come in and start winning meaningless games so i must admit i am warming to the idea of seeing Mr Solarium play out the year then get dumped the day after Round 22.
-
Exactly which picks we get is not what concerns me most, it's getting the right coaching setup to develop them. Clearly we can't develop players to their peak the way other teams can.

Judd and Pratt have helped Carlton.
Ratten is a puppet and Sticks Kernahan has his hand right up Ratts bum as a puppeteer always does. Ratts has no opinion everything around him is choreographed.
As for us. Yep I am sick of losing narrowly with valour and honour then get flogged the following week or winning meaninglessly the week after. Ramps I'm with you.
Terry needs to play the kids for the rest of the year and ensure we get as many picks as we can for the draft in November. That should be his job for the rest of the year to give the new coach something.

all our money should go the area of development not playing $330k to one porn star names Jordy Mcmahon. No wonder his mrs left him.
A loser onfield and it seems a loser offield.

Just to think we missed out on drafting a good kid at 19 for McMahon. No wonder Wallace will lose his job, its decision like that that have wrecked Richmond.

I will never ever support a Tanking Richmond...All tanking does is provide excuses for poor performances....Hardly what we need at the moment ...another four years of pathetic excuses while players hide behind the term "Rebuild".This team has to start a winning culture by winning any game on offer.I would take an honorable 9th over a pathetic tank any day.

Then none of us will see any finals for the next decade. We should have tanked in 2005 and 2006 - and we'd be where Hawthorn is now, but no- we are proud club that needs to deliver a winning mentality- as Ian Wilson rightly said, you cant turn poo into raspberry jam. We need better players.

your joking right?????
you seem bright i just cant understand how you cannot see that by finishing 9th will and has cost us for so many years.
Finishing 9th leaves me with a empty feeling whilst other teams go the "honourable loss" route and end up playing finals whilst we are left sucking our thumbs

spot on, being 9th is always better than 16th
tankers are w@nkers, and tanking is for losers

I'm not a fan of McMahon at all, but leave the personal stuff out of it
-
Daniel....I just believe that the problem with Richmond is that the players have played without expectations over the last few seasons while the club is in rebuild mode and now the time has come to step up they dont know how. They are so used to losing its become part of the club culture.Tanking will just reinforce the losing culture .Dont you see the risk in a top draft pick comming to Richmond and being consumed by the losing culture. That is why Im against Tanking.

you cannot debate your point with these fools mat

We haven't played 4 quarters of footy all year. It was 10 mins against Carlton, 1.5 quarters against Geelong, 1 quarter vs Dogs and Melbourne, 3.5 vs North (win) and 2 quarters today. You're not going to win too many games on that form. We were inconsistent last year as well but when we were "on" we would score heavily. This year we are struggling to score when we have the momentum and so we are not getting the reward for our dominant patches. Today we were all over the Swans after half-time but still only kicked one more goal than we did before half-time when the Swans were on top :P. We're simply not good enough and our forward line's lack of potency is killing us. We need another quality key forward to straighten us up. It just so happens one of the top 3 picks this year is a quality key forward :whistle.

MEMO SELECTORS!!! PLAY VICKERY
Everyone is saying he is not ready etc etc too young etc etc.
i tell you what you can eat your own words tonight because he may have been the difference forward instead of a wasted selection in Richo.
Richo needs a week off has been very poor all year apart from one game. I dont care if you cross the white line your fit and if your not fit then selector and player need to look themselves hard in the mirror.
Our forward line lost us the game today
-
MEMO SELECTORS!!! PLAY VICKERY
Having watched Coburg on Saturday my answer to that would be resounding NO.
Player of the future yes but not ready at all. Against bigger bodies he is found wanting, looked lost a number of times on Saturday
Our forward line lost us the game today
Agree....the majority of them
-
I find it interesting when people say play the kids. Most of our team are kids! Apart from Richo and Bowden, the majority of the todays players were under 23. There aren't many young players we haven't given a chance or aren't in the team already - Vickery, Post and Putt are the only players that we haven't and they are first year draftees and/or ruck/KPP who need further developing.
Next year over half our 30+ players will retire or be moved on so players such as Vickery and Post will get their chance.

i find it very interesting when people are happy to not to take a punt for once
READ VERY SLOWLY MY FRIEND, WE LOST THE GAME BECAUSE OF OUR FORWARD LINE.
my point was i would rather have seen a young Vickery today and not a 5% Fit Richo who is NOT our future.
if you cant see that then thats your problem

Exactly MT. And let's look at the one major thing that has changed from last year. Hhhmmmm. Ah yes, that's it. Richo is back in the forward line permanently. The proof that was the second half of last season obviously wasn't enough. We have only hit our collective heads against the brickwall about 50 times - it obviously needs to be at least 100 times or so before the OBVIOUS TO THE WHOLE FOOTBALL-FOLLOWING COMMUNITY sinks in to our football department. As Graham Kennedy would say ........aaaaaaaaarrrrrrkkkkkkkkk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our game plan seems to rely on the sting going out the game before it starts to work. The longer a team can keep up the intensity against us, the further behind we get. Then we get back into it, outplay them, still have no proper forward structure and waste all of our hard work getting the ball by not scoring enough. :banghead
-

Yes, and he can hardly move, yet the ball is kicked to him 90% of the time when he's got 3 men on him!!!
Dumb football!
Dumb team selection when Richo obviously wasn't fit!

I agree smokey but it was a move out of desperate necessity unfortunately. We went back to Richo up forward because we had no big marking target in the first 4 rounds and he also takes the best defender allowing Jack more freedom with only the 2nd defender on him. Sarge was dropped because he's failed too many times and Cleve's been injured and is stuck in the Coburg 2nds. The problem on Sunday was Richo was in no condition to play and LRT and Richards had a field day. The game was lost at the selection table. Last week we dropped all non-fit/injured players (Simmo, Browny), trusted talls in their 3rd, 4th & 5th years to do the job and we win. This week we go back to selecting players nowhere near 100% right (Richo) and we lose.
