Thanks for the kind words mate.
It's always disappointing having a loss, but the ones against the Demons hurt more because half of your team are females.
Hope Scully leaves. ;D

Thanks for your concern
I think it is important to acknowledge the few thousand of your loyal & passionate fans who took time out of their busy ski season schedules and made the trek from Falls, Buller etc to the MCG on Saturday. They should be commended; it doens't happen that often
I think it is fair to say out of 62k people your were eagerly represented by say 10k at best :rollin

No worries just thought id check in and give you guys a bit of cheek. All in good fun though i hope Anyway i better be off, heading up to my chalet in buller today. Better go lock up my mansion in toorak and then jump in my range rover with my 32 yo wife (who is a stay at home Mum and just goes to the gym every morning and then meets her girlfriends for coffee) and my 3 kids who go to scotch college.See you later in the year.

Don't forget that a Collingwood side missing Jolly, Swan and Thomas (just to name a few) deestroyed your girls on Queens birthday. You've got a way to go as well.

Probably goes to the footy twice a year the other being on the Queens Birthday Monday.
Goes with his cream coloured chinos, blue shirt, tweed jacket with the elbow patches and brings his tartan rug and silver thermos bought from House with his soup. Claps to the Club song before and after the game because he doesn't know the words.

Which was:
"PLEASE READ: A message from the mods
As mods WP and I have always been fairly lenient with regards to what is posted on the forum. Long time posters would acknowledge this. However in recent times the level of smut, crude language and 12-year-old toilet humour posted has gone way too far and is appearing way too often. We've had a number of complaints including from long-time regular posters who are hardly prudes or don't enjoy a clever risque joke now and then.
Furthermore, the forum belongs to everyone and not just a select few to continually go off on in-house tangents using threads as a personal messaging service. If you want to discuss with other posters who are friends about stuff that has nothing to do with any topic then use your PMs. That's what they are meant for.
We welcome all newbies to OER but please be considerate of the OER forum and especially all its posters who don't want to continually wade through irrelevant garbage in numerous threads to find a few posts actually related to a topic. It spoils the discussion in each thread.

Have I posted 12 year old humour in this thread or any other thread recently? If not, shove the "you guys" up your ass, guy.

How about we end this thread, this fellow has got what he wanted... 3 pages of rubbish and now people are starting on each other...not really worth it.

Sorry if I have offended you JT - my comment wasn't directed at you it was a broad brush statement to all those who are contributing to the constat "12 yo tiolet humour". You were in the firing line so to speak because you repeated the term/words I had just removed
Perhaps I should have written:
"I appreciate some posters find the 12 year old humour funny but after a while it aint to alot of other posters on the forum"
Instead of uising the term "you guys"
-
What's wrong with 12 year old humour? Comedy was at its zenith in 1999, IMO.
-
I find it odd that our mods have let this go ahead.
Understand equal rights and all this modern day garbage, but if some clown comes on an opposition forum in sighting arguments seems stupid to let it run its course.
Do we lose anything by making this a Richmond only forum?

I guess the old saying applies - don't feed the trolls! I wonder also if the troll will show his face later on in the year when we play them again and they lose.

Very interesting, I used to often lunch on ladies who lunch. Apparently I was their physical trainer while their fat husbands worked up early heart attacks strutting around offices thinking they were alpha males dominating the local furniture and a clutch of sycophantic paper shufflers. At leas my kids are going to good schools.

come to think of it... they probably barrack for melbourne... Dont tease daddy you little bastards.

Looks like the demons won't quite cut the mustard either! :whistle

What a pathetic bag of poo Melbourne and some of their players are. Jarrod Rivers LMFAO.
We should pack up the club for losing to these blokes :D
-
Missed the game tonight just seen the scores though. Looks like the demons got ahead of themselves with a few wins. They should of beaten the bulldogs.

What gave me the biggest laugh wasn't the 10 goal flogging the Dees copped tonight but that 'Newy'-like free to Higgins against Trengove which had all the Dees fans up in arms. Hmmm they weren't complaining about that same free last week ::). Karma! :rollin

Wasn't that an all time classic? Life's a bitch.
I'm calling it now, 7th and 8th are there for the taking, plenty of teams in that 7th-12th play each other in the next couple of months.
We play the Demons, North and Bombers.
While we are not quite there yet I would argue that neither are Bombres, Demons or Roos, Freo have huge injury count and Bulldogs and Saints just have played consistly well to deserve finals.
Interesting times.
-
We'll beat melbourne in a few weeks. With Griffiths up forward, Post down back and this time we won't be thinking a week ahead to the FTF game 8)
-
That Port loss looks worse and worse each week.

That Port loss looks worse and worse each week.
As soon as I saw the fixture with a home game in Darwin I knew it could determine our season. Same with Cairns game. Richmond should do it properly and earn money the right way in front of 40,000 tigers every week.

186 point margin, worse than our loss to the Cats in 2007. Just to rub salt into the wound. Couldn't have happened to a nicer mob could it? :rollin

Cats 31 goals and another half a quarter to go :help
Make that 37 goals :o. They were just a goal short of the highest score ever and 4 points short of the greatest ever winning margin.
2011:
Geelong 37.11-233
Melbourne 7.5-47
1979:
Fitzroy 36.22-238
Melbourne 6.12-48
1992:
Geelong 37.17-239
Brisbane Bears 11.9-75
Melbourne now holds the two worst defeats ever on record :lol.

If i was in charge at Melb, would sack Bailey and his assistamts at 9.00am Monday.
Footy clubs have to be ruthless against lame performances on the field

Bailey and Melbourne?
the question is, and this is a serious question not a snipe,
is what Melbourne are dishing up under Bailey what you create when your foundation is built on deliberately loosing games?
or..
when people accuse Melbourne of tanking, is it really just a case of a crap coach of a crap team, rather than a team setting out to emulate the Pakistani cricket team?

It's neither. Carlton, hawthorn,st Kilda and even collimgwood have tanked over the past 10 years and it hasn't hurt them. It's hard to imagine that the eagles did not tank a little last year given their year so far. The Demons have a crap culture and an inferiority complex like the Tigers.
That's why we poo like big, black Alsatians when we play a good side with a ruthless reputation

Just a rumour but word on the Demons' forums is all isn't well behind the scenes within their footy dept. They are pointing the finger at the playing group still being upset at the poor treatment of then captain James MacDonald when he was cut at the end of last year. If there is any disunity behind the scenes it would eventually show onfield.

what do you regard as tanking?
deliberately do all in your power to loose,
or doing things like sending players that need surgery in to do so early. gifting a couple of kids a game or three to see what they show, perhaps giving a few blokes whose heads are chopping block a last chance to show what they've got or even increase their trade value? things that may increase your chances to loose, but otherwise are pretty sound football decisions.

The latter. Include match-ups which may be disadvantageous on the day (playing a first year kid on Judd as a learning process) or giving less gametime than usual to your better players and more to those on the fringe or who are young and inexperienced. When you're struggling to win 5-6 games per year it's not that hard to manufacture another loss or two to keep your wins down to the priority pick limit of 4 wins.
-
so we tanked last year? ;D
I heard someone on abc talkback after the game critisise bailey for the number of players he started with out of position.
Jurrah on the wing was one and there was another 2 or 3 that i missed.
thats what some people claim melbourne did when they accuse them of tanking.

i wish, after rnd 9 and the season totally shot it should not have been too hard to ensure just 4 wins.
this yr was a little different because we defeated some ordinary sides early in the season a pp was out of the question, but ensuring we finish bottom 4 or 5 is not.that may mean we can still try for a win or two lets be honest here we are that poor we hardly have to tank.

Melbourne tanking was that game where Jordie kicked the winning goal after the siren. They had their whole defence up forward and their whole forward line in defence. We were just so bad we still almost lost. Some Demon fans walked out of the 'G in disgust when Pettard put them in front with 5 minutes to go. The rest cheered and sang our theme song after Jordie kicked that goal.
The most alarming stat for us is if you take just the first 11 rounds of the past 5 years we've won just 10 of those from 55 games. If that's not a Club that needs help via priority picks then I don't know who does. Our season is over if not within the first month then the first two. Winning games against bottom clubs in the second half of the year seems to just allow those at the Club believe we are not that bad when we are. Our list is still in a poor state despite the top end of it having half-a-dozen or so potential A-graders. We are still a bare minimum 2-3 years away from being a finals contender and that's based on us doing everything right including when free agency comes in.
-
We were tanking too. We had Riewoldt, Morts and cotch on the pine at the end from memory
-
Problem at Melbourne is Chris Connelly and Cameron Schwab
Bailey being a so-and-so does not help matters
-
I reckon something was in the air because all of a sudden they pull up stumps, scully gets a sore knee, and Bailey became a leper, noted a few articles. They knew they weren't going to win a flag this year. If they want to force him out ala Craig...couple of big losses. Oilla. We know they aren't above tanking.

You can define it however you like thats not my point.
I'm notNecessarily advocating it, just saying most sides that tank come good and their tanked picks have helped - with the exception of Eagles this year.
Carlton and Melbourne are the systematic tankers and with Walker, Murphy, Gibbs, Kruezer and Judd -The blues are reaping all benefits today as a direct result of tanking.
Melbourne are not. They have the players but have stuffed up the off field appointments
Richmond are not, they have stuffed up the recruiting.
Hawthorn and Collingwood allowed a year of tanking and it netted them buddy and roughy and pendles and daisy.
Clearly working.
You may not agree with the philosophy of the tank but like salary cap rorting in previous decades it has done the job for a number of clubs.
FWIW - tanking is something I no longer would advocate at Richmond, we are so crap it would actually confuse the players.
I do not think we have tanked since the 2004 hawks vs Richmond game which ironically may have landed us roughhead.

or..

Just a rumour but word on the Demons' forums is all isn't well behind the scenes within their footy dept. They are pointing the finger at the playing group still being upset at the poor treatment of then captain James MacDonald when he was cut at the end of last year. If there is any disunity behind the scenes it would eventually show onfield.
very similiar to what happened at Punt Road with Gas and Chubba ;)
-
I hope Richmond gets Bailey once the dees sack him seeing that all the staff we've recruited from Melbourne have been so successful. ;D
-
so we tanked last year? ;D
I heard someone on abc talkback after the game critisise bailey for the number of players he started with out of position.
Jurrah on the wing was one and there was another 2 or 3 that i missed.
thats what some people claim melbourne did when they accuse them of tanking.
Another thing I remember from that game was that Melbourne had their resting ruckman pick up Nathan Brown. He may have lost a yard after his knee, but it was still one of many strange match-ups that day :whistle
-
how you define it is the crux of the point though Y+B
Tanking in it's literal sense is taking a dive, coming from an old phrase used in the US to go into the tank - a swimming pool was called a tank, so to dive = to go into the tank = tanking
Ok now i digress.
If when you say other teams have tanked and you are talking about simply smart player management at the end of the season that smart teams have done even before there was a draft system ,or even before there was priority picksthen there is not really anything to recover from.
If you are talking about a team taking measures with the sole intent of trying to loose, then that is a different kettle of fish as this sort of thing will have some sort of affect on morale and particularly club culture. I know if i had ever run out and found out that someone had been taking measure to ensure we lost despite our efforts i would want to punch the low life cads. I'd be pretty sure any one with an ounce of competitive spirit would feel the same, regardless of what level you played footy.
That is why i put that question to you, to determine exactly what you mean when you say tanking otherwise we end up arguing when we are not even referring to the same thing. :P
I have only ever had a case put forward that a team has truly tanked ( i take the term to literally mean it's true meaning) for Melbourne and the main argument was they played players out of position.
so now we see the same team with the same coach cop the same critism after a heavy soul destroying loss, in a season that this club is supposed to be on the way up yet has copped large losses pretty much all year.
surely that raises questions about what is what? is he just a dildo coach with NFI, or did he actively set out to loose and this is the culture he has created, or perhaps only fostered?
Wallace even admitted that there was a game where he did nothing to stem the tide, so that in itself is a form of tanking but even that raises questions.
was wallace even capable doing anything if he had wanted? is he that vain and of low character that he would prefer to be known as tanker rather than a bad coach?
or was that really his attitude, a cancerous one that flowed through the club giving us the heartless, gutless, weak as pee side that had all the fighting spirit of a sea sponge?
-
Chutney said to me earlier this year that the players at Melb were not happy with the way MacDonald was shafted ....
Have to say yesterday's loss puts alot of things into perspective for me at least
We (RFC) are constantly being compared to the Dees list wise, keep getting told their list is better etc, leadership (on field) wise
yesterday showed that Melb have far bigger problems than we do because theirs run much deeper
they tanked for picks - got the cream of the crop IMHO they were no brainer selections.
But I reckon there has to be massive questions marks on their ability to develop players
Oh and BTW their game plan is a crap :rollin :rollin
-
I've always wondered about bad culture and loser mentality at clubs.
When I was a boy the tigers were the biggest club in the VFL. Ruthless on and off the field.
I used to wonder what it would be like to barrack for a loser club like Footscray, Stkilda, Sth Melbourne, Fitzroy and Melbourne.
It used to frustrate me when we ever got close to losing to any of those teams.
Clubs like Collingwood Essendon Geelong and especially Carlton have an arrogance and expect only success beyond all else. These clubs don't seem to accept mediocrity at all. It's no wonder these clubs don't spend too much time down the lower half of the ladder.
Richmond is like ALL other mediocre clubs. They accept mediocrity on and off the field.
Like Cook at Geelong, Gale must rid the club of ALL things mediocre not accepting anything less than excellence. If he fails in this Richmond WILL always remain like Melbourne and other loser clubs.

Our 157 point loss to Geelong in 2007 was the week that Gaspar was told to hang up his boots. May have some creedence.

Al, so if I have this right - playing your team out of position is a pure tank versus booking players in for early surgery as it could be deemed player management?
I do not think that there are similar numbers of players booked for early surgery as "player management" today compared to 30 years ago. It is completely different today - for professional reasons and because the draft gives you more to gain by "booking players" into surgery earlier.
The pure tank has many more examples that that Demons game you refer to.
Carlton vs Melbourne at the end of 2008, Richmond vs Hawthorn was as well - that was the single most disgusting game of football I have attended - hawthorn treated it like a praccy match and there was one involving Freo that landed them Haselby.
That is taking the tank to it's lowest common denominator - agreed.
I would still maintain that booking players in for early surgery and coaching the "go through the motions" is a form of at least "giving up" if you don't want to use tanking.
It is still taking a cynical approach in that it is used to leverage draft picks.
It never happened before the draft system so isn't it ultimately trying the achieve the same result?
I'd also add, is it not valid to do in the odd year as an opportunistic measure I.e magpies and hawks?
Compared to:-
A Systematic "tanking" or "giving up" over several year which i have an issue because it defines part of the culture of that era. It will be interesting to see how far the Blues go with this current list.
-
Chutney said to me earlier this year that the players at Melb were not happy with the way MacDonald was shafted ....
Caro agrees with you WP. They aren't happy with Cameron Schwab who according to Caro will be gone today. Caro also claimed if Schwab goes then Scully will stay.
SportsNewsFirst is reporting both Schwab and Bailey are set to walk ...
DEAN Bailey may not be the only casualty of Melbourne’s darkest day, with Demons CEO Cameron Schwab also on the precipice – as one of the players admitted they didn’t care during the debacle against Geelong.
http://www.sportsnewsfirst.com.au/articles/2011/07/31/schwab-and-bailey-set-to-walk-the-plank/
-
I feel sorry for Dean Bailey he comes across as a really decent family man. A very decent bloke. Hes done a good job at Melbourne. Sat at the bottom, collected the picks. They will trash his career and IMHO he deserves better than that.

Can't draft leadership, tanking and losing culture will never develop any leadership.
Can't win flags without great leadership. As much as Maxwell isn't a footballs rectum, kills me to say he's a great leader and his development as a captain was a big reason they have improved so much.

Nah Caro is agreeing with Chutney who I happen to agree with too ;D
Schwab wasa dud CEO at the Tigers, the Dees the first time but looked good at the Dockers because he the resoruces around him ... this time at the Dees ....well I've heard the rumour too that if Schwab goes Scully stays .... that means the CEO has far to much input into Footy matters IMHO
-
Its amazing how a clown like Schwab has lasted so long in the AFL system.
At punt road when KB was coach, he demanded that he sit in the box with KB each week.
No wonder KB had a major fallout with him.
Ordinary bloke is C.Schwab

RFC has been littered with guys like him that have had no idea, thus we cant get out of this rut !

My thoughts on teams that under acheive and put up lame performances is that changes have to be made.
Stynes shoud force the issue on Monday morning and show the coach and staff the door.
They can still salvage something out of the year, they aint that bad.
Players didnt try one bit yesterday.
Once the players stop trying, just get rid of the coach

It did happen before the draft system, granted probably not the extent that it does now. It never was unusual to see senior players get a rest and a number of debutants come in for the last games once a club knew their season was over.
When it's all said and done to rest a player carrying an injury or to send him in for surgery that was planned at the end of the season is the smart thing to, whether you get another reward besides getting this player ready for next year or not.
when you talk about coaching through the motions though. Really, i wouldnt want to be involved with a coach capable of doing that. make selection decisions that have a valid purpose that may decrease your chance of winning, but come match day everyone should be focused on doing all they can to win.
perhaps it's just wishful thinking, but i dont believe that there have been as many incidents of match day coaching to loose as some people believe. I argued this with a mate , an essendon supporter, one night though and he said that when footscray were admitted into the league they had to play and beat essendon, the reigning VFL premiers, to be accepted.
the players supposedly were paid, (or recieved gifts of some sort) to loose, which they did.
Then again it could a story made up by feral essendon supporters to excuse them for loosing to a VFA side. :rollin

Demons Vice-Pres still in a meeting with Jim Stynes - wouldn't give many details about what would be discussed on his way in. More to come.

Was shattered, Gas was my 2nd favourite player ever behind Scotty Turner. I don't know what my obsession is with fullbacks.
Good fullbacks are priceless IMO.
Haven't been close to finding a half decent one since..
Thought Matty Knights departure was also ordinary.

100% agree, re: Lyon.
Lyon reminds me of your stereotypical on and off again local sportsman. Loves the drama that boosts his ego when heaps of people ask for his services, yet never really keen to play anywhere for anyone just loves the constant phone calls from different clubs trying to recruit him. Absolute pigs of the world.
Lyon is one of them, just loves the attention that surrounds him whether it be the footy show, footy confidential or triple m radio people ringing saying "Coach Gary..", media experts saying "Coach Gary.. you're the white knight"
Yet hasn't got the pills to put on the line and have a dip.
-
Chubba Kellaway was worse

Nothing.shouldn't have a job come Monday

Intrigued about this Schwab bloke, too young to know his involvement at RFC re; Bartlett etc.
Find it hard to believe that a player like Scully hinges on what CEO personal is at the club. Can't be that bad/involved surely?
Seems like a pig of a man from reports.
What did he stuff up at Richmond? The 90s werent as bad as the 00's.
-
Chubba Kellaway was worse
My memory escapes me I can't really remember the Gasper debacle.. either with Kellaway. Care to shed some light?
Loved A.K aswell.
I remember the Knights fiasco and him being stripped of his captaincy, did he get pushed out?
We need a history book of the eff ups so I can go back over them lol. Would be a thicker book than our success stories over the last 20 years lol
-
Put it this way.
Who has more respect in the football world right now, Bailey, or Neil Craig?
I still rate Craig higher than some AFL coaches.
Craig is quality. I don't think he's a premiership coach but would be value to any football club in the league under some capacity. Would be the best assistant coach you could find IMO. Would be perfect to head up some development with his sports science background.
Bailey I don't rate on any level. Wouldn't even be a good assistant IMO. Clones of Wayne Brittain and Peter Rhode.
-
too long a story re Gas and Chubba, move on, lets just say both were burnt by the club
-
from the ouside, it just looked like they wanted to retire a couple of senior blokes who gave their all but were ordinary kicks, so they could develop some youth.
-
Despite the many fiascos and implosions we've had as a club since probably the time Hafey was let go, none of them compare to the way the Melbourne Board sacked Norm Smith just 9 months after their 6th flag in 10 years and when they were still 9-3 and equal top on the ladder.
-
from the ouside, it just looked like they wanted to retire a couple of senior blokes who gave their all but were ordinary kicks, so they could develop some youth.
That's the main issue for me. Could someone at the Club please find a big key defender who naturally has good footskills with good technique that stands up and hits targets reliably as I'm struggling to remember the last time Richmond had one!
-
astbury.
very solid kick. has to make the grade first though.

Exactly for far too long Lyon has sat in his cushy media role and taken the long handle to everyone else yet sits on the fence and talks fairy floss about what he can or can't do.
I don't think I can coach I don't think I can go on the board I don't think I can help the club I don't hink I can scratch my hairy bum.
You either do something about and say what needs to be done period by either mentioning the coach the players the general manager whoever rather than this non confrontational crap he dishes us and passes as hard assessment much the same way as the footy club he played for is dishing up two out of three weeks.\
Gutless.
Lyon said a few years ago abt Kennett I think it was who had a stab at him b/c he has never been involved in a flag that he still had a right to talk about certain issues despite the fact he had never been involved in a flag made no difference.
Guess what Gary it does and always will and you are a twit and a flog.

There was alot more pressure on Neil Craig this year to get the team to perform IMO then there was on Bailey. I think alot of people expected more out of the crows after there round 1 victory over the hawks then they have produced. So I think Craig was more of a victim of people having overly high expectations on the team.
Bailey well I don't know. They haven't came on as much as I thought they would but yeah.

Most Crow supporters had enough. Not sure why, probably felt he didn't take full advantage when they were at the top of their game 5 or 6 years ago. He also hasn't shown to be the most adaptable coach when things were going wrong.
Mind you, most accused Mick Malthouse of the same thing 4 years ago.

Bailey is first to face the chopping block. Cameron Schwab is next up. Chris Connolly will probably be the third casualty.

Only thing was the development coach sacked a ruckman then didn't believe in them and was one goal away from a GF in 04 fell out with the CEO and choked in the prelim in 2005.
"Bails" roller coaster can only be defined on the win loss margins this season. Nothing tight other than a draw against SYdney and a 27 point win against a good up and coming side in Round 14.
-
This is all part of operation 'get rid of development coach get in tactical coach'. Saints did it as well.
That's probably true as Bailey was on a knife edge all year being out of contract and seemingly never had the full support from those above him. Losing by 186 points and sacking Bailey with 5 weeks to go though wouldn't have been part of the plan .
-
I reckon something stank for a while. They are desperate to keep scully. The players gave him the a-rse, its been done before. And Schwab.

Just wanted to pop on and say bad luck about saturday guys.Looks like youre just never quite going to cut the mustard. It was a very satisfying win especially when you guys are talking yourselves up as contenders. And yeah jack Riewoldt always does well on Frawley doiesnt he......
Enjoy the game tonight mate! :lol
Great goal by Jack to finish the game off. Made Frawley and Garland look like fools :thumbsup.
I wonder if Mighty Dees has the guts to come on here tonight and defend his soft bunch of snipers. It's really tough headhunting opponents after they dispose of the ball ::). I hope Sylvia and Davey enjoy their extended preseason thanks to the MRP.

Melbourne supporters are already licking their lips over the 2 first rounders they're supposedly getting. :rollin

Haha we could have won if a few umpiring decisions went our way.....
They hope Scully goes to GWS.
Green and Davey play like millionaires with little impact.
Richmond are ahead of us right now and we started our rebuild before them.
Looks like them leaving early from the Mt Buller ski chalet to come to the football backfired.
To top it off all Range Rovers BMW 4WD and Volvos in the MCG carpark had their tyres slashed.
Suck it up princesses.
-
Theres no way GWS should take Scully. He cant get through a game at the moment - long term it may be a problem and for the cost - its not worth the risk.

If GWS take Scully they are being irresponsible IMHO. The kid cant get through games at the moment. Not his fault but its a massive amount of money.

he is still a kid.
the endurance will improve up until about 24 so if that's his only knock....
perhaps melbourne are burning him out too, i suppose.

I have him in a heartbeat, interrupted pre season, we saw the impact that had on Cotchin.
He's going to be special if his knee holds up

Scully maybe using his knee to drive his price down so he can get to Richmond
Straight swap with Jackson?

LMAO Gracie. Hope for your sake Andy doesn't read that.

I was talking to the father of a GWS listed player and told me Scully has agreed to go there. Of course he cannot sign yet but he has agreed in principle along with a Collingwood.

Any chance of telling us who the Collingwood player is? Daisy? :pray :pray :pray

Knowing that since he posted on here '65, this Melbourne troll has had to witness his pathetic team being annihilated by a record 186 points at Geelong, then witnessed the sacking of a coach who was just doing as he was told, plus saw his club being investigated and fined for tanking, plus now seeing a Dank(ing) ASADA investigation into drugs, all while this going nowhere Neeld era has resulted in flogging after flogging, is pleasure enough :rollin.

Funny - I used to hate Melbourne particularly after Browny snapped his leg and I had a Dees supporter laughing at me about it afterwards. Now though I just feel pity for them.
I wonder if the reverse is true for how they feel about us now :shh

You only have two decent players Cotchin and Deledio.
In two years after two consecutive 9ths and Hardwick doing what he was told and leaving your sad and sorry footy club we will pass you again somewhere in the bottom half of the ladder on your way down and on our way up and yes two years will be a long time in football.
Lyndon Dunn is better than Newman
Sylvia is better than Tuck
Grimes is better than Conca
Magner Tapscott greater than Batchelor and Houli.
You got lucky and the umps favoured you blokes no end yesterday.
Don't like physical flooding footy and we proved it and we showed how bad you really are. Flash in the pan footy club you are. The Dees are on the rise you know and we know it.
Our base of players is better than yours. We have superstars you have cloggers players who play well one year when their contracts are due and then go missing till the last year of their new contracts. Usually coincides with a 9th place finish.
Now tell me get lost and go to the snow just as you blokes go to some dive pub and snort your beer through your noses and then rush home with half your Centrelink payments down the drain and tomorrow morning send in your résumé to my HR department so my PA can give you a call to get your hopes up for an interview to get a decent well paying job for you, your girlfriend her kid with some bloke who left her at 19 and your kid together and I'll have a Moët or a Hendricks and tell you to stuff off because as a rule we are superior to you in all facets of life. Money, power, women, holidays, footy and life. I'll just give you a look over and laugh all the while getting your hopes up only for the corporate reality that is my success and your failure to hit you like a hammer.
Bombers will slaughter you on Saturday night. Nightmare at the G. From Farmer to Davey to Sean Charles to Jetta to Matthew Mahoney and Les Bamblett you hate playing indigenous players and it was seen yesterday and will be there for all to see on Saturday night. Dempsey, Jetta, Ryder, Lovett Murray will be the biggest margin in a Dreamtime game no doubt. Other than Maurice Rioli who are your indigenous stars, Shane Edwards, Martin McGrath, Richard Tambling oh what a draft pick, Jarrad Oakley Nicholls another high end draft failure. As I said nightmare at the G on Saturday will be like the day we beat you in 1998 round 22. There go your dreams of finals again but I did say dreams. For our inability to get it together we have made finals 4 times since you last played in September.
3-0-75 means 3 times 9th a decade no finals series in 75 years. Bold and brash by the Tiges.
3 times 9th in the 90's the 00's and all you are doing is duplicating the blueprint of mediocrity in every subsequent decade. Must make you feel warm in your cockles winning 11 and losing 11 and finishing 9th so often. What a footy club you are the envy of the competition with that ambitious plan.
We are starting our rise and once again Richmond Footy Club has been our first step. From Checker Hughes leaving your awful dirty, lowlife footy club and winning premierships against you in the late 30's and early 40's, to the maulings in the 50's, to Ray Biffin turning it on in the last quarter against you in the 70's ,to Garry Lyon ,David Neitz, Jeff Farmer slaughtering your finals hopes you have always been our inferiors, lesser likes, worse off than us since footy began.
You'll be seeing us in finals very soon while you'll be back to sacking coaches and lining the races to spit and abuse some poor bloke trying his best which is oh so we'll short of acceptable. We'll be gracing the G in September whilst you will be having your Best and Fairest Night at the GB Hotel on Church St the Wednesday after your season ends in Round 22.
Take care boys I will be at the snow in front of an open fire with my harem of pretty women stoking the fire in my boxers watching them parade their sexy bodies for me in their seductive lingerie while you'll be at a flooded Big 4 caravan park on the Mornington Peninsula getting henpecked by your politically correct partner and looking for a servo to fill your gas cylinder to light a barbie for your $2 Coles snags in the pouring rain while she's showering under a garden hose in her granny undies and her size 18 disproportionate body sagging and heaving all over the place.
Enjoy your life of banality you annual and pathetic losers.

I heard they're looking for cave paintings of Melbourne's last flag.
Dees will be lucky to be in the comp before they ever crack single digits on the ladder again, and all 14 of their toff supporters can put their blazers away because the AFL and the MCC both decide they can't be arsed propping up that rot of a football club anymore.

1. Will Jane sqWatts-to-pee be on an AFL list in 2 years?
2. How[sic] is definitely > than the entire AFL when it comes to a) butchering the ball b) giving the ball straight to the opposition after taking a hanger
3. How good was big Jacky Grimes when he tried getting tough on Jackson, but knocked himself out because Jackson fell on him. :lol But jest aside, better at getting injured than Conca.
4. Who is Trengove?
5. How many times does a gumby like James Sellar need to be spun around to be able to handball? Though taking a look at him, Dawes and the rest the widely laughable Dees recruiting strategy it all becomes clear. It's just to recruit as many semi evolved simians as possible as that was way back when they were any relevance to the competition.

1. Yes, Melbourne's. Will probs be captain after they give up on tissue paper Grimes and that other guy.
2. Other teams let him take hangers because he's a butcher.
3. Tough man that Grimes. Rough up opposition player, puts himself in a coma.
4. Some gimp that's living off Jackson Trengove's fame.
5. Big Sellar. I know picks in the 50's are speculative so you can't really be accused of stuffing up but lol you stuffed up Melbourne.
@Rog Melbourne could just play home games at Punt Road. Wouldn't even need a redevelopment. Would solve all issues. :shh

Fantastic post by this guy. I remember when I was this deluded about Richmond. Maybe not that deluded.
Dees are too insignificant to dislike. Along with Western Bulldogs and Port Adelaide. They are just there.

I didn't read the whole thing pre-edit. FFS someone tell me what the edited bit is?
You still have to lol at the Trengove part. Read it 15 times now to see if it was for real or a typo. Then checked the post date to see if it was pre round 1, 2010. I feel like I've been totally mind stuffed.

I wonder if she has replaced her demons membership sticker on the 'drover with a white flag yet?

Never understood why opposition supporters feel the need to post on other club's forums.

I find the funniest thing about that entertaining read was that Grand Old Flog still comes on our site and reads our posts after all this time.
Go Dees.
Melbourne Footy Club > Richmond Footy Club.
The 7 stages of grief.
1. Denial
2. Pain
3. Anger bargaining
4. Depression reflection
5. Upward turn
6. Reconstruction & working through
7. Acceptance & hope
Clearly you have skipped the first 4 stages and jumped right into stage 5 when quite obviously you are still at stage 1- DENIAL.

Why are people falling for this?
Reckon I have a fair idea of who it might be.
How is anyone falling for it? Everyone's just having a good laugh. Highly entertaining. :lol

Awesome rant. Thought it was hilarious.
Sorry boys wasn't me. I rant but not funny like that.
Maybe Johnny Mrakov can tell us.
He seems to think he knows who it is?

Just wanted to pop on and say bad luck about saturday guys.Looks like youre just never quite going to cut the mustard. It was a very satisfying win especially when you guys are talking yourselves up as contenders. And yeah jack Riewoldt always does well on Frawley doiesnt he......
Hope you and Tom 'pre-goal celebration' Bugg enjoyed the result and Riewoldt kicking 6 goals tonight.
Now thanks to the Mighty Tigers, you rah-rahs can put the lid back on the thermos, fold up the woolen blanket, pack the range rover and head back up to the snowfields.

Since this thread was created stating that we will never “cut the mustard”, we have made 4 finals series including one premiership while the Shemons are searching for their first September appearance since 2006.

Laugh it up you hacks.
2 finals series since the dawn of man.
We still have more flags than you.
Two years may be a long time but 12 years since finals is even longer. Twice in 30 is even more seldom but hey amuse yourselves.
Riewoldt owned by Frawley again.
Garland > Rance
Trengove > Martin
Watts > Vickery Griffiths Astbury combined
How > Vickery Griffiths Astbury combined
You only have two decent players Cotchin and Deledio.
In two years after two consecutive 9ths and Hardwick doing what he was told and leaving your sad and sorry footy club we will pass you again somewhere in the bottom half of the ladder on your way down and on our way up and yes two years will be a long time in football.
Lyndon Dunn is better than Newman
Sylvia is better than Tuck
Grimes is better than Conca
Magner Tapscott greater than Batchelor and Houli.

This one is particularly gold.
Garland - gone
Trengove - gone
Watts - gone
Howe - gone
Dunn - gone
Sylvia - gone
Grimes - gone
Magner - gone
Tapscott - gone
What coach are they up to since this post? Third? We also played finals that year.

Trengove better than Martin.

Think it was pretty clear even back then that was wrong.... :shh

Unless you blew picks 1 + 2 and let Martin slide to 3.
For all the jibes over the Tambling-Franklin effort by the Tigers, this one very conveniently just keeps flying under the radar. Funny that.
-
Dont forget they also essentially traded Salem and Dom Tyson for Josh Kelly.... :rollin

Poonce team for poonce supporters
I was laughing at the stupid look on Viney's face when Stack put him on his arse, "Mums'y, I've had a booboo"

One of the great threads in OER history.

Why on earth would anyone take a cheese platter to the footy. There club supporters are completely stuffed. And the hats... wtf :rollin
