ANYBODY ??
-
Does it matter?
I really, really, really hope Matt White gets on the P-1-55 tonight. :pray
-
It probably involves some running, which our lazy f**ks (first year players excluded) can't be bothered doing.
-
Tanking? (could of picked a better year for it imo...) :banghead
-
theres no tanking going on. we are not good enough. we dont have enough quality players and thats about the sum of it all. its 10 years of frawley and wallace that has left us like this. nothing much more can be said. we are a long way of it. mind you astbury showed afew things today and if Griffiths comes in well hopefully he can do the same.
-
re running - precisely.
Funny thing is,were no worse without Newman, lol.
-
ANYBODY ??
Mate, just got home .
Answer to your question , there isnt one.
Will say this.
Hardwick is way out of his league we have made a huge mistake in his appointment, HUGE !
Suburban footy would be his limit.
The following players have GONE BACKWARDS at a rate of knots.
Post ::)
white ::)
Rance ::)
Vickery ::) HE WONT MAKE IT EITHER.
Lids ::)
Tambling ::)
As for his treatment of Tuck playing him off half back and not playing his the first 2 rounds,
Well guess what, he went on ball in the second half and at least held his own.
As for the game plan , there isnt one I am afraid.
We were horrible today, pathetic actually

With all due respect jamie
Rance was going backwards at a rate of knots last year
White probably and shouldnt be at Richmond next year
Deledio and Tambling are stuffing around coz they have no help
Vickery is just a kid ruck wise and its to early to tell
Post is going backwards- I agree
But theres to many blokes who warent up to it- Edwards, Jackson, Tuck, Simmonds etc. No coach could fix this rabble of a playing list- no one.
-
Vickery, average 6 possesions a game during his career in the TAC.
He is going no where,
Thought Tuck was okay in the 2nd half when on the ball.
The game plan is terrible
Had the binoculars on the coaching staff at the breaks, Campbell didnt even address his group at the 3/4 time, and the other coaches looked devestated.
I think that Hardwick isnt the right person for the job.
Why ? we have guys who just refuse to chase, kick to guys under the pump, ete etc, we CANT GET THE BASICS RIGHT :banghead
What Richard Tambling did in the 3rd quarter when he kicked to a 3 on 1 in the goal square was unbeleivable, who do you blame ? The coach, as he should of been dragged ASAP and wasnt, there lies the PROBLEM.
-
After 5 years of Frawley and another 5 of Wallace I think we should allow Hardwick atleast a couple of years before we pull the knives out. We had Melbourne on the run in the first quarter, Dea gifted them 3 goals- hes just a kid, you cant blame Hardwick for that, Jackson, Simmonds, Edwards, Hislop, White et al. To many blokes who cant kick.
I was happy with Astbury and Taylor- thats what I got out of todays game, we found a couple of players and importantly we found a future key forward, now if Griffiths can do the same in afew weeks then this season will not be a complete waste.
-
Griffiths kicked 3 goals today for Coburg reserves
Will be interesting to see how much game time he played too as I doubt it would have been more than perhaps 3/4s

There you go Jacko if this season we get Astbury Griffiths Taylor and Martin then it wont have been a wasted year.

Thought Tuck was okay in the 2nd half when on the ball.
Disagree Jack. I thought Tuck today showed with crystal clear clarity why he has been on the outer - the number of times he got the ball and just banged it or handballed it forward without looking or thinking (especially in the 2nd half when he went on the ball) was frustrating to say the least. Our side today was screaming out for the few older guys to stand up and they failed us again. Simmonds and Tuck - absolutely no benefit from keeping them in the seniors now - not as protection to the kids, not as experience in the clinches, not as mentors, not as anything. Thanks and bye.

It will, why ?
As we aint competitive.
What you do with the likes of Tambling, Riewoldt, Post, Collins, White, Rance, Edwards , Hislop ::)

I agree with this. I didnt want to name Tuck to be cut this week, but Id be retiring Simmonds and cutting Tuck and McMahon. Club needs to make a statement about the standards needed to be a Richmond player.

Tambling of to an interstate club at years end according to some
Riewoldt is overated by our supporters and Id trade him as well
Post is going nowhere except the Coburg seniors
Collins is also overated by our supporters, gets caught to often, cant see what others see in him anyway
White should be gone at seasons end
Rance is not the player we were hoping for nevertheless he will probably survive the cuts at years end
Edwards should be sent to an adelaide club in a trade
Hislop should never have been traded for
Thomson see Hislop
McMahon should be gone from Richmond asap
Tuck see McMcMahon
Simmonds should retire this week
I even put a few extras in for you Jacko. ;D

Just watching the Saints Freo game on foxtel and talking about GAME PLAN.
Each time when both teams go inside F50, they have at least 3 players who are isolated inside F 50.
we have no body, Riewoldt getting kicks high up on the wing :banghead

If he played inside F50 and stayed there, he would have 12 shots at goal a game ::)

Lyon has been there 3 years, Harvey 3 years, Dean Bailey has been there 3 years.
Hardwick has had 4 games.

Very easy to have 3 players play inside F 50 when we have the ball, its aint ''Rocket science "" :banghead :banghead
Auskick stuff

ANYBODY ??
get the stuffen thing and kick it to a player in the same colours :o

I think Hardwick's game plan is starting to become less opaque. As I said before IMO Hardwick being the new vogue young coach he is is working on line by line. First up is defence which will be the main focus this year. Just from a tackling perspective there is a clear difference to Wallace's tenure. As far as offence it's fairly basic but it's far more direct. We still overused the handball at times which got us into trouble but 54 inside 50s today is significantly better than the 30 or so we were only reaching last year. I thought our short distance footpassing today over 15-20m hitting-up players was better also (longer passing still an issue).
-
Our pressure on the opposition has really stepped up in the last two weeks. Fiercer tackling and alot more of it rather than this coralling we saw under Wallace. What was the tackle count today? That tackle on Brown after the Riewoldt incident was just great. Need more of it and will result into referred pressure. One percenters are also high as well.
I am also seeing alot of shepherding too which was virtually non existent under Wallace.
I am seeing parts of a game plan which will lead to winning seasons in the future. Hardwick has us on the right track.

You obviously haven't been paying attention for the past 4 or 5 weeks Tucker. I'm surprised Hardwick still has the job - he hasn't won a game, he has no gameplan, he is teaching them the wrong things. Get a grip man, dump some chicken poo, join in the chorus..........................................Sack Hardwick, Sack Hardwick, Sack Hardwick, Sack Hardwick, Sack Hardwick, Sack Hardwick, Sack Hardwick, Sack Hardwick, Sack Hardwick, Sack Hardwick, Sack Hardwick.
Proudly brought to you by the poster formally known as Jackstar, Jackstar Is Back, Passionfruit, Jackstar Is Back Again, Guest.

It's because we played
crap like Adelaide and Hawthorn.
They steppd up the opposition is nearly as poor as us.
I went today and have to say the game standard was like two blue bus loads fighting for a chocolate bar
-
We still need to get a better gameplan when kicking out of defensive 50.
-

Yes they do Danog, but you have to acknowledge that they obviously worked on it during the week (as Hardwick said they would) and it was light years ahead of last week's terrible efforts.
-
if we had 2 or 3 blokes from other clubs, not superstars just blokes who can play a certain way, we'd be way better off, blokes like Davis from Adelaide for a key defensive post and Jack from Sydney to add to our mids a ruck wouldnt go astray either.

Phil Davis was a number 10 pick in 2008
Kieran Jack was a NSW scholarship player and was signed up before anyone else could grab him
By that logic, why can't we focus on drafting and developing our own Davis & Jack types from the draft rather than chasing them from other clubs?

i just used them as examples of 2 types of player that would be handy for us and the game plan that hardwick wants to implement.

We couldn't tell anything about ball movement in the wet as we kept things simple moving the ball forward as much as possible but today was a tick for work ethic and remaining disciplined as a team and making sure we did the basics right - playing in front and being first to the footy. A long time since a Richmond side played smart footy. A record unbelievable 140 tackles :o shows the defensive side of the game Dimma stressed from the beginning is starting to sink in into the playing group. The best team play today was in the last quarter when we just pressured and worked the ball from our own goal-line outside defensive 50 without taking possession once and then from the stoppage we got the breakaway and kicked a goal :thumbsup. Another little step forward.
-
Another four quarter effort from the lads. They are starting to win 2 and 3 quarters a match and I loved the way we buried them despite the conditions. We would have won this game by 2 or 3 goals in the past or let them back into the game in the third quarter and blown our chance. Good to see we turned a 4 goal 3 quarter time lead into an 8 goal win. Another vital ingredient to players development and change in on field culture and perception.

Was just thinking that after the game. I thought to myself "feels great to really put away a side for a change".

After a 0-9 start Danog, that has to be the year's biggest understatement!!

Yep. Said to my wife at 1/2 time that the third quarter will tell all about this game. Port gave it their best shot for the sum total total of 4 points benefit. When the siren went at 3/4 time I knew we had them beat.

BLOODY OATH

Its been a bloody long time since you could watch a Richmond game and relax during the last quarter.
What a great feeling it was.

The thing that won it was the defensive effort in the first half of the 3rd qtr, great thing was Dimma could of pushed players back but didn't, alas we cracked them defensively then offensively.
Like I said elsewhere will be interesting to see which way we go Friday .... :gotigers
-
game plan looks better when you have a 2 meter tall CHF and Riewoldt inside the forward line
-
On the Sunday Footy Show Crawf and Browny said we've been the longest kicking side over the past 6 weeks and that's why we've turned our season around. Browny said in the past we would go with short handballs and kicks and get ourselves into trouble. Jack providing a go to marking target helps to encourage the long kicking. We've also been No.1 in clearances.
-
long kicking to the forward line & less use of the ball is basic football knowledge.
These clowns like Wallace & Frawley had all intensions to keep the RFC down in the mud so the Hawks & Saints could grab glory
We had Richo who is one of the best one on one marks in the league at FF so no more excuses
-
There has always been a game plan since Hardwick took over, our players didn't have the skill to execute it but they are getting it now!!
