HAWTHORN footballer Travis Tuck has been treated for a drug overdose after being found unconscious in the street.
Tuck – the son of Hawk legend Michael Tuck - was found by patrolling police in Berwick, at about midnight last Friday.
He was slumped in a vehicle parked in Lyall Rd.

Hope the kid's okay and doesn't get delisted
-
Travis could be anything. Has enormous ability.
Hope he turns it around. As a player with no off field issues I'd welcome him at Richmond with open arms.
-
Travis is lucky to be still alive if it was GBH. You'd hope he wasn't driving around while on drugs or he could have killed someone.
-
HAWTHORN'S Travis Tuck has become the first AFL player to register a third positive drugs test.
He is expected to face the AFL tribunal within days where he faces a penalty of up to 18 matches
STRIKE OUT - HOW THE AFL'S ILLICIT DRUGS POLICY WORKS
Strike 1 - player, player's club doctor and AFL medical commissioner advised of the offence. Suspended $5000 fine imposed. Counselling and target testing follows.
Strike 2 - player, player's club doctor and AFL medical commissioner advised. Suspended sanction of six matches applied. More intense counselling and target testing.
Strike 3 - player is "deemed to have engaged in conduct unbecoming'' and ordered to appear before the AFL tribunal. Faces a suspension of up to 12 matches - PLUS the six-match suspended sentence for a maximum of 18 matches. The suspended $5000 sanction is also imposed.
* Strikes lapse after a four-year period.
* Subsequent offences - minimum 12-match suspensions apply for each offence.

Has enormous ability :lol you stupid boy. Well he has never shown it playing football, maybe sucking on a crack pipe he has enormous ability.
He is history, if you dont learn after 2 strikes well the 3rd one is your job. Dont keep druggies in the workforce. They cost peoples lives working next to them.
l dont feel any pity for drug addicts. make a example out of him.
the 3 strike policy is in place to help them. He has refused to help himself so he should be made a example.
l can name alot more players in the festing drug scene of the AFL. Its been rife for years. Time to stamp it out.
-
We don't know if he hasn't tried to get help. This could be a relapse of his addiction. Travis was obviously one of the two two-strikers the AFL mentioned earlier this year out of the 12 with at least one strike.
The AFL though may throw the book at him as an example and to look tough on drugs. If Travis is banned for 16 weeks then footy can't abandon him. He obviously needs help and treatment for his drug addiction just as Cuz did. You've got to feel for Shane, Michael and the rest of the Tuck family.
-
No Sympathy at all, time to stamp drugs out of the game.
If the AFL was serious on drugs they will end this addicts AFL career
oh BTW l can tell you 100% he has been given a load of help but refuses to help himself.
-
If they wanted to stamp drugs out of the game they'd ban Pie fans from going to games :lol
Seriously though Travis is obviously a drug addict so can he help himself? Rational thinking goes out of the window when an addict is craving their next hit.

Well sorry but there are no excuses. The support out there these days is huge & has been for decades. The young people these days thrive on drugs & think they are indestructable. l hope he is being charged also for driving under the influence of drugs & charged with using drugs. We have scrapped youngsters off the roads many times through drugs & thats not counting those who survive. l'm just glad he was caught now before he killed some innocent person, someones mother, father, sister or brother. l hope he now see's the light & gives him fight to overcome his addiction before he dies from his drug addiction. It will not be long before the 1st AFL player dies on the ground from complications of drug abuse.
You got to be a very fit & strong person to make it onto the ground being a drug user. Only problem is the methods they use to elude testers is fast catching upto all users. The AFL will be increasing testing next season. Maybe they should also start testing the umpires & some who hold positions in the AFL because of the stupid decisions made. & test the MRP cause something is amiss with them ;D

That is slop on a plate TM....

No evidence he was driving the car, no reports keys weer in ignition or a warm motor. He probably went to his car for shelter.

That's actually the scariest part and how easily he could have been found dead in the car. Doing drugs on his lonesome rather than the stereotypical party junkie using GBH.

so how many weeks has he copped?

Lets get something pretty clear.
a) You don't know me, stop claiming you do and stop claiming stuff that I've achieved.
b) Stop trying to arrange a meeting, I have no intention of meeting you.
c) I and everyone one here hopefully will refuse to believe some flog who knows the Ablett and Tuck family "very well" is subject to extremely private family issues of one of their relatives. This sort of issue isn't something that's talked about at a pub champ. No-one in teh family would leak these private issues. You would have been better off lieing about knowing someone from Hawthorn or who parties with Tuck instead of lieing about hearing it from one of the Ablett or Tuck family. - That sir is just dumb.

12 weeks all up.
6 weeks suspension for the 2nd strike
6 further weeks suspension for the 3rd strike
He was fined $5000 but due to exceptional circumstances he doesn't have to pay the fine.
He has to attend rehab plus any psych treatment as required/needed. Suffering from clinical depression. Drug use not "recreational" but a byproduct of his clinical depression.
Will be able to play State league level footy after 8 weeks.
Can stay on the AFL rookie list.

I dont rate Riewoldt for our future at all. Cleve Hughes will take his forward position or will venture elsewhere and be a better player. Jack is lazy
l was one who said Rewoldt was weak & going backwards & with his attitude is going nowhere.
Yeah...... keep swinging TM you'll get there...
Its sad to read jealousy about playing rep junior footy... its hardly something to be jealous about. But I'm glad it upsets you..

digging up old posts about Rewoldt to what make you feel better
Hughes has ventured elsewhere as l stated if he didnot take the FF spot & Rewoldt was very lazy & had a bad attitude at the time l posted so because you bring up old posts does it have a 10 year date on it, everyone down the club knows that :rollin so his played half a good season & won a medal lol just prey he continues his form cause it will be bad for him if he dont. it wont make any difference to you cause your a forum troll who copy & pastes others posts :lol
l played higher than TAC why would l be jealous of someone who is not playing football at your age :lol :shh
BTW l still playing seniors nowdays, does that make you feel jealous :lol l hope not cause l play for the love of the game & for no-one else

Yep while punishing him for the drug use, footy is supporting him for the mental illness which is good to see rather than chucking him on the scrapheap on his own.
Suffering from severe clinical depression and not just using the drugs for "fun" also explains why he was on his lonesome in the car.
The Hawks aren't happy though they weren't aware of Travis being on two strikes and up to 48 hours ago also apparently unaware of his clinical depression.

Refuse to believe you know intimate medical details of Travis Tuck refusing help in a drug addiction, and I hope no1 else does. Stupid and insulting to insinuate it.
Say all you like TM, I played the same year for Ranges, with Travis, Matthew Bate, Fabian Deluca and Chris Knights if you want names you'll recognize. I played KP backline.
I'm not hiding from some forum nobody cause I'm worried he'll expose my "lies" lol, how would you intend to do that exactly lol?
From what I've read on the forum you seem like putrid company and thus never intend meeting you.
Why should I have to be playing footy now? Cause I played U/18 footy? Lol.. How well do you really claim to know football??.. Plenty of players drafted, no longer play football in the mid 20's after getting delisted lol... Training was the reason I stopped playing footy, I lost interest in working my towards something that was never going to happen. Local football didn't interest me at all. Stop bringing this up, it's honestly embarrassing and is irrelevant to a Richmond Forum.

This is the key. No one chooses to suffer depression and as such those addicts whose addiction (of any persuasion) is a result of the depression do not choose to be addicted.
You will never beat the addiction unless you can solve the problem of depression, something the medical community has trouble doing because they try to treat depression itself, rather than looking deeper into what causes the depression and treating that.

Trav was dropped from the Box Hill team the week before and took it bad. Very intraverted person. leave it at that

Just like you are professionaly involved with the AFL draft & with Eastern Ranges hahahaha what a joker your 23 years old no-one would pee on you down there boy & you certainly wouldnot stop playing football if you pushed to try make out with a TAC team.
As l said before & will remind you the nearest you got to TAC is watching Terry Leatherskin on TV on Sundays :lol
and now l'm finished with you your a imbecile

Quote from Popelord
I'm heavily involved professionally and personally with the AFL draft every year in terms of my involvement with the Eastern Ranges and Vic Metro so this is a little insight to how we run as a football team considering its very relevant as we need to build a team every 2-3 year
23 year old professional ::) you know poo

Stop with the childish bickering. This is a serious health, football and social issue.

Stop with the childish bickering. This is a serious health, football and social issue.
Well said.
The news tonight said Travis Tuck has put out a statement saying he takes full responsibility for what has happened. Hopefully with the suspension he re-seeks more treatment for his serious illness.
-
Stop with the childish bickering. This is a serious health, football and social issue.
thats right it is a serious issue. Its about time the AFL pulled itself into line with the world doping agency & banned players caught for drugs for 2 years. There are plenty of other youngsters who make sacrifices & do it hard trying to play football & school at the same time without using drugs who would cherish playing AFL football or any sport at a elite level for that fact.
Drugs are for people who dont like rules & regulations. Elite sports is for those who give 100% effort
Drugs are rife in the AFL but the people running the league are trying to cover it up.
l'm in favor of the 1 strike & out. this aint a baseball game. No excuse for drugs
-
TM, yr post has implied criticism of the player and his condition. I suggest you butt out until you are better informed.
It's not a time for recriminations.

My post & as many know l have been talking about drugs in football for years on forums & there is no excuse for people using drugs fullstop
Dont give me this depression bullcrap because depression is caused by drug addicts habits. Always the excuse l had depression & yep sure enough they have when they are made to face the problem & lose something they wont commit 100% too cause money & good times showing off to friends is exciting
l could write a list of current & former AFL footballers on drugs but l'm afraid forum rules prevent me from doing so.
l have however posted in PMs of several players who are drug addicts some years ago & hello.
Dont tell me to butt out of something l been strongly talking about for years & coached into kids, who are you to tell me until l'm better informed.

TM, yr post has implied criticism of the player and his condition. I suggest you butt out until you are better informed.
It's not a time for recriminations.
Dont give me this depression bullcrap because depression is caused by drug addicts habits.

Drug taking causes depression in drug addicts.
Drugs affect the brain
its a FACT medical records prove this ::)
you know what l done here l cant be bothered talking to some morons
-
Drug addiction can certainly cause all sorts of mental illness including depression but it's not true all people with depression are/were drug addicts ???. The way Travis' condition was reported he suffered severe clinical depression first and that then lead to his taking of drugs.

so you know for FACT that his drug taking led to depression. congratulations u got the scoop!
maybe u were with barret scumming around in the gutter

TM you're 100% wrong.
For starters drug taking is so vague you can't simply say drug taking results in depression.
Many people suffering depression resort to drug taking and abuse. Recreational drugs don't always start depression.
Many drug abusers aren't depressed at all, but possibly some will grow a depression through using drugs.
You've just shown you nothing about drug abuse nor depression.
How can some random (You) know of Travis' drug problems but his football club didn't. You say he was open about it yet Hawthorn are furious they weren't informed because they would have tried to help. It makes absolutely no sense that you claim to know about it and his football club didn't. To then suggest he's refused help, which has shown to be false cause he has been through a period of 10 months of rehabilitation stated by the AFL, is yet another dumb comment.
For the record try and stick to the topic and stop bringing up some incorrect fake post. I'm not 23, I'm 26 and I never said I was professionally involved with the AFL draft, find me the exact post I said this. You've taken a conversation out of context from when I we talked about the draft and my involvement with with Vic Metro, which was helping with training and conditioning, just as I did at Ranges. I'm sick of explaining this, absolutely sick of it. Stop bringing this up.

That's not a quote you stupid old man learn how to use a forum.
Drugs 100% cause depression is not a fact, it's not black and white. Stop making outlandish comments.. Not everyone that has taken drugs gets depressed..
It's a stupid comment.. It's like saying everyone who eats alot is fat..
You make so much crap up.. You lose
-
lets talk about your mental illness Doctor ;D it is Doctor tonight is it
can l call you Doc for short.
Listen to me watching Power Rangers on TV dont make you a Eastern Ranges boy :lol
Just for the record l do know how to use a forum to quote someone who is telling big furry fibs
I'm heavily involved professionally and personally with the AFL draft every year in terms of my involvement with the Eastern Ranges and Vic Metro so this is a little insight to how we run as a football team considering its very relevant as we need to build a team every 2-3 years to be competitive in the Under 18's.
RFC situation is similar to ours about 6-7 years ago where we thought we had a lot of talent that could take us along way that we foolishly kept more than 70% of teh list for another year. This cause the problem of top leveling our list to tilt it towards success and starving the development of younger talent that wouldn't perform as well at frst but give us teh opportunity in 3-4 years possibly that the current group would not as they woudl be too old. = This relates to the top heavy list that occured at RFC when Frawley left teh club.
I wont go into the specifics out of respect to our boys but relating it to the list RFC has at the present time our Remedy could possibly help the RFC turn it around. To back up our success Vic Metro won the TAC cup last year after our "remedy" that was bolstered by numerous Eastern Ranges players a total of 13 in the squad the highest the Ranges have ever fielded.
The Remedy:
Hard decision that need to be made that relate to what we did:
Players above (x) age that wont feature in the next success of the of club need to go.
Lets have RFC (x) age be 26.
Players that just need to go are:
Bowden
Johnson
Simmonds
Brown
Tuck
Richardson*
Cousins*
I believe that the last 2 have something to offer in terms of teaching younger kids how to play and they serve a good purpose. We kept 2-3 really experienced hard bodies to help out our 1st years. They unfortunately didn't taste success but are still remembered in the building phase.
The oldest player at the club next year should be Mark Coughlan.
We also need to trade for draft picks whilst in a phase of stacking youth. Be flooded with options. Raines, McGuane, Jackson, Graham, Schultz should all be flirted to GC for draft picks.
It's the remedy that we used and I think is really similar to RFC and could work. I must admit being a Tiger supporter since birth it really puzzles me how watery RFC are when it comes to studying the young kids. It's no surprise Collingwood have unearthed some guns cause they put so much time into coming to our games and studying our players. RFC's absence to me is always noticeable. I plead to you RFC to come and study the Under 18's a lot more especially in this time of need to get draft picks right.
Don't get me wrong the RFC reps can be seen thought the Under 18 carnivals they are simply no way near as involved as the other clubs have been recently well in the past 11 years I have been involved with Metro.
Being involved we certainly get asked the simple questions of whose the best runner, who has the best key position player, who has the best footy brain etc. But it kills me to give this information constantly to the likes of Collingwood and North Melbourne both clubs heavily involved with studying Under 18 players more so than other clubs in particular Richmond. It just unfortunately shows in our recruiting as I don't see enough work been done on our end of things in comparison to other clubs.
I regards to our remedy the question we asked ourselves for each player offloaded.
What can be gained in terms of team success with this player?
Regarding all players above 28 I hate to say that unfortunately short term success is just not possible as our younger brigade have not developed quick enough (not saying tehy wont be ready at 25/26 years of age) thus these older players have just missed out on being apart of team success. So we need to free there spots up on the list for players that will be at the club in 3-10 years times time when success is possible.

Sigh.
I'm over this, I stand by everything Ive said..
I doubt that anyone reads the slop you write anymore, if anyone is interested and the probably aren't follow the quote link and read the thread in full and you'll read that it make sense in context.. If you think being involved with Vic Metro is NOT being involved with the AFL draft professionally in a small way then that's fine, I couldn't care less.
I'm done arguing with you, you've failed to back up how u knew Travis personal issues before and without Hawthorn FC knowing, you've talked crap about drugs always causing depression not backed it up an chaned the topic to slop...
I think all our IQs drop when we read your posts..
I won't be replying any more for everyones sake. Stick to the topic..
