If we win next week you might want to start seriously thinking about your plans for september , it makes me kinda fuzzy thinking about it am really looking forward to the Carlton , Essendon return matches and hopefully repaying these pricks some misery . God the crap we have endured makes days like this just stuffing supreme

Lids really needs to take Hayes or Dal Santo to task, must plat attacking defensive football.
Morris must take Milne and harass the crap out of him, frustrate him until he cracks.....
Rance on Riewoldt!

I'd put Lids on Goddard. Worked well last year. :thumbsup

Yep true, but Lids has improved out of sight and I don't think Goddard is as damaging as the other two these days.

Yep! It's been nearly 10 years of mostly floggings, a couple of close ones, and being ripped off by the scumpires in a draw most recently. To say that the time has come to finally get this monkey off our backs is an understatement. I want us to pin the damned dirty ape to the ground, and kick its' brains in!!!! :gotigers

Use Griffs booming kicks out of defence to break up the saints predictable flooding tactics will rattle this mob.

Now hear me out here before the instinctive 'attack' response is triggered............having watched the replay of yesterday's game and from observations over the last few weeks I think Ellis should be given a rest. I don't doubt his courage or potential ability or the great efforts he has put in so far this year, however, he does fumble and 'sell' others into trouble too much for my liking at this stage. Give him a couple of weeks rest, and have him ready for a tilt at the second half of the year and bring in.......this is the controversial bit......one, Dan Connors. Dan is someone who can play in any position if 'on-song' and has been amongst the best at Coburg this year. I personally believe that he could bring out those 'Stevie J' qualities he has in the current set-up and turn games in an instant. Ok, whack away.

Punters can’t split the Tigers and St Kilda for this Friday night’s game, with both teams starting at $1.90 with online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au.
“The Tigers have been on a roll but it will be interesting to see if they can back it up two weeks in a row, so we can’t split the teams at this stage,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Shaun Anderson.
“The Tiger army is up and about so we expect them to get behind their team this week, so the Tigers could start as favourites by game day.”

Didn't matter were on the right side of the ground and will have a decent view.
Would prefer saints to be favourites, I almost feel like we will be apollo creed taking on ivan drago... That is the players feel the hype or not

New-look Richmond Tigers target St Kilda
by: Greg Denham
From: The Australian
May 29, 2012
RICHMOND hasn't beaten St Kilda in nine years but a morale-boosting win over Hawthorn has Damien Hardwick's Tigers primed for a crack at the top eight.
It was the first time under Hardwick's watch that the Tigers had beaten the Hawks and now they are mounting a realistic challenge for finals action.
Richmond has not beaten St Kilda in 14 games, its most recent victory coming at the Docklands Stadium (now Etihad) in round four, 2003, by 26 points.
The Tigers, who last made the finals in 2001, got close last year when the two clubs fought out a 95-point apiece draw at the MCG.
The only current Richmond player to have beaten the Saints while wearing the yellow and black is captain Chris Newman.
The win over the Hawks was also the first time under Hardwick in 53 games that the Tigers outscored their opposition in all four quarters.
With four wins and five losses this season, Richmond is two points in arrears to where it was at the corresponding time last year, but with a far superior percentage - 110.6 to 91.24 - indicating the club's competitive improvement from 12 months ago.
Richmond general manager of football operations, Craig Cameron, said yesterday his club faced a new challenge "almost" on a weekly basis.
"With the competition so even and competitive, we can't allow our form to wane because every week produces another challenge," Cameron said.
"We've been happy with some of the areas we've improved in, but four wins is still below where we want to be.
"Everyone here realises the work still in front of us, and that includes Friday night where it will be almost a new generation of players since we've beaten them."
Last week's late withdrawal, Jake Batchelor, appears certain to be recalled after he damaged an ankle in a freak accident last Thursday night.
The defender turned his ankle when he got his foot caught on a tram track.
"He probably would have played had we played on Sunday," Cameron said.
However, key defender Dylan Grimes appears likely to miss another three weeks due to a round-eight hamstring strain.
Richmond hosts Fremantle in round 11 at the MCG, then plays the Giants at Skoda Stadium before its mid-season bye.
The Tigers' encouraging start to the season has been reflected in record membership figures which continue to swell.
Richmond yesterday had 49,300 signed members, and it expects to pass its budgeted figure of 50,000 by next week.
The club has attracted the third biggest membership in Victoria, behind Collingwood and Hawthorn, and has already smashed the previous record of 47,625.
Apart from a blistering midfield, a tighter defence and the welcome addition of former Adelaide ruckman Ivan Maric, Hardwick put part of the club's upward spiral down to blue-collar midfielder Shane Tuck. He plays his 150th game this week, almost two years after he was put on the trade table.
"He has been fantastic," Hardwick said.
"Probably the thing he has worked enormously hard on is the defensive side of his game."
The coming of age of the Tigers' back line has restricted opposition scores to an average of 87 points, well down on the 108 they conceded on a weekly basis in 2011.

I think the aints are favorites but I think this is their 3rd game of a six day break so hopefully it starts to catch up to them.

My highlight for this game will be Morris smashing Milne. Finally we have someone capable of silencing the little twirp. A nicely placed hip and shoulder with more shoulder than hip should do the trick. :thumbsup

Hopefully when Milne is staging for a free we will hear Rancey say "you weak prick". ;D

Agreed Coach. That would be a sweet moment. But from past experience, I don't think Frodo has much of a conscience and would simply respond to that comment with "That's how I roll". For mine actions speak louder than words and a nice bit of "sticks and stones" would have a nice ring to it.

LIVE CHAT: Tigers in the hunt against Saints' seasoned campaigners
From: Herald Sun
May 29, 2012 11:09AM
RICHMOND will be looking to shore up its 'contenders' tag against St Kilda in Friday night's blockbuster at Etihad Stadium.
But can the young Tigers' midfield laden with talent match it with the Saints' seasoned campaigners?
Who picks up Trent Cotchin, Dustin Martin and Shane Tuck? What about the Saints' spiritual leader Lenny Hayes, Nick Dal Santo, Leigh Montagna and Brendan Goddard?
Fox Sports tactics guru David King will look at those match-ups and more ahead of the highly anticipated clash expected to attract a sellout crowd.
CHAT LIVE WITH KINGY FROM NOON BELOW:

The AFL website is tipping the Saints :P
Preview: St Kilda v Richmond
By Luke Holmesby and Paul Daffey
Tue 29 May, 2012
WHERE AND WHEN: Etihad Stadium, Friday June 1, 7.50pm
LAST TIME: Richmond 13.17 (95) drew with St Kilda 14.11 (95), round two, 2011 at Etihad Stadium
Both these teams are starting to be taken seriously by the football world after impressive wins last week. The Tigers had shown plenty of promise before recent wins over the Swans and Hawks gave weight to their finals aspirations.
Richmond is looking solid all around the ground and is playing with an intensity and competitiveness that Damien Hardwick has worked hard to instill. The Saints are also showing signs that their coach's message is getting through. It is a far different team under Scott Watters than we have seen before and St Kilda is playing with a flair that has not been evident in recent seasons.
THE FOUR POINTS
ST KILDA
1. The Saints haven't lost to Richmond since April, 2003 but that streak counts for little, as these are two different teams to what we have become accustomed to seeing. The Saints came close to dropping the previous encounter against the Tigers and know they are coming up against a Richmond team with more self-belief and form than at any time in the past decade.
2. St Kilda's VFL team Sandringham didn't play last week but the Saints have a few contenders pushing for senior selection. The highest profile of these is Adam Schneider, who is yet to play a senior match this year after battling a hamstring injury. How he fits in to a forward line that already has Stephen Milne, Ahmed Saad and Terry Milera is a predicament for the selection committee.
3. Sam Gilbert was one of his team's best players over the Grand Final years of 2009 and 2010 but he has been inconsistent ever since. His disposal can be a bit wayward and he has appeared indecisive at times when gathering the ball - both of which are signs that his confidence levels are low. Whether the Saints choose to try him up the ground, give him a stint with Sandringham or persevere with him in the back half remains to be seen.
4. The Saints come into this game on the back of their third consecutive six-day break. Clubs find it difficult to manage one shortened break but three in a row is testing. St Kilda faded towards the end of last week's win over the Swans and might be starting to get a bit weary.
RICHMOND
1. The fact that this match is billed as the biggest game of the round is an overdue development, as the two clubs have rarely played big matches against each other. Their history includes only three finals: the 1939 first semi-final (won by St Kilda), the 1971 preliminary final (St Kilda) and the 1973 first semi-final (Richmond). The form and prospects of both teams suggest a healthy rivalry could yet develop.
2. Not so long ago, Hardwick wondered whether Alex Rance would make it as an AFL footballer. But now Rance has developed into one of the best defenders in the game. The 21-year-old has had an average of 21 disposals a match, the second most of a key defender behind only Fremantle's Michael Johnson. Last Saturday he blanketed Hawthorn star Lance Franklin in a performance that made the football world realise what Richmond fans have known for a while.
3. Rance's preference to play on the last line of defence means he's likely to play on Justin Koschitzke. The job on Nick Riewoldt, therefore, is likely to fall to Ben Griffths, who last week played his first AFL game of the season. The Richmond hierarchy has high hopes for the athletic Griffiths. The scalp of Riewoldt would validate those hopes.
4. St Kilda, with its ruck problems, has picked the wrong time to run into the Richmond juggernaut, Ivan Maric. Maric's competitiveness has been one of the main reasons behind Richmond's rise from one of the worst clearance teams in 2011 to one of the best. Last week, against Hawthorn, he played his best game of his short tenure at Punt Rd, with his marking a notable feature. The Saints' makeshift ruckman, Jason Blake, has a large job ahead of him.
AFL.com.au prediction: St Kilda by 14 points

Agree CD, just watching AFL 360 on Fox, we haven't beaten the Saints since 2003... FFS... Also lots left on the free agency list.
Cloke, Goddard, mitchell, montagna, Johnson and Stanton.....they reckon most will stay with their clubs....but maybe Goddard....
-
Jamar and a few more from the Dees, Ess.., lov Murray, monfries and Stanton, last two restricted.
Hayes, kos, Gwilt, Milne,
gee sorry the lists from other clubs is too long, we must get at least two....Minson..young....God massive list
-
big opportunity to beat potentially 3 top 8 sides in a season since god knows when probably 2001. that is if syd, stkilda and hawthorn make the 8.
the game i really want to win is the adelaide game they are almost guaranteed a top 4 finish and i cant remember the last time we beat an eventual top 4 team.
our tougher games are stkilda, nm, carlton, wb, freo in perth especially if we have injuries. essendon, shame we dont get a crack at collingwood again id love to kick their arses in an important game. beat carlton, essendon and stkilda and prove something.
4 or 5 wins against the top sides would say something very loud and clear. we can match it with the best and beat em.
im getting in early though. no matter how many we win i still believe we must have a minor clean out this yr 5 or 6 nd picks and 2 or 3 mature types is a must and a minimum. do this and recruit well and even i will go away and leave everyone in peace.
-
Jamar will stay, has openly declared he wants too
Clokes are just manuevering for more $$, he'll def stay.
Boak is the one I would have the biggest crack at, then Stanton but no way he'll go. Goddard would be a great get, but cant really see that happening. Which Johnson is that? the freo one?

Wow Claw, you could be onto something here, Imagine if the club had been pro active and had copied your idea for the past 3 seasons!! We may have actually delisted 30 odd players and recruited a few more Mature aged player to help out! O'h that's right we actually did :wallywink :wallywink

I will put my head on the chopping block and say the saints to win by the slimmist of margins only because of the bloody poohole ground we are playing at if it was at the G i wouldn't hesitate to pick the boys.... Having said that i think if any team loses a man early it will decide the outcome both sides are good flowing teams and rotations are pivotal.. stuff i hope i am wrong and we smash em feel free to rub it in because i will be too happy to care :)

There's a difference between confidence and disgusting arrogance.
-
Starting to dread this game. I remember heading into round 7 thinking Sydney and Hawthorn (considering their form) were the winnables, and dropping Essendon. So far all week it has been fun having every show on Fox talking Richmond, but it was just one very good and well deserved win but winning this game will be the real announcement. I'm not dreading losing (pretty used to that by now :lol), but dreading the thought of getting excited over what was just another false dawn :(
-
There's a difference between confidence and disgusting arrogance.
Exactly,
I'm confident its a 50/50 contest
I'm also confident that if we play to our structures, get our matchups right and play consistent footy we will win. But just because we have not beaten them for nine years coupled with the fact we are playing better now than years of recent doesn't add up to an automatic win (as romantic as it sounds). If anything the pressure is on us yet again.
I'm going to the game and would love to see us win, but they will not give in easily I can assure you

why? Just out of curiosity ;)
Richmond’s players will wear special-edition warm-up tops this Friday night at Etihad Stadium to support National Buddy Day.
National Buddy Day is an initiative of The Alannah and Madeline Foundation, a national charity that keeps children safe from violence and its devastating impact, which recently became the Tigers’ preferred charity partner.
The purple and yellow warm-up tops, individually signed by the players participating in Friday’s match against St Kilda, will be available for bidding at Tigerland Auctions after the match.

Well we might as well not turn up on Friday night given Spud Frawley reckons the Saints can win the flag this year :wallywink

Agree with eat em alive. It will be a tough match. They have a good hard at it midfield and have a reasonably good forwardline and Fisher in Defence. This game will, like last week turn, on who wins the midfield battle.

I thought Fisher was out injured?
:huh

Fisher wont play
Has re injured his hammy, wont play for another 2-3 weeks

And who has ever given a rats clacker what spud said lol

Starting to dread this game. I remember heading into round 7 thinking Sydney and Hawthorn (considering their form) were the winnables, and dropping Essendon. So far all week it has been fun having every show on Fox talking Richmond, but it was just one very good and well deserved win but winning this game will be the real announcement. I'm not dreading losing (pretty used to that by now :lol), but dreading the thought of getting excited over what was just another false dawn :(
Why if we lose is it another false dawn. No one wins every game. If we dont win it doesnt mean the whole things gone to tihs it just means that we were beaten on one night. I hope we win, but if we dont its not the end of the world. We have a long way to go we aint even in the eight yet.

Remember Dan was "Dan the Man" before the Sydney incident, he went off the rails but has fought back and certainly can play his time will come, maybe this week

Yes Ellis could have a 'rest' in the 2nds this week but it will be more than likely to make way for Batchelor's return. I'm no palm reader but I can't see Mini Maric being dropped after only one game... :-\

Yeah I get you :thumbsup, but I'm just worried if we lose it will be because we've gone back to the old ways. It will be a good test to see how we go under pressure to perform, as the better you get the more pressure you receive, and good teams deal with it.

Sportal is tipping us to win :thumbsup
WE THINK:
Richmond have been threatening for a month or so to pull off a big win like they did against Hawthorn last week. The Tigers simply destroyed the Hawks, leading all day and winning every quarter as they put in a genuine four-quarter performance. Hardwick will now want to see them to prove it wasn't a one-off.
The Tigers have had a tough start to the season. Friday night's match against the Saints will mean Richmond have played every top-eight team from 2011 in the first 10 rounds. In their remaining 13 matches, they play teams that are currently outside the finals' positions nine times. A win against St Kilda will give the Tigers plenty of momentum for the rest of the campaign.
Having moved into the eight, the Saints are also on the up and Friday night's match will be an interesting contest to see which of the two teams are serious finals contenders.
St Kilda will take genuine home-ground advantage at Etihad Stadium, where they have won 11 of their last 14 games at the venue, while the Tigers have lost four straight there.
Ivan Maric could be the difference between the two sides. The former Adelaide ruckman is in the top five in the AFL for hit-outs, while the Saints' two best players in that statistic, McEvoy and Stanley, are injured.
If Maric can give the likes of Cotchin, Nathan Foley and Shane Tuck first use of the ball, St Kilda could be chasing all night. Either way, a tough contest is expected as neither side shirks the rough stuff.
Richmond by 11 points.

If Ellis or anyone else for that matter is to be dropped this week for a "rest" in wont to the 2nds or VFL as Coburg has the bye this week after last weeks pointless state game.
Pretty pathetic scheduling by AFL Vic. Means a lot of blokes don't play for 3 weeks.
Also means IMO unlikely to be many changes this week

When I referred to Ellis having a rest WP I actually meant a week away from footy - this is the usual tack clubs take with 1st year players. So this week or the GWS game leading up to the bye would be ideal.

im getting in early though. no matter how many we win i still believe we must have a minor clean out this yr 5 or 6 nd picks and 2 or 3 mature types is a must and a minimum. do this and recruit well and even i will go away and leave everyone in peace.
Wow Claw, you could be onto something here, Imagine if the club had been pro active and had copied your idea for the past 3 seasons!! We may have actually delisted 30 odd players and recruited a few more Mature aged player to help out! O'h that's right we actually did :wallywink :wallywink
oh i see you think we have a premiership list then. wow. :o
you obviously rate jackson nahas white webberley king connors, browne graham derickx edwards mcguane miller macdonald moore, exactly what has that lot done to get us where we are which by the way is outside the 8, we havent actually achieved a thing yet but you wouldnt know it on here. you obviously think newman and tuck will be around for 3 or more yrs as well. you obviously think wright darrou maric turner verrier heslin all rookies will make it. you must think every single pick we have taken will make it. i wonder who the smuck is.
you dont think we need to cut gain because we cut deep in two out of three drafts holy shemoly batman that is wondrous.
we cut a fair few in previous yrs and according to you we dont need to do it again. or is that post just you trying to be a smart arse. i reckon the former . there are no poor players at richmond according to you we have a premiership team.

First of all, FFS if you want people to read your posts at least do them the courtesy of using basic punctuation. Is that too much to ask? Start a f@#king new sentence with a capital letter for Geez sake.
Secondly, please think before you write, case in point - the list of players you have contributed above. Of course not all players on a clubs list are going to be champions. In the modern day it just can't happen (you know Salary Caps and the like). Also Derickx (from your list of so called abismal players above) is who you are currently calling to put in the team at Vickory's expense. So what is it? He's crap or he should be playing on merit?
Lastly, dude stop pumping up your own tires and telling us all what a great football mind you have. All available empirical evidence says it just isn't true.

We have been trying to get Claw to do this for years. He has improved, at least he now basically knows what to with paragraphs and full stops.
Back in the old days we would just get one great big slab of text, no capitals, no full stops and no paragraphs.
It was very hard to read.

All aboard the Tiger bandwagon
Paul Gough, Betting Editor
Sportal
1/6/2012
Richmond coach Damien Hardwick might be keen to keep the lid on the growing hype surrounding his much-improved Tigers, but his club's army of success-starved fans are not listening.
Instead the Tiger army is coming from everywhere to back their team in Friday night's AFL match-of-the-round clash against St Kilda at Etihad Stadium.
Centrebet's Michael Felgate said while the Saints are $1.80 favourites for the clash with the Tigers at $2, it has been the underdogs who have dominated betting.
"The money has been three to one for Richmond," he said.
"The Yellow and Black army is certainly starting to arouse from its slumber."
TAB Sportsbet also has the Saints $1.80 favourites with Richmond at $2, but at sportsbet.com.au both sides opened as $1.90 equal favourites.
Shaun Anderson of sportsbet.com.au said the Tigers have attracted slightly more bets than the Saints and if that trend continues could end up starting favourites.

Paper Tiger
By Paul Daffey
afl.com.au
Fri 01 Jun, 2012
IT'S NOT quite Collingwood v Hawthorn at Victoria Park — the Hawks entered the VFL in 1925 but failed to win at Collingwood's home ground until they fell in by a point in 1960.
But Richmond's current hoodoo against St Kilda is bleak by modern standards.
The Tigers have failed to defeat St Kilda since round four, 2003. They've lost all 10 of their games against the Saints at Etihad Stadium.
Even the draw between the teams at the MCG in round two last season is laced with pain.
The Tigers came so close — and yet Chris Newman, who played in the 2003 match, remains the only current Tiger to have enjoyed the sensation of playing in a Richmond victory over St Kilda.
Besides the draw, the closest the Tigers have come to defeating the Saints during this period of darkness was in round seven, 2008.
St Kilda went into the match in ninth position on the ladder with a 3-3 record after an unconvincing start to its second season under coach Ross Lyon.
Richmond, under fourth-year coach Terry Wallace, was 10th with two wins and a draw.
Both teams needed a win to confirm that they were on track for the finals.
The Tigers won all the statistical indicators. They had more inside 50s (54-40) and they won more clearances (42-26). The contested possession differential was a whopping 53 in favour of the Tigers. Richmond should have won in a canter.
If not for wasteful disposal, they surely would have.
The scoreboard, however, tells of an even contest. The Saints led by three points at quarter-time and Richmond led by 11 points at half-time.
St Kilda kicked five unanswered goals early in the third quarter before Richmond replied with three straight of their own.
The Saints were struck a blow when captain Nick Riewoldt injured his knee during a tackle by Richmond defender Luke McGuane in the quarter. He would take no further part in the match.
Robert Harvey, the 36-year-old champion midfielder, pulled one back for the Saints in the shadow of three-quarter time.
Richmond led by a point at the final break.
Stephen Milne was on fire for the Saints while 33-year-old Matthew Richardson was galloping around like a colt for the Tigers.
Richo kicked a goal to open the last quarter. Milne kicked two for the Saints.
Charlie Gardiner kicked another for the Saints.
Richo booted one for the Tigers. Nathan Brown snapped a brilliant goal for the Tigers at the 17-minute mark.
Milne provided the final salvo for the Saints. His major at the 23-minute mark was his third for the quarter and his seventh for the match.
The Saints were four points ahead.
The ball travelled from end to end in a thrilling finish as both teams tried to conjure a goal.
Richmond defender Kelvin Moore had the chance to steal the match with one minute remaining. His set shot from 45 metres out dead in front hit the left goalpost.
The Saints were ahead by three points.
From the kick-out, St Kilda gained possession on the wing and the Tigers' hopes looked forlorn.
But with seconds left, Richmond midfielder Nathan Foley emerged with the ball and steadied before kicking in the direction of 19-year-old full-forward Jack Riewoldt.
Riewoldt flew above a pack to take the mark. He went back to take his kick as the siren rang. He was outside the 50-metre arc at half-forward.
It was a tough shot, especially for a teenager in his 12th game. There appeared only a slight chance of him getting the distance.
Riewoldt was shattered when his kick failed to reach the goalline. He sank to his knees as teammates moved in to commiserate.
His cousin, St Kilda's Nick, emerged from the bench to comfort him.
As it happened, Jack Riewoldt's seven marks and one goal had confirmed that the Tigers might finally have a successor to Richo deep in attack.
Richardson's game confirmed his extraordinary early-season form. He took 13 marks and had 22 disposals while roaming between the wing and full-forward.
He finished with five goals.
The excitement didn't end there. As the dust settled, it was revealed that the timekeepers had sounded the siren 14 seconds too early.
At the time, Wallace cursed the lost seconds and urged the AFL to take measures to ensure such a mistake wouldn't happen again.
Recalling the match this week, Wallace said those seconds might have made all the difference.
Riewoldt might have been able to pick out a loose teammate inside 50. That player would have had a shot closer to goal.
Even so, Wallace said Richmond had had their chances to win but had blown them.
"It was a lost opportunity," he said.
"We'd completely smashed them in the contested ball area and, from memory, clearances.
"I remember talking to a match committee member after the game saying this one would come back to bite us — and it did."
Richmond's loss momentarily curtailed its momentum. In the second half of the season it surged to win eight of its last 11 games.
The Tigers missed out on the finals by half a game, finishing ninth.
St Kilda went on to win 13 games and finish fourth.
Wallace this week recalled his initial reaction after the three-point loss to the Saints.
"I thought, 'Are we ever going to beat this mob?'"

-
Too late, he already has eight possies but two were absolute howlers!
-
Lucky crybaby is a bad kick for goal.

Two holds without the ball not paid ::)
-
We need to be more precise on the attack and tighten up on the defense. Simple stuff really. Still have a good vibe about the outcome.
-
Ellis you're better than that :P.
-
Kingy's mark not paid :banghead
-
Thanks ump your tool :banghead. Saints run it down for a goal,

St Kilda 3.4 9.6-60
Goals: Riewoldt 5, Edwards 2, Tuck, Deledio

Dunno abt this one ladies and gents, just something about how easily they are scoring from nowhere near the sme amount of chances as us has me worried, they capitalize on errors and also have class to kick some nice goals, we need to cut out our silly errors otherwise they will grind us down. Been a cracking game but it's being played on their terms, not ours
Their small fwds are causing us grief, saad especially(htf was this guy not picked up? GUN!) but the tip rat has also looked dangerous. Will our captain stand up and actually stop one of these guys instead of leaving it to the likes of Morris, conca, Ellis and batchelor who have less games combined than he does alone, stand up and do a job ffs!!
-
Bloody great game, must win, run then off their legs...
-
Statistically have owned it.
Just need to tighten and sharpen up.
Class will rise to the forefront.

-
We need more from Vickery and a little more team
Orientated play from Dusty. Mini Marric could be a wild card for us in the second half.
-
Also Houli and Martin.
-
Yep agreed, Vicks started well, but 2 shanks in a row put paid to his night, hasn't touchedit since
Shed looking pretty good for 3 rd week in a row, need more from king and nahas and I don't just mean goals, their defensive efforts need to lift!
-
Our tackle count is low. Just 15 in an hour of footy and 10 Tigers haven't laid one tackle (that's half the bloody team :P ). Our defensive pressure across the ground isn't where it needs to be and we're getting caught on transition. Of course it doesn't help when we are making dumb mistakes.
You're right Dookie about class will rise to the top. Dusty has been ordinary trying the 'don't argue' too much and handballing too much instead of just kicking it. We've got a hot FF and we're overusing the ball by hand. Cotch and Lids were quiet that quarter too. Need all 3 to lift and need to shut down their small forwards. We look the classier side but we can't gift them goals being too cute.
-
Argh Dusty. That was soft.
Point.

Mentally soft I mean. That;s better from Dusty anyway.

First half....kick the ball long into forward 50, Jack kicks 5 goals.
Second half.....kick little 25 meter chips to half forward, Jack kicks 0 goals.
-
Geez is this a game or what?
Reckon we went up a gear that quarter, threatened to blow the game wide open and credit to the saints who came back hard and stopped our run, started forcing us to kick it long to contests.
Time to activate maric? Who for?
-
Really poor last 10 mins. Went back to being sloppy and making dumb mistakes and allowed the game to slip back onto St Kilda terms after we got our to a 20 point lead. Luckily they kicked 6 points straight.
Interesting to see when Dimma uses mini Maric. Add some speed when both sides get tired.
-
We just can't lose..we just can't
-
Who do we all think will be subbed?
-
Time to activate maric? Who for?
Could be a tall (Vickery) although then Ivan has to ruck alone. We took off Ellis last week for mini Maric.

That centre square ump I'm gonna kill him another free!

our defensive efforts tonight were diabolical. some of the mistakes we made gifting them goals left right and centre, failing to kick the ball but instead handballing incessantly... its a crap performance. The umpires they were crap as well. we should have won by 8 goals tonight.

Hardwick wont be happy with how the team played. Still that we could make that many mistakes and still win is a very good sign. We have a way to go still and the 4 points is in the bag. Let the bandwagon continue to roll on ;D

Great win against 25 (pathetic umps) . Maric for BOG for me and we didnt play great and still won, thats what the good sides do. :gotigers :gotigers :gotigers

-
gee it was a great win. It reminded me of the Bombers win against us.
We came at them then they kicked away.
The pressure was intense that's why there were mistakes. Outside of jackson i cant fault anyone.
Maric. Best ruckman ive seen at Punt Road since i watched the general as a kid. He not only saves games he influences them
I couldnt care less if we won by 1, but shouldve won by 100. Facts are we are starting to beat sides that have ridiculed us for years. Not much satisfying that beaten this pathetic football club.
-
Anyone know the severity of Foleys injury?
-
Just relieved to get over the line....PHEWWWWWW.
-
No voice...lid is off...that crowd reaction was epic!!!
-
I thought we looked the classier side all up and had more players capable of breaking the game open. We just kept making dumb goal-costing turnovers from overusing the footy in the middle of the ground. It was hard to tell from the TV but it seemed we struggled at times coping with the Saints having an extra man behind the ball. When we had the ball we'd look up and see the Saints with the numbers upfield and then try to maintain possession which we often didn't under pressure.
Anyone know the severity of Foleys injury?
A bruised hell according to the match reports Gigantor. Hopefully Axel is okay :pray.

Thanxs mighty tiges

Just about to watch the replay, bloody great win, best win for years...couldn't care less how much we should of won by .......we won and we won well.
Great game for a few of our players too.

We played well enough to beat them :lol Thats what l call a good win when you beat them & the umpires
:gotigers
Nick Rewoldt is the umpires pet & the biggest sook in football.
-
Know how you feel monkey :cheers
While not aesteically pleasing as the hawks win, it was probably a better win. The way we withstood their pressure was so satisfying (not bad for a team with a loser mentality)
It was concerning in the first half how we would dominate play but they were able to crack us open and score easily, but we improved that in the second half.
It was a gutsy and satisfying win.
:gotigers
-
Gee tell you what, that Sard from the Saints.....would love him as a small forward..

Unfortunately, bruised heals take a long time to do just that. Hope it is just precautionary.

Awesome game, that game showed me we play a style that IS finals football, fastest game i've seen the tigers play in since forever. i was a bit worried in the last because i thought our younger bodies were getting tired but geez they did well.. The structures stood up..
-
Thought the Saints were going to run over us in the last. We looked a little tired at the end of the third. Nevertheless we dug deep and what was pleasing after Nick starting sooking and got a few frees because the other kids were too rough and that Dal Santo non holding the ball we recovered composure regained the lead and held on. Stirring stuff. :thumbsup
-
Good
morning afternoon, what a great day to be alive!
Make no bones about it remember that game as the day
the TIGER awoke.

Gee Milne had a good game. :lol :lol :rollin Morrie kept him quieter than a Chernobyl strip mall. ;D
Really pleased with that win. The game was played at a high intensity from go to whoa!! Sure there were a few fundamental skill errors but we proved to be mentally tough enough to lift when it counted. Umps crucified us also.
Big performances from I Maric, Jack, Cotch, Lids & Foley. Tucky was a little quiet on previous efforts but he was still doing job.
I really liked Shed's game. Especially that moment after a goal where an unsuspecting Jones was standing there looking like a stunned mullet and Shane gave him a nice friendly bump to remind him of where he is and who he is playing. :thumbsup
Also Really pleased with how Griffiths is progressing. Really adds height to our backline and his disposal by hand and foot is very good. Ellis also is going very well. Batch looked a little rusty but he will be better for the run.
-
What a great game and great night, the atmosphere was awesome and made me proud to be a Tiger supporter. Well done to the team and whole Tiger army. The beast is just starting to waken!! Benny wanted 50k members? I think if we keep up this form we should get to 60k

Love him or hate him Milne is pretty good, his work off the ball, positioning to best effect and footy smarts was pretty good to watch, we did well to shut him down, was The Miner on him all night?

Agree with both of you and was good to watch him up close, would have been dangerous had he snagged a couple of those missed set shots
-
Disagreement is fine but leave out the personal insults and namecalling ppl!
Now back to the topic!
-
A very good win. Thought Nahas played a very good game and Jack was deservedly best on ground. It was a good team win. Thought Ellis played his best game for the club and was impressed by Griffiths. To beat a side that has had the wood on us for so long and to beat them at a ground that we traditionally have not played well out was very pleasing. As was the fact that we backed up from the week before. Also pleasing was the fact that when challenged we responded on each occasion. The fact that we were not at our best and still won was also a good sign
-
Forgot to mention another positive we won a milestone match

Thought it was interesting hearing Dimma talk about our tactics of creating less stoppages during the game to negate the saints style, which we executed well, but then played too quickly offensively not allowing our defense time to set up which lead to the saints scoring easy goals.
Shows the team's football intelligence is maturing but still has a way to go - and that Dimma's gameday coaching is better than some previously thought.
And what is with the series of photos of a semi naked man in the background? :shh
-
Having watched the replay of the game a few times you tend to look at different things. Just wondering what the rule is when players take a mark on the line between the point and goal posts. Kosi took one such mark but ended up with quite an easy shot. The week before Vickers took a very similar mark against the Hawks and was sent back onto an almost impossible angle, cant see the difference yet the level of difficulty required for both kicks was vastly different.
