God help us all. I hope he at least sticks a mark. The positive is at least Megan Gale will be around the Richmond faithful?

Morris, Hampson for Maric, Griffiths.

:-[
Presumably playing 4 guys forward of centre (Gordon, Morris, Newman and Lambert) who aren't up to it. Ty on any given day isn't up to it and Hampson can't do anything up front. Going to need good games from Lids and Jack i suspect.

Wonder how many possessions Morris, Newman, Gordon, Lambert & Hamspud will get between them? How many tackles will they make?
I thought Rugby League was the 13-a-side code.....
-
Don't like that we're messing with a successful three tall structure.

McBean obviously on Hardwick's shyte list now. Tipping Riewoldt's impact to be severly minimised. Idiotic.
-
Worried will not be able to kick a winning score with team listed. Hampson, Morris, Lambert and Gordon not prolific goal kickers.

..or possession getters, marks and tacklers...

Worst side of the year.
At least Thomas didn't get selected. So why would they upgrade in today?
-
Late change
Mcintosh
-
Yet our second best player from the seconds last week and our top draft pick for last year languishes in the twos…….
-
Dea not even an emergency. :lol
And Thomas is :lol
Is Miles injured?
That's the only reason I can see why he would be upgraded and picked as an emergency.
Can anyone else think of anything even remotely logical?

Yeah, I don't like this one either. McBean did everything you could ask of him to earn a game this week, kicking four goals in a low-scoring win against the Roosters. I would've thought he was the logical choice to replace Griffiths.
There was a story on Carlton's debutant Fields on AFL 360 this week, which was pretty concerning. Apparently he has a booming kick. They showed footage of some of his kick-ins, and he was regularly plonking them into the centre square. Apparently they measured his longest kick at 85 metres :help

Noticed Miles limping in the change room last week with ice strapped to his knee, most players seem to have ice strapped somewhere after a game so didn't think much of it at the time.
-
Morris has done absolutely nothing to warrant selection, reeks of nepotism. Hampson I don't mind as I believe we will get more centre clearances than we do with Maric as Hampson is a very good tap ruckman. Why upgrade Thomas who has been killing it and then select Morris.

Moved with no issues at training today.

So considering Griffiths is out for 3-4 weeks are we going with the two forward set-up until he gets back?
Be interesting if Hamspud injures himself again tomorrow night -or plays so badly he has to be subbed out- and we only have Vickery as our ruck and Riewoldt as our solitary tall forward.
-
yep just doesn't make sense movinh away from a 3 tall setup that has proven to be effective - and McBean showed he could play the role well earlier in the year, leading intelligently and away from the other 2 talls, so why not play him?
If the above happens then we're stuffed
-
Massive ins for the Blues compared to us. We have kept Newman in and brought in Morris. Ffs, why didn't we just get someone off the street in a wheelchair.
-
I can kinda get the Morris selection.
Wet and cold tomorrow night, Carlton do set up from the half back line with Yarran and Simpson.
I'm tipping they park Morris on the backside of Yarran to remove him from the equation. Was good in the magoos last week.
Hampson simply has to come in as a strong body in the ruck, query is on his ability to run out the game.
Lambert worries me, I'd have liked McDonough to come in - has great skills and good goal sense.
-
What sort of message does it send?
Morris dropped on form, doesn't show any, comes in ahead of guys playing much better.

-
I don't really care who is playing as I expect to beat this cheating scum and I will not accept anything less than a win and a comfortable win too by a minimum of 6 goals.
:gotigers
-
Morris in to play as a defensive half-forward on Yarran and physically wear him down.
No doubt we've gone away from the 3 tall forwards tomorrow night because it'll be wet and harder for tall forwards to get in the game. Hampson :help and Vickery to rotate through the ruck.
-
Weither wet or not you play players on form and Morris has not show much in the Vfl.The Bean should have come in keep our structure and had a ripper game last week.Lambert has had 2 games and shown nothing rather Donuts or Lennon.
-
Dea not even an emergency. :lol
Only thing done right

One "ripper game" in the last month, don't think we can call that consistent performance or a great run of form.
Agree with you on Morris and there others who have shown more consistently the last few weeks who have been ignored again and that's wrong
As for Lambert you said it he has had 2 games; which IMHO is not enough time to make a call on him. If it was another player say Lennon or Menadue for example then people would be saying give them 4-5 games. Lambert deserves the same block of games to see if he can cut the mustard

11:26am: TIGERS TEAM-WATCH
WITH wintry weather forecast for Victoria this weekend, there could be plenty of late changes as coaches make last-minute adjustments to suit the conditions, Jennifer Phelan reports.
The Tigers have given themselves the option of calling up inside midfielder Matt Thomas after promoting him to the senior list this week.
The former Port Adelaide player had a slow start to the season because of his recovery from off-season knee surgery.
But he has played three solid games in the Tigers' VFL team and has earned his elevation to replace Nathan Drummond, who has had a knee reconstruction.
Thomas has been named as an emergency for Friday night's game against Carlton, along with Liam McBean and Matt McDonough.
Richmond and Carlton's Friday night clash at the MCG should be played in dry conditions of about 12 degrees.

my thoughts exactly TM.

I can understand Lambert still being given a chance, I can understand why they want Morris in with Yarran around . . . . but Newman?! Gimme a break. The fact he still gets gifted games ticks me off beyond measure.
:banghead

I know you were trying to be funny but why denigrate people in wheelchairs. As someone who has spent a lot of time in hospitals over the last 6 or 7 years in particular, I have realized that a lot of people have it a lot worse in life than many of us, particular people who are in wheelchairs, many for life.
It must be a terrible way to live I reckon.
Ive seen some shocking things in hospitals - and Im sure Y&BB as a doctor would have seen much more than me, just recently I saw some poor guy, his neck and head was sitting almost at a complete right angle, ie. sitting on his shoulder blade as he was walking around. Anyway.

the same message as Newman's.

Any word on sub ? Hasn't realky earned it but mcintosh can't be for the 3rd week in a row surely.

Funny it coincided with his return to the forward line. Long way to go if he wants to be a ruckman but he is definitely the best forward we have in the ressies
-
There has only been a speck of rain today and my phone says a 10% chance of rain tonight. There is a 20-30km northerly though.
I would still go wth the extra tall. We are looking pretty weak in that area. We already have enough ground rats in the team if it does become scrappy.
-
Hampson had a arthroscopy only a few weeks ago. He'd be lucky to be able to jump is what I've heard........ :whistle
-
Well you can't really rest him at full forward, he is useless there. :banghead
-
We wouldn't play him if that was the case. We would have gone with vickery dominant ruck and griff mcbean and jack the 3 talks. ( reckon we should have gone with that )
-
Our tip for the player most likely to start in the subs vest this weekend:
RICHMOND: Kane Lambert had a quiet game last week.

is thomas late in?

Nah Petey. No late changes for tonight's #AFLTigersBlues clash.
Kane Lambert will start as our sub.

I agree Morris hasn't shown anything at VFL level to earn a recall but I was just going on what Dimma and the match committee would be thinking. Morris was always a show irrespective of form to come in and play a defensive forward role on Yarran. The young guys in the VFL though are forced to do it the hard way and play a month of stand out VFL games before they are even considered.
At least, Thomas has been left out tonight.
