Apart from GC, yes!! If the Pies get Aish and Treloar they will, with what the Cats have just picked up it will be another 10 years before we beat them..

Ok I'll put my neck on the line here....

On paper the Gold Coast should have gone past us by now, fully fit they should beat us hands down.
There weak spot is there back line and now losing Dixon the forward line takes a hit as well.
Verdict....they should mate the 8, we're even par imo.

Collingwood look to have massively boosted there midfield but are still lacking down back and up forward. If Cloke can start kicking straight they could be anything.
Verdict.......Should make the 8 but won't go part is this year.

Geelong, again have bolstered there midfield but continue to lose experienced premiership players.
They'll have a heavy on there kids stepping up obviously the addition on Dangerfield is huge but does he have the support around him?
Verdict........just scrape into the 8

Port, we've seen what Port are capable of in 2014, not sure what happened last year but I'm sure they have learnt from it. They have the gallant and the addition of Dixon to there forward line will be huge!
Verdict.....if they play to there potential there a top 4 team, should go past us.

geelong will be morals to make the 8 very rare would they miss 2 years in a row danger just makes them look even better probably allows selwood to be more damaging and loosen his tag they will finish top 6 I feel..

Collingwood yeah they will get trelaor but really we beat them by 15 goals last time and he isn't a 15 goal player I feel confident we can stay above them.

Port well they will probably get a better draw then what they did last year so that's always going to help them I think they will be up there again specially with Dixon coming storing forward line..

gold coast theyd be praying gazza is back fully fit  and jagar not sure who will kick there goals will certainly be below us

Nope , PA sent paddy s career spiraling backwards , I don't expect them to fare any better with Dixon who has been less ability , did u see that joke a couple of months back at the G
We last beat pies by 20 goals , Treloar ain't yazza
The cats need all the help they can get , a bunch of old stagwrs, Henderson lol, about as good as Dixon

 * what you think of losing lennon to carlton over 10k? 100? 200? - apparently this one is in the too hard basket

 * would danger of come here for 1.5?

No Dangerfiled would not have come to us for$1.5mil.

Are you that naive to think all clubs including ours didn't ask? We did, all clubs did and it was only ever gong to be Geelong. Any chance you can get your head around that

i only wear shoes when i have to, prefer my harachies if i dont need covered shoes and dont wear socks when i play footy or train, as such i hardly wear socks. more interested in comfort than color though . i really hate socks that are hard to put on and get off.

1. Very sure. And no you cannot ask

2. As reported About $800-$850k a season

3. Have no idea, he wasn't interested in going anywhere other than Geelong

4. Don't care

BTW have you read today's HUN? All there in black & white, think it makes his decision making process very clear indeed

He wanted to live in Moggs creek. Geelong is the only club he could realistically play for whilst living there and therefore only wanted to play for geelong. I'd imagine the 1mil+ offers tempted him but barely gave it any thought.

Maybe the admin recognise that our team still needs 3-4 players to make it a bona fide contender.

They would thus think it's unfair to expect Dimma to win a premiership.

So maybe a "pass" would be a finals win. A good grade, maybe a "B", would be a prelim final. An "A" would be a GF and an "A+" would be a flag.

For me, I would think that a top 4 finish is vital.
so why arent the blokes who have been there 10 yrs and 7 yrs who have been given the job to build the list not in the gun.It is an inordinate amount of time and frankly to date we have not looked like contending.
Ah tiger supporters always happy with mediocrity.
You're posting as if neeothing has been done at RFC to improve recruiting.  Luke Williams was employed and several scouts have been added. Our football expenditure has gone up exponentially in 7 years.

Yet still mid table. Please
Results from recruiting take time. Everyone is giving Collingwood time....
Lol they made top 4 in 2012 and  won a final. made finals in 2013. you could argue they have been in rebuild for just 2 yrs.
No one is arguing we have not got better in all areas. The question is does improvement equal good enough.Cmon look open your eyes wwith the off field improvement we have had, the team and footy dept in particular could only improve. It is in this context that you have to ask have we improved enough are we ticking enough boxes. For many of us that is a resounding no.
We have been so starved of success that even mediocre improvement is better than where we were. But is it really good enough? Not by a long shot.

Gee wiz listen to you and we'd all be lead to believe Collingwood has rebuilt for 2 years and are now in premiership contention.

:sleep :sleep talk to me when they actually do something after this "amazing" rebuild, because for now it's all speculation and you rubbing your balls in excitement over the prospect of a team surpassing us

--->

2 weeks of what throwing the line out lets look at this sides below us who made it happen there all good players

Collingwood, trelaor,aish,howe

Geelong- danger,selwood,smith,henderson

Yep we got Yarran and that's what all the recruiters will be saying we got our man but really he wanted to come to us not if we were chasing him

trelor, aish, howe

hendersen, dangerfeid, selwood, zac smith

Have proved to be very reliant  on Gazza and lesser extent o Meara , a lot will depend how they both come up.
Not a great wrap for their key forwards , defenders not marvellous either

I will make a case for gc as it seems noone else wants to..
Cruelled by injuries this yr, where they were forced to play 41 players almost the entire list. Through adversity there was a silver lining in the fact so many younger  players gained afl experience which can only help add to their depth this yr.

Their best 25 or so stacks up against most sides.A lot of their regular players are now entering the 23 thru 28 yr bracket. A lot of them have now managed to get get close to the 80 100 game mark. SO as far as maturity and experience goes they are a lot closer to the right place. All key factors that you the club and most of our own supporters have gone on about.

The potential factor remains huge if we use 1st 2nd and their access selections as a guide, it is  something we have done ourselves. their list is riddled with these players.

They lost three good players or potentially good players in Dixon 16 games bennell 15 games and zac smith 11 games.  I think Nicholls went past Smith and they have Gorringe developing.
Peter wright is a ready made replacement for Dixon albeit inexperienced, and blokes like Ablett and O'Meara coming back will help offset Bennell who didnt have a great season anyway.

I will take a stab at their best 22

FB:  McKenzie 24yo/92gms -  Thompson 25yo/65gms -  Schade 22yo/15gms.
HB: Harbrow 27yo/163gms -   May 24yo/71gms -   Kolodjashnij 20yo/40gms.

C:  Rischitelli 30yo/199gms - Swallow 23yo/79gms - O'Meara - 22yo/44gms
R:  Nicholls 24yo/30gms -  Ablett 31yo/274gms -  Prestia 23yo/81gms

HF: Martin 21yo/23gms -  Day 23yo/78gms  -  Hall 25yo/61gms
FF:  Matera 24yo/74gms - Lynch 23yo/80gms -  Wright 19yo/3gms

INT: Garlett 19yo/9gms - Hallahan 23yo/18gms - Miller 20yo/23gms - Rosa 29yo/168gms -  Ah Chee 18yo/0gms  - Lonergan 21yo/31gms.

If anyone thinks a fully fit gcs team will be a push over they had better think again.Like about 14 or so other teams they are a real  chance of top  8 if not top 4.
Also at the end of next year they will be in a great position to either pillage what is described as a very strong draft or trade for players. By my reckoning they already  have  two first round picks and 4 second round picks.

I don't think anyone questions their individual talents. Only question is will they put it all together? They will have to eventually but a year of numerous injuries doesn't put them in a great position this year.

Didn't Gorringe get traded to Carlton?
