Go Hammers!
I understand where your coming from, but Id ask that anyone who has concerns IMs me in this regard. I already know the names of some people in here who work for the club in some capacity and I will keep there id a secret if they want but for management of the comp, Id like to have the info. Hope its cool! :thumbsup
-
CAN THE PEOPLE WHO WANNA BE IN IT TRY AND GET THEIR SIDE IN BEFORE FRIDAY. OTHERWISE YOULL BE AT A BIG DISADVANTAGE.
-
Join up everyone. If you watched the World Cup then you'll know as many names as the rest of us. Schwarzer, Neill, Cahill, Kewell, Viduka and Moore are Aussies playing in the EPL.
Chelsea got done last night in the Community Shield but their starting 11 was just plain scary. The best money can buy - Cudicini, Paulo Ferreira, Terry, Ricardo Carvalho, Essien, Geremi, Ballack, Lampard, Shevchenko, Drogba and Robben :o.
-
I am up for the challenge.
Bring it on.
I already know the names of some people in here who work for the club in some capacity and I will keep there id a secret if they want
Id appreciate if my name was kept quiet, Terry wants to keep me under rapts :shh :lol

Neill's send off killed ne too. :banghead If I take away my Aussie sentimentality, I realise Neill will become a liability in this comp. time to trade.
MT, Your Chelsea connection came through for you though. :thumbsup
-
Its a reduced round this week, so transfers are the order of the day to make sure your team isnt stranded with players who aint gonna be earning any points.

Fluffy is kicking our backside :bow.
I heard that in the supercoach this year and fell at the end. :(
Its very early and I have quite a few duds to get rid off yet.
-
My team's defence is carrying its weight but the midfield and forwards are letting me down. Just treading water in 5th place behind fluffy and co atm.
-
I had 30 points early in the round with 5 players to get points in the last few games and Mourinho and co. leave out 2 of my players and Im stuffed. My season so far is simply disgraceful.
-
Man I'm stupid.... :banghead :banghead Here I am thinking that it's unlimited trades only to realise I lose 4 comp points every time I do a trade.
I was wondering why I was going backwards on the ladder even though I thought I was scoring pretty well. :stupid

They said on the news Cahill is out until at least Christmas :(.
Fingers crossed Cahill's injury isn't as bad as it looked :pray. I heard on SEN there were fears he had done his ACL :-\.
--------------------------
EXCLUSIVE: PHYSIO ON CAHILL INJURY
The latest news on the injury to Tim Cahill's knee will be provided on evertonfc.com on Tuesday morning.
The midfielder has undergone scans on the knee today (Monday) following his early departure through injury from Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa.
The Australian was stretchered from the field of play during the first half following an accidental collision with Lee Carsley.
Head physio Mick Rathbone will give a full assessment of the injury to evertonfc.com on Tuesday following an analysis of the results.
In the wake of Saturday's game, Rathbone told evertonTV exclusively: "I've looked at it in slow motion on the video tape and he has obviously hyper-extended his knee.
"The consultant came down at half-time to have a look at him but we don't want to make a diagnosis until we have got all the facts.
"He's a bit sore right now so he will probably have a scan on Monday morning."
On the plus side of things, Rathbone added that Cahill is naturally a quick healer and that he has bounced back from a very similar injury before.
He added: "I can't say too much until we've got all the scans and had a good look at it. When you wait for 24 hours or so you get a much better picture.
"I've seen a couple of those in the past where it has looked really bad but the actual damage has been relatively minor."

CAHILL FACING TWO MONTH BATTLE
evertonfc.com
Everton midfielder Tim Cahill is facing between six and eight weeks on the sidelines with a medial knee ligament injury.
The Aussie international had to be stretchered off during Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa following an accidental collision with teammate Lee Carsley.
Following a series of scans, the Club's medical team have confirmed Cahill did not damage his anterior ligament but that damage to his medial ligament is set to keep him sidelined for up to two months.
The midfielder could also require an exploratory operation to check on the cartilage in his right knee.
Everton head physio Mick Rathbone told evertonTV: "We had the scans yesterday (Monday) and it confirms what we see clinically, which is that he has significant damage to his medial ligament. The ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) seems OK which was our fear.
"We would estimate it would be an absolute minimum of six weeks but probably going on for eight weeks for the medial ligament.
"We think and hope the cartilage is okay. What we will do is let it settle down for a few days then reassess.
"The surgeon may decide to have a quick look inside the knee to have a look at the cartilage but we are not really sure about that.
"I suppose everybody knew it was a serious injury; it was clear having looked at the video tape. As it ended up it was a good end to what it could have been."
The relief for Everton was that the player has sustained no significant damage to his cruciate - an injury that would have left him facing a battle to be back before the end of the season.
He added: "But you can damage a cruciate with very little force and I have seen a couple that have had very little swelling and very little trauma so you never really want to give the all clear until you see the scan.
"If the surgeon decides to have a look in the knee it wouldn't affect the timescale. But if you look inside the knee and there's a further problem then that can extend it.
"He has been relatively injury free over his career and you have to look at the bigger picture.
"He is a quick healer and if you look back at his medical history you can see he has a record of coming back from injury quickly."

In transfer news Aussie Lucas Neill could soon be joining Kewell at Liverpool:
Neill is out of contract in the summer and Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez is believed to be ready to follow up a summer bid for the Australia World Cup star by making another move when the transfer window opens on Monday.
Spanish giants Barcelona are also thought to be monitoring Neill's progress.
However, an Ewood Park exit is far from certain for the 28-year-old full-back, with Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes restating his intention to keep Neill unless he believes Rovers will benefit.

If true this will put a spanner in the FFA's (Soccer Australia) plans to bring Guss Hiddink back for the next world cup:
Hiddink in line to replace Jose at Chelsea?
Chelsea have reportedly approached Russia coach Guus Hiddink as they believe Jose Mourinho will quit Stamford Bridge in the summer.
Mourinho's relationship with owner Roman Abramovich and chief executive Peter Kenyon is believed to have reached breaking point, with the Portuguese coach frustrated with the behind-the-scenes political battles at the club.
Mourinho still feels aggrieved at the departure of William Gallas on the final day of the summer transfer window and Abramovich is, according to several Sunday newspapers, already preparing to replace him with Hiddink.

Neill rejects Reds for Hammers
January 19, 2007 12:00am
Herald-Sun
THE lure of a reported $125,000 a week salary has proved too hard for Lucas Neill to resist, with the Socceroo defender last night opting to sign with struggling English Premier League club West Ham rather than Liverpool.
Neill, 28, had been expected to join Liverpool in the January transfer window, and the Reds had finally agreed terms with Neill's club Blackburn. But West Ham played its trump card.
Flush with cash from a recent takeover, and needing to splash it to save the club from relegation, the Hammers reportedly offered Neill $125,000 a week. It was more than Liverpool was prepared to offer.
The move came to a head yesterday, when Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez told Neill's camp he must quickly accept the Reds' offer or they would look elsewhere.
Neill then opted for West Ham, with the comfort of a reported escape clause that would release him from Upton Park if the Hammers are relegated.
"Lucas has agreed terms on a 2 1/2-year deal with West Ham and is looking forward to the challenge ahead," his agent Peter Harrison said last night.
But, and it is a big but, Neill remains under contract at Blackburn and will be able to join West Ham only when Rovers reach agreement with the Hammers.
That could take some time, meaning Neill may not be in the West Ham squad for tomorrow night's match at Newcastle. - AAP

What a silly money grabbing d1ckhed.
I don't follow the fortunes of either of those two clubs, but that is not a good career choice by any measure.

I'm happy about it but I can't believe he did it. Agree Jake from Neill's perspective why miss out on the chance to join a top 5 EPL club and play on the gig stage in the European competitions. Maybe he thinks West Ham will get regulated anyway (he has an out-clause if that happens) so he can grab the cash then move to a big club in the off-season ???.

Why Neill joined Hammers
By David Lewis
Sunday Telegraph
January 21, 2007
AUSTRALIA star Lucas Neill last night revealed why he chose to pledge his future to battling West Ham and not pedigree club Liverpool - and insisted it wasn't about money.
After finally concluding a complex switch from Blackburn Rovers to the Hammers for a transfer fee of $3.7 million, Neill, speaking exclusively with The Sunday Telegraph, said he was motivated by ambition not greed.
The versatile defender has signed a 2 1/2-year contract worth an estimated $150,000 a week - $70,000 more than Liverpool were prepared to pay.
But he declared: "It wasn't about cash - that didn't come into it. It was about being wanted. West Ham were knocking down the door to get me.
"Liverpool made a take-it-or-leave-it offer and didn't even come in for me until 15 days after the transfer window opened (at the beginning of the month).
"People who have raised their eyebrows at me for making this decision are in for a surprise because West Ham have a shopping list of players which almost blew me away.
"People have said I put money before medals and how could I make a sideways move like this and not go to a club like Liverpool, who are always in the hunt for trophies and have so much prestige.
"It was an extremely hard decision but I know it's the right one.
"West Ham moved heaven and earth to sign me, while Liverpool gave me the impression that I might not even get a game if I went there.
"I supported them as a kid and I know people are going to give me stick for not choosing them."
Bowled over by the charisma, desire and deep pockets of the London club's mega-rich owner Eggert Magnusson, Neill explained: "It took me all of two minutes to be convinced I wasn't making a mistake when Mr Magnusson told me about his plans for the club."
Magnusson, whose fortune was built on a biscuit empire, gave Neill a three-minute speech in which he outlined his desire to turn West Ham - third from bottom of the Premiership and fighting for its life - into the next Chelsea.
Neill, who will make his debut in the FA Cup tie against Watford next weekend, said: "What he said almost knocked me off my feet. He told me I'm the first of many new signings earmarked for the club.
"I can be part of something big here. West Ham are very well supported. They just happen to be at the wrong end of the table at the moment. But I hope to play my part in helping remedy that.
"They were two minutes away from winning the FA Cup final last season and have not suddenly become a bad team."
Neill has a get-out clause built into his deal should the Hammers drop.
"It's a calculated gamble," he said. "It won't be a glamorous three months but once we secure safety, people won't question my motives any more.
"I believe I will have the last laugh. People will soon be talking about West Ham in a very different way."
Neill, whose reputation soared after a stellar World Cup, has a proven track record for altruism - including setting up a scholarship scheme for Australian kids.
The talent tree is already bearing fruit.
Manly 15-year-old Chris Payne has been invited back for a second stint at Blackburn after Neill paid for him to travel to England for a trial at Ewood Park.
Neill might be gone but his largesse looks set to live on at the club where he says he spent five great years.

West Ham finally hammers down its man
Herald-Sun
January 24, 2007 12:00am
WEST Ham manager Alan Curbishley says Socceroo Lucas Neill was at the top of his shopping list when he took over the English Premier League struggler last month.
Neill became a West Ham player yesterday when Blackburn Rovers accepted a $3.77 million offer, with the Socceroo defender having agreed personal terms with the relegation-threatened Hammers last week.
"I'm delighted that we have signed Lucas," Curbishley said last night. "He is a player with vast experience, who has played in the World Cup finals for Australia and is now captain of his country.
"Lucas is one of the players I targeted as soon as I came into the club."
Blackburn manager Mark Hughes paid tribute to Neill, who played more than 200 games for the Lancashire club.
"We thank Lucas for his efforts because he was fantastic for me in my time here and prior to my tenure here," Hughes said.
"He was a guy who came in and gave everything that he had. He took the option to move away, which he was well within his rights to do."
The Australian defender had been close to joining his boyhood heroes Liverpool at the start of the season and again during the transfer window, but elected instead to join West Ham, which had offered him more money.
The move attracted criticism from several quarters, including Manchester City boss Stuart Pearce, claiming there was a greed-based culture among modern players.
"I supported them (Liverpool) as a kid and I know people are going to give me stick for not choosing them," Neill said.
"It's a calculated gamble. It won't be a glamorous three months but once we secure safety, people won't question my motives any more. I believe I will have the last laugh. People will soon be talking about West Ham in a very different way."
Neill has been allowed an escape clause that will see him walk from the contract if the club is relegated.
SOCCEROO Harry Kewell is back on the pitch for Liverpool. The injury-riddled playmaker has returned to light training for the first time since participating in last year's World Cup finals.
Such is Kewell's eagerness to return to the Reds line-up, he is hoping to be fully fit for the Champions League clash away to holder Barcelona on February 21.
"I'm under the supervision of the medical team here and the surgeons who operated on me, so once they're all happy with the running then I can start on ball work," Kewell said yesterday.
"Once that's going well it's up to the manager when he decides I'm ready." - agencies

Also switched to Rooney just in time for his freakish chip goal! :thumbsup Fluffy still miles ahead but I've broken away well and truly
from the peloton and began a mediocre chase against some serious headwinds.

I need to change my captain from Rooney to either Lampard or Ronaldo. Missed out on some easy points doh! :banghead

MT, I've had Lampard as my skipper all season and he hasn't hurt me although I have wished it had been Ronaldo from time to time. Either one should do the Job for you but if you want to catch me I'd suggest Ronaldo as I'm sticking with Lampard for the mo.

Tevez is single handedly trying to keep the hammers up on his own. That boy is a leader...in a crisis he's come to the fore- and even if im not a hammers supporter he is great to watch. I wish the Tiges had a couple of players with the brains, skill and nouse of Tevez...we'd be in the finals lol.
-
Man Utd are the EPL champions after Chelsea could only manage a one all draw with Ar_senal.
In the League Championship, Sunderland and Birmingham City have won promotion up to the Premier League next season. The third promoted club will come from the winner of the playoffs between Derby County, West Brom, Wolves and Southampton.

Not complaining but the Hammers are very lucky. Charlton gone as well overnight so we only have to stay ahead of the Wigan. Hopefully Man U will be in party mode and let the Hammers get the point they need to stay up.
-
West Ham survives :bow. Tevez scored the winner against Man U. Wigan also survived knocking off Sheff Utd. So the Blades, Charlton and Watford are relegated.
Kewell was back in the Liverpool side after his return from injury and scored from the penalty spot in injury time to get a 2-2 draw for the Reds against Charlton. Viduka scored twice for Middlebrough to continue his red hot scoring form since Christmas. All good signs for the upcoming Asian Cup. Kewell just needs to get a medical clearance from Liverpool to play for the Socceroos.

What a shocker of a FA Cup Final :-X. Apart from Drogba's one-two with Lampard and winning goal, that was the worse game of soccer ever played. The first half was painful to watch :sleep. Chelsea and Man U must have got their gameplans off Hawthorn and St Kilda :chuck.
-
working nightshift and watching those 2 games do not mix :sleep :sleep :sleep
-
Thankfully I missed the Hawthorn-St Kilda game CUB but I heard what a shocker it was from Saint supporters at Richmond station who left just after 3/4 time and were getting stuck into their new coach lol.
You can tell where AFL coaches get their chip chip chip crap from watching a soccer game like that :sleep.
-
Would you like to earn 60,000 pounds (A$ 144,000) a week? ;)
Be Mark Viduka. He's still favoured to go to Newcastle Utd but Birmingham City has offered him 60k pounds to go there.
-
SEN said tonight that West Ham are chasing Timmy Cahill to join fellow Aussie Lucas Neill. They'll call them West Ham Roos if they pull it off lol.
-
Viduka today signed a 2-year deal with Newcastle. Dukes off to Toon Town.
